Book description
In Carson City, Nevada a tragic car accident has claimed the lives of Nexi Jones’ adoptive parents. Now, without them, her reason to live has vanished and she is determined to end her pain.

The problem with that, it’s not heaven she wakes up to, it’s the Otherworld. Nexi must reconcile the truth about her past, and her heritage as part guardian/part witch, while she begins to train to join the Council’s guard. But it’s not the combat training that has her worried, its attempting to keep her cool around the luscious guardian, Kyden that’s her biggest concern.

Before long, Nexi’s skills are put to the test as she begins to fight against the supernatural who have taken a human life. But nothing can prepare her for the journey ahead. Soon, she will find herself lost in a mystery and fighting to keep all she’s gained, as Lazarus, a vampire, threatens to take it all away.

I was amazed at the world the author has set up with all the magic, mystery, excitement and adventure. In this world you find witches, vampires and shape-shifters Oh My! This is a wonderful love story between the hero and heroine that I hope as I keep reading I will see it keep growing. If your one that’s ever wanted a mixture of PNR and UF well you got it in this one!

This one doest carry a HEA as a PNR does, but it does have a good ending. This book is a series about Nexi part witch and Guardian living in the new Otherworld and taking on the bad guys or in her case creatures.

I loved the heroine Nexi. She is strong and when she is trained she takes down the best of the paranormal creatures and when she finds her witch powers, look out!
Kyden is one that just about any woman wants in a hero. He takes care of what’s his (meaning the woman). The story starts out as Nexi finds herself now alone in the world and taking drastic measures to take care of being alone. Little does she know she is not from this world. She wakes up in a world that is nothing like she suspected then she finds out she is part witch and Guardian. She is introduced to Kyden as her trainer, so she can be trained to take out the vampires and werewolf that have gone bad. There is so much more to the story, you’ll see as you read you’ll find a few surprise‘s.

Both Kyden and Nexi are great together along with all the other great characters makes this a great story. It does start out slow as your introduced to the world and characters, but it didn’t take long before the action started to happen. I would love to see a glossary for all the different masters it can get a little confusing who is master of who and who can do what.

Authors website

Book Description
She believes in myths…can she believe in destiny?
Unlike her adventurous sister, Ruby is perfectly content to let her mind be the wanderlust while her body stays safely in Chicago. Melanie wouldn’t be out of touch this long without a damned good reason, though. Which means it’s time for a giant step outside her comfort zone.

While Denali National Park is like another planet, the myths and legends that saturate this wild land are right up her alley. The wilderness guide waiting for her—naked in her bed—looks about as safe as a polar bear.

Carson’s people are kin to the great beast, right down to the white hair. Before Ruby ever set foot in Alaska, his inner bear knew that Melanie’s little sister was his mate. He’s doing his level best not to let his primal needs scare her, but everything about her sends his urge to possess her into overdrive.

To his surprise, revealing he’s a shifter only stimulates her innate curiosity. Warming her with the perfect fire of their lovemaking, easy. Convincing her that real love isn’t a myth—and making her want to stay in his home, his bed, his heart—now, that’s a problem…

Here is the warning label; Cozy flannel pj’s. A naked shifter. Incredible food and some fireside sex hot enough to melt the polar ice caps… Now when I read that I was in love already! And ready to start the book. I sum this one up as sizzling hot! I love the way Lissa can take a short novella and make sure you understand what’s going on, then she tops it with the most incredible sex you just can’t ask for anything more. One thing I love most about Lissa writing is a plus size woman can have the hottie!

This one takes you to the cold Alaskan forest. There you find a shape shifting family, now I not telling you what they are, but I will give you a clue one name that’s in the warning label is what they are. Lissa explains why they are shape shifter very well in this eBook. This is the first book in the series, I found it was an excellent start.

Now who ever thought a shape-shifter hottie could cook, well this one can, he not only cooks in the bed he also cooks food and bakes wonderful brownies. Carson has a thing for his brothers new mates sister and he just cant wait to see her and claim her as his mate. Ruby is in Alaska to find her lost sister or at least she thinks she is lost. She hires Carson to help find her sister. As she settles in her hotel rooom and sleeps she has a dream about a shifter claiming her then next thing she knows someone is naked and hard in her bed, when she looks she finds the man that was just in her dream, in her bed! Now you have to read and find out what happened when she found him in the bed;)

Book description
In Lydia dare's debut trilogy, Regency England has gone to the wolves!
He gets crankier and crankier as the moon gets full...

The rules of Society can be beastly-especially when you're a werewolf and it's that irritating time of the month. Simon Westfield, the Duke of Blackmoor, is rich, powerful, and sinfully handsome, and has spent his entire life creating scandal and mayhem. It doesn't help his wolfish temper at all that Miss Lily Rutledge seems not the least bit afraid of him, and in fact, may be as untamable as he is...

