Please welcome my one of my favorite authors Nina Bangs.
Laurie- Would you please tell us what inspired you to write about dinosaurs?
Nina-I was searching for a new series idea. When I looked at all the wonderful paranormals already on the shelves, I decided that I needed something different, something that hadn’t been done yet. I knew I wanted my heroes to be the ultimate alpha males, but what could be more alpha than a wolf or vampire? Then I thought of Jurassic Park. Do you remember the scene where the tour car was stuck on the muddy road, and the boy inside watched the water in the two glasses ripple as the ground shook from distant footfalls? Boom, boom, boom, the footsteps came closer and closer. And when the T. rex finally broke from the trees, it was a wow moment. The predator’s size and ferocity took my breath away. I wanted my heroes to have that kind of impact—sensual and gorgeous in their human forms and savage ancient hunters in animal form.
Laurie-How did the 2012 Mayan end of the world prophecy come in to play with this awesome series?
Nina- I love listening to “Coast to Coast AM” when I can stay awake long enough to enjoy the show. Over the last few years, George Noory, the show’s host, has had quite a few guests who discussed the end of the Mayan long count calendar. What will happen in 2012? Some people predict the apocalypse while others believe it will herald in an age when humanity will ascend to a higher level of consciousness. Of course, I have no idea what will happen, if anything. But I decided that the ending date would make a perfect “ticking clock” for my series. What if men with the souls of ancient predators led by a mysterious and powerful leader are all that stand between mankind and complete annihilation on December 21, 2012?
Laurie- What can you say to the readers that just don’t think dinosaurs are sexy to get them to pick up the first book and try it?
Nina-I suppose perception is everything. For example: dragons are considered sexy. Why? Have you Googled dragon images and really looked at them? Pretty scary stuff. And don’t even get me started on some werewolf pictures I’ve seen. Then why not a T. rex? Remember, it’s not the beast that’s sexy, but the man that becomes the beast. I hope that changes a few minds.
Laurie- I know you don’t want to give much away, but we are on the edge of our seats. Why did Fin save these eleven and bring them to the future in human form? And can you give us a clue on the connection between Fin and Seven?
Nina-Fin has an agenda, and it’s not only about saving humanity. And no, I’m not telling you what that agenda is. He chose the ten he wanted to save even as Zero was destroying their world, and those they loved were dying. Fin took the ones he thought would have both the physical and emotional strength to survive in the present. He also wanted them to have a strong sense of loyalty. And if they also hungered for vengeance against Zero, all the better. But beyond that, he chose the ones who would bond with the women he saw in his visions.
Fin and Seven share a past that defies time and space. I guess that’s all I can say without turning this into a spoiler.
Laurie-Will all eleven including Fin get a story?
Nina-I doubt that I’ll be able to do all of their stories. A lot depends on sales. But I’ll write them as long as readers want to know more about the Eleven. I definitely will do Fin’s story.
Laurie-Have you considered writing a book for the vampire Jude?
Nina-I’ve always been partial to vampires. So, yes, I want to do Jude’s story if the opportunity presents itself. I’d also like to write Kione’s story. I love tortured heroes, and the fae prince is about as tortured as you can get.
Laurie-What does it take to make the perfect alpha male together with the perfect female lead, without going overboard with one or the other?
Nina-Umm, luck? No, just kidding. I always want my heroes to be strong men, but I never want them to smother the heroines. They have to respect her and accept her as an equal partner in their fight against the enemy. So, no overbearing Neanderthals need apply. I like a kick-butt heroine, but I never want her to take the place of the hero. If she’s powerful enough to win every fight and destroy every evil, then I guess we don’t need a hero. And I always want my hero and heroine to have flaws. I don’t write perfect characters.
Laurie-You are so good at this, how do you make your characters so great without being annoying?
Nina-As a reader, I enjoy characters that aren’t simply black or white. Gray is my color of choice. And as a writer, I never make my characters all good or all bad. I even try to give my villains at least one positive quality even if it’s only a warped sense of humor. In Eternal Craving, Eight was vicious and cruel, but he had one redeeming moment. When he knew he was about to be banished from Earth, he asked that someone release the seagull he’d rescued.
Laurie- Can you give us some insight on how Dorchesterpub and the new ebook is going to work? And is this going to delay your Eternal Prey release date?
Nina-I’m no longer writing for Dorchester, so all future books will be from different publishers. Eternal Prey will be out on December 28 from Avon. From what Dorchester has said, my backlist will be available in e-format. A few books will also appear as trade paperbacks.
Laurie- Would you tell us what you are working on next and what to expect next at the bookstore?
Nina-I’m going back to the Castle of Dark Dreams for my next book. Edge, the cosmic troublemaker in charge of death, finally gets his own story. Next to Ganymede, he’s the most powerful troublemaker around. And there’s no love lost between the two. But their dislike for each other explodes into open warfare when a third party comes to play. I don’t have a release date yet for Wicked Edge.

Guest post Paranormal Suspense Author Pauline Holyoak
Paranormal Suspense Author – Pauline Holyoak
Merryweathger Lodge – Ancient Revenge.. The first of a trilogy.. ”A supernatural thriller that keeps you on the edge.” A perfect Christmas gift for those with a sense of adventure!
About me…
I grew in Southeast England, in a coal mining village my husband calls, “The place that time forgot.” It is nested between the notorious city of Canterbury and the medieval town of Dover. I came to Canada as a nanny, when I was 21. This vast and majestic country has served me well, but England will always be home. I live in Alberta (western Canada) with my sports crazy husband, adorable Sheltie dog and cantankerous ginger cat. We have two grown children. They are the gems in my treasure chest. I love this part of the world, except for the winters. It can be a chilly minus -30 for days on end. Burr…..
I love horror movies and being scared…Not the… “Hey I think I smell smoke” scared, but the creepy, spine-chilling, spooky stuff scared. When I was a young girl my friend and I would wander through the local graveyard just before dark, read the tombstones and make up stories about the people that were buried there. Good grief….I was weird.
I ran away from home when I was 17 years old, to join a band of hippies and live on the streets of London. I went to challenge the establishment, proclaim peace, escape from the hum-drum village life and find myself. I lived in la…la…land with the flower children for a year but I never did find myself. I have now. Thank God!
I don’t eat mammal and would like to be a vegetarian but I like my fish and chips too much.
Every summer, when I was a child, we would visit my aunt and uncle at their quaint little cottage on Salisbury Plain. It was called Scotland Lodge and was situated not far from the historical Stonehenge. My uncle worked as a farm hand for the local squire. My aunt tended the manor house. It was there as I roamed free, deep within the English countryside, that I experienced joy, enchantment and some very strange and frightening occurrences. It was like a fairytale kingdom with a sinister twist. The memories of my summers at Scotland Lodge have stayed with me as a sort of nagging unsolved mystery all my life. A few years ago I revisited my childhood wonderland (the old place still emanates a strange and eerie essence) and was lead by some mysterious force into concocting this story and writing this book. It is from my mystifying experiences at Scotland Lodge that this book has emerged.
My life has been a fascinating journey so far but nothing compares to my mystifying summer holidays at Scotland Lodge.
Book blurb…..
When Emily Fletcher meets the gorgeous Jonathan McArthur she is infatuated and consumed with passion. Will he go with her to the dreaded wood-lot, to remove the bloody ancient curse, before it’s too late? In the first half of my story Emily is fourteen years old. In the second half she is forced to return to the cottage, at the age of twenty. My novel contains elements of horror, humor, fantasy, romance and sex. I have created a world into which my readers can escape and an atmosphere that will evoke their imagination, stir their emotions and engage their senses.
Excerpt.…”Let’s go somewhere privet.” She said, grabbing my arm. She guided me to the passage and plunked me down on the bottom step of the attic stairs. My back straightened. Panic rose within me as an icy shiver ran down my spine. It was as if I had been lead to an old cemetery, sat on a grave and left among the tomb stones.
“That was her room you know.” She said as she pointed up the stairs.
“Who’s?”
“Mary Eliss.”
I turned my head ever so slowly and drew eyes up to the portal at the top of the stairs. I shivered and quickly looked way. “I know it was.”
In a low voice she whispered. “Do you suppose she’s still up there?” Then she grinned mischievously.
I looked into her strange glassy eyes. “She was, the last time I was here and I have a feeling she hasn’t left.”
My advice for would-be authors…..Learn to live with rejections, don’t let them bother you. Believe in yourself and your work. Never, ever give up on your dreams. Faith, perseverance and steely determination are what all successful authors have in common.
I am now working on the second book of my trilogy… Merryweather Lodge – The Malevolent Spirit…Find out if Emily gets to make mad, passionate love to Jonathan , just like she does in her dreams….?
Merryweather Lodge – A quaint little cottage, steeped in history, shrouded in secrets, its aura a paradoxical essence of heaven and hell. Go into this book if you dare and experience my protagonist’s strange and eerie journey there…. . Available at http://www.whiskeycreekpress.com/
The next big book craze…...Stonehenge!

