Forget taming their cougar. These young studs want her as is, even if she scratches.

Someone's killing shifters in prison, and Patricia needs help catching the culprit. The cougar enlists the help of Stu and Ricky, a techno geek and a reformed criminal, a mismatched pair, who turn out to also be her mates. But Patricia's already loved and lost one man. Does she dare allow herself to care again?

Older isn't just wiser, it's sexier, or at least that's what a socially challenged wolf and a bad boy panther think. Forced to work together to catch a killer, Stu and Ricky soon find out they'll have to learn to do more than tolerate each other when they realize a hot, almost forty cougar is their mate. Can they find a way to work together and make their cougar purr?
Ok, so yes our heroine is a cougar - as in she turns into one - but I never really pictured as a cougar in the older woman type of way. She just didn't seem that much older than the guys, unless someone was specifically mentioning it (which was kind of awkward). The image on the cover also makes her look much older than she is in the book.

The awkward reminders of the age difference aside, this was a pretty exciting story. A mismatched group of shifters sent undercover to a prison to try and catch a killer. There are lots of opportunities for craziness, and Eve Langlais takes advantage of most of them. I wish she had left a few out, it got to be a tad overdone at times, especially when paired with three over the top personalities.

The bad guy was great. Super creepy and I was surprised when I found out who it was - so kudos to Eve Langlais because I usually figure a good chunk of it out before I'm supposed to. This was a fun trip back to the Freakn' Shifters series, but I feel like some of the characters are starting to be copies of each other. I'll keep with it though because they are hilarious and hope it goes back to the inventive beginning that first drew me in.

In Legal Wolf's Mate, taking on a pro bono murder case isn't a problem for a lawyer who enjoys a challenge. Discovering his new client is his mate? A tad more complicated. Gavin has no intention of settling down, especially not with a woman accused of murder, but once he sets eyes on Megan, his fate is sealed.

In The Alpha's Woman, Kira Radney is all delicious curves and strong will and has no desire to be a subservient mate. When a member of her father's pack attempts to make her his mate by force, Kira has no choice but to flee. The last thing she wants is to submit to any male and their pack. But when her escape attempt leads her straight into the arms of an alpha wolf—a sexy, dangerous, protective alpha—Kira must fight against her need to be free, and her secret desire to be controlled...

In Feral Passions, what better place for an adventurous woman to explore her wild side than a luxurious resort in northern California's beautiful Trinity Alps? Especially when that resort is run by sexy werewolves looking for mates—Feral Passions Resort, where fantasies come true.
Legal Wolf by Eve Langlais was fun and light-hearted in way that only Eve can be when we have a woman being framed for murder and someone trying to kill her. Gavin and Megan are quite an interesting couple. A lawyer and a secretary framed for murder aren't what I would normally expect in a werewolf romance. But together they are a riot and are quite a cute couple. The dialog between them is fun and humorous. But, there are quire a few surprises in store. Megan throws a doozy at you and it makes me love her even more! The cherry on top was Broderick - a mouthy cat that gives us a chance to see Gavin in all his alpha goodness.

Feral Passions is quite the exclusive resort. Will someone please buy me a week's stay there?!?! Cherry is a lucky woman - taken to Feral Passions by her sister and her sister's friend. Where they get to enjoy a week vacation being waiting on by super-hot guys (that may or may not be werewolves) in a remote forest preserve. Heaven! I really love how Cherry changed throughout the story. The wolves are there for her to help boost her confidence and give her a new outlook on her life. Warning - this is the highest sexual rating in the anthology including menage - but it was soooo much fun. I felt like I was part of Cherry's world and now I really want to go back and visit again. Bonus: there's a side romance that runs through the background that is really great, too!

The Alpha's Woman was almost non-stop action and excitement. There's a strong tie to Greek mythology in this one that I really enjoyed. Being able to learn the history of the race of Lycans was just an amazing touch that really brought the story to life. Kira is on the run from her past and to her destiny, but she just doesn't know it. Blaeze was so very interesting. I loved hearing him talk about the history of his family. Blaeze and Kira are both something very special and unique - but I'll let you find out what exactly. Both are alpha's and watching them square off against each other was really great and led to some fantastic dialog and scenes.

Growl is an amazing mix of stories - all featuring really fun werewolf men. Each book is a very different tale that was exciting and sexy and so much fun to read.

Jungle Freakn' Bride by Eve Langlais - Review

Warning: Hot, steamy threesomes, chauvinism and more are running wild in the jungle. Can you handle the heat?

Abducted by a pair of hunky, tribal warriors, Carlie doesn’t think things can get any stranger until the first time she purrs.

Everyone’s heard of the mysterious Moon Ghost Jaguars, supposed shapeshifting men who steal women as their brides. What they forgot to mention was that half naked, ripped and oh so delicious, they always came as a pair – and turned into really big freakn’ cats! But Carlie’s not about to let these furry Tarzan’s dictate her future, even if they seem to have conquered her body.

Acat didn’t think he wanted a mate until he came across the outspoken American with golden hair. Making her his bride is only part of the battle. With the help of his best friend, Chaob, can he find a way to convince this strong willed woman to follow the traditions of his tribe? Or will this reluctant jungle bride get her lovers to accept the fact she’ll never be a classic barefoot and pregnant mate?
I really loved Acat and Chaob. They are great friends and their personalities work perfectly together - a very well balanced pair full of confidence. But when they finally are sent on a mating hunt and find Carlie is their prize - they wonder if something may be wrong. Not only is she not a native - which if frowned upon - but she refuses to settle down and be a "good little woman." Watching Carlie but her new mates through hell as she insists on answers and turns the tables on their tactics a few times was a lot of fun.