A woman whose charm is stronger than the moon...

When Lily's beloved nephew's behavior becomes inexplicably wild, she turns to Simon, the boy's cousin and guardian, for help. But Simon's idea of assistance is far different than hers, and Lily finds herself ensconced in his house and engaged to the rogue.

They both may have bitten off more than they can chew when each begins to discover the other's darkest secrets...

A charming sexy wolf story to make you howl at the moon, that I really enjoyed. The characters are all enjoyable. After reading a few historical romance I found this one felt like a historical read than most. At least the author used words from that time period and made sure she added the slang, it made it more enjoyable for me to read.

Now as I said this book is charming its not like most shape-shifter books. You get no fighting action or any more paranormal creatures. What you get is a charming love story between one wolf Simon, that thinks he has to hide the fact he can change during the moon phases. Then you get one strong woman Lily that has had enough of the duke’s not answering his mail about his nephew and goes to confront him. From there things gets really heated between them, but Simon still wants to hide the fact of his changing.
Both Simon and Lily are great to read. I really liked Will, Simons brother and can’t wait to get to his book.

The only thing I didn’t like was the book was very predictable, but with all of its charm the book has I can easily overlook it. I would suggest if your going to read the series do not skip this one, it has a lot of information for future books

Guest paranromal and erotic author Suzanne Rock with giveaway of Dark Deceptions

Please welcome our guest paranormal and erotic author Suzanne Rock. Suzanne is wonderful to talk to so don't be shy. I had the privilege to review this book and loved it.

Welcome to my world…
I love the Star Wars saga, but not for the reasons you may think. Many people liked the battle scenes, the special effects, or the coming-of-age theme. I loved the world George Lucas created. More specifically, I loved how multiple types of creatures all came together in the Imperial Senate and tried to make agreements about how everyone could get along. I loved that there was a delicate balance holding all of these different creatures together and any disruption, no matter how small, had the potential to set the entire universe on its ear.
As the Star Wars series progressed, it was fascinating to watch the politics unfold in the Imperial Senate. The back-stabbing, lies, and deceit all got in the way of progress. What really struck me was how people were fanatical in their beliefs, even when it was so obvious that they were wrong. In the entire first movie, who could have guessed that Queen Amedala’s battle for her people’s freedom would be the catalyst that put Senator Palpatine into power? That he planned her struggles from the start? I knew after watching “The Phantom Menace” that I wanted to write a story like that. It was so complex, so dark, so interesting. It was then that the first seed for Dark Deception was planted.

A few years ago I was reading the Immortals After Dark series by Kresley Cole. In it, she had rich world-building involving many different types of paranormal creatures. I loved how they all interacted, and how one person’s prejudices got in the way of another person’s happiness. I remembered the Star Wars saga and how everything was interconnected. Inspiration struck, and the Immortal Realm was born.
The Dark Deception world is a blending of these two things, with infusions of many more ideas I’ve gotten from media (TV, books, magazines) over the years. At its center, there is a world of immortal creatures that normal humans don’t know about. This, in of itself is not new or different from many paranormal books out there. The unique twist I gave my world was that each immortal clan was dependent on the others for survival. My story centered on an Immortal Council, kind of like a real-life United Nations. Here, representatives from each of the Immortal Clans: vampires, werewolves, and fey, met with some humans who were privileged enough to know about the Immortals. Together they worked to build a set of societal rules so that everyone could co-exist in harmony on Earth. Easy-as-pie, right?
Unfortunately, like most politics, things didn’t go very smoothly. At the beginning of Dark Deception, rogue vampires bled humans dry, instead of following the laws set up by the senate and taking just what they needed. This angered the other clans. It’s obvious why the humans were mad, but the fey needed human love to sustain their magick, and werewolves needed them to reproduce. Killing off humans essentially weakened the other clans and made them vulnerable to attack. Werewolves, fey and humans banded together and placed sanctions against the vampires. Special wards were woven for the humans for protection, essentially making their blood poison to vampires. With their primary food supply cut off, vampires were forced to feed from weaker creatures, such as pigs and cattle. Animal blood wasn’t as nutritious as human blood, so they became sickly and lethargic. It was from this depression that the vampire Carlos rose up and took charge. He swore to break the wards and seek revenge on the senators who devastated his people. He broke off from the council and prepared for war, using the vampires in his clan as pawns for the greater good.
Enter Maria, an innocent vampire under Carlos’ control, and Enrique, the human senator on the Immortal Council who was the most responsible for putting the sanctions in place. Carlos noticed how Enrique looked at Maria, and decided to use her in an elaborate plan to get his revenge on the senator. What he didn’t count on, however, was a heart-broken fey with nothing to lose, or Maria and Enrique falling in love…
I really enjoy complex world-building and had a lot of fun plotting Dark Deception. I’m currently working on the sequel, Dark Obsession. Here the vampire Javier returns to the Immortal Council to gain his former lover’s support for his people, and to reclaim her heart. Unfortunately, much has changed since he went into hiding, and what should have bean easy mission, ends up tearing apart the fabric of his very soul.
So, I need to get back to work. ;) While I’m writing, I’ll let you read some more about Dark Deception. Enjoy!

