In Legal Wolf's Mate, taking on a pro bono murder case isn't a problem for a lawyer who enjoys a challenge. Discovering his new client is his mate? A tad more complicated. Gavin has no intention of settling down, especially not with a woman accused of murder, but once he sets eyes on Megan, his fate is sealed.

In The Alpha's Woman, Kira Radney is all delicious curves and strong will and has no desire to be a subservient mate. When a member of her father's pack attempts to make her his mate by force, Kira has no choice but to flee. The last thing she wants is to submit to any male and their pack. But when her escape attempt leads her straight into the arms of an alpha wolf—a sexy, dangerous, protective alpha—Kira must fight against her need to be free, and her secret desire to be controlled...

In Feral Passions, what better place for an adventurous woman to explore her wild side than a luxurious resort in northern California's beautiful Trinity Alps? Especially when that resort is run by sexy werewolves looking for mates—Feral Passions Resort, where fantasies come true.
Legal Wolf by Eve Langlais was fun and light-hearted in way that only Eve can be when we have a woman being framed for murder and someone trying to kill her. Gavin and Megan are quite an interesting couple. A lawyer and a secretary framed for murder aren't what I would normally expect in a werewolf romance. But together they are a riot and are quite a cute couple. The dialog between them is fun and humorous. But, there are quire a few surprises in store. Megan throws a doozy at you and it makes me love her even more! The cherry on top was Broderick - a mouthy cat that gives us a chance to see Gavin in all his alpha goodness.

Feral Passions is quite the exclusive resort. Will someone please buy me a week's stay there?!?! Cherry is a lucky woman - taken to Feral Passions by her sister and her sister's friend. Where they get to enjoy a week vacation being waiting on by super-hot guys (that may or may not be werewolves) in a remote forest preserve. Heaven! I really love how Cherry changed throughout the story. The wolves are there for her to help boost her confidence and give her a new outlook on her life. Warning - this is the highest sexual rating in the anthology including menage - but it was soooo much fun. I felt like I was part of Cherry's world and now I really want to go back and visit again. Bonus: there's a side romance that runs through the background that is really great, too!

The Alpha's Woman was almost non-stop action and excitement. There's a strong tie to Greek mythology in this one that I really enjoyed. Being able to learn the history of the race of Lycans was just an amazing touch that really brought the story to life. Kira is on the run from her past and to her destiny, but she just doesn't know it. Blaeze was so very interesting. I loved hearing him talk about the history of his family. Blaeze and Kira are both something very special and unique - but I'll let you find out what exactly. Both are alpha's and watching them square off against each other was really great and led to some fantastic dialog and scenes.

Growl is an amazing mix of stories - all featuring really fun werewolf men. Each book is a very different tale that was exciting and sexy and so much fun to read.

First up author Kate Douglas!

Is there something specific you look for in a review? If so what?
When I read reviews for other authors’ books, I look for a tight, well-written synopsis that tells me what the story is about and gives me a feel for the author’s voice. I pay more attention to that than to the opinion part of a review, because reviews can be so subjective, and the reviewer’s opinion might not represent my reaction to the same story.
A good example would be some of the reader reviews that showed up for my first Wolf Tales book on Amazon. It was so “over the top” sexy, that I think it shocked a lot of readers who got more than they expected, so they wrote a lot of one star reviews where readers complained about all the graphic sex. Rather than hurt sales, Wolf Tales sold out and went into reprints the month it released. Obviously, a lot of readers wanted that explicit sex.

If you send your books to a book review blog, is there something specific you look for when you’re looking at their blog?

Easy to read, for one thing. I can’t read a black background with white writing—it hurts my eyes, and I’d never send a book to one set up in a manner that’s difficult to read. I like a site that’s not too busy, that’s easy to negotiate. I spend twelve or more hours a day on my computer writing—I don’t have time to have to search for something on a website or blog.
The ability to write a good review is important. You wouldn’t believe how many reviews I get that are so poorly written I can’t even pull a quote from them. I would never use a poorly written review to promote my books, and there’s nothing more infuriating than a grammatically incorrect review that trashes my book. My reaction is generally along the lines of, “This reviewer can’t even write a proper sentence and she’s saying my books suck? I don’t think so...”