But I wish the book had focused more on just them. Instead we get an extra non-native involved about half way through that just really seemed to be a red herring - thrown in for the sole purpose of creating more conflict - unnecessary conflict. It almost seemed like it was there to add pages - which I really dislike.

But once we get that little hiccup resolved, it all becomes very fun again. These primitive men will surprise you at every turn and Carlie is just a very nice breathe of fresh air.

Coming home doesn’t always solve things … but it does pave the way for second chances.

Take one deadly bite and, bam, a man’s life is changed forever, or so Caleb discovers when a loss of control leads to him joining the military and leaving everything behind.

Time goes by … years spent silent and alone, cut off from those he loves. Until it’s time to come back, a scarred veteran, in many ways broken and looking for a meaning to his life. Perhaps it's not too late to right some wrongs. Make amends. Kiss a certain pair of sweet lips one more time.

If only Renny would damned well let him.

It doesn’t take Caleb long to realize Renny’s just the thing this croc needs to bring him back to life. Yet, what if he loses control again? He doesn’t want to take nibbling on her thighs to a whole new level.

Too bad, he can’t stay away, especially not when he discovers her secret. Add in a strange creature stalking the townsfolk and there is no way he’s leaving her alone.

Years ago it just about killed him to leave, but Caleb’s a changed man now. A darker kind of animal, and this retired soldier is ready to kill so he can stay.

Welcome to Bitten Point, where the swamp doesn't just keep its secrets, it sometimes eats them.
Bitten Point is a great place - a little swamp city with a unique group of citizens. A city with quite a range of shifter residents. Caleb is finally coming home, but he is scarred inside and out from his time in the military. He doesn't know what to expect when he shows up after skipping out on his hometown and everyone he knew.

I really loved Caleb - he was a very down to earth and believable character - considering he could turn into a crocodile and all. His inner turmoil and struggles really made me want to give him some serious snuggles. But his snuggles are reserved for Renny.

Renny has had a hard time since Caleb left, and she's a bit pissed off about it too. She has grown into a strong woman that won't take crap from anyone or anything. She had just enough spunk, while still holding on to her soft side at times. A great mix.

But creepy things lurk in the swamp, things that defy imagination and explanation. When they venture too close to the people Caleb cares for - well, his crocodile has been itching for some fresh meat. I can see an overall story arc forming that looks to be quite exciting.

Lucky him, he found his mate. Just one teensy, tiny problem. She was already married to someone else.

Meeting the woman of his dreams would have worked a lot better if she didn’t already belong to another man. But Chris wasn’t about to let something like ‘until death do us part’ keep him from claiming his woman. He’ll do anything to win his mate, including throwing his attractive cousin at the pesky husband.

Despite the danger, and her marital status, Jiao can’t help falling for a handsome wolf. Honor says she should stay away, but her curious inner cat is flexing her claws and demanding they claim their man.

But Jiao isn’t the only one falling in love. When her husband finds himself head over heels with a she-wolf, will Sheng do the right thing and end the marriage sham? Or will the past catch up first and bite them?
This one really fell flat for me and I was sooo surprised. I have really enjoyed every other Eve Langlais book out there, so I'm thinking this one make be a fluke. And for those of you worried about the cheating spouse issue - that gets cleared up quickly so don't worry about it.

Chris was a little boring for me. He was too much like the other shifters in his alpha male, I'm going to take what is mine attitude. He was just a little too cliche. When he finds out his mate is already married, he sets up a grand scheme to try and convince her to leave her husband.

Jiao isn't what you would expect. Although she is a little cat like, we don't really get to see that side of her very often. Her husband is a big stick in the mud though. And while he has his reasons, he really goes overboard with them. When these reasons show up in town with a mission that needs thwarting, the whole town will come together.

But this was another part that just didn't fit. If there was such an awful bad guy that was harming shifters, wouldn't the shifter community have gotten wind of it somehow? I just find the whole bad guy hard to believe.

I'm going to keep going in the series because the next books look great. I think this one just wasn't for me.

Being a cyborg was so much better when all his parts worked. Avion’s nanotechnology stopped functioning after some experimentation done on him by the military. They broke him and now, Avion is no better than a human, even more annoying, he’s dying.

But at least he completed his final mission. He saved, One.

Mysterious and alluring, Avion isn’t the only person who wonders what surprises this woman hides. The human military and their alien allies fear what she’s capable of and will stop at nothing to destroy her. However, the one thing they didn’t take into account is that the cyborgs always protect their own, and they aren’t afraid to use deadly force.

And no one could imagine the depths One will stoop to in order to protect the man she loves.
Avion has been in the story line for the past two or three books now. Injured and near death, the cyborgs return to Earth to try and find the origin of their tech to see if they can jump-start his system with some new nanos. But they run into a lot of bumps along the way - including a strange woman who calls herself One.