Book Trailer:

Excerpt:
Just outside of Barcelona, Spain 1812
“Bite it.” Enrique’s thick Spanish accent poured over her like warm chocolate -- dark, decadent and forbidden. The cherry swung gently from his hand as he waited for her to sink her teeth into its rich, juicy, center. He shifted and pressed his chest against her back, sending tingles of excitement up and down her spine.
Curling her fingers on the desktop, Maria moistened her lips in preparation. Her lover's heat and sweet scent enveloped surrounded her. Anticipation rippled through the room. She arched her back and pressed her backside against his groin, causing a hiss to escape his lips. The cherry slipped closer to her mouth. She reached for it, but at the last moment he pulled it away.
Maria loved the games they played when they were alone, each one carefully designed to torment them both and build their need. Enrique knew what she liked. Every night the man relentlessly stroked that spark of desire into a burning inferno. When they were together she felt warm, safe, and loved. Unfortunately, this whole relationship was nothing but a lie.
No. She refused to let her somber thoughts ruin the mood. Enrique wanted to play one of their games of passion and she wasn’t about to deny him. If things continued down this path he would soon lead her away from his study and up to his bedroom, where they wouldn't be disturbed. She preferred it there, away from the curious eyes of the staff. Down here any one of the other servants could walk in on them. What would they think when they saw one of their own cavorting with the master of the house?
It was better not to think about it. Maria rubbed against him, feeling the ripple of muscle through his waistcoat. The cherry wavered and he hissed out his breath. Lifting her hands from the desk, she reached behind her waist and rubbed her palms over his hips. He groaned and pressed his harden cock deeper into her flesh. The cherry bobbed toward her head.
The knock on the door chilled the temperature in the air. Maria straightened and smoothed her hands over her maid uniform as the door opened. Enrique crossed the room, clearing his throat as he met the head servant at the door.
“Señor Torres?”
“Si.”
“You have guests.” The maid handed him a card and frowned at Maria. “I showed them to the blue room.”
Enrique frowned at the card then handed it back to the maid. “Very well. I will be along in a moment.”
The servant's eyes flashed from Maria to Enrique and back again. Did she suspect? Maria arranged some papers on Enrique's desk in an effort to look busy.
“That will be all.”
“Yes,” The servant's frown faded as she focused on her master. “Very well, then. I will inform the cook to prepare tea.”
When the door finally closed, Maria breathed a sigh of relief and let go of the papers she was holding. They scattered on the floor. “Oh, I’m so sorry.” She stooped to pick them up. With trembling fingers, she gathered them up and replaced them on the desk.
Enrique closed the distance between them and took her hands. “I'm sorry querida. I must see them.”
“But it's so late. Who would visit at such an hour?”
“Unfortunately, it's not a social call.”
“One of the senators, then?”
Enrique pressed his lips together for a moment in thought. “Yes, I'm afraid so.” He wrapped his fingers around her arms and kissed her forehead. “Wait for me here. I won't be long.”
Maria turned her head up to meet his gaze. “Always.”
He brushed his finger down the side of her cheek. “That's my girl.” After a chaste kiss, he moved to the door, then pausing with his hand on the knob. He turned back to glance at her, a worried crease forming along his brow. “Don't concern yourself about the servant gossip. I'll handle it.”
Maria turned her gaze away from his perfect angular features and nodded. No doubt that maid was already telling the others of her find. Not that it mattered. The other servants didn't care for her, anyway. Not really.
Enrique left the door and took a hesitant step toward her, then stopped. She held up her hand. “They’re waiting for you.”
“Right. This will only take a moment.”
When he left the room, she rushed over to the door and threw the lock into place. Why hadn’t she remembered to lock the door before? Leaning back against the cold, hard wood, she considered how on Earth she was going to get out of the mess she created.
Every living female within the Torres Estate had fallen hard for Enrique’s dark, handsome looks and giving nature. Maria was no exception. The kindness he had shown her and the other servants was more than what most noblemen had done for their staff. As a result, he was respected and admired by everyone. Many of the other women openly talked of the countless females he had refused to bed, and speculated whether they could change his mind. Maria however, didn't have time for such foolishness. There were more important things to think about than love or even lust -- like survival. Not a trivial task under the present circumstances.
“Got ourselves in trouble again, I see.”