What type of review do you like best: short or long?
I prefer a shorter review with a tight synopsis of the story.

What do you think about spoilers in reviews?
Intentional spoilers in reviews are inexcusable. I have asked more than one reviewer to remove spoilers, and generally reviewers have been terrific about it. I don’t think it’s done maliciously—it’s just that what seems like an important spoiler to the author may not be as important to the reviewer. However, I was really pleased at  how few reviews gave away the death of a character in Wolf Tales 10. I had let my readers know I was killing off a packmate and gave them the option of finding out who it was in advance of the book’s release or not. A lot of readers wanted to know so they wouldn’t get a nasty surprise, but others were just the opposite. Only one review that I can think of had a spoiler before the book released, and the reviewer removed the character’s name at my request.

Now let’s talk about rating systems. On a scale of 1-5 stars, what would be your opinion of the ratings? Starting with the lowest at one first.
1. Wall-banger. Not worth the trip to the store to buy the book.
2. Issues that interfere with the story—read it only if you’ve got a lot of free time.
3. Okay but not great. An acceptable read that could have been better.
4. A good book. Well-written and definitely one you’ll enjoy.
5. Gets a place on the keeper shelf. Good enough to keep you thinking about the story, the characters and probably wanting to reread it immediately—and wondering when the author’s next book is coming.

What do you think about sexual ratings?  Some reviewers use them.
I like them—especially with books like my Wolf Tales, which are so sexy that some readers really do find them offensive. I like the fact the back of each book has a warning: This is a really hot book. (Sexually explicit) When someone reads one and complains about the sex, I can merely remind them that they were warned! Romantic Times book reviews has a good sexual rating system: Scorcher, Hot, Mild, etc.
It’s important to define your ratings, since every reader sees the sex in books differently.

What do reviewers do that irks you the most?
·         Reviewing books without reading them, something that’s obvious in their lack of understanding of the story. Happens more often than you realize.
·         Not proof-reading their reviews—especially frustrating if it’s a good review, because as an author, you want to promote the book with positive reviews, but personally there’s no way I’d send anyone to a site with a great review of my book that’s full of mistakes.
·         Spoilers
·         Selling ARCs (advance reader copies) on eBay or uploading electronic files to pirate sites—and yes, it does happen.

What do you think about awards given to books by a review blogger?
If the blog site owner chooses the awards, it’s great, but if they require readers to vote, then they’re just popularity contests where authors are expected to go out and beg for votes. I won’t vote for a book I haven’t read and I won’t ask for votes from people who haven’t read my books, so I tend to ignore award contests held at review sites. To be honest, my schedule is so busy I just don’t have time worry about things like that. But yes, if it’s something done entirely by the blogger or their reviewers, then it’s very cool.

As readers/reviewers we love book giveaways. How do you feel about them?
I love to give away books. I get a lot of author copies from my publisher for just that purpose, and I buy more on my own to give as prizes. The more of my books that are in the hands of Internet savvy readers, the more chance that they’ll be mentioned on-line or recommended on GoodReads or other sites. I want readers to have my books in their hands—I’m confident enough in my ability to tell a good story, that I figure those readers will keep coming back for more.
I give away books on my newsletter each month and whenever I blog—you should see my postage bill, especially since I will send anywhere in the world. I also give away stuffed animals—I had plush wolves for Wolf Tales and now I’ve got adorable little dogs that look like Bumper, my pit bull/poodle cross from the DemonSlayers series.