Interview with paranormal romance author Juliana Stone
Please welcome paranormal romance author Juliana Stone.
Laurie-Hello Juliana, thank you so much for agreeing to do this interview. I just love your Jaguar warriors! Would you please tell those who don’t know about them a little about your wonderful Jaguar Warriors?
Juliana-My world is full of otherworld creatures but the story arc featured in my books involve 3 brothers, 2 of whom are jaguar warriors. The third, the oldest is a jaguar shifter. They are all fierce, alpha males who love passionately and will defend to the end that which belongs to them, or the ideals that they believe in.
Laurie-What made you write about Jagguar shape-shifters?
Juliana-When I sat down to write the first book I envisioned a scene where the hero is about to kill his ex lover. I knew he’d be a dark character and a sleek black jaguar came to mind. I do love vampires, wolves and sorcerers, so they’ve all managed to find their way into my books!
Laurie-Do you know how many you’ll write in this series and who is your next warrior?
Juliana-This second book, His Darkest Embrace, is Jagger’s story, the third, His Darkest Salvation is Julians. The third book ties up the first story arc and set’s up the next story arc that begins with my sorcerer Declan. Nico, who is a jaguar warrior and is introduced in this second book, is in Declan’s as well. The ideas are branching out but I will continue to write with a varied pallette bu the shifters will always be in there!

Laurie-I love the romance added with the Aztec myth that you throw in your books. Would you please tell us a little about the Aztec myth? What made you write about Jaguar Shape-Shifters?
Juliana-The Aztec’s worshipped the jaguars and eagles. Their fiercest fighters emulated both animals. They would wear the pelt of a jaguar or the feathers of an eagle. They were called jaguar warriors and eagle knights. My heroine in the second book, Skye, is an eagle knight. The jaguars were linked to the underworld, the darkness and the eagles with the sun.
Laurie-What is the hardest thing you have crossed in writing one of your Jaguar Warriors?
Juliana-I like to write intense, sometimes chaotic battle scenes, or scenes that move fast. My biggest struggle is slowing down, having more dialogue and letting the characters get to know each other instead of always kicking ass!
Laurie-Do you have a Jaguar that is your favorite or maybe personal to you?
Juliana-I love all my dudes, but if I had to pick a favourite I’d say Julian. He wasn’t born with the warrior tattoos, so he’s just a regular jag shifter. He’s always been conflicted and ignored the wild side of his personality. But when he’s out in the jungle, he can no longer deny what he is and it makes for some intense scenes.
Laurie-How do you come up with the right heroine for the warriors? Is there a process or do they just come while your writing?
Juliana-I’m a total pantser. I don’t plot at all so they really just come to me. I usually have an ideal of who ends up wit who, but Generally just write and go with it.
Laurie-I see you have another series that’s Sci/Fi and time travel, would you tell us a little about that series?
Juliana-I write a series of shorts for Samhain Publishing. They center around a family of women, sisters who have the ability to time shift. They are guardians so to speak, keeping others who would shift for dark purposes, to alter events or monetary gain. In this story arc their enemy, The New Order, have found out who their predestined mates are. They’re trying to murder these men before the women meet them…thinking this way the Black Opals will never procreate. So they’re desperately trying to stop them, while saving these men they’re meant to love!
Laurie-Can you tell us a little on what your working on now for us to read next?
Juliana-I just handed in Wicked Road to Hell, which is Declan’s book and am working on ideas for the fifth book. The series is linked but different so there are different characters. I’m not sure who will be the hero for my fifth book! But there are the usual suspects, jag shifters, demons, angelic beings, sorcerers, and vampires!
Fun questions
Laurie-Do you have a favorite restaurant?
Juliana-I’ll eat anywhere that serves great Mexican or Tai food!
What is your favorite color?
Juliana-Green.
Laurie-Do you have any pets? If so what?
Juliana-I have a beautiful golden retriever named Shelby. She is the sweetest most gentle soul ever! We tried fish but they kept dying.
Laurie-Do you have a favorite TV show you just can’t miss?
Juliana-A few: Vampire Diaries, Supernatural, Criminal Minds
Check out the video for His Darkest Embrace