One is a very intriguing character, and as I found out more about her, she grew on me even more. She has a strange dual personality that she's contantly wondering which is really her. She brings up tons of interesting dynamics that really throw the Cyborgs for a loop. If what she says is even partially true, then the Cyborg world will be changing drastically.

One and Avion make an odd pair at first, but they are connected in a way that seems to defy logic. Their's isn't a traditional romance, but they aren't very traditional characters either. From the very beginning they just seemed to fit together and it was so much fun watching them teach each other exciting new things.

While many of the earlier books in the series can be read as stand-alone romances, in order to truly enjoy this one, you will want to read the previous books. Otherwise there will be parts you just won't understand.

Tour of the Universe - Top 10 Sci-fi Heroes by author Eve Langlais

I will admit, I love science fiction. The idea of life out there, strange new worlds, cultures, everything, totally gets me excited. The whole 'what if' premise is one of the reasons I love writing sci-fi romance. My passion for all things sci-fi started at a young age as I avidly watched  Star Trek. Then along came Star Wars, and the various Star Trek rebirths. Battlestar Galactica, Guardians of the Galaxy, Stargate, and more... If it's got an alien, or futuristic theme (especially with cyborgs or gene manipulation) then chances are I'll watch it.

Over the years, some characters have left lasting impressions and helped formed my idea of the ultimate sci-fi hero. Here's 9 of my favorites. In the comments, I'd like you to leave a tenth. Two lucky commenters will win a prize (an ecopy of my Alien Abduction Bundle book 1-3, and an ecopy of my Cyborg bundle of books 1-3). If we hit a freaky amount of comments, then maybe I'll throw in a piece of swag ;)

My hottest heroes from Sci-Fi movies and shows.
1. The original Han Solo, Harrison Ford
2. Riddick played by hottie Vin Diesel
3. Jean Luc Picard with commanding actor Patrick Stewart
4. Star Lord of Guardians of the Galaxy played by the adorable Chris Pratt
5. Star Trek rebooted with Chris Pine as the young Captain Kirk
6. The cyborg in Almost human, Michael Ealy
7. Number 6/Caprica from Battlestar Galactica, Tricia Helfer (She was awesome!)
8. Villain Benedict Cumberbath as Kahn in Star trek into Darkness.
9. Jason Momoa as Ronon Dex in Stargate Atlantis
10. Name your favorite hero/heroine.

When an Alpha Purrs by Eve Langlais - Review

Title: When an Alpha Purrs (A Lion’s Pride #1)

Author: Eve Langlais
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Length: 188 pages
Publisher: Indie
Release Date: June 4, 2015

Heat Rating: 3

A lion’s pride isn’t defined only by those he commands but also resides with his hair, so when a human dares to butcher Arik’s mane, he gets his revenge—and claims her as his mate.

A billionaire CEO and leader of the largest East Coast pride, Arik is a ladies man and a lion. Used to commanding others, and obedience, he can’t believe it when a hairdresser with tempting curves chops off a hunk of his precious mane.

But her biggest mistake is in running from him.

Run as fast as you can, little mouse, because this cat loves to chase—and pounce.

Oh, and he also likes to nibble on tender bits. What he doesn’t expect is to fall for a human woman, a woman who can make the impossible happen because everyone knows lions can’t purr…until now.
Another fun shifter romance from Eve Langlais. I really enjoyed Arik. He's everything I picture a lion to be - proud, arrogant, sure of himself, and used to being in charge. Watch him chase after Kira was amusing and his lion was all in a fuss about finally finding his mate. The pride's reaction to this whole ordeal was amazing! I loved the "catty" aspect of the other lions and Arik's mother was a riot.

Kira, I just couldn't quite warm up to. She had a great personality and I loved her independence, but she took that independence a little too far. She crossed briefly into the too stupid category when it came to her ex and that's something that can really be a downer in a story for me.

The romance was sweet, there were such a great example of getting everything you never wished for and loving it. There was just enough action to really push things along, but not so much that it was overwhelming. I think Eve Langlais is going to have another winner in this series.

On Earth, when a rebel cyborg leader is drawn into a search for answers, he doesn’t
expect things to blow up. And he’s not just talking about his house. Somehow his heart explodes, too, with the last thing he ever expected—love.

Adam survived the great cyborg purge because the military made a mistake, a mistake they lived to regret. They crossed the line when they decided to take away his free will and turn him into a machine. They erroneously thought him a slave they could command. However, their biggest screw up of all was when they didn’t terminate him at the first sign cyborgs were regaining sentience.

As the rebel cyborg leader on Earth, Adam is doing everything he can to rescue others of his kind. Part of his current, undercover mission involves infiltrating a top secret military facility where he comes in contact with a human scientist. A sexy scientist whom he’s ordered to protect.

What should have been an easy job turns into a fight for his life because it’s not just bullets and hit squads he’s got to worry about, but his heart.

How can one fragile female mean so much? It’s almost too much for a rational-minded cyborg to understand. When the choice is given, escape or let her die, he lets his heart decide, and after that, things start to explode—literally.
A very exciting addtion to the Cyborg series, but I think this book really needs to be read after you have read the others. While pervious books could stand alone, this one brings in some politics and history that you may not fully grasp without having read the previous books.

Adam is a rebel leader for the Cyborgs and has infiltrated a secret military base to try and figure out what they are doing and to rescue any captured Cyborgs while he is there. Here is meets a really fun scientist. I so loved her internal dialog. It really had me cracking up, and her curiosity sets off a chain of events that appears to carry through into the next book as well.