What would be your best piece of advice for a book blogger/reviewer?
Avoid snark. Even if it’s a really bad book, think of the author’s feelings when you’re writing the review. There are some reviewers out there who seem to take such great glee in tearing a book to shreds that it moves beyond the book and becomes a personal attack against the author. That’s not professional. It’s perfectly acceptable to not like a book—we all have different tastes and requirements in what we want to read—but a review can be negative without being nasty.
And I can’t emphasize this enough:  proof read. Look for errors in your own writing before you take it upon yourself to critique someone else’s work.

Is there anything else you like to add?
Actually, there is. I’ve gotten some terribly negative reviews over the years, and I really do treasure the ones where the reviewer carefully pointed out the weaknesses in a particular book—things I’d totally missed in the writing process. I don’t think there’s an author out there who doesn’t take a well-written yet negative review and dissect it in order to see where they can improve on the next book, so if you don’t like a book, don’t hesitate to give a good, honest review and say you don’t like it. But, be prepared to back up your claim with solid reasons.
Some of my beta readers are reviewers (they no longer review my books) who pointed out things I could have done better. I value their input so much that I now have them reading for me BEFORE the book goes to my editor! A good, critical reader is hard to find!

Guest author Kate Douglas and giveaways give aways now closed

Please welcome Kate Douglas!

What about those Beta heroes?

This is going to sound really dumb, but it wasn't until I read Victoria Dahl's wonderful contemporary romance, CRAZY FOR LOVE, that I realized what all four of my DemonSlayers stories have in common--first of all, an explanation. Victoria's hero Max is as neurotic as they come. He's OCD in a big way--worries about everything and has spent his entire life in denial, hiding the issues that truly rule his life. I LOVE Max Sullivan, because there's nothing I love more than a convoluted, multi-layered hero with issues, otherwise known as the beta hero.

And then it dawned on me--every single hero in all four of my DEMONSLAYERS stories is a beta! I'm so used to writing my alpha Chanku men in Wolf Tales that it didn't dawn on me that the men in these DemonSlayer stories were anything BUT alphas. Take Dax, my hero in DemonFire--he starts out as a demon who's too good for hell, gets kicked OUT of hell, aka the abyss, and ends up in the void. He's hired by the denizens of Paradise (aka heaven) to fight a demon invasion on earth, but before he can turn his demon powers on the bad guys, he gets hit with demonfire and a terrible curse that turns his powers against him. Throughout the entire story, it's not Dax saving the day, it's Eddy, the woman who rescues him from a demon possessed garden gnome. Does Dax fight Eddy for the right to be manly? No, because he accepts the fact she's tough and brave and knows more about earth than he does. And, by working together, they manage to survive everything the demon king throws at them. In fact, it’s Eddy who saves just about everyone, but did I recognize Dax as a beta? Nope. Missed it altogether. Go figure...

Then we get to HellFire--who's the hero? A Lemurian named Alton who's never fought a battle in his life. He ends up partnered with Ginny Jones, a tough woman of color with no fear at all and a secret that could very well change the course of the demon wars. Alton doesn't give Ginny a lot of grief--oh, he does try to protect her, but he quickly learns that Ginny is a lot tougher than she looks. She's smart and self-confident, and Alton hasn't got a chance. But he's most definitely not an alpha hero. No, he's a simple man, even though he's an immortal Lemurian, and he lets Ginny take the lead...though he really, REALLY wants to drive her car. And again, I thought I was writing the typical alpha male. Uh...nope. Not Alton.

The book that's coming out April 1 as a Kindle or Nook, and on April 5 in print, StarFire, has another beta hero. This one I kind of guessed, bu that’s because Dawson Buck is a nerd. No excuses--he knows he's a nerd. He's a veterinarian who prefers animals to people because they don't come with baggage. He's cute and sweet and his employees love to tease him because he believes in things--like the energy vortexes around Sedona, and Lemurians and demons. What they don't know is that he believes because he's seen them--in HellFire he's the one who comes up with a way to capture demons when they become nothing more than wraiths to escape--he sucks them up with his shop vacuum and freezes them in little baggies--demon cubes! In StarFire, he's asked to care for a badly injured Lemurian slave--one of the Forgotten Ones. Selyn has been so badly beaten that, had she been human, she would not have survived. But Lemurians are tough, and Dawson treats her injuries, and is drawn even deeper into the demon wars when he and Selyn end up deep within Lemuria fighting demonkind and helping to raise an army against the ungodly host. But Dawson always defers to Selyn's strength and intelligence, even as he's falling desperately in love with her. That alone is tearing him apart--she's immortal and he's not, so there's no point in loving her. Or is there? This story takes Dawson on the ride of his life, and I had a mental image of him blinking in wonder and astonishment at everything that happens to him.