Interview and giveaway with author Lori Brighton
Please welcome Lori Brighton author of The Ghost Hunter. I hope you guys enjoy the interview and please check out The Ghost Hunter I really enjoyed it.
Laurie-Lori, thanks so much for doing this interview. Would you please tell us a little about yourself?
Lori-Thanks for having me! I started reading romance when I was a teenager and I became obsessed! Not only with the wonderful emotional aspects of the books, but with the suspense and adventure. Wanting to do something just as adventurous, I went to school for Archaeology/Anthropology. I ended up working in a museum as a natural science curator. When we moved, I had to quit and museum jobs are hard to find. I’d always had a huge imagination and so with time on my hands I decided to try and write down one of those stories I’d been imagining. It took me over seven years to get published. Lot’s of rejection and heartache. But those stories wouldn’t leave me alone, so I continued to try.
Laurie-What has been the hardest thing to cross in writing?
Lori- Well, getting published is incredibly hard. For most people it takes years and many rejections. Publishers are very picky, and rightly so, about what they want. Now that more people are self publishing, forgoing publishers in New York, it’s more about promoting. A person can spend hours a day trying to figure out ways to get their book into the hands of readers. It’s rather exhausting. So after your book is published, you then have to worry about sales numbers and what your readers will think of the book.
But the hardest thing is trying not to let rejections and bad reviews get you down; to write for the joy of writing.
Laurie-Now that you’re selling books what’s become you favorite thing to do?
Lori-Well, when you see your book available there is an amazing feeling of accomplishment.
But best of all are the people I’ve met since becoming an author. Bloggers who take time out to help me promote, and readers who email to tell me they enjoyed my book. I’ve met so many wonderful people from all over the world.
Now I have had the privilege to read your Ghost Hunter and loved it. Laurie-What I really loved was your idea of an Angel warrior having to have a seer to capture the ghost, would you tell us more about this? And are you planning on writing more?
Lori-When you write a book there has to be some way to connect plot and characters, there has to be a reason for things. I needed a reason for Cristian (my hero) and Ashley (the heroine) to be connected on a deep level. Somehow I came up with the Seers and Angels working together; forced together really.
As for if there will be another book, I’d love to write a sequel with Devon (who is a secondary character) as the hero. But that will depend on how well The Ghost Hunter does.
Laurie-What prompted you to write a ghost book with a demon in the basement?
Lori-I came up first with the idea of a book about a woman inheriting a mansion that is haunted while on the Haunted Mansion ride at Disney World. As for the demon part, I can’t remember how that came about! Some writers plan, in detail, their books before they write. Others just write. I just write. So when something comes to me, it goes into the book. Somehow it all comes together in the end.
Laurie-What do you do for fun when you’re not writing?
Lori-I love television and movies! Fewer movies now that I have a child. Because I spend so much time on the computer, reading my own books, sometimes I’d rather watch T.V. than read. I know, terrible thing to say!
As a family we like to go hiking and traveling. We just got back from St. Augustine, Florida. It was amazing! A new favorite place.
Laurie-What are some of your favorite books?
Lori-I’ll tell you a horrible, horrible secret…
I’d rather watch the movie than read the book. lol. When I was a kid I loved Anne of Green Gables and Chronicles of Narnia books. Both have wonderful movies. I’d definitely rather watch either Pride and Prejudice movie rather than read the book. Same with the Harry Potter books, love them, but would rather watch the movie.
As for books that haven’t been made into movies…anything Julie Garwood. She was the first romance author I read and I love her historicals!
Laurie-Now that you have written historical and paranormal do you have a favorite? And was either one easier to write?
Lori-Historicals are more difficult because there’s usually more research involved. I don’t have a favorite. If I’m writing a historical I usually want to write a contemporary. If I’m writing a contemporary I’m longing for historical. lol. The grass is always greener…
Laurie-You have a book called Wild Desire coming out March 2011, can you share some of that story with us?
Lori-Sure! Wild Desire is the second book in a series. The first book, Wild Heart, is available on Amazon as an Ebook or printed book. It may also still be at some bookstores. But you can read Wild Desire without reading Wild Heart. Wild Heart is a bit darker while Wild Desire is more adventurous. Below is the blurb for Wild Desire:
In what feels like a moment, Beatrice Edmund goes from being a proper lady cooped up in a stuffy Scottish castle to traveling miles from anything she’s ever known, in the midst of the wildest adventure of her life. And at the center of that adventure is the most infuriating, puzzling scoundrel on earth. She cannot take her eyes off him.
Colin Finch cannot deny he’s drawn to Beatrice—but lust is all he could possibly feel for the sharp-tongued minx. Still, if there’s a chance she can help him stop the madman he pursues, he must withstand her obvious disapproval. Yet withstanding the longing he feels for her is growing more troublesome by the second… And Colin has never been terribly good at staying out of trouble…
Laurie-Can you tell us some of what to expect next?
Lori-Well, I have a young adult book that is with two editors. They’ve had it awhile. It’s one of the pitfalls of publishing, it can take forever to hear back from an editor if they want your book. If they reject it, I’ll publish it myself on Amazon Kindle. So in some format, it will be available.
Wild Desire will be in stores in March and I’m really looking forward to that.
As for what book I’ll work on next, I have plenty of ideas, but probably a contemporary paranormal romance I started awhile back. Like The Ghost Hunter it’s a bit more unique and different than many of the paranormal books out there.
Fun questions
Laurie-Do you have a favorite pair of shoes? And do you have a truck load of them or not? LOL.
Lori- stay home so I’m usually wearing no shoes or tennis shoes. lol. Pretty glamorous! I love heels, but on the rare chance I do wear them, they kill my feet because I’m not used to them. I love purses more. A friend of mine said that she loved shoes and purses because it didn’t matter how much weight you gained, you could still use them. So true.
Laurie-What is your favorite color?
Lori-Hmm, I don’t know. I love all colors. If I had to choose, maybe green? Just reminds me of life and lushness
Laurie-Do you have any pets? If so what?
Lori-Yes, we have a dog and a cat. Years ago we lived out in the country and one day a Golden Retriever showed up at our house. After no one claimed him, we took him in. He’s awesome. A super sweet dog. Everyone loves him. Our cat belonged to someone else and she had to get rid of her, so we took her in. For the first three years, she wouldn’t come downstairs. lol. She hated our dog. Only took about 6 years and I think she’s finally accepting him… reluctantly.
Laurie-Do you have a favorite music band? And what song do you like best from them?
Lori-I don’t have a favorite band, I like a little of everything. In the city where I live they have a radio channel called Dave, after Dave Matthews and they play music along that lines. That would probably be the type of music I listen to the most. But I’m usually watching television rather than listening to music.

Interview with erotic paranormal author S.K. Yule!
Please welcome erotic paranormal author S.K. Yule.
I have had the privilege to read and review S.K.'S eBooks and I will say they are outstanding! Please check them out after the interview on her website.
Laurie-Hello S.K. I am happy to have you here to tell all us all about your wonderful books. But first would you tell a little about what you like to do while your not writing?
S.K. Yule-I like spending time with my husband and dogs--my furry kids--just my dogs, I mean : ) . I love relaxing, reading, and watching scarey movies.
Laurie-What different paranormal creatures do you write about?
S.K. Yule-I've written about vampires, werewolves, demons and ghosts thus far, but wouldn't hesitate to write about anything paranormal.
Laurie-What is you favorite reason you like to write paranormal?
S.K. Yule-I love, love, love the unknown, the paranormal, things that cannot be explained. I think writing paranormal widens the boundaries of writing as well. And I love being scared. October is my favorite month because of Halloween and all the scarey movie marathons.
Laurie-Your vampire family the Aleksandrow’s exciting to read. Would you tell those who have never read your vampire series (Darkest) a little about it?
S.K. Yule-The Darkest series is about three brothers, Ashe, Aldin and Aiston Aleksandrov, who are vampires. They spend most of their time protecting humans from shadowdrifters, or vampires gone bad (um, badder). Suddenly, an uprising of the drifters begin, and the brothers find themselves overwhelmed, and call in other hunters to help.
While the problem with the drifters escalate throughout the series, Ashe, Aldin and Aiston must balance their lives between the uprising and finding their viata amants, or life mates. All the while, none of them have any idea that a bigger problem is brewing.
Their mother, Marilena, was foretold by none other than Ragnor, the vampire king, a prophecy concerning her sons, the uprising, and their potential deaths, hundreds of years ago. She has never told them of the prophecy or who their real father is, and has secretly been fighting fate to keep her children from facing said prophecy.
Laurie-I loved your werewolf books Lycan lover and Lycan Lust. Would you give others a peek about them? What else do you have more planned for your werewolf’s?
S.K. Yule-Lycan Lover and Lycan Lust are about alpha lycans who finally find their soul mates. And, even though the need to claim their human mates burns strong, they strive to stay in control and make sure that they fulfill all of their mates' needs. They put their instincts aside to make sure their significant others are happy.
Anthony Wolfson (Lycan Lover), and Brent Falls (Lycan Lust) are strong males who have survived many years with their morals intact even though many lycan around them are turning rogue.
Laurie-I loved the steamy scenes you have in your novellas especially the hot tub one in Lycan Lust. Would you tell your favorite one so far? I hope you can narrow it down to one LOL.
S.K. Yule-Oh my. That is a tough question. I love all of my steamy scenes, and try to make each one unique and different. If I had to pick at this very moment, I would say the bathroom scene in Darkest Desires between Aiston and Avril. I choose this one only for the fact that it was spontaneous and a little unexpected. However, if we are including scenes from unpublished works as well, I have to say I'm extremely pleased with the steamy scenes in Darkest Intentions, Darkest Book III. I hope to get it released sometime this year.
Laurie-Do you have a favorite heroine so far? If so why?
S.K. Yule-One of my favorite heroines is Rindy Trenton of Lycan Lust. I admire how strong and determined she is, and how, ultimately, not even her tragic past could keep her from trusting and loving her soul mate.
Laurie-Do you have a favorite hero you wrote so far? If so why?
S.K. Yule-I love all of my heros and strive to write them with strong characters and morals. Even though they might do things that we won't agree with at times, when it comes down to the bottom line, they will always do the right thing. So far, the funnest heros to write have been Ashe Aleksandrov (Darkest Hours, Darkest Book I), and Malachi Mannering (Darkest Intentions, Darkest Book III -- which has not been released as of yet). I like Ashe because he was my first hero and I like Malachi because he has a tortured past that makes him seem more human than vampire.
Laurie-What is you biggest influence for writing?
S.K. Yule-Knowing that I bring a little bit of contentment and spice into my readers' lives, and give them an escape, even if for a short time, from reality.
Laurie-Who are some of your favorite authors?
S.K. Yule- Sherrilyn Kenyon, Christine Feehan, Elizabeth Hoyt, Tatiana Caldwell, and Angela Knight to name a few.
Laurie-What do you have planned to come out next? Can you give us a peek in your upcoming paranormal ghost romance?
S.K. Yule-If things go as planned, Darkest Intentions, Darkest Book III and Lycan It will be my next releases.