A lot of the Cyborgs we met in past books make an appearance, and they are very important players in the story - which is why you should read the previous books first. There are a few times when Avion, the main character in the next book, steals the show from our main couple here. But I really can't wait to read the next book because of it either!

There is tons of action, explosions (of multiple definitions), and it was an amazing story. I just wish it had concentrated on Adam and his girl a little more.

Excerpt

How can you not have a television in your living room?” He couldn’t help blurting his incredulous query.

“Because I don’t need one.”

“Don’t need one?” He practically sputtered the words, his disbelief overwhelming. “But what do you do to entertain yourself? How do you play video games? Watch movies?” While it should be noted, he could technically do all these things wirelessly, there was a tactile enjoyment in flopping in a comfortable chair or couch and munching on dietary useless carbs while visually enjoying the antics of good cinema or challenging his dexterous skills as he manipulated a video game controller.

“I work most of the time, and when I’m not working, or researching, I’m sleeping.”

“Surely you do something for relaxation? Your entire life can’t revolve around the lab?”

“I like my work, but if you must know, I do also like to read.” At his raised brow, she blushed, the pink in her cheeks enticing. “Non-fiction books usually about my work.”

“But what about having fun?” As she shifted her stance, adopting a defensive posture, he realized how his accusation might sound. I just accused her of being boring.

“Who says I’m not enjoying myself?”

“Me. Don’t forget, I’ve been watching you for some time now, and with the exception of tonight, when the director left you that mysterious cooler, your heart rate has never spiked, your eyes haven’t shone with excitement, and I’ve certainly never heard you laugh.”

“How would you know if my heart beats faster? For all you know, I’m in a constant adrenaline rush when I’m working. I’m a scientist. I get a kick out of discovery.”

A snort escaped him. “What a load of crap.”

Spine straight, she fixed him with a glare. “Would you mind not insulting me in my own home? What business is it of yours anyhow how I entertain myself?”

“It’s none of my business. But I’d hate to think you’re missing out.”

“Missing out? On what? Fictional creations about absurd situations?”

“Forget television for a moment. What about the simple rush you get out of doing something for pleasure? Like hiking up a scenic mountain. Scuba diving and observing the beauty of nature on a coral reef.” Things that even he, with his analytical mind, could appreciate. “What about the enjoyment that comes out of sharing an adventure with a friend, or a lover…” Why was it, when it came to Doctor Laura, his mind always revolved back to more intimate matters? She drew him like no other.

Her expression turned sad for a moment before tightening. “My work is important. Time enough later for me to indulge in frivolous activities.”

“Or you could squeeze time in for them now.”

“Says the guy assigned to watch over me. Don’t tell me you think us going out to paint the town red is a good idea, given the threat supposedly to CyberGlys employees.”

“You don’t have to go out to have fun.”

“So what do you propose we do? Play a board game? Cards?”

“I’ve got something better than that.” Before she could question him some more, he showed her what he meant.

Reeling her into his arms didn’t take any thought, or weighing of the pros and cons of his actions. He’d wanted to kiss her all evening. Weeks even. Pretty much from the first moment he’d begun observing her he’d wanted to see if her lush lips would prove pliant under his.

They were. Soft and welcoming.

For so long, he’d wanted to draw her against him and see how she molded to his frame.

She fit perfectly, her lush curves a perfect complement to his hard body.

He’d wanted to see if, beneath her prim and serious exterior, there lurked passion.

By all the nanos in his body, she practically melted him with the heat she unleashed with just one long, and sensual, kiss.

With his senses tingling, their lips separated, and they stared at each other, her bright brown eyes behind her glasses meeting his gaze with wonder. A wonder he understood. Her breath, already coming faster, brushed warmly against him.

The moment stretched, fraught with anticipation and desire. The cognitive part of his brain suggested he step away. Getting involved with the doctor, however pleasurable, wasn’t part of his mission. It could prove a danger, especially given her scientific background. What if she recognized what he was? She could jeopardize more than his life. It was an unacceptable risk.

And yet…

The man within said fuck it.

He crushed her to him, his arms wrapping around her tight, his mouth claiming hers with intensity and determination. She will know excitement.

Already her heart raced. It pounded, the blood in her coursing frantically as it brought all of her nerves alive. At the same time, her body went limp in his arms, a languorous arousal weakening her muscles. But she needn’t fear falling.

I have her, and I’m not letting go. I will show her pleasure. With me. And only me.

He could no more help the possessive feelings than he could resist her allure.

Her desire for him rose in a musky perfume, the layers of clothes separating them, unable to hide the evidence, not with his enhanced senses.

It served only to heighten his arousal. Hard. Harder than the steel they’d strengthened his bones with. Harder than the locks on the firewalls guarding his electronic secrets. So hard…it hurt?

Pain wasn’t something he needed to feel unless he chose to, yet with her, he let the agony of wanting her and holding back fill him. The wild urgency was intoxicating. Not ruled by programming or rational thought, he just felt. Felt on a level he’d not imagined.

It made him forget where he was, who he was, and the danger his very existence posed. But lucky for them both, he was capable of faster-than-human reaction because, when the window shattered, he knew enough to spin his body and present his back in the split second before the deadly shards blasted them.

