Before she joined Reaper in hunting Gregor's gang of rogue bloodsuckers, privileged
princess Topaz was gunning for just one vamp: Jack Heart. The gorgeous con man had charmed his way into her bed, her heart and her bank account, taking her for half a million dollars and vanishing without a word. Now she and Jack--maddeningly attractive as ever-- are supposedly on the same side. As Reaper's ragtag outfit scatters, Topaz sets out to solve a mystery that's plagued her all her lives, mortal and immortal: what really happened to her movie-star mother, who died when Topaz was just a baby? With four men claiming to be her father, why has she always been alone? And what stake does Jack have in discovering the truth about her past? Topaz is sure he's up to something--but her suspicions are at war with her desires....
Topaz and Jack have a bad history together. He pretty much screwed her over (which you hear more about in the previous book) and now he can't understand why he feels guilty about it. Is he just having a crisis of conscience or has he lost his edge? Topaz is a firm believer of "fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me" and just isn't interested in anything Jack has to say. But he is a persistent vampire.

He joins Topaz on her quest to find out what really happened to her mother. Why is she so interested in this now? I wish I had known. It seemed a little sudden for such a major quest to pop up. The search for her mother was a great mystery with little clues left dangling just out of reach. It leads you on one direction and then another and then BAM!!! super twist!! You won't see it coming - even though I've just told you about it. You won't see it.

I miss the original set of vampires. I understand why Shayne had to move away from them, but I liked them so much more than this group. There are short appearances from one or two on occasion, but it just isn't enough for me. I wish I knew more about what's going on with Reaper as well, he's a very intriguing character, but I think he may be coming up pretty soon in a book just for him.

Betrayed by one of her own and turned into a vampire, hunter Eve is consumed by her hunger for vengeance and has spent five years surviving hell, driven to take the life of the man she once loved. But just as she is about to close in on the hunter-turned-vampire, an event is set in motion that threatens to see him slip beyond her grasp forever—the leader of her bloodline has sent an escort to bring her to the family’s mansion. To a nest of the very creatures she once hunted and loathes.

A vampire assassin hardened by centuries of service, Tor is a man of discipline and loyalty, never straying from his mission or the rules set out for him, and has purged all his weaknesses, including his emotions.

But the moment he meets the broken, fiery female he is to escort to Oslo, something dangerous awakens in him, something possessive and powerful, and when he is pulled into a deadly game of cat and mouse with the man who betrayed her, Tor discovers he will do anything to protect the woman slowly claiming his heart and give her the vengeance she desires—even break all the rules.

Can Eve embrace her new vampire nature in order to have her revenge and find a reason to live again in Tor? Can Tor and Eve stop the man who betrayed her and the deaths of thousands of innocents? Or will he succeed in creating a new army of hybrid vampires who will rise up against the purebloods?

. This was actually a quick read. I mean that in ta good way.The story line moved fast and was able to keep me turning the pages.

Although this is book 8 in the series, I have not read the other 7 and was able to follow along just fine. I didn't feel lost and was given enough background to follow along. It did, however, whet my appetite and make me curious about the previous.

Eve is being chased by the man she was loved and thought loved her. He did her wrong and in a big way. With this Eve is being transported against her will and escorted by Tor, who immediately has a connection with her and becomes all alpha  while trying to fight his feelings for her. They embark on a an action adventure journey to allow Eve her revenge.

I definitely recommend if you want some one the edge of your seat thrills.

Two worlds in danger. A Grand Witch behind bars. A stunning Werewolf and a devilishly handsome Warlock’s pursuit for her affections. You think you have it bad? Grand Witch Anna Wolfe awakens to find herself imprisoned by Micah, the Prince of Darkness. Micah’s on a quest for world domination—and it’s not just the Netherworld that’s in danger. The human world is threatened as well. Now, it’s up to Anna to escape from Micah's clutches so she can locate The Scholars and an ancient book before both fall into the wrong hands. With a fiercely loyal Werewolf and immensely powerful Warlock by her side, what can go wrong? A lot apparently. If fighting off the Prince of Darkness wasn't enough, Anna’s emotions are a whirlwind, as she battles between what fate demands and what she actually wants.
Saved by the Spell is the second book in the Anna Wolfe Series, and is an excellent second installment in the series. It picks up exactly where we left off and is full of action with a pinch of spice. I love all of the characters in this series, even the villain! I will admit that I am torn between  Roman & Valen, i'm hoping that she'll be with both, lol! Who could possibly decide between a sexy wolf or hot warlock?! While trying to save the world from becoming a playground for the Dark Prince & the Underworld, Anna is also trying to perfect her magical skills, and find the scholars who can help prevent Micah from taking over the world.
If you are looking for a fun action packed paranormal read, The Anna Wolf Series, I'll be Damned &  Saved by the Spell is definitely the way to go. I absolutely loved both of them, and highly recommend them!

