Review

Shaw does any amazing job creating a standalone, for any series, I have to read in order freak, like me.  I didn’t feel like I was missing anything. Kudos.

The characters are really great, but I could have used more background on Bridget, I didn’t feel like I got to really know her as much as I did Connor. They are both lovable, not annoying in any way.

The downside to me was, the book is very predictable. I am not going to host any spoilers, but the connection between Conner and the kid was just too similar, I could see where it was all going to lead to and I could tell what the villain was going to do with the heroine before it happened.

It would have been wonderful if the villain had his POV. He got one tiny paragraph which didn’t help me fully feel the whole connection like I would have liked to. I could see it just not feel it.
I would have enjoyed the book more if there was more shown by the characters eyes, not telling.

There are a few scenes that I would have loved more details on. For example, the where they go to the BDSM club, I wanted to see what was going on around them when they entered, give me a picture as I read of what the characters are seeing, smelling, touching. I know this cannot be done the whole time, but there are times I want to be in the character's mind. I want to know what they are seeing, feeling etc. I know this is picky, but I really do miss this in books nowadays and this is why I don’t read so much anymore too. When I read I want to feel like I am in the story, not someone just telling me the story.

Would I still recommend this book? Yes, this is a new author that I know loves to learn and I know once she starts digging into the world more, the more she will apply to her stories. I can see her really growing in the next few years

Your presence is requested at romantic Twill Castle for the wedding of Miss Clio Whitmore and . . . and . . . ?

After eight years of waiting for Piers Brandon, the wandering Marquess of Granville, to set a wedding date, Clio Whitmore has had enough. She's inherited a castle, scraped together some pride, and made plans to break her engagement.

Not if Rafe Brandon can help it. A ruthless prizefighter and notorious rake, Rafe is determined that Clio will marry his brother—even if he has to plan the dratted wedding himself.

So how does a hardened fighter cure a reluctant bride's cold feet?
● He starts with flowers. A wedding can't have too many flowers. Or harps. Or cakes.

● He lets her know she'll make a beautiful, desirable bride—and tries not to picture her as his.

● He doesn't kiss her.

● If he kisses her, he definitely doesn't kiss her again.

● When all else fails, he puts her in a stunning gown. And vows not to be nearby when the gown comes off.

● And no matter what—he doesn't fall in disastrous, hopeless love with the one woman he can never call his own.

I think the opening scene pretty much set up the tone of this book as classic Tessa Dare. She is very good at "dare" I say, romantic comedy, but in a historical setting so to speak. Even though I must use the term Historical as say, more of and idea, than actuality within the premise of this book.

The opening scene has us seeing Clio as she walks in on Rafe, thinking he's ready to give up and hang himself when in fact, he's only setting up his boxing punching bag for training. The shenanigans don't stop there, they pretty much continue throughout the book, including a scene involving the dog, a ruby ring, and Rafe's trainer, Bruiser. Yeah it was really gross.

Miss Clio Whitmore, AKA Miss "Waitmore" as she has been dubbed, and Rafe have have been friends since childhood, in their youth Rafe always teased her and pulled mischievous tricks on her. Now he is wanting to "play" with Clio in a different manner all together.  Yet he is at odds because she is his brother's fiance. Rafe pretty much spends the entire book trying to convince Clio that she does in fact want to be married to Piers, and fighting the attraction that he has carried for her since his youth and yes the love he has for her.

Clio and Rafe had really good chemistry together, but Clio herself did not have much of a backbone. I blame that on her overly critical mother and her less than supportive family. Cleo's older sister Daphne is a witch, with a Capital B, a social climber and more than a bit annoying.  Daphne's soft in the middle husband Teddy is no better, with their crude remarks constantly about Clio's weight.  Her younger sister Phoebe was a nice break to watch although she was a bit quirky, with a touch of "Rain Man" about her, but I look forward to reading her story.

Recommended for fans of Tessa Dare, and anyone wanting a nice Romance, with a little bit of comedic flair thrown in, plenty of sexual heat that does not go unanswered, and if Historical accuracy is of no concern, well this book is for you.