I'm not going to say too much about CrystalFire, yet. :-) It comes out next fall, and this book will star the Lemurian philosopher Taron, and Willow, the will o' the wisp who was first introduced in DemonFire. Her body is gone and her consciousness trapped inside Bumper the dog, but there's a bit of a switch in the final story that ends up with Taron—and Willow as a lovely young woman—falling in love even as they are left to battle the demon king on their own. The fate of all worlds will depend on their success as the balance of good and evil comes closer to that final tipping point. All that is good is threatened to succumb to the power of evil. Or does it?

For now, I bring you StarFire and one of four of the sexiest beta heroes I can possibly imagine. Strong and loving, trustworthy and brave even when saddled with self-doubt and fear, they still come through in the end. I love all the levels of personality with these guys--they're smart and thoughtful, handsome and loving, and they love their women every bit as much as they respect their woman’s strength and intelligence. I just don't think it can get any better, ya know?

Of course, if you’re waiting on a good alpha, don’t forget that the final Wolf Tales book, Wolf Tales 12, releases at the end of June. I know you’re going to love this story! It answers all the questions you’ve had, and even some you might not have thought of. There’s a first chapter on my website if you’re a little bit curious.

Thanks, Laurie, for once again allowing me to hijack your blog! As always, I’ve got a couple of books to give away, though I’m NOT giving away a copy of StarFire. I really am hoping my readers will buy this book because I need to get the numbers up there. There’s a good chance that if StarFire does well, I’ll get to do my second generation series about the Chanku kids—I’m so anxious to write Lily and Alex and all the others as grown ups, but the publishing business is all about the numbers. (I am, however, giving two people who leave comments a chance to choose either DemonFire, HellFire or Nocturnal, or one of the newer Wolf Tales or Sexy Beast books)

Take care, all,

My Review
Rating-

Sexual-

A high action pack read. I did enjoy this read although it didn’t have as much humor to it as the first in the series. I loved the talking swords and the depth that Kate takes you into the world of the Lemurias. She explains a lot and makes you want more and I mean more, actually I was kind of mad at the end Kate takes you to a point about the Lemuria and then stops without telling the rest grrr. I wanted to know what happened to the slaves and the outrageous counsel, (especially Alton’s dad), but nope I didn’t get it I will have to wait for the next book…

I enjoyed the hero and heroine to a point, they started out really good then all the sudden Ginny gets a conscience and says I cant be with you because I will have to quit my job and fight demons, you know the whole I am woman and no man will rule me, this takes a while to get past, then they are on happy street again. Plus Ginny cries a lot. All in all these two weren’t that bad to read after Ginny figured out what she needed to be doing.

I did like this book more then the first because of Kate’s explaining more how this world works. The sex is slimmer than the first book, but there is enough to keep you going and what’s there is really hot. I loved the storyline and whose body the demon king took over, it took me a bit to figure that one out.

I will say to those that did like the first book to this series try this one its different. Especially for those who wanted more explanation on how this world was set up.

This book can stand alone, but if you want reading order here you go
1.Demonfire
2.Hellfire
3.Starfire not released yet.

7 days of Eroitc Summer Heat! Day #4 Kate Douglas interview and giveaway

You cant have erotic event without the amazing author Kate Douglas of Wolf Tale's. Please give her a warm welcome.
Kate is attending the RWA conference she may stop in or have someone fill in for her. I hope she is having fun and meeting a lot of people!