Maria froze. “Carlos.” How did he get here? She was alone in the room and the door was locked. Her gaze tore away from the tall, lean vampire and settled on the open window. Damn, she knew not to be so careless. Knowing Carlos, he probably watched her whole exchange with Enrique. He would want a full report, but Maria was in no mood to give one.
The vampire crossed his arms in front of his chest. “So, you remember me. After not seeing you for two nights, I was beginning to wonder…”
She turned on her heel to face him. “I would never forget you -- or the kindness you’ve shown Frederick and me.”
He frowned, his perfect dark brow arching over his amber eyes. “You need to work on your lies, Maria.”
Her breath caught. Leave it to him to bring up her immaturity. She carefully schooled her face into a blank mask, as she was taught.
His features softened as he approached. “You're still a very young vampire and unable to hold you mask.” He stopped, his face inches away from hers. Crooking his finger under her chin, he turned her head first to the right, then to the left. A frown creased his perfect angular features. “You look gaunt.”
She jerked her head away from his grasp. “It is nothing.”
“I've heard that you haven't been going to the feedings.”
“They are innocent people.”
“They’re food, nothing more.” He sighed. “At this rate you are going to collapse before your second year.” Reaching out, he trailed his finger down the side of her face. Maria forced herself not to flinch. “It would be a pity to lose such wonderful vampire flesh.”
She bit back a retort. Arguing would accomplish nothing. Carlos was a master of words and would only use her arguments to manipulate her. An image of her brother appeared in the forefront of her mind and she strengthened her resolve.
At her darkest hour, Carlos rescued both her and Frederick from the brink of destruction. The vampire leader was now securing their future. Under Carlos' protection Frederick would remain safe. She would remain safe. Frederick's dealings with the underworld had put her in danger more than once before. Now that they had the protection of the vampires, they wouldn't be touched.
Carlos slipped his hand lower, catching the 'V' in her dress. “You can't keep denying our desire for flesh and blood, Maria.” He leaned in close, his warm breath gliding against her cheek.
Maria shivered as his icy fingers danced over her skin. She was grateful for his protection, but would never...could never...
“One night with me and I can take you away from all this.” His voice was soft and filled with promise. Maria resisted the stirring in her lower abdomen. “Think about it, no more accusing stares from the servants, no more chores...”
No more Enrique. She had always loved Enrique's handsome features, but now that she had spent more time with him her feelings ran much deeper than lust. He treated her like somebody -- somebody who mattered. He was so different from Carlos, who only wanted to use her body to further his agenda.
Maria stepped back from his touch. “Why do you have me stay here at all? I mean, you say you want to trap Enrique -- Señor Torres -- but wouldn't it just be easier to send in vampires to capture him?”
Carlos smiled, showing each of his perfectly white teeth. “Ah, my dear. It isn't enough just to capture him.” He took a step forward. “I want to humiliate him.” Golden flecks danced across his eyes. “Ruin him.”
Maria's back hit the wall. She was trapped. “Why?”
He stepped closer, his chest even with her head. Her skin tingled at the power before her. She felt her fangs lower in response.
“Why?” He tipped his fingers under her chin and tilted her head up to his gaze. “Because I loathe him, Maria.” He lowered his head until his mouth hovered inches above her own. “As every vampire should.” His lips brushed against hers. Maria felt the cold press all the way to her toes. “The fool will destroy us all.” He kissed one cheek. “If he knew your real identity...” He kissed the other cheek. “He wouldn't hesitate to put a stake in your heart.”
“No.” Enrique was kind and thoughtful. He loved her and...
And he only approached her after she became a vampire and used her charms on him. His caring words, his gentle touch, all of it prompted by the magik Carlos bestowed on her. Sure Enrique was always kind to her, but it wasn't until she became a vampire that his interest turned sexual.
Maria straightened and tried to pull away, but it was no use. The weight of her burden felt like an anvil on her shoulders. The only reason why she was even allowed at the Torres estate was because Carlos decreed it. At any moment the vampire lord could take the privilege away from her. Then what would she be left with?
Carlos' grip tightened. “You know it is true. Don't deny who you are -– or your destiny.”
Hunger, pure and raw blossomed in her core. Only a select few were allowed to feed directly from the vampire leader. Maria had no illusions as to why she was bestowed such an honor. Vampire feedings were steeped in sexual energy and it was no secret that Carlos favored her.
Her master tilted his head to the side. His long dark hair fell away from his shoulders and exposed the smooth ivory skin of his neck. “Now feed.”