Guest author Monica Burns with giveaway
Monica is here to day to talk about her new up coming release Assassin's Heart. Please give her a huge welcome!

Monica's Bio
An award-winning author of erotic romance, Monica Burns penned her first short romance story at the age of nine when she selected the pseudonym she uses today. From the days when she hid her stories from her sisters to her first completed full-length manuscript, she always believed in her dream despite rejections and setbacks. A workaholic wife and mother, Monica believes it’s possible for the good guy to win if they work hard enough
Hi everyone, I’m excited to be back here at Bitten by Paranormal Romance. I love talking books and what goes into them. So thanks for having me back to talk about my upcoming release Assassin’s Heart, the second book in my Order of the Sicari series.
Paranormal. It’s still the hottest thing on the market right now. We love it, can’t get enough of it. And when my agent asked me to write a paranormal series, my first reaction was, OMG, I can’t write paranormal. I don’t know how to write vampires, werewolves or shifters. I only know history.
Now don’t get me wrong, I’m a HUGE fan of paranormals. Feehan, Ward, Angela Knight, Showalter and many others are a hard act to follow when you try to write something different for the genre. My favorite shows are Warehouse 13, Medium and GhostWhisperer (both cancelled – Grrr) and Sanctuary. I am a diehard fan of all things paranormal, but when you’re a writer of historicals, it’s hard to switch bats in the middle of the game. So when I developed my Sicari heroes, the first thing that came out of my fingers was…you guessed it, historical content. It was five pages of a Roman general and his wife having an intimate moment. Just for kicks, here a small portion of what I wrote.
He watched her. From the open doorway of the small spa, he studied the voluptuous curves of her body as she stepped out of the marble bath. A slave tried to cloak her in a pristine white cloth, but with an elegant wave of her hand, she took the towel and sent the servant away. Tendrils of hair the color of a midnight sky escaped the makeshift knot on the top of her head to caress the nape of her neck.
Outside the final heat of the day had eased, leaving Rome cool. But in here, his body burned hotter than Apollo’s chariot blazing its way into the west. Marble cooled his shoulder as he leaned against the hard column of the bath’s entrance. The stone’s chilly smoothness did nothing to quench the fire in his blood or stop his cock from growing hard at the sight of her.
Arms folded across his chest, he drank in the beauty of her full curves. The olive bronze of her skin shimmered beneath the layer of water skimming down her back before it danced off her softly rounded buttocks. The lushness of her body shot a familiar ache through him. Cassiopeia, daughter of Manius Quinctilia Atellus, Roman senator, was his.
There had always been women in his life, but the idea of leaving a wife behind if he died in battle wasn’t a worry he’d been willing to accept. Of course, that was before she chose him. What had made her choose him over all others? He was a soldier. A plebian by birth. Far removed from the patrician clan she belonged too. It was doubtful he would ever know the reason why, he could only thank the gods that she had chosen him.
His gaze greedily swept over her, his body reacting as it always did whenever he was near her. He suppressed a sudden growl of desire as she bent over to pat her legs dry with the linen towel. The view from this angle was more than enticing—it was erotic. He remained where he was. He had no desire to rush tonight. If he did do so, she’d know he would be gone at dawn.
When I wrote that scene, I already had the rough background of my heroes fleshed out, and I didn’t have a clue as to why that scene just popped into my head. But as a writer, I’ve come to trust my instincts, so I tucked that scene away until last year when I was beginning to flesh out Lysander’s story. I had planned on flash back scenes in the book to explain how the Sicari had come into being, but I really wasn’t sure how to do it. Then I remembered my Roman General and his wife, and before I knew it, I was pulling all the pieces together into a past life story.
When I think about my qualms writing a paranormal, I didn’t realize I already knew how to write paranormals. I just didn’t realize that the paranormals I write are of the other worldly kind. One of the best things about being a writer is to write about things you know, and past lives are something I know a fair amount about. Primarily because I’ve had past life regression done, and I’ve discovered that I’ve lived at least three lives. None of them rich and fancy, in fact I was dirt poor in two of them. And in those two I lost my life by hanging and beheading. Suffice it to say, it explains a lot when I tell you that I’ve NEVER been able to wear turtlenecks, chokers of any typed of clothing too close to my neck.
With Lysander and Phaedra, I set up certain issues they had to deal with that tied back directly to their past lives in ancient Rome. Primarily because the whole concept of past lives is that you return to get a second chance. You come back to make up for what you did wrong and you come back to get it right. For Lysander and Phaedra, they get it right the second time around and as a result they get the HEA they only briefly had in the past.
So what about you? Do you think you’ve lived before? If so, what kind of life do you think you had? We will get back to this question for the give away.

Coming September 2010
The truth of the soul.
Lysander Condellarie never understood why he had telepathic and telekinetic powers until the night his Praetorian father tortured him and left him for dead. Now, the half-angelic, half-demonic face he sees in the mirror is a reminder of the monster he must keep hidden or face expulsion from the order of assassins know as the Sicari. But his dreams of Ancient Rome hint at a destiny he finds hard to accept, especially when it involves the woman he loves, but can never have.
The consequences of desire.
A gifted healer in the Order, Phaedra DeLuca witnessed her mother’s murder when she was just a little girl. The haunting memory makes her loathe everything Praetorian. When she travels to Rome in search of an ancient artifact, she must work alongside a man who once cruelly rejected her love and healing touch. But her dreams of Ancient Rome tell of an irreversible and possibly dangerous future. For the distant past and present are about to collide--with the one man she is destined to love.

Interview with author Rebecca Goings
Today we have Rebecca Goings here for an interview. Please sit down for a bit and enjoy. Paranormal is not the only genre Rebecca writes, please check out her website at the end of the interview to see what else you can find.