But more ominous than the deadly rain of glass was the thump and ticking of the metallic ball with its flashing red warning.

A bomb. Ah, hell.

About the Author:

~ A New York Times & USA Today Bestseller
~ #1 Amazon Paranormal Romance Bestselling Author
~ Top 10 AllRomance Bestselling Author 2013

Hello, my name is Eve. I’m a stay at home mom who writes full time in between juggling my three kids, hubby, and housework, I write really raunchy stuff–usually with werewolves lol.

I am a bestselling Amazon author, ranking often in their to 100 romance authors. But I’m not just popular with Kindle readers. I was one of the top ten selling authors on AllRomance for 2013 and have had numerous of my books hit the top 20 books over all on Barnes & Nobles as well.

I am the first person to admit I am totally boring and lead a mundane life. Seriously. My idea of fun is shopping at our local Walmart lol. I like to play video games, cook, and read. My inspiration, hmm, I guess you could say hubby as he is a total alpha male which means I often want to club him over head with a frying pan. But, despite his ornery, ‘I-am-man’ nature, I love him dearly.

I’m writing romance, my way. I do have a twisted imagination and a sarcastic sense of humor something I like to let loose in my writing. I like strong alpha males, naked chests and werewolves. Lots of werewolves. In fact, you’ll notice most of my multi partner stories revolve around great, big, overprotective Lycans who just want to please their woman. I am also extremely partial to aliens, you know the kind who abduct their woman and then drive them insane…with pleasure of course.

My heroines, they kind of run the gamut. I have some that are shy and soft spoken, others that will kick a man in the balls and laugh. Many of them are chubby, because in my world, girls with curves ROCK! Oh and some of my heroines are a teeny tiny bit evil, but in their defense, they need love too.

Some of my work does push boundaries and cross lines. Good and evil aren’t always clear in my tales, and in some cases, I’ve stomped on well known religious ideologies. Have I mentioned my imagination is a tad bit warped?

I tend to have a lot of sexual tension in my tales because I think all torrid love affairs start with a tingle in our tummies. And when my characters do finally give in to the needs of their flesh? Well, let’s just say, you shouldn’t be reading my stuff at work. The door is wide open, explicit and hot. Really, really hot.

I love to write, and while I don’t always know what my mind is going to come up with next, I can promise it will be fun, probably humorous and most of all romantic, because I love a happily ever after.

Are you ready for a grizzly kind of love?

His mother would have beaten him to within an inch of his life, if she knew Travis had the hots for the town doctor, but he couldn't help it.

Dr. Jess, a redhead with a few years on him, was his soulmate. His inner grizzly knew it. He knew it. Suspected she did as well. But he did have one dilemma standing in his way.

Her husband.

Talk about inconvenient.

Good thing Travis was tenacious. Even if he has to travel half a continent, and brave some hot sands, subsist on crappy food and survive attempts on his life he won't give up until he wins her heart.

Or dies trying.

Jess made a mistake. She married too young, to the wrong man. Problem is, hawks mate for life, and murder is against the law. To add more insult to the situation, her mate won't even attempt to be a husband. It seems he isn't interested in keeping his vows, nor is he coming home anytime soon, so when the chance arises to confront him, she takes it. However facing him changes nothing.

Freddie doesn't want her...but Travis does.

And oh how she wants him too. Wants and yet can't have him.

However, her marital problems aren't the only issue. Their pursuit of the nefarious being behind the attacks on their town is being sabotaged by treachery. When Jess and Travis barely survive an ambush, she can no longer deny her love for the rascally bear. But will they survive enough to see if it's possible for her to rectify a wrong and take him as her mate?
Oh Travis - it's about time you found a way to get out from underneath mommy's thumb.  The happy-go-lucky grizzly has been a favorite side character throughout the series and it's about time he found a love for himself.  Too bad she's already married.  Jess was an interesting character.  I'm not normally one that goes for the married girl finding someone new - but with a husband like her's?  I think I actually rooted for her to move one - a new one for me.

We travel far from Kodiak Point in this one in pursuit of the bad guy, and find a whole ton of them waiting.  There is a lot of action in this one and there were a few times I thought they were all done for.  Lots of twists and turns, including some unexpected people showing up in the nick of time to help save the day.  I was shocked and surprised the whole way through.

The ending.....hmmm...the ending was incredibly satisfying with a bit of a look at how everyone we've met so far is doing in Kodiak Point.  There's so much more I want to say about it, but it would just give the whole thing away.  So when you read it, let me know and we can figure out if it's all true.

She might think she’s captured the wolf, but in the end, he’ll take her heart.

Brody is a soldier who misses the excitement of the military and its missions. He retired to work as clan beta in Kodiak Point. Talk about boring, until he’s captured by a foreign enemy.

Him, a prisoner?

Not for long. This wolf will do anything in order to get away–even if it involves seduction.

First step in plotting his escape: pretend interest in a woman. But Layla isn’t just any woman. She’s special.

Not human. Not shifter. He doesn’t know what this exotic lady is other than his.

A prisoner for years, Layla isn’t sure what to make of the enemy who shares a cell with her. He promises her hope, but that would involve trust. Despite her doubts, she can’t help but be drawn to him. Unacceptable which means she does her best to drive him nuts.

Working together, can they escape the clutches of the enemy?

And do they dare fall in love?