Short Author Bio:
After over a decade in the scientific world, Suzanne needed a creative outlet. She tried scrap booking, cooking, crocheting, painting, and piano, none of which held her interest for very long. Then one of her friends suggested writing. Thrilled with the idea of creating her own worlds, she opened up her lap top and never looked back.

When Suzanne’s not writing, she can be found playing with her two daughters, testing her husband’s latest kitchen creations, or curled up with her favorite romance novel in her central Massachusetts home.

New blood book blogger on the block

I wanted to start something new to help upcoming blogs that are followers. I know how bad it is to get followers. So I hoping this will help a few fellow bloggers during the year to get stated. I am calling this New Blood book blogger on the block. If you would like to participate keep reading you'll find out how LOL....

I recently had a lady Lydia (code name lonewolf) commenting on my blog. She made a book blog for herself, now named Paranromal Reads . As she kept commenting I starting to follow her blog. She email me one day for some help with her blog, I love to help when I can. Well little did I know how much my blog influenced her until I asked her to do this new ideal I have to be the New Blood on the Block.

I want to welcome Lydia, she will be stopping by later today, so if you want to ask her a question feel free to.

Laurie-Hello Lydia. Thanks so much for coming on my blog today. Now would you tell us a little about yourself?
Lydia-Thanks for having me Laurie. Okay, a little about me. I'm an inspiring writer, I've worked on some of my own stories, but I haven't been published yet. Don't worry, I haven't given up hope. When I'm not writing, or doing homework, I'm reading like crazy. The funny thing is that I used to hate English. The thought of it made me gag. *smiles* I think my English teacher from middle school would be surprised to find out that I'm a book lover now.

Laurie-Would you tell us about your blog?

Lydia-Sure. My blog is about paranormal books. They don't have to be romance (though i do love me some romance) but they have to be paranormal; vampires, werewolves, witches and wizards, dragons, ghosts, zombies. Well, I haven't read a story about zombies yet, but there's always time. Anyway, I read books and give my review on them - most of the time the books turn out good - and I'll either recommend it or not. I also have a little thing I call Delicious Photo of the Week on the side that I'll change every Friday. It's just a little eye candy for the blog. You always need eye candy. *grins*

Laurie-How long have you been blogging?

Lydia-Um, since June 2010.

Laurie-Why did you start your book blog?

Lydia-You. I read an interview you did on Kate Douglas and fell in love with your blog, so I made my account to follow you. I'll be honest that at first I was in for the giveaways you were doing that week (which I won one), but then I read your reviews and loved it more. Then I saw your Humorous Paranormal Challenge and wanted to do it, since I was really into reading, and wanted to do what you were doing. I wanted to read the books, review them, and let people in on what the books were like. At first it was only for the challenge, but I liked doing it and wanted to continue doing it after the challenge, so I did.

Laurie-What’s been the hardest thing to do in starting your blog?

Lydia-The design. Oh my God was that a lot of work, and it wasn't even that good in the beginning, but it was a start I guess. Once I got some pointers from a certain someone - Laurie - I got my blog in order and now I love it.

Laurie-What one advice would you give to an upcoming book blogger?

Lydia-Be patient. Your blog isn't going to come together overnight and you're not going to get the number of followers you want overnight either. You're definitely going to want to follow and look at other book blogs to get an idea on how to do it. Sorry, I guess that was two pieces of advice. Most importantly, be patient.

Laurie-What are some of your favorite books?

Lydia-Oh come on Laurie. That's not fair. That's not a fair question. I don't want to leave any out, but I'll answer as best I can. Let's see . . . there's Blink Of An Eye by Ted Dekker, Dogs and Goddesses by Jennifer Crusie, Anna Stuart, Lani Diane Rich, Indigo by Graham Joyce,The Nightwalker series by Jacquelyn Frank, Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs, Ghost Hunter series by Victoria Laurie, and the Detective Kara Gillian series by Diana Rowland.

Laurie-What are some of your favorite authors?

Lydia-Another unfair question, Laurie. But I'll answer as best as I can again. There are a lot so some are; Jacquelyn Frank, Patricia Briggs, Diana Rowland, Kathy Love, JR Ward, Linda Howard, Ted Dekker, Lori Foster, Victoria Laurie, and more but I won't go on.

Laurie-Is there a special genre you like best to read?

Lydia-Of course, paranormal. There's also urban fantasy and . . . BDSM erotica. There's something about BDSM that appeals to me. I think its with how a submissive can have total trust in their Dom that they completely let go and let their Dom push them to a pleasure they've never known. The first one I ever read was Skin Deep by Anna J. Evans and it was hot.

If you enjoyed this interview stop by Paranormal Reads and follow if you leave a comment on the post she made she will be glad to follow back she is like me always looking for new books to read!