Laurie-Would you please tell us a little about yourself?
Rebecca-Hello! My name is Rebecca Goings and I've been writing romance professionally for six years. I write in a lot of different genres, paranormals, westerns, contemporaries, and fantasies. I live in Portland, OR and I have five kids, two cats, and a dog. Oh, and a hubby. :P I'm a stay-at-home mom and I homeschool my brood.
Laurie-Could you tell us some of your writing on the B*E*A*S*T series for those who have never heard of it?
Rebecca-Well, I got the idea after seeing shapeshifters gain in popularity in the romance genre. Everyone seemed to be doing packs or magic, that kind of thing. I wanted my shifters to come from a secret agency. It was only after I began writing them that they were compared to Lora Leigh's shifters. But I'm telling you the truth when I tell you I've never read her series!

I'm pretty much the only similarity is genetically created shifters. From there, we go on vastly different tangents.
My books are about B*E*A*S*T* , Bio-Engineering to Attain Shift Transformation. They are a secret agency, funded by ?? who've created these men to be monsters. Their memories have been altered, and they've "died" in their old lives. But a few of them manage to escape, liberate the others, and find love along the way, while trying to bring B*E*A*S*T* down in the meantime.
Laurie- Tell us about your latest release?
Rebecca-MARK OF THE B*E*A*S*T*, Book IV of this series, is coming on September 6th. It is the story of Mackenzie Bishop and Robyn Groves. We first meet this pair in Book II, B*E*A*S*T* OF BURDEN, and learn more about them in Book III, NATURE OF THE B*E*A*S*T*. Robyn's been kidnapped by an evil scientist and mindwiped. Now, she doesn't remember Mac, and he's going to make these bastards pay for taking her away from him -- in more ways than one.
Laurie-What's some of the biggest things that influences your writing?
Rebecca-Dreams influence my writing a lot. The seed of an idea for this series came from a dream. I was on the run in the snowy mountains with a man who could shift into a tiger. Once I woke up, the idea snowballed from there when I started asking the who, what, where, when, why, and how questions. And once I had the agency, I knew I had a series, because they wouldn't be experimenting on just ONE guy...
I also get my ideas from songs. There is one song in particular, "Sahara" by Nightwish, that inspired my latest series with Carnal Passions, my Desert Princes of Jikkar.
TV shows and actors can inspire me too, especially if I think I can do a storyline better, or ask why they didn't do this, or I would have done it that way, etc.
Laurie-Do you have any interesting writing quirks?
Rebecca- Aside from needing to zone when I write, not really. I don't have any rituals or special foods or a special chair. But I do need to get into my scene, so most of the time I need to put on my headphones and rock out to something, if only to tune out my kids. :P I do have to be somewhere semi-private or at least have a wall at my back. My kids can read, and some of the things I write... whew boy!

Laurie-What is something you like doing besides writing? Like any hobbies?
Rebecca-I used to be big into crochet. I'd probably do more of it too if I didn't love spending all of my free time in front of the computer. I've also had wrist problems lately, so I can't really do it much right now. Taught myself though, then taught my daughters. :)
You not only right Paranormal, what other genre do you write?
I love westerns. They're my favorite historical, so they're pretty much all I write for historicals. I also love fantasies, and not all my fantasies are dragons and castles (although I have those as well). My Desert Princes, for instance, are considered fantasy because they involve magic. I love writing about magic. I have a couple of contemporaries, but that's it. I guess a vanilla contemporary isn't my cup of tea. My BEAST series is present day, but of course, there are fantastic things going on, so I don't get bored.
Laurie-What are some of your favorite authors?
Rebecca-Well, I gotta give props to Johanna Lindsey for being the first romance author I ever read. She's the one who got me to fall in love with the genre. I also enjoy the western Harlequin authors. Pam Crooks, Kate Bridges, Stacey Kane, & Cheryl St. John.
Laurie-Do you have a favorite place to write?
Rebecca-On my deck or on my front porch. I have a laptop, and I love writing outside. When it's quiet and the weather is nice.
Laurie-What are you working on next?

Rebecca-Right now, my efforts are with my Desert Princes. I'm going to have four or five books in this series (haven't decided). But it's an erotic series, so it's very fun -- and hot hot! THE VIPER PRINCE has just released on August 4th from Carnal Passions. Book II, THE SCARAB PRINCE, is coming in October. THE FALCON PRINCE will be coming soon after that, and I'm currently working on THE SPIDER PRINCE. I really love this series because it's so exotic and different than anything I've ever done. In the span of about six months, I've written almost the entire series! If you pick this one up, I hope you enjoy it just as much as you've enjoyed BEAST! :D
Thanks Rebecca!! Also I just had to add the cover to your Desert Princes of Jikkar series, its to hot not to *fans self LOL*..

Interview with Paranromal author Pamela Palmer
I had the privilege to get an interview with author Pamela Palmer. I hope you enjoy the interview and if you haven't read the books please check them out.
.jpg)
Laurie- Would you please give us a little about yourself?
Pamela-Hi Laurie, I'm delighted to be here! I grew up wanting to be an astronaut, wound up majoring in engineering in school, and didn't realize I wanted to be a writer until one of my daydreams grew too big for my head and I decided to write it down. Who knew you could craft entire books out of daydreams? I sold my first book to Silhouette Nocturne in 2006 and have since sold thirteen, nine of which are on the shelves. Three more are written (book 5 in the Feral Warriors series and the final two books in the Esri series for Nocturne). Hunger Untamed comes out 2/22/11. The Nocturnes, I'm still waiting on release dates for.
Laurie-I simply love your Feral Warriors series. Would you tell those who have never read or heard about them, something about your wonderful series?
Pamela-The premise behind the Feral Warriors series is that there are only nine shape-shifters left in the world. At one time, the entire immortal Therian race was able to shift -- many different clans, dozens of different animal shifters. But five thousand years ago, the Therians and their traditional enemies, the Mage, joined forces to defeat the Daemons, mortgaging the majority of their power in the process. Now only one of each of the ancient shifter lines retains the power of his animal and the ability to shift. The nine known as the Feral Warriors. While each book in the series is a stand-alone romance, each is also another chapter in the larger story that will eventually come to a big, climactic ending. Five thousand years ago, the Daemons were defeated and incarcerated, but they're not gone. And now they're growing stronger again, once more threatening the world.
Laurie-You have 9 Feral Warriors. Is this the amount of books your going to write total? Or maybe add more Warriors to this already great cast?
Pamela-Good question and I can't give you an answer right now, because I just don't know.

Laurie-With all the magic and rituals you have in your books, do you spend a lot of time researching?
Pamela-No, that's one of the things I love about writing paranormals. I research locations, which is pretty easy since I live in the D.C. area. But most everything else comes out of my imagination.
Laurie- Now lets take a little on your heroine’s you have. I have to say out of all the series I have read I love your heroines, they are all strong and each one added to each warrior by their special abilities. Are these abilities hard or easy to come up with when you start a book? And would you tell us your favorite heroine so far?
Pamela-Thank you, Laurie! When I'm planning a new book, I'm constantly asking myself questions, constantly looking at the story from different angles. When I came up with Skye, the heroine of PASSION UNTAMED, I knew that the hero of that book, Paenther, had a fierce hatred of the Mage. So, of course, she had to be Mage. And like the Mage witch who'd nearly destroyed him, she had to betray and capture him. He had every reason in the world to hate Skye. Which is why my instincts told me she had to be the most gentle, sweet woman he'd ever come in contact with. That while she might have captured him, she was more of a victim than he was. Paenther is such a knight, such an honorable man, but his background gave him all this reason to distrust and hate her. Great conflict.