Welcome to Kodiak Point, where the wildlife might wear clothes, but animal instinct rules the heart.
Let's start with what I loved about Wolf's Capture.  I loved Brody and his wolf.  They were beyond adorable and their little conversations were so great!  I love it when a shifter can actually interact with their inner animal.  Brody is also one very clever man.  His training in the military was perfect for this situation and he has quite a few great ideas.  Layla was a little more iffy at first for me.  I couldn't decide if I thought she was weak for doing what she was told, or if she was strong for not letting it completely break her.  In the end, she ended being a very strong, if occasionally overly sassy, heroine.

The one little tiny thing that I didn't quite like was the length of the escape attempt and the planning (or lack of) that led up to it.  Maybe I was just being impatient, but I really wanted them to just get their butts moving already!  While I appreciated the level of detail that went into figuring it all out, it just took a tad too long for me.

The end of the book was fantastic.  I got to see some of the awesome guys from Kodiak Point again - but I wish we could see the girls as well.  I bet Tammy could really whip some butt if she wanted to and Jan was quite the bad ass already.  The ending of the story reveals a ton of stuff - but still not quite enough to solve the mysteries that have been hanging on so far through the series.  Eve Langlais is doing a great job of giving enough new clues each time without really telling us what's going on.

This all means that I will most definitely be reading Grizzly Love when it comes out - soon I think.

Damn it, a man had his pride and a
caribou a certain majestic presence, all of which
could wind up ruined if he abased himself to play a simple-minded reindeer in the town’s Christmas parade.

No way was he wearing damned tinsel in his antlers.

Like hell was he sporting a red nose and pulling a sleigh.

But he changes his mind when he meets the woman in charge of the event.

Single mom, Crystal, is doing her best to offer her daughter the best Christmas ever. It’s their first in Kodiak Point, and she’s not about to let some vain jerk ruin it for her little girl.

If playing dirty is what it takes…then bring on the Christmas games. As Crystal and Kyle butt heads—and lips—they discover more than goodwill this holiday season. They’re gifted with a second chance at love.
Eve Langlais brings a nice dose of humor to the holiday season in Caribou's Gift with a sweet and funny look at Kodiak Point over Christmas.  The small town comes together and puts on quite a Christmas parade for the kids, but this year it may be missing a very important player - Rudolph.  They are one reindeer short and everyone is hoping Kyle (the caribou - close enough) will be convinced to play the part.

It's going to take more than just a few sweet words from the hot newcomer, Crystal, to convince Kyle to play the part of the red-nosed reindeer - and his convincing comes in a smaller pint sized version named Gigi whose only wish is to see Rudolph.  The little kitten is super cute and adorable, but also terrified of everything - for good reason.

These two unlikely friends are going to teach each other a few things this holiday season.  The spirit of Christmas is very much alive in these pages and the only thing missing was our bad guy from previous stories - I'm sure he'll be returning after his Christmas vacation.

Abducted by a space pirate, she fights the temptation to let him plunder her goods.

A boyfriend’s attempted murder leaves Megan floundering in the ocean. Sinking without hope, the bright light she sees in the night sky isn’t her doorway to heaven, but rather the beginning of her accidental abduction by a space pirate. While thankful of his rescue, Megan stays true to form and just can’t keep her mouth shut, even when he keeps threatening to kill her--or auction her off to the highest bidder. Even odder, despite her decision to not get involved with her wickedly hot captor, she can’t help craving his touch.

Tren retired from his job as a mercenary so he could enjoy life, but he never counted on the boredom of normalcy. The acquisition of rare items has somewhat filled the void, but his accidental abduction of an outspoken earthling, who doesn’t know when to shut up, turns his life upside. Her fiery spirit draws him while at the same time drives him insane. Struggling with his urges, he must decide-- throttle her barbarian neck or ravish her delectably lush body?

Despite what his heart tries to tell him, he’s determined to sell her to the highest bidder even as he seduces her body. However, despite his best intentions, he discovers he can’t let her go. And when a foe from his past thinks to steal her, he’ll do anything to get her back.
Eve's purple aliens are something most of her fans know about - I'd heard of them, seen the covers, read the reviews, and finally decided I should just get started.  This is one of the few science fiction romance authors that seems to do so much right.  Her aliens are purple - they are not made up quite the same as a human male - but they work in all the right spots.  Tren is a great introduction to the purple aliens (I'm not sure if their species was ever given a name).  He is tough, protective, knows how to get the job done, and isn't too hard to look at.  Although the purple probably took some getting used to.

Megan is unlucky.  Not only did her boyfriend just leave her in the ocean to drown, but now she's been abducted by an alien.  She tries to take it all in a stride - and she's a little too successful.  I would expect at least a few break downs along the way, but she is one tough cookie.  She mouths off to him every chance she gets and soon he finds out that he actually enjoys her nagging!  The part that did bother me a bit was her casual nonchalance when other aliens were killed by Tren.  I know they weren't human so she may have been able to separate herself a little, but she didn't seem to care.

Megan and Tren fall in love by arguing with each other until they decide that having sex is the best way to keep the other quiet.  It works quite well until several blasts from the past come back to haunt Tren.  His protective instincts were fantastic and I loved how devoted he was.  This was a great introduction to the series, and I know it will only get better.

What's a bear to do when a human has a polar-izing effect?