Would you like to participate in the New blood on the block?
Here is the rules
1.follow my blog
2.Comment as much as you can and don't go over board LOL..
3.You can email me and let me know you would like to participate, but I will be on the look out for new bloggers that comments.
Last you have to have under 75 followers.

This is one wicked vampire book! If your looking for a hot vampire book with body possession, betrayal, adventure, hot M/F/M sex and some bondage, a little spanking this is a excellent one to try. I enjoyed reading all the characters even the villain.

Enrique is part of the immortal console. He is human and he knows his lover Maria is vampire, spite her using her magic to hide the fact. You have one power hungry villain, Carlos is using Maria to seduce Enrique, so he can be under his control to make the clan stronger. But what he doesn’t know is Maria love for Enrique is too strong. This story is not all m/f/m, it has one scene and the rest is mostly between the hero and heroine, except one scene, but I not telling how that one came about. Its different and you’ll have to read and find out. Oh ya, there is also use of a water spring (*wicked grin*).

Interview with erotic paranormal author S.K. Yule!

Please welcome erotic paranormal author S.K. Yule.
I have had the privilege to read and review S.K.'S eBooks and I will say they are outstanding! Please check them out after the interview on her website.

Laurie-Hello S.K. I am happy to have you here to tell all us all about your wonderful books. But first would you tell a little about what you like to do while your not writing?

S.K. Yule-I like spending time with my husband and dogs--my furry kids--just my dogs, I mean : ) . I love relaxing, reading, and watching scarey movies.

Laurie-What different paranormal creatures do you write about?

S.K. Yule-I've written about vampires, werewolves, demons and ghosts thus far, but wouldn't hesitate to write about anything paranormal.

Laurie-What is you favorite reason you like to write paranormal?

S.K. Yule-I love, love, love the unknown, the paranormal, things that cannot be explained. I think writing paranormal widens the boundaries of writing as well. And I love being scared. October is my favorite month because of Halloween and all the scarey movie marathons.

Laurie-Your vampire family the Aleksandrow’s exciting to read. Would you tell those who have never read your vampire series (Darkest) a little about it?

S.K. Yule-The Darkest series is about three brothers, Ashe, Aldin and Aiston Aleksandrov, who are vampires. They spend most of their time protecting humans from shadowdrifters, or vampires gone bad (um, badder). Suddenly, an uprising of the drifters begin, and the brothers find themselves overwhelmed, and call in other hunters to help.

While the problem with the drifters escalate throughout the series, Ashe, Aldin and Aiston must balance their lives between the uprising and finding their viata amants, or life mates. All the while, none of them have any idea that a bigger problem is brewing.
Their mother, Marilena, was foretold by none other than Ragnor, the vampire king, a prophecy concerning her sons, the uprising, and their potential deaths, hundreds of years ago. She has never told them of the prophecy or who their real father is, and has secretly been fighting fate to keep her children from facing said prophecy.

Laurie-I loved your werewolf books Lycan lover and Lycan Lust. Would you give others a peek about them? What else do you have more planned for your werewolf’s?

S.K. Yule-Lycan Lover and Lycan Lust are about alpha lycans who finally find their soul mates. And, even though the need to claim their human mates burns strong, they strive to stay in control and make sure that they fulfill all of their mates' needs. They put their instincts aside to make sure their significant others are happy.

Anthony Wolfson (Lycan Lover), and Brent Falls (Lycan Lust) are strong males who have survived many years with their morals intact even though many lycan around them are turning rogue.

Laurie-I loved the steamy scenes you have in your novellas especially the hot tub one in Lycan Lust. Would you tell your favorite one so far? I hope you can narrow it down to one LOL.

S.K. Yule-Oh my. That is a tough question. I love all of my steamy scenes, and try to make each one unique and different. If I had to pick at this very moment, I would say the bathroom scene in Darkest Desires between Aiston and Avril. I choose this one only for the fact that it was spontaneous and a little unexpected. However, if we are including scenes from unpublished works as well, I have to say I'm extremely pleased with the steamy scenes in Darkest Intentions, Darkest Book III. I hope to get it released sometime this year.

Laurie-Do you have a favorite heroine so far? If so why?

S.K. Yule-One of my favorite heroines is Rindy Trenton of Lycan Lust. I admire how strong and determined she is, and how, ultimately, not even her tragic past could keep her from trusting and loving her soul mate.

Laurie-Do you have a favorite hero you wrote so far? If so why?

S.K. Yule-I love all of my heros and strive to write them with strong characters and morals. Even though they might do things that we won't agree with at times, when it comes down to the bottom line, they will always do the right thing. So far, the funnest heros to write have been Ashe Aleksandrov (Darkest Hours, Darkest Book I), and Malachi Mannering (Darkest Intentions, Darkest Book III -- which has not been released as of yet). I like Ashe because he was my first hero and I like Malachi because he has a tortured past that makes him seem more human than vampire.