I did enjoy the book, I enjoyed the progression of the relationship between Rafe and Clio very much. It was a quick read and certainly not one that's going to have your heart tugging and pulling at strings just to see the H/H get together, but it was pleasant. Even though the historical accuracy was really a joke, which usually does drive me insane, for some reason didn't really bother me that much.  A nice afternoon read overall.

A powerful warrior and commander of the dark elf legions, Bleu is a loyal and devoted male, and one who has never failed in anything—except one thing. Love. When an elusive female dragon shifter surfaces in Hell again, giving him a mission to hurl himself into, he gladly returns to his hunt for her and the deadly blade she stole from his prince seven centuries ago, but as he closes in on his prey, fate reveals she is far more than his enemy.

Having escaped from the black market arena and her life as a slave, Taryn sets her sights back on the task she began seven hundred years ago when her brother stole a precious sword, but in the three centuries she’s been a captive, everything has changed. Corrupted by a craving for power, her brother has become dangerously obsessed with finding the blade and using it to claim the ultimate treasure—the position of King of Hell.

Faced with having to end her beloved twin brother to stop him from bringing all of Hell to its knees before him, will Taryn be strong enough to use the very blade he seeks against him? And when Bleu finally catches his elusive prey, will he listen to his head as it demands he complete his mission or his heart as it demands he claim his eternal mate?
Felicity Heaton never disappoints when it comes to creating a paranormal world and characters that a reader can truly fall in love with.

The story is very good and I enjoyed both Bleu and Taryn as a couple, I just had a few issues I myself couldn’t believe. Taryn is several centuries old and she is still a virgin and let’s not forget the fact she was also a slave by six different owners during this time. I’m sorry I just couldn’t fathom how she could still be a virgin after all of the time without some kind of explanation. Her character could have been a bit stronger for my taste too. I really liked her, but I felt she was really weak for the storyline.

Other than that, I found a lot of action, a very evil villain and a hot passionate romance between Bleu and Taryn and would recommend this series and book to all paranormal romance lovers.

Review Sci-Fi romance Camille's Capture by Evanne Lorraine

Title: Camille’s Capture

Camille, a plump, sweet-natured breeder, is caught in New Eden’s endless war with Baldor. Her mates, Jaxon and Aegis, need cunning and courage to rescue her. They need a miracle to capture her heart.

Warning: This story contains two searing hot alpha males and a sweet, but very determined and lushly curved woman. There’s also plenty of violence, red-hot sex, alien naked naughty bits, male/male intimacy and multiple partner interludes.

Camille’s Capture is a hot Erotic Romance that will leave you panting for more.

It’s amazing to me how many readers has this labeled erotica because it not. Camille Capture has a plot and romance with a Happy Ever After, so it’s Erotic Romance. I loved the story behind Camille is a breeder but she fails to get pregnant after several tries on Earth so she is set to a different planet to find warriors. I enjoyed the back story about Aegis and how he deals with the issue of his best friend truing to be his lover.

You’ll find some very hot M/M/F and M/F/M sex. Both males goes both ways so there is something for every erotic story lover. Beware if you don’t like anal sex because there is lots of it. I have to give the author kudos she as has a very good imagination, the way she describes the Aegis as a demon is very vivid. I will say this he is built for sex;)

The downside for me was Camille is a virgin and to be able to take on these guys without more preparation just wasn’t believable. At first she didn’t want to stay with them and this lasted for a while then all all the sudden it wasn’t a problem  for her to be with them and she was even helping them stay together. I don’t mind that the sudden change but I like to know why the character changes suddenly.

I recommend this one to those that loves a good hot sci-fi adventure.

From the best-selling author of Changeling Moon, this stirring novel of passion and magic launches an addictive new series for fans of paranormal romance.

Rating 3 1/2

Storm Warrior is a book for those that like more story then romance. I really loved the Celtic world and the characters, but as a romance reader I want the romance in the story to the main part in the world building or storyline. At first you read about Morgan having dreams about a man and then she meets him, but what happens after that it falls flat. It’s not that I just want sex in a book, I’ve read lots of romance books with no sex but I felt those characters romance grow as the story progressed, but not Morgan and Rhys, they didn't even stay together long enough for their romance to develop.