Laurie- Hello Kate. I am so glad you could bring your Wolf Tale's gang over to our blog today. Your Wolf Tales are really hot and erotic all the way. Would you tell us how you came across starting these books?

Kate-Thanks for having me, Laurie. Wolf Tales began in a weird way—first as a very short story of only a thousand words that I turned into a serial to help launch the new (at the time) publishing company, Changeling Press. Erotic romance was just becoming popular and my agent showed the series to Kensington editor Audrey LaFehr, who chose Wolf Tales to launch their new line of erotic romance, Aphrodisia. I had originally written a story about a woman who has a car accident during a blizzard and is rescued by a man she never sees. After a night of explosive sex, she wakes up on the side of the road, near the site of her accident, still with no idea who her lover has been. I took that anonymous encounter, decided I wanted the man to be a shapeshifter caught “mid-shift,” and my Chanku were born. The name Chanku, by the way, is actually the local name for a sub-species of Tibetan wolf, hence my Tibetan origins for my Chanku.

Laurie-Do you have a hard time coming up with different erotic scenes in your Wolf Tales or do they come naturally?

Kate-The erotic scenes are really easy for me to write, probably because I know my characters so well. I write from a very deep point of view, which means I get into the character’s head and write each scene as they experience it. I think it makes the sex scenes more powerful and helps create the emotional connection between reader and story that’s important to making a sex scene work the way it should. Without that attachment, it becomes nothing more than pornography. We authors of erotic romance tread a fine line between a truly sensual scene and something that’s going to leave a reader feeling like they need to take a bath!

Laurie-You have been to a lot of author conventions. Would you tell us, a little of what its like as an author to go in the convention knowing your going to meet your fans?

Kate-I love conferences and conventions, mainly because I spend all my time writing and they’ve become just about my only social outlet. There’s nothing more fun than being surrounded by other readers! I think we all share a bond in that we love to read books that end well—there’s something about that “happily ever after” rule in romances that really works for me. Of course, meeting fans of my books is absolutely unreal. I’m still at the “pinch me” stage where it amazes me that people are reading and enjoying my books, that they see my characters as real people, just the way I do. It’s pretty amazing when you think about it!

Laurie-Can you tell us a little on what your working on next?

Kate-I’m just finishing up my final—for now—book in the Wolf Tales series: Wolf Tales 12. We’re going on hiatus with this series for awhile—after 21 books and novellas—between Wolf Tales and my Chanku stories in the Sexy Beast anthologies—it’s time for something new, though I fully intend to return to the series at some point and write the next generation’s stories. In this one, I’m planning to answer a lot of questions—where the Chanku originated, how long they live, and some of the secrets of their species that many of them don’t really know the answers to yet. I think it’s going to give readers some closure, while leaving the series open to continue with stories for all the kids.

Laurie-What do you have more of shoes or purses?

Kate-I have to admit to more purses than shoes, even though I generally carry just one favorite, a small Sven shoulder bag. However, our son’s mother-in-law owns a wonderful handbag shop called Clutch http://www.clutchhealdsburg.com/ and I can’t walk past that store without buying SOMETHING!

Laurie-If you would give us a sizzling hot male picture of your choice.

The photo I’ve attached is my “visual” for Igmutaka, the spirit guide in Wolf Tales who takes on a human appearance in Wolf Tales 10. I see him as a rather androgynous male—described more as beautiful than handsome. I saw the picture of this model online and knew he was Ig! I think readers of Wolf Tales 10 will agree—Ruben Cortada looks just right. He’s even got green eyes!

Thanks again for inviting me to blog with you—this is scheduled to appear while I’m in Orlando at the RWA conference, so I’ll do my best to stop in and answer readers’ questions. If I can’t, I’m sure Anton will be able to cover for me.

Interview/giveaway with Kate Douglas author of Demonslayers

We have a treat for you today. I was so happy to be able to interview Kate, she is really nice, plus an amazing writer. This interview is going to be a little about Kate and about her DemonFire series.