Laurie-What is you biggest influence for writing?

S.K. Yule-Knowing that I bring a little bit of contentment and spice into my readers' lives, and give them an escape, even if for a short time, from reality.

Laurie-Who are some of your favorite authors?

S.K. Yule- Sherrilyn Kenyon, Christine Feehan, Elizabeth Hoyt, Tatiana Caldwell, and Angela Knight to name a few.

Laurie-What do you have planned to come out next? Can you give us a peek in your upcoming paranormal ghost romance?

S.K. Yule-If things go as planned, Darkest Intentions, Darkest Book III and Lycan It will be my next releases.

My review

Sexual- Zero in this one

Captivating and full of humor!!! This was a wonderful read. I have always loved humor, and this page turner hit my humor spot. I would recommend this book for those that loves a good mystery, adventure, humor and a wonderful cast of characters. This book also holds some paranormal aspects, but this is not a romance novel, so there is no HEA or sex.

This is a fun book about Lucy running her family match-making service for a couple of weeks. The thing is Lucy has a touch of physic in her. After she takes over for the first day she has a client that she really wants to help and when she touches him she sees a missing ring, the thing is its on a dead body. From here Lucy gets in deep and between running the match-making service, trying to solve the mystery of the ring and help the client, she also goes out to help a little boy. But wait that’s not all she also has sparks that starts up with a certain PI named Sean. Needless to say she has her hands full.

My favorite passage

Sean as he is putting the shovel back in the car he asks “What now ? Should we rob a bank or something to make our day complete?”
Lucy “No need to be sarcastic”
Sean “Forgive me, but I don’t dig up dead people everyday”

Very unique demon world and a good start for the first of a series. Each demon feeds off of humans fears in different ways. It makes for an interesting storyline. You have 5 hot brothers with their mom as the leader.

Unfortunately for me I just couldn’t get into this book like I really wanted. I wanted to learn more about the heroine Selina and I didn’t like how she just rolled over and believe in the demons and Delius. The story starts out slow but builds more in the middle. Over all its good read, I really liked the brothers and the storyline

A emotional heartfelt story that takes you back to Indians and the wild west. I enjoyed reading this adventure. If you’d like to go back in time with a time hot Indian time traveler name Ethan that takes a white wife and has power of the unknown then give this a try. I enjoyed the cast of characters especially Good-Looking-Woman.

I liked both the hero and heroine they were great to read. The only thing I found wrong is it dragged for me at times. Don’t take this book too lightly, it has some great hardships one is where the heroine Cesca has to stand in the sun for three days, because she helped her brother escape. But this is where Meko (Ethan) Steps up and shows his powers. There is a list of Cheyenne words in the back to make your reading easier

With divine good looks, delectable charms, and delicious wealth, he would seem to be every marriage-minded mother’s dream match for their daughters. But not so, given the mysterious death of his first wife. Fortunately for Gabriel, he has no plans to seriously court any of the London ladies ever again. That is, until he shares one unforgettable dance with a mysterious stranger….
Exquisitely beautiful though decidedly modest, Lady Sophia usually shuns the festive ballrooms of London society. But when a man who calls himself “Reign” enters her life—seemingly from out of nowhere—and shows her true kindness, her wary young heart begins to melt. Of course, Sophia would be shocked to learn the truth about Reign’s past. But when scandal strikes, this devilish stranger may be her only salvation

My Review

I really enjoyed this book, but then again I do love a good scandal with a devilish hot wicked man, so this one hit the spot. This book gave me a mystery, emotions, excitement and lots of suspires. I just really wish I would have read the first novel, because the first part was a little confusing, then I caught on and I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough.

Some spoilers
What I loved most about this book was as I kept reading, I really found Reign and Sophie was really made to be together. Sophie has a small problem she was hit in the head when she was a child and lost some of her eye site and had to use a walker to get around. She is staying with her brother Stephen in London and goes to a dance, she meets Reign there. She knows the gossip about his late dead wife and doesn’t believe them, but her bother does. When Reign is found alone with her Stephen goes nuts and tells her never to see Reign again. Ya right, like that’s going to happen, as you know she does see Reign again and things goes well until, her so called brother gives Sophie away in a card game for marriage to another man. Well you’ll have to read to find out how Reign and his devilish ways comes to save the day for Sophie. Let me tell you she needs saving the way her bother treats her grrr!

The book does drag a bit, but was well worth the read for me, so much so I will be reading the first and book three now.

Guest author Monica Burns with giveaway

Monica is here to day to talk about her new up coming release Assassin's Heart. Please give her a huge welcome!