Soaring Eagle has received the call to join the Order. The only problem is he doesn't remember anything but his name. Injured while on the way to join his new brothers, he meets Ana, a mysterious female he's immediately drawn to. Unable to fight the mating call, their souls bond. Just when it seem nothing can go wrong, he discovers that he's fallen for the very enemy he's meant to defeat. Memories flood back, and he's torn between the ghost of his dead mate and an endless desire for a forbidden female. No matter how he chooses, there will be betrayal. But who will face the consequences - his new mate or his brothers in the Order?

I actually could not finish this book. If you have read any of my reviews you that I like action & hotness, which this book had some of it, but to me It was almost like reading a B rated replica of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. I tried multiple times to read it, have read other books and gone back to it. At more than halfway through,  I just couldn't get over the fact that is was just too much like BDB. I usually read books even if I don't like them, but I cannot get over something like that. Maybe its just me, because this book has received many great reviews so I hope I don't deter you from reading it, check out what the other reviews say or maybe even read a sample before you buy it.

A creature of the night, Sarafina lives only for pleasure, but love is an emotion she has
deemed forbidden. Experience has taught her that love leads only to betrayal and pain, and she wants no more of pain. She cares for no one, tolerating only the presence of those she can control utterly. With her powers, she is convinced she can break anyone. Willem Stone cannot be broken. He is a challenge Sarafina cannot resist--a man as boldly alive as she is, a man with a will of iron, yet a mere mortal. And the only thing stronger than the clash of their wills is the power of their desire. But when vampire hunters take Amber Lily, the only child ever born to a vampire, Sarafina and Willem must put their struggle aside and combine their strengths in a rescue attempt that could cost them their very lives. And in the process, they find the most powerful force of all: love.

See my goodreads account for reviews of the books earlier in the series.

I've been slowly reading through the Wings in the Night series for a few years now.  They were one of the first paranormal romance series that I had ever read and really opened the door to the genre for me.  Maggie Shayne is a great author and while she fell just a tad short in this one for me I can see how it adds a very imporatant piece to the world she has built.

After the demises of DPI - an organization set on destroying vampires - things seem to be going better.  But there are still a few rogue agents running around and they have set their eyes on Amber Lily - a unique creature introduced earlier in the series that lives between the world of vampire and human.  Willem Stone - a very mortal man - is really all that is there to stop them at first.  He's quite a fantastic hero in several different ways.

Willem Stone has a strange link with a gypsy woman names Sarafina - a name you will recognize if you've read the previous book in the series.  She's quite a bitch through the whole story and I never really like her - which made it hard to enjoy the romance of the book.  I really enjoyed the continued world building and development Shayne brought out in this one though.  It's what has kept me returning to the series over the years.  The world is not stagnant, and even if I don't like all the characters, they all have a role to play that is special and all their own.

Is it possible to reduce the amount of workplace violence in an organization run by vampires and werewolves? Sofia Engle, the new Employee Relations Manager at Cader House Hospital is about to find out, and she may not like the answer, or the series of firsts she experiences: first human employee at Cader House, first day tardy, first kiss with a dead guy. Well, maybe kissing the dead guy wasn't the worst of it after all.

For nearly 600 years Dragomir Petrescu has fought for The Alliance. As one of the most skilled warriors the Alliance has ever seen he's killed a lot of people and won many difficult battles. But his newest human adversary is turning out to be a worthier opponent than any he's met. Just the scent of her disarms him, never mind her endless policies and silly ideals about civility.

Can he possibly keep her safe from Alliance enemies, hospital employees and himself? The term Employee Relations is about to have a whole new meaning.