I really could relate to Morgan and I loved how strong she was, but I felt she didn’t want to give Rhys a chance and that she just wasted too much time being apart from him just because she couldn’t see his side of things. Rhys really doesn’t know how to handle things between him and Morgan, but I understand where he is coming from since he has been in Grim form for so many years.

Again a great story, but you just won’t find romance being a top priority. The world is really great and easy to understand so I can see a lot of readers liking this story.

My Review:

3.5 Stars!!! A cute paranormal romance featuring ghost hunters, ghosts, demons, murder, kidnapping and an unlikely romance.

Betty "Boo" Boorman is a member of "the Savannah Spirit Seekers [who] have been investigating reported hauntings in Savannah, Georgia, for the past two years."

They get called to investigate a haunting with another Savannah ghost hunting team. During a press conference for the case, Betty notices a man staring at her from the shadows ... with red eyes! When the press conference is over she tries to find him but he's gone.

Later that night while finishing her wine at the bar, she meets a "most beautiful man" who tells her it's his job to know what to do to help her other client and gives her a card which reads "Maxwell, Demon" He tells her, "When you decide you want to know what’s haunting Sam MacIntosh, give me a call" and leaves. When Sam's case gets physical, Betty decides to call Maxwell for more insight into the case. They have dinner and he gives her something to get rid of Sam's haunting entity. She still doesn't believe Maxwell is a demon until after their second 'date' and then he proves it to her in several ways. Much to her consternation, she finds she's falling for him. When he tells her he's falling for her, she's lost.

A quick read and fans of ghost hunting stories and television shows should like this.

Rating: 3 1/2

There was a lot that I liked about this book but I also had a few issues. Overall it’s a good quick novella read and it’s one if you want to know what’s happening in the next book, you can’t miss it.

I like the how the author keeps the whole Woods family voices in the book. I also enjoyed the mating scene. My issues was the romance between these two felt a bit more rushed than the first book. Plus these two spend their time having sex. So I felt I missed their connection. I also didn’t care for the sex scene where Krista lost her virginity, it read more like she has sex all of her life instead of the first time. But yet she was in a hurry to get rid of her problem LOL.

I really liked the cliffhanger ending it makes you want the next book right then. I hope in the next book we will get how these guys became shifters and I hope Krista’s sister gives the dad a run for his money. She already seems to be one out for herself. It would be great to be able to get more into the minds of the brothers and get more detail about them.

Rating 3 1/2

Ashley has a very well written book and she does a good job in telling her story. But I have to admit I was looking for something a little different. This is a story about a woman who has had breast cancer and meets a demigod. The thing is you read about Mandy’s drama with her ex and her cancer and you don’t get to know about the paranormal aspects of the story until almost the middle of the book and it’s very light on the paranormal.

I liked Mandy but she was so hung up on her ex that she almost missed someone special in her life and I couldn’t figure it out for the likes of me why. The dead beat ex dumps her when she is in need of someone, he tires to sabotage her new relationship and even tires to kill her but yet she still can’t get past him. WAHTEVER! LOL. This is just a few things the ex does. Yep, there’s more.

Justin I did really like, I also enjoyed how the author went about his story and bringing his dad back to him.

I read PNR to get away from everyday life’s drama and this one brings you into  it. So that's the biggest reason I couldn’t get it into this story.

You get a good drama roll between the characters and some great sex. Just don’t expect some kind of huge paranormal roll like most RNR book because this is a light paranormal romance. I do suggest if you like some of the aspects of the book please do give try it.

ARC review Ecstasy Untamed by Pamela Palmer

Title:Ecstasy Untamed (Feral Warriors, #6)
Author Pamela Palmer
Source: Netgalley
Genre: paranormal romance- shifter
Format: Mass paperback
Release date: 10/25/11

They are called Feral Warriors—an elite band of immortals who can change shape at will. Sworn to rid the world of evil, consumed by sorcery and seduction, their wild natures are primed for release . . .

Shattered by recent nightmarish events, Hawke feels his bond with his animal spirit weakening—and once it breaks, he’s finished. The arrival of Faith sends his life spinning even further out of control, for although she delights him and enflames his deepest primal passions, she’s promised to Maxim, the newest Feral Warrior.

