Interview with the Feral Warrior, Tighe

Monique here, with my weekly Spotlight on the Enclaves column for the Club Alex News. It’s been ages since any of the Feral Warriors has visited the Alexandria Therian enclave, though we keep hearing of dangerous battles and harrowing escapes. So I thought it was time to find out what’s going on. I called Feral House yesterday and got a chance to talk to Tighe briefly. Tighe is such a sweetie! Too bad he’s a mated male, now, right ladies? Below is the text of our chat.

Me: Tighe! You and Hawke scared us to death. We thought you were lost for good in that spirit trap. Are you okay?

Tighe: Fine, Monique. Thank you. Actually, I’m better than fine. Delaney and I are going to have a son.

Me: I heard! That news spread like wildfire. Have you decided on his name?

Tighe: Not yet. Delaney is leaning toward Lars, which was my name before I was marked. But I’m leaning more toward a modern American name. Seems more fitting, although I don’t have a favorite at the moment. Jag wants us to name him Tigger. Jag will probably call him Tigger no matter what his name is. Could be worse.

Me: What about Hawke? How’s he doing?

Tighe: Not as well as we’d like, Monique. Hawke was more severely affected by the trap than I was. Delaney kept me tethered to my animal. Hawke and his bird were nearly ripped apart and it’s causing…problems.

Me: I’m so sorry to hear that. Hawke’s a favorite of all the enclaves. Is there any sign of the new fox shifter? The men in the enclaves are driving us crazy asking, “Does that look like a feral mark to you?”

Tighe: Yeah, that happens every time a Feral dies, though word spreads so much faster now than it used to. You can let everyone know that we just got word that the new fox shifter has been found. His name is Maxim and he’ll be flying in from Poland any day now.

Me: Poland? Do any of you know him?

Tighe: No, not yet.

Me: So is it true what we’re hearing—that the Mage are trying to free Satanan and his horde from the Daemon blade?

Tighe: Yes, Monique, I’m afraid it’s true. But we’re doing our damndest to make sure they don’t succeed. We’ve seen wraith Daemons, seen what they can do, and we’ll die before we let those things terrorize the world again. I give you my word on that.

Me: I’m glad, but…that’s really scary, Tighe.

Tighe: The Ferals will handle it, Monique. We won’t let you down.

Me: You’ve never let us down, Tighe. We know you’ll be victorious.

Tighe: Monique, tell everyone hi, but I have to go. We’re about to head out draden hunting and I want to check on Delaney before I go.

Me: Thanks for talking with me, Tighe! Give Delaney my best and let Hawke know we’re all thinking of him.

ARC review Ecstasy Untamed by Pamela Palmer

Title:Ecstasy Untamed (Feral Warriors, #6)
Author Pamela Palmer
Source: Netgalley
Genre: paranormal romance- shifter
Format: Mass paperback
Release date: 10/25/11

They are called Feral Warriors—an elite band of immortals who can change shape at will. Sworn to rid the world of evil, consumed by sorcery and seduction, their wild natures are primed for release . . .

Shattered by recent nightmarish events, Hawke feels his bond with his animal spirit weakening—and once it breaks, he’s finished. The arrival of Faith sends his life spinning even further out of control, for although she delights him and enflames his deepest primal passions, she’s promised to Maxim, the newest Feral Warrior.

Rating : 3 1/2

Faith is drawn to Hawke from the start, but Maxim holds her in his thrall and has secretly bent her to his malevolent will. Though gravely damaged, Hawke is the only one who can end Faith’s slavery and protect the Feral Warriors from Maxim’s evil designs. But first they both must embrace the wild . . . and surrender body and soul to a forbidden, all-consuming ecstasy.

Pamela’s stories just keep getting deeper as they go. I really enjoyed the way she came about with the threat to the Warriors this time around, it was different.

I have enjoyed reading this series but this one was borderline for me. I enjoyed some of it but yet some of it I didn’t. Pamela writes on the darker side with each of her warriors but this one the heroine really tore at me.. I felt so bad for her but again she was the one that chose the route to go with the Feral, but she didn’t want the abuse. What I disliked most was she was abused while in the Warriors house and it took them a bit to even find out. But I have to admit Pamela gave this heroine so much at the end, so it was worth reading all of it. I am still scratching my head over the one sex scene between her and Hawke. It’s not that I mind reading ruff and somewhat bloody sex it’s just Faith keeps saying she was never a person that would be a victim of violence but yet she’s having very rough sex… And yes, I know she was possessed but I am still confused with it..