When I was developing RAPTURE UNTAMED, I knew in my heart that Jag was going to hurt Olivia. It might not be intentional, but he was going to betray her. So I had to figure out how this tough little fighter was vulnerable. It's from that question that the whole draden-kissed scenario was born.
Laurie-Have you thought about or are you going to give Pink her own story at some point?
Pamela-I love Pink, but I don't know what's in store for her. I have general ideas of what's going to happen in future books, but I don't have it all worked out. Most of it comes to me as I figure out each individual book.
Laurie-I was reading on your website you like Start Trek. Which is your favorite TV episode and which is your favorite movie?
Pamela-I loved Star Trek as a kid, but I only really got into the original series. I tried to watch The Trouble with Tribbles a couple of years ago for the first time in years (it used to be one of my favorites) and OMG, it did NOT live up to my memories. So low budget compared to what's produced today. My favorite Star Trek movie is definitely the latest one. But I love everything J.J. Abrams does.
Laurie- Would you give us a few genre that you like to read?
Pamela-I read mostly romance and urban fantasy. Some of my current favorite authors are Larissa Ione, Karen Marie Moning, Nalini Singh, and Keri Arthur.
Laurie-Your website says,“Who is Pamela Montgomerie“? Who she and what do you write under her name for those that don’t know?
Pamela-In addition to the Feral Warriors series for Avon Books and the Esri series for Silhouette Nocturne, I write a time travel series for Berkley Sensation under the pseudonym Pamela Montgomerie. Like all my books, these are action-filled stories with tons of romance and big, climactic endings. So far, I've published two -- SAPPHIRE DREAM and AMETHYST DESTINY. The time travel elements are magical stones in the possession of a little Rumplestiltskin-type man named Hegarty. He's one of my favorite characters -- an trouble-making imp with a heart of gold.
Laurie- Have you ever considered writing a different paranormal romance series?
Pamela-All the time. My imagination never stops spinning new stories and my muse just doesn't seem to be satisfied with one series at a time.
Laurie-What are you planning next?
Pamela-My editor and I plan to sit down next week at the RWA conference in Orlando and discuss just that. At the moment, I'm writing book 6 in the Feral Warriors series. After that, we'll see!
Thanks Pamela!

Interview and giveaway with author Eve Langlais
I am pleased to have Author Eve Langlais, here with us today. I hope you guys enjoy the interview and check out Eve's books.
Laurie-Hello Eve, Nice to have you here with us today. Would you please tell us a little about what you write?
Eve-I write a variety of romance genres - fantasy, paranormal, science fiction, erotica, BDSM contemporary. If I had to choose a favorite though, it would have to be paranormal. I especially love to write stories about heroines who aren't considered good girls but who manage to find love anyways. Take Lucifer's Daughter, releasing August 9th from Liquid Silver. Muriel really wants to find love but being the daughter of the most infamous demon in the world has made her search for '/the one' /almost impossible. But when she does find her man, watch out, because she proves bad girls know how to heat up the pages.

Laurie-Tell us about your latest release? Is it a series? If so do you know how many books your writing for this series?
Eve-I've got two series that have come out recently. I'll deal with my super popular Alien Mate series first. Alien Mate is a hot story of alien abduction where one big blue alien with abs to die for kidnaps a plump and feisty earthling for his mate. In Alien Mate 2, recently released from Amira Press, we meet a new hunky alien who has come to earth to collect his mate, the only problem is the one he wants to spend the rest of his life with isn't the one that was chosen for him. Given the wild success of this series, I'd wager a guess that many of us women harbor secret alien fantasies. Can there be anything more romantic than a super stud crossing the vast galaxy just to be with you? Sigh. And for all you Alien Mate lovers, just so you know the voices in my head are clamoring for a third story where this time the big blue hunk will be the one abducted instead.
Now to my newest series which begins with my August ninth release from Liquid Silver titled Lucifer's Daughter. 'Being Satan's daughter can be hell.' Expect to have your vision of Heaven and Hell redefined, and as my editor laughingly admitted, make you love Satan in his role as father. The sequel, titled Snowballs in Hell, will be coming out in a few months and not only deals with the repercussions of Hell freezing over, it also delves into the naughty world of threesomes. Yum.
Laurie-What’s two of the biggest things that influence your writing?
Eve-Wow, I'm not sure. I think my mood when I sit down to write affects the direction of my stories. And the second thing, probably noise levels. With summer here and the kids out of school writing a good solid two or three hours straight without interruption is a vague memory. I really can’t wait for September and some quiet time. LOL. I do love the little monkeys though distracting as they are.
Laurie-How long did it take you to publish your first book?
Eve-I sat down to write my first book ever titled Take A Chance in February 2009. I finished it in April of 2009 and I submitted it to a publisher. I got a prompt revise/resubmit which I quickly did and by August of 2009 Champagne Books offered me my very first contract. Take A Chance, a fantasy romance about a modern day librarian and a cursed wizard, was released in June of this year. It's a sweet fairy tale romance with magic, danger and of course an evil sorceress. Its sequel, title Chance's Game dealing with characters met in Take A Chance, releases in February of 2011. Meddlesome gods and a magical quest make that one a real treat.
Laurie-If you could give one tip for an upcoming writer. What would it be?
Eve-Write. You can spend a lot of time researching, asking questions, reading blogs and socializing, but the most important thing is to write and make sure you finish what you start.
Laurie-What are some of your favorite books you’ve read?
Eve-Gosh, we could be here all day. LOL. I am a voracious reader. I inhale books on an almost daily basis. I will admit to being a Twilight fan. I do love Meyer’s version of vampires and the way she built a great love story without ever really having any sex. That takes talent! Kresley Cole is a great alpha male writer. I can never put her books down. Jim Butcher needs mentioning for his world building in the Dresden Files along with Patrica Briggs. They, and many more, all grace my groaning bookshelves.

Laurie-I read in your Bio you like to play the Wii? What are some of your favorite games?
Eve-LOL. I love Rockband. I am the designated guitar player with the Lego version being our music of choice. Mario Galaxy rocks as do all the Mario Party's. I'm proud to say I've played all 8. RPG's are my favorite games of all but sadly the Wii isn't too strong on those yet.
Laurie-What are you working on next?
Eve-Alien Mate 3 is currently brewing in my mind and begging for release. I've also got a Cleopatra paranormal that's partially fleshed out. According to her voice in my head, history didn't tell the whole truth and she's expecting me to set the record straight. I usually keep the projects section of my website, EveLanglais.com, updated with in progress works.
A few common questions

Your favorite food?
Louisiana chicken wings.
Your favorite TV show at this time?

Seven days of Erotica Heat! Day #6 N.J. Walters interview and giveaway

Please give a warm welcome to N.J. Walters. I would suggest N.J. Dalakis series, I read them all and loved them. I am going to work on reading some more of N.J. books so look for reviews soon.
Laurie-Hello NJ, I am so glad you could join us. I loved reading your Dalakis Embrace. How did you come to write sexual vampire?