This is definitely an exciting new series from Jordan K Rose!
First let me start by saying I love this cover, and the model is PERFECT for Dragomir, lol. I really enjoyed this book, as always you know I love me some action on the streets  and the in sheets, lol. Dragomir and Sofia start off a little rough.  Being in the supernatural world is pretty new to Sofia, so when she meets Dragomir and is hit with some unexpected feelings towards him, she reacts the only way she knows how, by turning her feelings around to try to dislike him. Though as we all know, that never works, lol but it always makes for a better "session" when it finally happens. ;)
Sofia is the newly appointed Human Relations Manager at Cader House Hospital, though that position is a little difficult for her to handle, lol.  Dragomir is hired to be Sofia's bodyguard. since the impending war is getting closer and the human casualties are piling up, but that doesn't really make her happy since he is the  least likely person she wanted to guard her. She soon finds out that he is the best person for the job, not only outside of Cader but inside too.
I loved Dragomir, not only for his Alpha role but he is  very honorable and loyal too. Sofia on the other hand sort of gets on my nerves a bit.  Female characters who always have to go through the drama before they finally realize that what other people are doing and saying are not only correct but  for their own benefit, usually annoy me, though it still made for an interesting and entertaining read, lol. Sofia eventually finds her balance in the supernatural world and at Cader House Hospital with her sexy bodyguard. ;)

Black Magic Rose was such a great read, I'm definitely looking forward to reading this series.

Book Spotlight, Giveaway, and Review for: Someone Else's Skye (Men of Brahm Hill, Book One) By: Christine Wenrick

Title: Someone Else's Skye (Men of Brahm Hill, Book One)

Source: Review Request

Genre: Paranormal Romance

Length: 306 pages

Reviewed by: Emi

One night . . . one violent, supernatural battle . . . and five stories of the men whose lives will be changed by it.

Kane, Brethren Guardian and one of the few Natural Shape-Shifters left in existence, survives the bloody battle of Brahm Hill but loses two of his closest friends. For all of his good-natured sarcasm and eye-popping good looks, Kane finds himself unable to completely forget about that night, so he seeks comfort in the one thing he is truly good at . . . sex!

This shape-shifting bad boy believes in having a good time—a very good time, usually involving mingled heavy breathing with a sexy Dhampir in a tiny closet somewhere. But when Kane is sent into the freezing tundra of the Northwest Territories to investigate a troublesome supernatural being reported to be on the loose, he soon crosses paths with a woman who almost instantly drives him insane with desire . . . because she doesn't seem to be falling for his charms.

It’s completely inexplicable.

Skye Matthews has a job to do, and she needs to be focused on that, not spending all her time rebuffing the advances of this way-too-cocky and handsome stranger. Yet, there is something irresistible about this self-involved playboy that she can’t seem to ignore. And when the 'Unidentified' Kane is sent to investigate takes an unnatural interest in Skye, protecting her becomes the Guardian’s top priority.

But . . . can he save Skye from a supernatural being no one has ever encountered before?

My Review:

Someone Else's Skye is the first book in The Men of Brahm Hill series, but it is a follow up series to The Charmed Trilogy, which is another great series. I definitely recommend that you read that first so you can get better acquainted with the characters.  And trust me once you meet Kane, you'll be speed reading to get to his book, lol.  I liked all of the characters in The Charmed Trilogy, but once I was introduced to Kane, I couldn't wait to read his story. I have been looking forward to Someone Else's Skye, and it did NOT disappoint in the least. When I starting reading it, I just assumed it was going to be a good vs evil kind of thing, but I was so wrong. It had me turning the pages quickly to see what was going to happen next.  I was just like, Wow!! What an amazing read!

When Kane and his friend and fellow Guardian Aiden travel to another Brethren Location to help out with a mysterious being, he finds himself distracted by the most beautiful woman he has ever seen. He assumes that while he is working on finding out more about this new paranormal entity he could have some fun with Skye, but he has quite the challenge ahead of him. Skye Matthews recognizes Kane instantly from that night on the  battle field, but says nothing of it, and tries her best to ignore his advances and stay focused on her assignment. Eventually, like all determined men do, he chips away at her resolve and gets a little taste.

Someone Else's Skye was a great read! I cannot wait to see who of The Brahm Hill men is next, though I have a hunch on who it may be.
I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.

**I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review**

Julia Taylor works as a recruitment consultant for Paranormal Personnel in London. Her normal day at the office consists of seeing clients, searching for new vacancies, updating CVs and visiting employers.