As always you get a fast pace action story. You also get to read about the other Warriors and their wife’s. I hope Vhyper starts bugging Pamela soon because I can’t wait for his book.

Interview with Paranromal author Pamela Palmer

I had the privilege to get an interview with author Pamela Palmer. I hope you enjoy the interview and if you haven't read the books please check them out.

Laurie- Would you please give us a little about yourself?

Pamela-Hi Laurie, I'm delighted to be here! I grew up wanting to be an astronaut, wound up majoring in engineering in school, and didn't realize I wanted to be a writer until one of my daydreams grew too big for my head and I decided to write it down. Who knew you could craft entire books out of daydreams? I sold my first book to Silhouette Nocturne in 2006 and have since sold thirteen, nine of which are on the shelves. Three more are written (book 5 in the Feral Warriors series and the final two books in the Esri series for Nocturne). Hunger Untamed comes out 2/22/11. The Nocturnes, I'm still waiting on release dates for.

Laurie-I simply love your Feral Warriors series. Would you tell those who have never read or heard about them, something about your wonderful series?

Pamela-The premise behind the Feral Warriors series is that there are only nine shape-shifters left in the world. At one time, the entire immortal Therian race was able to shift -- many different clans, dozens of different animal shifters. But five thousand years ago, the Therians and their traditional enemies, the Mage, joined forces to defeat the Daemons, mortgaging the majority of their power in the process. Now only one of each of the ancient shifter lines retains the power of his animal and the ability to shift. The nine known as the Feral Warriors. While each book in the series is a stand-alone romance, each is also another chapter in the larger story that will eventually come to a big, climactic ending. Five thousand years ago, the Daemons were defeated and incarcerated, but they're not gone. And now they're growing stronger again, once more threatening the world.

Laurie-You have 9 Feral Warriors. Is this the amount of books your going to write total? Or maybe add more Warriors to this already great cast?

Pamela-Good question and I can't give you an answer right now, because I just don't know.

Laurie-With all the magic and rituals you have in your books, do you spend a lot of time researching?

Pamela-No, that's one of the things I love about writing paranormals. I research locations, which is pretty easy since I live in the D.C. area. But most everything else comes out of my imagination.

Laurie- Now lets take a little on your heroine’s you have. I have to say out of all the series I have read I love your heroines, they are all strong and each one added to each warrior by their special abilities. Are these abilities hard or easy to come up with when you start a book? And would you tell us your favorite heroine so far?

Pamela-Thank you, Laurie! When I'm planning a new book, I'm constantly asking myself questions, constantly looking at the story from different angles. When I came up with Skye, the heroine of PASSION UNTAMED, I knew that the hero of that book, Paenther, had a fierce hatred of the Mage. So, of course, she had to be Mage. And like the Mage witch who'd nearly destroyed him, she had to betray and capture him. He had every reason in the world to hate Skye. Which is why my instincts told me she had to be the most gentle, sweet woman he'd ever come in contact with. That while she might have captured him, she was more of a victim than he was. Paenther is such a knight, such an honorable man, but his background gave him all this reason to distrust and hate her. Great conflict.

When I was developing RAPTURE UNTAMED, I knew in my heart that Jag was going to hurt Olivia. It might not be intentional, but he was going to betray her. So I had to figure out how this tough little fighter was vulnerable. It's from that question that the whole draden-kissed scenario was born.

Laurie-Have you thought about or are you going to give Pink her own story at some point?

Pamela-I love Pink, but I don't know what's in store for her. I have general ideas of what's going to happen in future books, but I don't have it all worked out. Most of it comes to me as I figure out each individual book.

Laurie-I was reading on your website you like Start Trek. Which is your favorite TV episode and which is your favorite movie?

Pamela-I loved Star Trek as a kid, but I only really got into the original series. I tried to watch The Trouble with Tribbles a couple of years ago for the first time in years (it used to be one of my favorites) and OMG, it did NOT live up to my memories. So low budget compared to what's produced today. My favorite Star Trek movie is definitely the latest one. But I love everything J.J. Abrams does.

Laurie- Would you give us a few genre that you like to read?

Pamela-I read mostly romance and urban fantasy. Some of my current favorite authors are Larissa Ione, Karen Marie Moning, Nalini Singh, and Keri Arthur.

Laurie-Your website says,“Who is Pamela Montgomerie“? Who she and what do you write under her name for those that don’t know?