Monica's Bio
An award-winning author of erotic romance, Monica Burns penned her first short romance story at the age of nine when she selected the pseudonym she uses today. From the days when she hid her stories from her sisters to her first completed full-length manuscript, she always believed in her dream despite rejections and setbacks. A workaholic wife and mother, Monica believes it’s possible for the good guy to win if they work hard enough

Hi everyone, I’m excited to be back here at Bitten by Paranormal Romance. I love talking books and what goes into them. So thanks for having me back to talk about my upcoming release Assassin’s Heart, the second book in my Order of the Sicari series.

Paranormal. It’s still the hottest thing on the market right now. We love it, can’t get enough of it. And when my agent asked me to write a paranormal series, my first reaction was, OMG, I can’t write paranormal. I don’t know how to write vampires, werewolves or shifters. I only know history.

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m a HUGE fan of paranormals. Feehan, Ward, Angela Knight, Showalter and many others are a hard act to follow when you try to write something different for the genre. My favorite shows are Warehouse 13, Medium and GhostWhisperer (both cancelled – Grrr) and Sanctuary. I am a diehard fan of all things paranormal, but when you’re a writer of historicals, it’s hard to switch bats in the middle of the game. So when I developed my Sicari heroes, the first thing that came out of my fingers was…you guessed it, historical content. It was five pages of a Roman general and his wife having an intimate moment. Just for kicks, here a small portion of what I wrote.

He watched her. From the open doorway of the small spa, he studied the voluptuous curves of her body as she stepped out of the marble bath. A slave tried to cloak her in a pristine white cloth, but with an elegant wave of her hand, she took the towel and sent the servant away. Tendrils of hair the color of a midnight sky escaped the makeshift knot on the top of her head to caress the nape of her neck.
Outside the final heat of the day had eased, leaving Rome cool. But in here, his body burned hotter than Apollo’s chariot blazing its way into the west. Marble cooled his shoulder as he leaned against the hard column of the bath’s entrance. The stone’s chilly smoothness did nothing to quench the fire in his blood or stop his cock from growing hard at the sight of her.
Arms folded across his chest, he drank in the beauty of her full curves. The olive bronze of her skin shimmered beneath the layer of water skimming down her back before it danced off her softly rounded buttocks. The lushness of her body shot a familiar ache through him. Cassiopeia, daughter of Manius Quinctilia Atellus, Roman senator, was his.
There had always been women in his life, but the idea of leaving a wife behind if he died in battle wasn’t a worry he’d been willing to accept. Of course, that was before she chose him. What had made her choose him over all others? He was a soldier. A plebian by birth. Far removed from the patrician clan she belonged too. It was doubtful he would ever know the reason why, he could only thank the gods that she had chosen him.
His gaze greedily swept over her, his body reacting as it always did whenever he was near her. He suppressed a sudden growl of desire as she bent over to pat her legs dry with the linen towel. The view from this angle was more than enticing—it was erotic. He remained where he was. He had no desire to rush tonight. If he did do so, she’d know he would be gone at dawn.

When I wrote that scene, I already had the rough background of my heroes fleshed out, and I didn’t have a clue as to why that scene just popped into my head. But as a writer, I’ve come to trust my instincts, so I tucked that scene away until last year when I was beginning to flesh out Lysander’s story. I had planned on flash back scenes in the book to explain how the Sicari had come into being, but I really wasn’t sure how to do it. Then I remembered my Roman General and his wife, and before I knew it, I was pulling all the pieces together into a past life story.

When I think about my qualms writing a paranormal, I didn’t realize I already knew how to write paranormals. I just didn’t realize that the paranormals I write are of the other worldly kind. One of the best things about being a writer is to write about things you know, and past lives are something I know a fair amount about. Primarily because I’ve had past life regression done, and I’ve discovered that I’ve lived at least three lives. None of them rich and fancy, in fact I was dirt poor in two of them. And in those two I lost my life by hanging and beheading. Suffice it to say, it explains a lot when I tell you that I’ve NEVER been able to wear turtlenecks, chokers of any typed of clothing too close to my neck.

With Lysander and Phaedra, I set up certain issues they had to deal with that tied back directly to their past lives in ancient Rome. Primarily because the whole concept of past lives is that you return to get a second chance. You come back to make up for what you did wrong and you come back to get it right. For Lysander and Phaedra, they get it right the second time around and as a result they get the HEA they only briefly had in the past.

So what about you? Do you think you’ve lived before? If so, what kind of life do you think you had? We will get back to this question for the give away.

The truth of the soul.
Lysander Condellarie never understood why he had telepathic and telekinetic powers until the night his Praetorian father tortured him and left him for dead.