Rating : 3 1/2

Faith is drawn to Hawke from the start, but Maxim holds her in his thrall and has secretly bent her to his malevolent will. Though gravely damaged, Hawke is the only one who can end Faith’s slavery and protect the Feral Warriors from Maxim’s evil designs. But first they both must embrace the wild . . . and surrender body and soul to a forbidden, all-consuming ecstasy.

Pamela’s stories just keep getting deeper as they go. I really enjoyed the way she came about with the threat to the Warriors this time around, it was different.

I have enjoyed reading this series but this one was borderline for me. I enjoyed some of it but yet some of it I didn’t. Pamela writes on the darker side with each of her warriors but this one the heroine really tore at me.. I felt so bad for her but again she was the one that chose the route to go with the Feral, but she didn’t want the abuse. What I disliked most was she was abused while in the Warriors house and it took them a bit to even find out. But I have to admit Pamela gave this heroine so much at the end, so it was worth reading all of it. I am still scratching my head over the one sex scene between her and Hawke. It’s not that I mind reading ruff and somewhat bloody sex it’s just Faith keeps saying she was never a person that would be a victim of violence but yet she’s having very rough sex… And yes, I know she was possessed but I am still confused with it..

As always you get a fast pace action story. You also get to read about the other Warriors and their wife’s. I hope Vhyper starts bugging Pamela soon because I can’t wait for his book.

Review Bunny And The Bear by Eve Langlais

Title: Bunny And The Bear
Author: Eve Langlais
Genre: Paranormal romance
Source: Request by author
Length: Novella eBook

Paranormal/Shifter Romance

What’s a poor bear to do when all he wants is some sweet, bunny pie?

Bears and bunnies aren’t supposed to mix, or that’s what Chase keeps telling himself when his bouncy new neighbor won’t stay out of his business—and his mind. However, the more he gets to know his overly perky neighbor, the more he craves her—naked in his grasp—a desire worse than his addiction to honey and pie.

Miranda’s on a mission for the Furry United Coalition, and it involves secretly guarding one grumpy ol’ bear. Staying focused on the job isn’t easy when all she can think about is turning his frown upside down, a task made harder when she gets a glimpse of his passion. When she hears about his theory on woodland creatures and predators not mixing, she thinks all is lost, but she didn’t count on a bear’s curious nature—and possessive need.

When an evil force abducts Chase, Miranda unleashes her bunny in order to save him, but the revelation of her shifter side puts her in danger. Is one ornery bear enough to save her from a mad scientist? And if he does, can a bear forget her woodland creature status long enough to love her and make her his mate?

Warning: Pies were harmed in the making of this story and naughty references made about honey that might offend some readers.

3 1/2 stars

Bunny and the Bear is very funny and sexy. I did like the story plot and I am looking forward to more stories to come. Most of the time I find I don’t like very perky heroines but in this story the bear’s grouchiness off sets it and of course makes it funny and interesting to read because you never know what’s going to happen next between them. Then there’s the fun sexual tension that’s added in this story. I just have to spoil one sorry because I am not stopping. One scene Miranda is masturbating in her apartment. Chase comes knocking and she answers the door. You know what he smells right *wicked grin*. The next thing that happens, Miranda offers her fingers for him to lick when he refuses she licks them herself as a tease. Oh yeah, you have to read this book just to get the whole story in that scene because I was laughing my butt off.

I myself really wanted to get into the head of the villain. Eve has stated she is going to continue writing more so I hope she will tap into the villains head and let us know what he is about. I’m like the rest of you, we know every character is important in the story and you want to know what’s going on in their heads.

I recommend this to anyone who loves some humor and hot sex.

Rating
3 1/2

Edie Ramer brings out all the stops for fun in this one. I have read a couple of Edie’s books and I think this is the sexist one yet she has wrote yet. This is a good reading about these three female aliens that comes to earth escaping the crazy men on their planet. They have some crazy powers and when they are ovulating. Lookout! lol.

This book didn’t pull out all of the stops in romance department for me, although it’s a very fun book, the romance between Phyrne and Hawk was not to much to my liking. There’s a time lapse that happens at first, they met had sex then it‘s 6 years into the future. But even after that they still stay apart the biggest part of the book, reason Phyrne didn’t want her baby taken from her like she had on her planet. I myself like a couple to be more active with each other and that doesn’t necessarily have to be in the sex department LOL then again that’s just me.