When Vicky accidentally slides into the side of a polar bear, she doesn't expect to fall in love. Eaten yes, perhaps used as a chew toy, but become the object of a bear's affection and lust?

Crazy! Almost as crazy as the fact the polar bear turns out to be a man. A sexy man. A man who growls, and roars and does everything he can to chase her away.

Only to come back.

Gene only has one thing on his mind, vengeance, until Vicky crashes into his life.

Poor Gene. After the pain and betrayal he suffered in the war all he wants is revenge against the brothers who left him behind. But he's confused when instead of wanting to punish him for his evil acts, they offer him forgiveness.

Who does that?!

As if that weren't annoying enough, the cutest geek he ever met--with caramel kissed skin and wearing the sexiest dark rimmed glasses--won't leave him alone. Or more like, he can't seem to stop following her.

And it isn't just because someone is out to hurt her.

He wants her. But does he want her more than vengeance?

Welcome to Kodiak Point where the wildlife might wear clothes, but animal instinct rules the heart.
This one didn't hit me quite as nicely as the previous books in the series.  I think Eve tends to have such amazing books, that I have extremely high expectations of her.  This book was still a great story, just fell a bit short of some of her others.  Vicky was a great character at first.  She was nerdy and a klutz and I could totally relate to her.  Her first meeting with Gene had me laughing out loud.  Vicky's penchant for fainting was something new and a bit different.  It added a depth to her character that and gave her a bit of a humorous edge.

Gene was a little too hard and stubborn for me to really like though.  He's repeated references to him reminded me a bit of "he who shall not be named" from Harry Potter.  I know it is not an issue of fear of saying his name, but something else that is revealed in the story so I won't tell you what it is.  His refusal to admit and act on his feelings took up a large part of the story.  I really wanted to see the two of them together for a much longer time than I got to.

The assassins that we run into near the beginning of the story gave a good dose of excitement to the story that was able to carry through the story and kept me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to pop up next.  This was a great book - just not quite as great as the first two.

Francine’s loved Mitchell, a wolf like herself, since she first set
eyes on him back when they were just kids. However, Mitchell’s never seen her as more than another annoying sister. Determined to make him realize she’s all grown up, she enlists the aide of Alejandro, a gorgeous cat shifter. She never counted on wanting them both.

Alejandro knows Francine is special from the first moment he meets the fiery plump wolf, which is why he suggests she use him to make Mitchell jealous. A great plan, especially if it means getting to kiss those luscious lips. One taste though, and he’s addicted, but how does he make her see past the man she loves to realize she’s also meant to be his mate.

For a long time now Mitchell’s been running from Francine, certain she’s mistaken that their destiny’s lie together. However, the little girl he remembers is all grown up, and when he sees her in the arms of another, a need to claim her overrides all his common sense. But, he’s waited too long and fate has decided that he’s going to have to share. Can he bend enough to accept Francine and another man, or will his jealousy keep him freakn’?

Oh, Francine I loved you so much.  Your mouth, your foul language and off-colored jokes had me laughing and enjoying the dialog you shared with everyone.  You were full of energy and I loved that you knew what you wanted and would do everything in your power get it.  Alejandro - you were one sexy cat and I'd adopt you in a heartbeat.  I loved your attitude and willingness to give the wolf you were falling for anything and everything she needed to be happy.  But Mitchell, you naughty pup.  Your jealousy was just a bit too much for me.  It took you far too long to admit how you felt to yourself and even then you were a bit selfish and just didn't want to share.  Shame on you for making her wait for so long and then making her feel bad because she loved you both.

As you can see, the characters are really what captivated me in Jealous and Freakn'.  Francine was amazing - I want to see more of her.  I can see why she would need two men to keep her occupied.  I really loved Alejandro as well, but Mitchell - he just seemed like such a jerk!  He was down right mean to Francine at times and his actions cause a lot of trouble.  I almost wanted him to get let down and not end up with the girl.

In the long run, Eve fixed all her people up quite nicely and I was very happy with the ending - but getting there was a little more rough for me in this one.  I just don't think I like the way jealousy looks on one of the main guys.   We get to have a couple bad guys in this book that you just love to not like.  And Eve dishes out some wonderful poetic justice to them in the end that I loved.

Don't moose with his fox!

A bullheaded moose doesn't stand a chance when a fox decides to make him her mate.

Boris left to defend his country still a boy. He came back a changed man. A damaged man.

But Jan still wants him.

A man of few words, Boris has a firm way of saying No, but this determined vixen knows he's her mate. Despite some less than subtle overtures, Jan has not had much success in getting her bullheaded moose to notice her, but all that changes when her life is put in danger.

Suddenly the damaged soldier keeps finding excuses to come to her rescue, but as far as Jan is concerned, her mate is the one in need of saving.

It will take some subtle maneuvering to outfox her moose into admitting he loves her, but this wily vixen is more than ready for the challenge. And if that doesn't work, momma's offered to loan her the shot gun used for her own engagement.

Welcome to Kodiak Point, where the wildlife might wear clothes, but animal instinct rules the heart.

I've been looking forward to this one - with it's unusual shifters and great setting.  I mean, who has ever read about a moose shifter as the main character?  Well, Boris was brilliant.  I could totally picture him as a moose and he was the perfect match for the sly little foxy vixen, Jan. Jan was also the perfect personality for her animal.  A cross between sophisticated woman and redneck ninja hunter, she was constantly surprising me (and Boris).

