It’s been a while since I hit a book that I didn’t like, I knew it was coming. Goddess with a Blade is pure Urban Fantasy and one I didn’t care for. I got this book off of netgalley under romance (they so need a category for UF) and as most of you know romance is what I love, so I figured since I loved Lauren Dane’s Chase brothers this one would be alright, so not, I should have looked on Lauren website before I requested this one ugh. The majority of the book is written in Rownas POV and the romance is so not there, but you do get a couple of sex scenes. I have to hand it to Lauren she can go from romance to urban fantasy very easy. If you’re a UF reader you’d love I because it has your typical bad lady lead that loves fast cars, and let me tell you she has the mouth action that goes along with the kick butt action. The villain is very dangers and creepy, so this bring me to let you know this is not for the faint of heart. If you’re a romance reader looking for a paranormal love story you may want to wait for some more reviews before going out and buying it.

This was a very emotional read for me. This was a very heavy relationship story with a lot of interesting dialogue and steamy romance scenes. Although there was a D/s theme with bondage and some minor spanking/flogging, it wasn't described in enough detail to make you squeamish if that subject bothers you. The story takes place over several years which allows for a lot of growth and changes in the three main characters. One aspect of this story that I found unique was that none of the characters sought the D/s lifestyle because of issues in their past. Instead of needing a reason for it, they approached it as something that they simply preferred and enjoyed. I also liked that although the characters were flawed, they never blamed others for any of their issues.

The second book for the Brown family. I found it not as good as the first, but its still a good erotic romance. You’ll read about the whole family again plus you get another glimpse into Erin’s bedroom with her two men, so this one does have m/m and more m/m interaction then in the first book. You still get excitement, mixed emotions with a added bonus of a hot tattoo, body piercing man with a goatee named Brody who owns his own tattoo studio.

Elise and daughter Rennie moves across the street form Brody after something horrible happens to her a few years back. Elise finds Brody across the street to be a hot looking bad boy. Well one day while Brody was checking his mail someone runs over him with a car , Elise see what happens she tells Rennie to get the cell phone and first aid kit. Brody calls Elsie a angel. When Brody comes home form hospital is when things heats up between them. Both Brody and Elise have a relationship more like friends with benefits, but no sleeping around on each other.

I found Elise easy to read. With all she goes through she is strong. Daughter does not get in the way, Dane does a great job with adding her in the story. Brody is great sexy hot guy anyone would want. The only beef I had was Raven, but I guess you have to have a bad guy somewhere. This book brings Adrian Brown in more, so you get to know a little on him. I assume the next book will be about him.

This one has too much BSDM as in PAIN!!! and M/M in this one for me, I couldn‘t finish it.. Plus the story line is different, but the book is also similar to Laid Bare.. I will suggest for those like me who likes D/s with out pain and less M/M please go with Laid Bare..
I also didn’t enjoy the characters or the story line.

This book its full of emotions and HOT sex and more emotions.. Out of all the ménage books, I have read this one tops in the ménage seen, Dane goes in to detail so, well you don’t miss anything, I thought they were SMOKING HOT.. Although I don’t normally like this kind of BDSM (I can’t stand pain..) or the M/M (that is very light) I loved this book, Plus I nerve felt no type of degrading in this book as in some BDSM books.

I really loved Erin, Todd and Ben together they each complemented each other in lots of ways. Erin known’s what she wants and not one bit afraid to say it.. I really liked the story line I have not come across many books with rock stars..

Can't wait for the next book..

My Review

I have to say Dane has made my favorite author list, I know these are erotic books but Dane's books are different they are not just full of sex like most erotic, you'll find romance in these books and great story lines. When there is sex its great and tasteful.

This is a great series you get close to the whole Chase family, each book each book comes with a different emotion you'll find yourself falling in love with the mother of these boys Polly and wish you had one like her.

This one is the first book out of all the books I have read over the last year that made me cry I'm not one for crying emotion here, but Dane writes Tate so well its like you can feel what she went through you don't get that much in a book..