I would recommend this to someone who wants some humorous fun and some hot moments.

No! Phyrne’s mental scream sliced through Deena’s walls. Deena looked at her, grimacing, lifting one hand to the side of her head.
“I’ll stop them.” Phyrne pushed past Deena. She was older and stronger than Deena, plus she possessed a powerful weapon. The ultimate weapon.
She was ovulating.

Cover- I love it and the next book in this series is very nice too..

3 1/2 starts
This is going to be a hard review. I love this author and the way she writes, but this book just didn’t do it for me the way I wanted it to. Felicity tells the story in great deal, so be prepared for a long book, it was 700 pgs. on my kindle. At the first some things are repeated and it dragged in the middle for me.

I loved the characters, the mythological story elements and the reincarnated story life of Lauren. What I didn’t like was how the hero Julian was portrayed and how Lauren treated him in the past. I would feel sorry for Julian at times and then there are times when I felt Julian was a wimp. There are some other things that happen that will make you very emotional. I hate to get caught up with a character and then poof they are gone, but it makes every thing more real. As for the sex between the hero and heroine, they have quite a bit of sexual tension from the start then it keeps building, but you won’t see any real action until your almost at 600 pages. So for those of you who love the sex action be patient.

Over all the action and danger along with the mythological story made for a good book, so I would suggest this to anyone loves these elements in a book.

My Review

Rating 3 1/2

This is a very nice dark emotional novel poem . If you’re into paranormal and poems and want something a little different this would be it. The story starts out as Alice is dreaming of being born and something is not quite right. Then she meets a mysterious man that disappears right before her eyes and the story grows from there. It starts out slow, but picks up in the middle, with a very nice ending.

This is very well written and to tell you the truth it surprised me how good it was. I would also suggest this one for young adults that’s into vampires, especially if you cant get them to read poems this would be a very good experience for them. But if you’re a regular paranormal romance reader you may want to look at other reviews before running out to buy this one, its not your typical PNR book.

Book description
Rosalind Rutherford knows full well the scandal she courts when she attempts to seduce the notorious Armond Wulf—in fact, she’s counting on it as a means to escape her sadistic stepbrother’s control. Unfortunately, Lord Wulf’s better instincts prevail...although not before he gives Rosalind a tantalizing taste of what she’s missing. And when the opportunity arises to rescue Armond from a grim fate while changing her own, Rosalind knows she must seize it...

Armond can no more ignore the Rutherford woman than his ancestor could resist the temptress who cursed the Wulf men with a terrifying transformation that occurs at the appearance of the full moon—and is set in motion by love. Now, to save her reputation and his freedom, Armond must marry Rosalind. But he vows that while they may share the pleasures of the marriage bed, she will never have his heart...

Yet as strange and mysterious events bring them closer in body and soul, Armond finds it increasingly difficult to keep his feelings for his new wife locked away. Especially when the reality of unquenchable desire—and certain danger—burn stronger than ever by the light of a full moon...

This is a very good quick read. If you like historical and paranormal this one would be good to try. This book puts high society right on the map with all its betrayals then add a twisted stepbrother, he will make you so mad at how he treats his mom and stepsister Rosalind.

Rosalind finds herself to be wed to a man she knows nothing about. Her step bro. has set this up to pay off his gambling debt. But as you read more you’ll find the step bro has gone deeper than just money with this man and let me say its disgusting. Rosalind has thought up a way to rid herself of this predicament, she is going to rid herself of her virtue. And she knows just who to go to for this, his name is Armond. But what Rosalind finds in Armond is something different and when she leaves him she still has her virtue. The next thing that happens Armond finds himself in jail. Rosalind knows he didn’t do the crime so she helps get him out of jail in return the help ends up twisted on her and she ends up as Armond wife. One thing she doesn’t really know is there is a curse on Armond’s family will she help or hurt the curse.

I like both Rosalind and Armond. You get to read some about Armond brothers so you know they are just as hot as Armond

I read these in order but they could be read out of order.