Pamela-In addition to the Feral Warriors series for Avon Books and the Esri series for Silhouette Nocturne, I write a time travel series for Berkley Sensation under the pseudonym Pamela Montgomerie. Like all my books, these are action-filled stories with tons of romance and big, climactic endings. So far, I've published two -- SAPPHIRE DREAM and AMETHYST DESTINY. The time travel elements are magical stones in the possession of a little Rumplestiltskin-type man named Hegarty. He's one of my favorite characters -- an trouble-making imp with a heart of gold.

Laurie- Have you ever considered writing a different paranormal romance series?

Pamela-All the time. My imagination never stops spinning new stories and my muse just doesn't seem to be satisfied with one series at a time.

Laurie-What are you planning next?

Pamela-My editor and I plan to sit down next week at the RWA conference in Orlando and discuss just that. At the moment, I'm writing book 6 in the Feral Warriors series. After that, we'll see!

Thanks Pamela!

Rating-

Sexual-

I have to say this is my favorite in this series so far. It held me captivate to see how this Feral Warrior was going to let go of this tormented soul. The detail the author gives you is nothing short to leave someone in awe. You also get a lot of action from both the hero and heroine.

Warning here please note this is on the darker side of paranormal so be careful this one has torture as in physically and mentally. Even with the abuse its well worth trying to read this book. Pamela is one that can write this stuff with out it leaving a bad taste in my mouth.

Few spoilers
Jag is the most combative and tormented of all the Feral warriors. As you read you’ll find yourself one min in love with Jag and the next you want to rip him into for the way he treats Olivia. Don’t let Olivia fool you though she can stop it all if she wanted to, she is not helpless. She totally understands what Jag is and what he has went though. She herself has been in the same shoes, so now she has to find a way to bring Jag around and out of his torment so she can have the love she deserves. It was amazing reading how one woman can bring a arrogant cat to his knees in more ways than one.

I love the away the author writes these strong heroin’s for these warriors and the abilities they have. Olivia has something special about her she has it since she was seven. No one has never known but one will find it out and use it to his advantage or at least he thinks it will be to his advantage, I say "curiosity killed the cat" or in this one brings him down.

I don’t want to give out a big spoiler. But I feel I need to warn some about a something without just coming out and saying it. I want to touch on the sex and relationship between Jag and Olivia. Olivia is amazing how she holds up under Jag’s treatment after he finds out her secret and I have to say its not for the weak to read. As your reading I really want to stress keep in mind Jag is messed up and doesn’t know how to love. So some of the sex scenes are steamy hot, than there is a few that is not so hot.

This is the same as the rest of the series you get to read enough of the feral warriors without it overloading the story of the hero and heroine. I am finding each book in this series just gets better and better. I cant wait for Hunger Untamed…

Review Passion Untamed by Pamela Palmer

Title: Passion Untamed
( thrid book to the A Feral Warriors Novel )
Author: Pamela Palmer
Laurie's: 5/5

Book Summry:
Though the Mage witch Skye has a gentle heart, demonic forces have enslaved her, forcing her to kidnap Paenther, a powerful and dangerous Feral Warrior. Even chained and naked, Paenther is a cunning prisoner who seduces her, body and soul, turning captive into captor.

Paenther's pride demands revenge against the enchantress who emerged from the deep woods like a sensual vision and enthralled him, even as she makes his body burn with passion. Despite his fury over her treachery, Skye's gentle beauty calls to his soul, calming the wild chaos within him, and stealing his heart. But when evil threatens, Paenther and Skye's only chance at survival is to trust in one another . . . and the power of love.

Laurie's Review

Most people give this series a bad rap because of the charters names. Well, to me they are at least easy to pronounce unlike most books.

This whole series has lots of rituals and most of them involve sex.. I myself like the different rituals in this series, to me its separates them form the rest of shape-shifting series or at least none I have came across.

I normally steer away from books with quite a bit of abuse. I don’t like pain or, to read of pain in animals or humans, this book has both. If you can get by the abuse please try this book it kept me turning the pages just to see what happens next, most books like this I just put down and never pick back up but Palmer keep things interesting and dosen’t drag.

Skye is a mage or a witch she is the enchantress of animals, she has been abused by Birik form the young age of eight you say why did she not leave well, she has tied over and over he holds something over her, you have to read to find out what that would be I can‘t give everything away. But Birilk has Skye to kidnap Peanther so, he can become more powerful, That’s a little bit of Skye side of the story..

Peanther’s animal is a panther of course, but he has himself been abused by a mage named Ancreta more less tortured is more like it.. Because of the mage Ancreta he is losing his panther this is where Skye comes in she can help him connect back to him again, but it’s a long journey before she gets to do just that.

This book was a fantastic read for me.. I will be waiting for Vipers book, I think Palmer will make it very interesting especially after reading this one.