It seems as though she has an ordinary life but in reality Julia is half elf and she works for a recruitment agency for paranormals. Day to day Julia attempts to find work for fairies, vampires, witches, hags, wizards, mermaids, elves, giants and trolls.

She is normally calm, confident and is not afraid to stand up for herself, but when the meeting with La Caz Corporation doesn't go as well as she hoped, she wants to bury herself under the ground and die.

Nathaniel La Caz is a player and he wants to seduce Julia. The incredible sexual chemistry that builds up between them complicates her life to the point where she can’t control her magic. La Caz not only wants her but he also has a craving for her blood. Then her ex-boyfriend Jasper comes back on the scene and nearly exposes the whole paranormal world to humans when trying to protect her.

It doesn't end well when vampires and elves mix. The problems start escalating when elves and fairies begin to vanish in London without trace and the police suspect vampires. This can never end well for Julia but she just gets on with her extraordinary job and keeps her abilities under the radar.

I really enjoyed £6.19 per Witching Hour. I thought it was a fun read and at the same time a bit of a thriller. Julia works for a recruitment agency, aligning supernaturals with jobs in their community, and is working on a contract with one of the largest factories. While at the first meeting with LA Caz Corporation she is absolutely flooded with emotions when she meets Nathaniel La Caz, a sexy vampire who she is determined to stay away from since he only wants two things,  sex and to eat her up, lol. While trying to immerse herself in work and distract herself from the ever growing attraction to Nathaniel she is also dealing with a crazy stalker ex boyfriend, and then there is also the dire situation of elves and fairies going missing. Unfortunately Julia finds herself in the middle of it all.
Nathaniel is a sexy character, he's Alpha but some of his tendencies lean more toward controlling. Julia on the other hand is totally independent and buts heads with him quite often. I thoroughly enjoyed the story but was a little disappointed how it ended, but then on the other hand, it makes want to read the next one even more. I have to see what happens between Nathaniel & Julia and also what dangers are still lurking.
I would definitely recommend this series, and I;m looking forward to what happens next.
Hopefully Julia doesn't take it to easy on Nathaniel, lol.

I had the perfect life; an awesome job in advertising, a gorgeous high rise apartment, and a flirtation with the guy down the hall. Then it all came crashing down. Two months later I was a cocktail waitress living in a tiny one bedroom apartment. I had also developed a serious ‘men suck’ attitude.

That all changed the night I met the beautiful and enigmatic Conner Savage. But there was just one little problem…he said he was a vampire. Figures a man that hot would be batshit crazy. Or so I thought. It didn't take me long to realize that Conner wasn't a nut job and that I was addicted to him.

With every moment we spent together he drew me deeper into his world and the supernatural culture in which he lived.
Now I had a choice: the vampire I craved or a normal life. Couldn't be easier, right?

AWESOME!!

It had everything I like, a bit of action, hot sex, vampires and a crazy a** villain. Plus Conner Savage is a Sexy Scottish Vampire! What is there not to love about that?
Donna was a pretty cool character; funny, sarcastic, and independent. Not overly so that she was like a man hater, she was able to accept Conner's generosity and protection  for what it was, love and caring, not something demeaning. Conner was totally delicious and even though his character is over three hundred years old, he knew how to handle a modern woman.
Conner & Donna run in to a bit of trouble with one of Conner’s female vampire friends and while they think it’s about jealousy it turns out that she has bigger plans in motion, which we’ll learn about more in the next installment. And I’m definitely looking forward to it; the little snippet we get of Lex in the Epilogue has me NEEDING to read the next one ASAP. Lol

There is a balance in life most know nothing about. Some are put here to simply exist, while others have been placed here to ensure life. Healers, such as Aldo Lawson understand the power of their gift, although at times, it seems more a curse. Upon meeting a handsome young healer named Thomas, Aldo's life heads into a tailspin. With his arrival, Aldo's aunt, the woman who raised her, is forced to share a hard and scary truth--vampires exist. And not only do they exist, but they thirst for healer blood.

Despite this new and frightening information, Aldo longs for a normal senior year, and she's determined to have it. So close to achieving her goal, her world is turned upside down when her aunt is murdered and Thomas disappears. Riddled with questions, she sets out to find him.
Submerged in a world filled with sex and danger, Aldo hopes to find the vampires that will lead her to Thomas. When they find her first, she is forced to piece together truths, deal with her pain, and finds that not everything is what it seems.