BbPNR-Please give us a little about Kate Douglas?

Kate Douglas- I’m a 60 year old grandmother of five—(property of our two grown kids—a son and a daughter and their spouses) and I’ve got a husband I’ve been hanging on to for 38 years. Of course, he’s REAL cute and the man vacuums...what more can a woman ask? J I’ve been writing forever—I wrote commercials for a country-western radio station in the early 1970s, right out of college, worked as a newspaper reporter and even did a public information cartoon strip for 17 years for the American Mosquito Control Association. (Anyone remember Skeeter Mosquito?) Now I write full time for Kensington Publishing with two successful series—Wolf Tales (which includes the Sexy Beast anthologies) and The DemonSlayers.

BbPNR-How did you get into writing?

Kate Douglas-I started writing fiction back in the mid 1980s, and since I loved reading romances, that’s what I decided I wanted to write. It took me a lot of years and a lot of rejections before I finally sold my first romance to Hard Shell Word Factory, an epublisher, in 1998. That was before anyone knew what an ebook was! I wrote four books for HSWF and then began writing erotic romances for Ellora’s Cave in 2001, and then moved to Loose Id and Changeling Press, two other epublishers. In 2005 I was writing a series called Wolf Tales for Changeling when my agent showed the stories to editor Audrey LaFehr at Kensington Publishing. Audrey loved the stories but didn’t have an imprint where they would fit, so the company started the Aphrodisia line. Those stories have done very well (the 18th comes out this month) and Kensington has since contracted me for a second series which is part of the Zebra imprint—The DemonSlayers.

BbPNR-What do you like to read?

Kate Douglas-I read everything, but my favorites are well-written romances. I probably read more paranormal than anything, though I love a good contemporary and will, on occasion, read historical romances. I also love science fiction, but paranormal romances are my first love.

BbPNR-You have been writing paranormal erotic. Why did you decide to write paranormal romance?

Kate Douglas-I think it was a natural choice, considering the fact I love science fiction and fantasy, and I also love the idea of starting out a book with “what if?” That’s really a cool question to answer, and it’s how I begin all my books.

BbPNR-What did you enjoy the most while writing DemonFire?

Kate Douglas-I loved the entire process, but the research was especially fun. My husband and I spent time around Mount Shasta, where the story is set, and that was really cool. We also went to Sedona, Arizona, and spent time there checking out the area, since that’s where HellFire is set. I love to travel to the places where my stories will be, as I think I can write better descriptions when I’ve actually seen the places where I set my stories.

BbPNR-For those who haven’t heard of Demonslayers, can you give them a little on this series?

Kate Douglas-The DemonSlayers is a four book series: DemonFire, HellFire, StarFire and CrystalFire. There’s also a novella (Crystal Dreams) coming out in an anthology in September called NOCTURNAL that’s part of the series. The DemonSlayers works with the real mythology of the energy vortexes that are supposedly in Mount Shasta and in many areas around Sedona, Arizona. It also draws on the mythology of the ancient Lemurians, a people who, according to legend, were forced from their island home by a great cataclysm and relocated to another dimension within the extinct volcano of Mount Shasta.

When I wrote the first book, DemonFire, I took those ideas and asked myself, “What if demons were using the vortexes to power portals between the hell of Abyss and Earth, and what if the only one who could fight them was an ex-demon who’s been kicked out of hell? AND, what if he is cursed before he can even fight the demons, and needs the help of a human woman who can control his curse, and a Lemurian capable of killing demons with a crystal sword? See? My “what ifs” gave me the whole concept!

BbPNR-Demons are not the only paranormal creature in this series, can you tell us what others exist?

