Book Review: Kiss of Surrender by Sandra Hill

Title: Kiss of Surrender
Author: Sandra Hill
Source: Edelweiss
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Length: Novel
Release Date : November 27, 2012
Reviewer: Jasmyn
It's not easy being a Vampire Angel.
No one knows that better than Trond Sigurdsson. In the centuries since he last went out drinking and wenching with his Viking buds, Trond has been a gladiator, a cowboy, a ditch digger . . . even a sheik. But now he's the baddest of them all: a kick-ass Navy SEAL kicking butts of terrorist immortals with the help of his hotter-than-Hades female partner, police officer-turned-Special Forces operative Nicole Tasso—whom Trond dearly hopes to "partner" with very shortly in a whole different way.
The "cop" part of Nicole tells her there's something bizarre about her gorgeous godlike teammate. But her "all-woman" side can't help wondering how great it would be to have a virile Viking in her bed. Trond has secrets galore, but Nicole feels certain she can dig them out—and really get to the heart of this powerful, unnerving stranger whom she may be risking her soul to love.

ARC Review Morningside by Ashley Madau

Title: Morningside
Author: Ashley Madau
Publisher: Cambridge Press, US
Length: 242 pages
Reviewed by: Twigs

MorningsideIt’s easy to get caught up with bad-ass vampires, a killer love triangle, broken engagements, assumed clones, and enough sexual tension to drive anyone crazy.

Does society really know what it means to be a vampire? What it feels like? Tastes like? The struggles of going through life in a state of unacceptance, and using every fiber of your being to change?

MORNINGSIDE shows vampires in a new light. Humanity believes them to be one thing, without any deviation-- the perfection of a human hunter. One woman is able to prove them wrong. Trapped between both the mortal and immortal realms, she becomes the line between humans and vampires, and both the differences and similarities they share. When her life is put at stake, the worlds begin to collide.

Length: Novella

Julie Kensworth opens her door to more than a blizzard and greets two wayward cowboys. She realizes right away she’s headed straight for the eye of the storm.
Brandon Blake and Quinn Stewart are a long way from home. They’re looking for a warm place to hang their hats while they try to wait out the snow and ice, which continues to gain momentum.

Julie is an author and she’s not just the average writer, she’s one of the most notorious writers in the world. When Quinn and Blake figure out Julie is an erotic romance author, well, needless to say, their minds churn with all sorts of ideas, most of them geared toward how they can heat up the cold winter nights ahead.(less)

Rating- 2 1/2

Sexual-

I like the story and the characters, but there were times when I got lost in the novella. Don’t get me wrong this book is good, you’ll just have to take your time reading this one. I loved the idea that the heroine was an erotic book writer, I also loved the mystery that‘s has to do with the heroine. The heroes are very kind and helpful to Julie; then again they can be a bit nosy at time LOL. The sex scenes are hot, but it takes a while before you get to get to the sex (anal is included). So be warned. The anal scene are not to realistic, you don’t take someone who has never done anal before and expect them to be able to take on two guys the first time, then again this is fiction so it may not bother some of you.

Julie writes her dreams out in books and then one day she finds her dreams standing at her door during a buzzard. Now she just has to let herself go and live out her dreams, it’s just not that easy.

Tease
“She’s the Dr. Seuss of hot romance. He wrote about green eggs and Carla Carrington writes about prime beef.” Brandon grabbed his front bulge. “At least we know what kind of woman opened up her home to us.”

“Don’t get too excited. Not only did she put me in my place in that coal bin, but she also informed me that she wasn’t opening up anything more than her home as a means of hospitality.”

Brandon stuffed the books back where he found them, squeezing them in between other hardback and paperback titles. “At least we know she wouldn’t oppose the idea of two men, ya know?”

Review: Gentlemen Prefer Succbi by Jill Myles

Title: Gentlemen Preffr Succbi
Author: Jill Myles
Mass Paperback pages 332.. Paranormal Romance
Laurie's rating 2 1/2 of 5

Book Summary:
Jackie Brighton woke up in a dumpster this morning, and her day has only gotten weirder. Her breasts grew overnight, her sex drive is insatiable, and apparently she had her first one-night stand ever . . . with a fallen angel.
Of course, she only remembers gorgeous Noah’s enormous, er, package. And their steamy shower sex. Hmm . . . and the dark stranger whose bite transformed her into an immortal siren with a seductive Itch.
With help from Noah and fellow succubus Remy Summore, Jackie adapts to her new lifestyle—until she accidentally strikes a deal that sends her lover into the deadly clutches of the vampire queen and lands Jackie, Remy, and the queen’s wickedly hot right-hand man into the middle of a fierce battle for an ancient halo.
But how’s a girl supposed to save the world when the enemy’s so hard to resist

Laurie's review:
The good points in this book is. Its funny, has a great story line, hot sex, to me the book doesn’t really get good until you met Zane , but then of course, you end up finding out he started the whole thing grr.., I liked Noah, but I never got to really know Noah in depth as a character. I liked the queen the best you get a little on her background to know more why she is like she is..

Bad points for me is, Jackie was on my last nerve and again I never got to really know Jackie’s character in depth being this series is going to be about her, I think she gives Remy down the road for nothing, all Remy does it try to help. There is no closure at the end you don’t know who she ends up with, in other words NO HEA.

I agree with others this book is more on the lines of Urban Fantasy..

My biggest reason for the 2 ½ star is the book says Paranormal romance but I never read the romance there was sex but, I found no romance between either guy..