N.J. Walters-It my pleasure to be here, Laurie. Thank you so much for having me at Bitten By Paranormal Books.
I’m so glad you enjoyed Dalakis Embrace. I’d always wanted to write a book about a vampire. There’s so much to explore in the vampire world—the taboo of blood and sex, the darker passions, immortality. What happens when a mortal and immortal fall in love. The problems are legion.
The first Dalakis book, Harker’s Journey, began when I started thinking about writing a vampire tale. Of course, it made me think about Bram Stoker’s Dracula. I started playing the “what if” game. What if Jonathan Harker from Dracula had descendants. And what if one of those descendants—Johanna Harker—was a financial consultant and had to journey to Transylvania to deal with her mysterious, but wealthy client Cristofor Dalakis. The entire story flowed from there.
Of course, Cristofor had two brothers—Lucian and Stefan—so they both needed books of their own, Lucian’s Delight and Stefan’s Salvation. But, even then, I wasn’t quite done with this family. Two more books followed—Eternal Brothers and Endless Chase. Although I’m finished with this series, I am hoping to write more vampire books in the future.

Laurie-I see you not only write erotic paranormal what other genre do you write?
N.J. Walters-It all falls under the genre of romance, but I write contemporary, contemporary/erotic, time travel/ménage a trois, paranormal/erotic, futuristic/erotic and spicy paranormal/werewolf. That’s the wonderful thing about writing romance—readers are very open to different genres. It’s not only challenging, but it keeps the writing fresh. I’m never bored.
Laurie-I have always wanted to asked this question. Does your husband thinks he benefits more with you being an erotic author?
N.J. Walters-LOL You’ll have to ask him that. But he’s very supportive of my writing and is open to helping me with research. He’s such a giver. *g*
Laurie-Can you tell us a little on what your working on next?
N.J. Walters-I currently have several projects in the works. I’ve contracted the first book in a new paranormal series with Samhain Publishing. A Touch of Magick features inept witch, Rhiannon Sparks, who discovers she needs to have sex with the right man to unleash her magick. Deputy Ryland Stone is that man. Problem is, he doesn’t believe in magick. Watch for this book in October!
I’m also working on the third book in my Courage brothers of Texas series for Ellora’s Cave. Book two of this contemporary series—Lassoing Lara—was just released on July 2nd.
I’ve contracted the next book in my paranormal/shapeshifter Shadow Ryder series with Ellora’s Cave. Out of Shadows should hopefully be out late this year.
I’m working on the next book in my spicy werewolf series for Samhain Publishing. Book two of the Legacy series—Isaiah’s Haven—is due out on August 3rd.
Beyond that, I’m trying to find time to work on a new paranormal series.

Laurie-What do you have more of shoes or purses?
N.J. Walters-Honestly, I don’t get the whole shoes and purse thing. I’m not much of a shopper. Beyond my sneakers and boots, I have one pair of flat black shoes. Until a few days ago, I had one purse—a brown, backpack style. But I saw a sale and actually found two purses I liked. One is a tourquoise hobo style bag that’s perfect for summer. The other is a patchwork of black, brown and red. I’m still deciding if I’ll keep that one or take it back.
Blurb:
Legacy, Book 2
For a werewolf, the pack is everything, but Isaiah Striker has always felt like an outsider. The only thing he cares about is his family, which is how he finds himself in the crowded city of Chicago doing a favor for his brother. What should be a fast job quickly turns into a life-changing event.
Meredith Cross has held her small pack together through sheer guts and determination. After years of running, she and her adult children now operate Haven, an eclectic nightclub. When Isaiah Striker walks into Haven, she is drawn to him immediately. But he is a werewolf, a threat to her small pack, which includes four half-breeds. Most wolves won’t accept half-breeds and she won’t risk her pack for anyone.
Their lives become more entwined as the sexual attraction between Isaiah and Meredith spirals out of control. When paranormal bounty hunters and purist werewolves threaten her pack, both she and Isaiah must overcome the constraints of their pasts if they hope to survive and have a future together
EXCERPT: Isaiah’s Haven release date Aug.3rd.
He kept heading northward, ambling aimlessly and eventually hitting Wicker Park. He knew he should be going in the opposite direction, back to Riley’s Garage on the South Side. But he didn’t want to go back, not yet. He knew he wouldn’t sleep so he might as well walk and enjoy the sights.
The city itself was vibrant and alive, filled with many different ethnic groups and economic levels. He’d seen homeless people and folks in limousines, those decked out in jeans and others in diamonds. The food and the nightlife were just as diverse. Maybe that’s what he needed. Some good food and some decent music.
He wandered past a bar and a woman’s voice drifted out on the cool October breeze. He froze, coming to a complete stop in the middle of the sidewalk. A guy bumped into him from behind and started to curse him, but one look at Isaiah’s face and he quickly moved on.

Isaiah felt his entire body clench with need as the woman’s low, sultry voice wrapped around him. Turning slowly, he stared at the outside of the small club. Haven, it was called. It was a typical older, three-story brick building with a business on the bottom and what looked to be apartments above it.
A sense of urgency filled him. An air of expectation swirled around him. Somehow he knew if he went inside this bar his life would be changed forever.
All the more reason to keep walking.
He whirled on one heel and strode in the opposite direction. About twenty feet away, he stopped.
“Fuck!”
The wolf inside him was howling, practically clawing at his skin to be free. His lungs couldn’t take in enough air even though his chest was heaving. He raked his fingers through his hair and swore again.
His instincts would not be denied. Spinning around, he stalked back to the bar. He paused on the doorstep, took a deep breath and crossed over the threshold.
The bouncer on the door nodded at him as he passed. The guy was about six-one and built, his shoulders practically filling the doorway. His blond hair was buzzed off in a crew cut and his pale blue eyes missed nothing as he watched the door and the crowd within.
The light was dim, but that was no problem for Isaiah. With his preternatural sense of sight he could see easily. The smell of liquor and warm bodies mixed with the spice of sexual arousal, creating a heady perfume. He could also smell food, and it reminded him once again that he hadn’t eaten in hours. His fast metabolism required him to eat several times more than a human male and he was running on empty.
He found an empty table for two in the far corner and sat with his back to the wall as he scoped out the place. The woman was no longer singing. No matter. He’d find her before he left here.
The place was crowded for a Thursday night. He could see only one other free table. Several couples were dancing to a bluesy number being played by a four-piece band that managed to fit on a tiny stage at the far end of the place. The bar dominated one wall with plenty of seating surrounding it. The bartender was a big guy who looked up when Isaiah’s eyes landed on him. Their gazes met and held, neither of them backing down. The guy finally looked away when a woman walked up beside him and placed her hand on his arm.
And holy shit, what a woman. Isaiah was ninety years old. Still relatively young given his five-hundred-year lifespan. But in all those years, he’d never seen a woman like this one.
Even from a distance, he could tell she was tall. Long black hair fell like silk over one of her shoulders and didn’t stop until it hit her waist. Her features were more striking than beautiful. Exotic. Strong. Her full lips were painted a deep red that all but begged a man to kiss them.
Isaiah’s cock swelled in agreement, pushing against the zipper of his jeans. He hadn’t been aroused this quickly since he’s been a young male just coming into maturity.
Thank you so much N.J.!!!

7 days of Erotic Summer Heat! Day #5 Lissa Matthews

Please give a warm welcome to author Lissa Matthews. I won Lissa eBook Sweet Caroline from Cecile at All I want and More. When I started reading I knew I found another erotic author to add to my favorites. If you haven't read one of Lissa's eBooks please try one!
Laurie-Hello Lissa, I am so glad you could join us today. I read on your website you love all things BDSM. Can you tell us some of the toys that falls in that line you like best?