WOW! I absolutely loved this book!! It had an interesting plot, a different spin on vampires, and a Whammy of a twist! I was utterly blindsided by it, I should have seen it coming but I was so engrossed in the story that missed the subtle hints. And that made me love the story even more. We are taken along for a ride with Aldo as she remembers her past and compares it to her present and tries to fix all that she thinks is wrong with her current situation.
When she meets Thomas she is smitten at first sight but he holds himself at arms  length romantically because of their age difference. As time progresses they grow closer to each other but only as friends, then tragedy hits and its time for Aldo and her twin brothers to move on. When she can't move on, she hits the road looking for Thomas but it takes a little longer than expected and what she has feared all of her life, finds her first.
Excellent read!! I can't wait to see what happens next!

Blog Tour Stop and Review: The Demon Mistress By: Jordan K Rose

The Demon Mistress Blog Tour
with Author Jordan K Rose
& The Mistress herself, Eva Prim

I’m absolutely delighted to have the first stop on The Demon Mistress blog tour be Bitten By Paranormal Romance.  Of course, I’d love to be the one to chat, but for this tour I’m stepping back to let the star of The Eva Prim Series take the reigns.
As Eva celebrates the launch of the first book in the Eva Prim Series she’s decided to open her tour with a topic of great importance to her.

Friendship
Thanks, Jordan. I’ll take it from here.
Friendship is not one-sided.
Oh, and I should say, thank you Jordan for your friendship.
Anyway, friendship is not one-sided. And I actually believe even though you may live hundreds or thousands of years you should see your friends more than once a century. You should keep up with each other’s happenings, good and bad.
You should visit.
In the age of computers you could at last Skype.
Vampires, I’m talking to you. You could have friends for eternity. Come out of your caves and visit. Bring a nice box of chocolates and go see your pals. Don’t be such a stiff.
Good friends are so hard to find.
Am I right or am I right?

This is my first blog tour and I just found out there are gifts to be given, well, prizes. Though, today being my birthday I wouldn’t mind a gift in spite of the fact that everyone keeps telling me to knock it off about expecting gifts.
Anyway, today’s prize is an Eva Prim Prize pack, which includes all sorts of stuff I love (because why not?). But that’s just for US residents. If the winner is from outside The States, I’m sending a $10 Amazon Gift Card, which you can use to buy things I love.
Fine, use it to buy things you love, but remember, we are friends and I am giving you a prize. The least you could do is return the favor. It’s just a suggestion.

What’s a girl to do when she discovers her husband, who happens to be the Master Vampire for the New England Region, has been lying to her for, oh, say a hundred and eighty years?

Well, it all depends. If she’s accidentally released forty demons from some creepy old book, unintentionally announced the existence of vampires on The Internet, kidnapped a werewolf, enraged a lovesick vampire by stealing his approved mate, and attracted the attention of The High Commander for The Vampire Federation, not to mention gotten stoned and mastered the forbidden art of demon calling, she might be willing to call it even.

Or, she might plead her case at an Inquisition and hope like all hell, she isn’t staked before sunrise. Eh, a slightly busier night than usual, but nothing Eva Prim can’t handle.

I loved it!! Eva / Chrissie was the funniest female character I've ever read about!! It was like reading a modern day paranormal version of I Love Lucy. It was awesome! Stefan, Eva's sexy Vampire husband, is a little over protective of Eva, so when he is out on business, he leaves her home alone, and locked in. It sounds mean, but he has his reasons, lol. To help with her boredom he buys her a laptop, so she starts a blog, and that is when things get a little crazy. She is also given a gift, a couple of Demon friends, actually some of the ones she let out of the book by mistake. Eva goes on, what she thinks, is a life saving mission of one of her blog friends.  But what she really does is cause havoc in her husband's territory and is the most sought vampire from everyone. lol And the more she tries to help, the deeper she digs her "grave". lol
Demons Mistress was  a great read, it was more like a Paranormal Comedy. Just totally awesome and well deserving of the 5 start rating. I love thrillers, suspenseful, action, and lust filled Paranormal stories, but I also like when someone throws a different spin on things and gives it a fresh look.
I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did. :)