In Outfoxed by Love we get to learn a little bit more about the history of the town and its major inhabitants.  Boris and his friends had been in the war - and their part of it wasn't pretty.  Boris is plagued by PTSD, an issue that is very real and afflicts so many people when they come home.  Eve wrote the situation very well and I felt for Boris every step of the way.  His PTSD is his reason for avoiding Jan - even though his moose knows that she's the right one for both of them.

Jan would do anything to prove to Boris they were right for each other, and this attitude gets her into a heap of trouble.  This is where the story gets beyond good as we get to see the bad guy again, and learn a whole lot about him and why he's set to hurt these people.  I can't say too much, but I do know he's a main character in book three - so he's not just going to go away.

Kodiak's Claim by Eve Langlais
He might growl, but she’s not afraid to bite.

Hands full taking care of his clan, the last thing this Kodiak bear needs is a woman poking her cute little nose into his affairs. But when she refuses to back down—and shows the courage to stand up to him—he can’t resist the allure of a curvy city girl.

She’s mine. All mine.

And when a rival clan thinks to use her to force his paw, he’ll show them why you never piss off a Kodiak, or threaten what’s his.

Tammy is convinced men are all scum, even gorgeous ones like Reid Carver. She knows he’s hiding something. Something big. She just never expected a real freaking bear hid underneath all those muscles. But when the truth comes out and he tries to scare her off with a roar, she shows him not just bears have bite.

I have fallen in love with Eve's shifters.  They are a wonderful mix of traditional lore with a nice little twist to their world to make them unique.  The setting and history of Kodiak Point really stood out to me in this one.  I loved how remote and some-what self-sufficient the town was.  It was it's own little shifter world tucked out in the Alaskan wilderness.  Eve really brought that wilderness to life and showed several times just how remote the place was.

At first I missed some of Eve's clever dialog.  Reid Carver just doesn't seem to say a whole lot at first, but once he opened up a little the lovely way she has of speaking for her characters came to life once again.  I loved Reid and his bear - they both seemed to have quite a mind of their own, and frequently disagreed on what to do about Tammy.  He is the alpha and leader of Kodiak Point and takes his job very seriously.  So when Tammy shows up to investigate his insurance claims, he's determined to keep things professional and make sure she doesn't know the true nature of the town's residents.

Well, he fails miseably.  Not only does Tammy end up falling for him, but she's convinced something fishy is going on.  While investigating the claim things get a little strange.  Her time with Reid leads to some danger as whoever is targeting him decides to use her to get to him.  This was a very exciting part of the story line and I stayed up late to make sure I could find out what happened.

The ending was beautifully written.  It really highlighted why these two were so perfect for each other.  Throughout the book we meet several other residents of Kodiak Point and their stories promise to be just as much fun as this one.

Dammit, just how many toes was she going to have to stomp on before people
realized she was a Delicate Freakn’ Flower?

Naomi doesn't want to follow tradition and settle down with a violence-loving, chest thumping shapeshifter. She grew up in a household with five, testosterone laden brothers where none of the dishes ever matched, the ugly-as-sin furniture could withstand any catastrophe, and where crazy glue was bought by the case.

When fate - with a snicker - makes her meet not one, but two mates, Naomi digs her heels in and refuses to do what her wolf - and her body - demands. No way is she voluntarily allowing herself to get hitched to a pair of dumbass - totally hot and muscled-lacrosse players.

Can Ethan, the towering Kodiak bear, and Javier, the sexy, tanned jaguar convince this she-wolf that life with them won’t be all chaos? And can this delicate freakn’ flower unbend her prejudices enough to recognize she needs a pair of men who can handle her thorns - and her passion?

Warning: this is a hot threesome story where all the focus is on her with pleasurable consequences.
This was a good start to Eve Langlais' Freakn' Shifters series.  The story had a great mix of comedic dialog, fun characters, romance, and just a tiny bit of suspense to help pull everything together.  Naomi is so set against marrying, dating, just about anything with another shifter and she is very vocal about it.  So when she finds out that she's found her mate in not one, but two, aggressive shifters she is set to change her fate.  They, or course, have something much different (and far more fun) in mind and go about trying to woo her (yes, woo her - in their own words).

Naomi was a fun character.  I lover her tough exterior hiding a woman looking for tender loving underneath.  Unfortunately, she was also a bit annoying after awhile and I sort of wanted to slap her.  Her constant complaining about violence (while dishing out some good shots of her own) was cut at first, but by the time I had heard about it over and over again it got a bit old.  I know you don't like violence and you think you're super tough - I want to see something new now.  She did change a lot throughout the story and a dynamic character is always loved though.  You could say I had a love-hate relationship with her.  That in and and of itself is hard to write.

Ethan and Javier handled her brilliantly though.  Their scheme of giving her everything she says she wants (unless mamma wolf said otherwise) was the perfect way to handle this rough and tumble wolf of theirs.  They were also incredibly different from each other.  While both had a tender side and rough side, the way they showed these sides was great.  Each showing a caring and protective nature, while still staying very unique themselves.

The story throws in a bit of excitement with a small mystery that helped to draw all the small bits and pieces together and show Naomi that she could love and trust her two mates to take care of her the way she wanted.