Lissa-Floggers, belts, wrist and ankle cuffs, ball gags, Hitatchi wands. However, all things BDSM doesn't necessarily mean toys...it is a mental thing, a control thing, a physical thing that has nothing to do with sex play. It's not about clubs or multiple partners or parties. It's about the intrinsic trust between a Dominant and his submissive... And it is individual to those involved. There is no one right way or one wrong way to practice, to live it. However, one should always, ALWAYS practice it safely, sanely, and consensually.
Laurie-What do you have more of shoes or purses?
Lissa- I think I have the same number of each...which isn't very many. I think I love purses a little more though... And totebags. O.M.G. I LOVE totebags.
Please if you would give us a sizzling hot male picture of your choice.

“Hey Charlie, let me in this room.”
“Why do you need in there?”
Carson Jenings sighed and scrubbed a hand over his face. He was tired. Tired of dreams, tired of wandering the woods at night, restless, tired of waiting on the woman to show, and now that she was finally damn here, he couldn’t get her to wake her ass up and answer the door. “I need the person inside, and she’s not answering.”
“Well maybe she’s not there.”
His patience was wearing thin, and he hadn’t slept in days. Dreams of her kept him up, kept him hard and aching and hungry. All he could do to try and ease the frustration in his body was run and hopefully wear himself out. Knowing she was coming though just kept his nerves on edge. She wasn’t here for him, but she was his. Melanie said Ruby would come, and she’d been right. Now all Carson needed to do was get to her without scaring the shit out of her by breaking the door down. Not to mention, his brother Patrick wouldn’t be happy with him if he did it either. “Charlie, it’s seven in the morning. She flew cross-country so she’s got jetlag more than likely, and she’s not used to our little world up here. Trust me, she’s in there and chances are, she’s still getting her beauty sleep.”
“Okay, well don’t tell anyone. I’ll get in trouble for it if Patrick finds out.”
“Won’t breathe a word.” Carson made a motion of locking his lips and throwing away the key. Charlie seemed to believe him and slid the master into the lock, and it popped open. Carson mouthed a thank you and slipped in silently. Sure enough, she was still asleep. The curtains were drawn over the windows, and what little light there was came from the small lamp on the chest of drawers on the opposite side of the room. The only sound was his breathing and the small nasal snore from the woman in the bed. His woman.

Melanie had been concerned with how her sister was going to take that bit of news, but it didn’t really matter much to him. He’d convince her, coax her, seduce her, whatever it took. He needed her, probably in ways he didn’t even know of yet, but the immediate need was her; her body, her sex.
He pulled the padded chair over from the sitting area and sat, propping his feet up on the end of the bed careful not to jar it too much. For the first time in days, he started to relax and the tiredness began to take over. He could use some sleep. Hell, he could use a whole month of sleep. Crawling into bed next to her seemed like a damn good idea. He knew why she was there, but her sister wasn’t lost. He knew exactly where Melanie was, and it wouldn’t take long for him to get Ruby to her. The sooner he got her in front of Melanie and proved that the other woman was alive, safe and sound, in love with his fool-headed brother, the sooner he could get Ruby into his home and into his bed.
She rolled over, and he caught sight of her face in person for the first time in the low lamplight. She was pretty with soft features. He knew from the pictures Mel had shown him, Ruby was soft and round from head to toe. She wasn’t willowy and thin which was a good thing as far as he was concerned. He was a good-sized man, and he didn’t want to worry about breaking the woman he was fucking, especially when he planned on doing a whole lot of it.
Before he could think better of it, he got up out of the chair and stripped off his clothes, leaving them in a pile on the floor and slid beneath the blankets. She purred and moved closer to him, snuggling. It wasn’t what he’d been expecting, but hell, he’d take it. She wore flannel pajamas and while it was kind of cute, she wouldn’t be wearing them anymore. She wouldn’t need them. He was very warm natured, bordering on furnace hot, and she wouldn’t need anything on in bed…except him.
She pillowed her head on his shoulder, and he gently slid an arm around her, pulling her even closer. His cock was screaming hard, and he had half a mind to pull her the rest of way on top of his body and at least burrow his dick between her flannel covered legs, but he figured that might be going a little too far without first introducing himself.
Her soft hair tickled his skin, and her breath was cool against his neck. Mel had talked nonstop about Ruby from the moment his brother had brought her home. Ruby was supposed to be some sort of librarian that studied fairy tales or some such thing but she had yet to find her own Prince Charming or White Knight. Carson hadn’t paid much attention beyond being polite to his brother’s mate until Mel brought out some pictures of Ruby. Something he hadn’t believed existed had suddenly cracked open inside his gut, tugging at everything inside his soul.
Others in his family had said it was just the beginning and seeing their mate for the first time caused that very same reaction, almost like a shell breaking. It was the human part of their make-up taking over, allowing them to truly bond with others, to feel emotion on a human level, to feel human arousal as it was connected to love, empathy, pain and sorrow.
His kind were loners, sticking close to one another, but not mingling much with normals. That’s what full humans were. Normal. At least in the eyes of society. He and his family were different, strange, and took care of their own. They controlled their own destiny, their own paths, making their own way of living so no one would ever know just how different they really were.
His bear half simply needed to eat, sleep, survive. He cared for his family, but it wasn’t in this kind of way, this all-encompassing need and desire to live. When he’d seen the picture of Melanie and Ruby together, laughing, his human half began kicking in. At first he didn’t like it, wanted to fight it, but the more pictures he’d looked at, the more he heard her voice on the voicemails she left for Mel, the more the hunger had grown to know her, see her, touch her, have her.
He didn’t have the luxury of spending a whole lot of time wooing her. Mating was something he needed to do and do quickly. His human half was still getting used to his animalistic needs and vice versa. It was sometimes so overwhelming that he couldn’t stop masturbating, couldn’t stop or slow down his need for orgasms. His brother, James, Mel’s mate, said eventually there would be a more controllable balance, but it likely wouldn’t take effect until he’d been with Ruby a few times. His bear half had a mating season, but his human half didn’t. There were no female shifters so the science of the true ice bear mating didn’t figure into his family genetics. Until he met his mate, a male shifter was allowed to have sex with anyone he wished, but once his mate was introduced into his psyche, other women were off limits.
His bear side and his human side had to learn to live together, which meant Ruby had to learn as well. He hoped it was as easy for her to accept and adapt as it had been for Mel.
She shifted in her sleep and turned over, presenting her back to him. He turned as well and held her from behind, scooting close and wrapping his other arm around her middle. His cock nestled itself against her ass and twitched, throbbing painfully. God above, he wanted inside her. And when she wiggled that ass…
He flattened his hand against her lower belly hoping to still her. That was a mistake. The tip of his pinky edged the top of her flannel-covered mound. He couldn’t feel the outline of any panties nor the springy curls that would normally… Shit. The woman, his woman was wearing no panties and was smooth.
When she nestled in and settled down, her body relaxed and she sank into him. She fit like she’d always been meant to be there. He couldn’t wrap his head around how that kind of thing was possible, but his body seemed to recognize the truth of it and he was too tired to fight it.
Her feet pressed into his shins, and her head was still at shoulder level on him. Her cunt and ass were at the perfect position and angle for his cock.
And he’d never known a peace so deep and strong. He’d never known the kind of protection and obsession that filled him now either. Hunger and lust peaked and flowed through him. He couldn’t wait to meet her eyes and see her smile first hand, hear her voice, taste her lips, feel her under him, open and hot.
He kissed the top of her head, and she moaned. He closed his eyes and tightened his arms, smiling for the first time in weeks and let much needed sleep take him.