Kate Douglas- I mentioned the Lemurians, who live within Mt. Shasta. There are also the Edenites—angels—they’re incapable of fighting, and they’re the ones who hire Dax and give him a human body to use as an avatar, but he’s only got it for one week. There’s also Willow, a little will-o’-the-wisp who looks like Tinkerbelle and helps Dax draw energy from the air around him. And, of course, there are the demons. They can’t function in Earth’s dimension without an avatar, and they begin taking over all kinds of critters, from ceramic garden gnomes to carved stone figurines and a big bronze statue. Eddy Marks is the human woman who gets caught up in all the excitement.

BbPNR-In the first chapter, you used a garden gnome to attack the hero, it cracked me up. I have to ask why the garden gnome to attack Dax and not something bigger?

Kate Douglas-When I first began to “see” this story in my head, the image of a demon-possessed garden gnome was one of the first things I had. For some reason, they’ve always looked pretty creepy to me, and I thought that would be the perfect way to open the story, with a demon-possessed garden gnome going after the hero.

BbPNR-Do you know how many books your going to write in Demonslayers?

Kate Douglas-The series will end with the fourth book. I’m not sure yet if there’s going to be a spin-off or not. Will have to wait and see what happens when I write that fourth book:)

BbPNR-Your second book is about Alton the Lemurian and Ginny, can you give us more about them?

Kate Douglas-Ginny Jones and Alton the Lemurian are both secondary characters who almost took over the first book. Sometimes that happens, where a character has such a strong presence that you can’t ignore them, and both of these were like that. Ginny is Eddy Marks’s best friend. They’ve been buddies since they were little kids—Ginny is African American and works as a 911 dispatcher and the first time Alton sees her, she’s fighting a huge, demon-possessed concrete bear that has her cornered behind a Dumpster in a parking lot. Alton falls hard and fast, though he knows there’s no hope for a relationship with a human woman because Lemurians are immortal and Ginny’s not. However, Ginny’s got secrets that even Alton can’t figure out, and they’re really going to change the dynamic of the relationship between the two. In DemonFire, Alton gives Ginny a subconscious compulsion to leave town and visit her cousins in Sedona—he says he’s doing it to keep her safe, but in reality, he wants the temptation Ginny represents to be as far away as he can get her. Unfortunately, demons are slipping into Sedona through a vortex powered portal outside of town, and Ginny ends up right in the middle of a demon invasion. Alton heads to Sedona to help her, and of course the sparks fly—and it’s NOT just from exploding demons!

Sexual- steaming HOT! when it get started.

You have to love a woman that can kill a evil garden gnome with glowing yellow eyes and stubby fingers caring a pitch fork. Hey, it was trying to kill her new man;)

This is a fantastic start for a series, loved it. This book has a very unique story about demons. I don’t want to give it all away but it a exciting adventure for a woman of earth (Eddy), a blond curly hair dog (Bumper), a tiny will-o-wisp (willow) form Eden, a demon (Dax) with a borrowed human body, a very tall gorgeous blond Lemurian (Alton) with a talking sword form Mount Shasta, and Eddy’s dad (Ed). You see the demon is invading a small town trying to take over the World and they are possessing items (you have to read to find out) and these listed has a hand in stopping them. This books has plenty of action, romance, some humor, adventure and making good friends. I really liked how the demon world was brought to the storyline it was just right not to little or to much and it was easy to understand.

**Few Spoilers**
I don’t want to give out how the demons gets to earth or what they use to stay here, but I would like to give a little insight on what Eddy has to battle its Dex tattoo its cursed and Eddy is the only one that can stop the tattoo form coming off of Dex this is very interesting.

Dex and Eddy together is great, they both have only a week together and they make the best of it. The romance between them is slow and easy for a time then picks up, its more in the lines of slow seduction and intimate. I found it very hot.

Willow and bumper adds a lot to the story, you have to read how a dog (bumper) and a will-o-wisp (willow) gets along for this adventure, you will also discover something unusual Willow can do with the Bumper its so cute.

If your like me and couldn’t get into Kate’s Wolf Tales series, this is nothing like them.

You get a good glimpse on who the next book will be about in this book, plus there is an expert in the back of the book of Hellfire. Now I can’t wait for the next one…
