Revelation “Reve” Dyer grew up with her grandmother’s family stories, stretching back centuries to Reve’s ancestors, who founded the town of Hawley Five Corners, Massachusetts. Their history is steeped in secrets, for few outsiders know that an ancient magic runs in the Dyer women’s blood, and that Reve is a magician whose powers are all too real.

Reve and her husband are world-famous Las Vegas illusionists. They have three lovely young daughters, a beautiful home, and what seems like a charmed life. But Reve’s world is shattered when an intruder alters her trick pistol and she accidentally shoots and kills her beloved husband onstage.

Fearing for her daughters’ lives, Reve flees with them to the place she has always felt safest—an antiquated farmhouse in the forest of Hawley Five Corners, where the magic of her ancestors reigns, and her oldest friend—and first love—is the town’s chief of police. Here, in the forest, with its undeniable air of enchantment, Reve hopes she and her girls will be protected.

Delving into the past for answers, Reve is drawn deeper into her family’s legends. What she discovers is The Hawley Book of the Dead, an ancient leather-bound journal holding mysterious mythic power. As she pieces together the truth behind the book, Reve will have to shield herself and her daughters against an uncertain, increasingly dangerous fate. For soon it becomes clear that the stranger who upended Reve’s life in Las Vegas has followed her to Hawley—and that she has something he desperately wants.

Brimming with rich history, suspense, and magic, The Hawley Book of the Dead is a brilliantly imagined debut novel from a riveting new voice.

The blurbs are correct that if you were a fan of The Discovery of Witches you will really like this book. It also had hints of The Night Circus in it with both Reve and her husband being illusionists.

There's alot of family secrets in the Hawley women history and Reve slowly uncovers these as the race is on the protect her girls from a magical element that has been hunting them for years.

The author did a wonderful job of weaving different elements of the paranormal in without making things seem like they've been done before. Szarlan pieced this together wonderful and I highly recommend it!! I could not wait to talk about it!

Two worlds in danger. A Grand Witch behind bars. A stunning Werewolf and a devilishly handsome Warlock’s pursuit for her affections. You think you have it bad? Grand Witch Anna Wolfe awakens to find herself imprisoned by Micah, the Prince of Darkness. Micah’s on a quest for world domination—and it’s not just the Netherworld that’s in danger. The human world is threatened as well. Now, it’s up to Anna to escape from Micah's clutches so she can locate The Scholars and an ancient book before both fall into the wrong hands. With a fiercely loyal Werewolf and immensely powerful Warlock by her side, what can go wrong? A lot apparently. If fighting off the Prince of Darkness wasn't enough, Anna’s emotions are a whirlwind, as she battles between what fate demands and what she actually wants.
Saved by the Spell is the second book in the Anna Wolfe Series, and is an excellent second installment in the series. It picks up exactly where we left off and is full of action with a pinch of spice. I love all of the characters in this series, even the villain! I will admit that I am torn between  Roman & Valen, i'm hoping that she'll be with both, lol! Who could possibly decide between a sexy wolf or hot warlock?! While trying to save the world from becoming a playground for the Dark Prince & the Underworld, Anna is also trying to perfect her magical skills, and find the scholars who can help prevent Micah from taking over the world.
If you are looking for a fun action packed paranormal read, The Anna Wolf Series, I'll be Damned &  Saved by the Spell is definitely the way to go. I absolutely loved both of them, and highly recommend them!

Torn between her love for Ash and Theo, Leah has to find balance. Held captive by Oscar Locke and locked away with Olivia, Leah struggles to understand who ignites her the most and who drives her powers as an elemental. She wants the fairytale ending, but that’s impossible with two catalysts and one obstacle after another in the way of her happiness.

She’s carrying someone’s child, but whose? Ash or Theo’s? As Leah gets closer to Olivia, she learns the truth about her pregnancy and her future. But will it save her from Oscar Locke who is intent to destroy Leah and those who love her for his revenge? If they can escape captivity, can the tangled bond between Leah, Olivia, Ash, and Theo be unraveled?

As Leah’s story comes to a close, find out the fate of these four Crafters as they try and find peace in Blackwater.
The Air That I Breathe is the third installment in the Blackwater series and is another great read. While Ash, Leah, Theo and Olivia are being held captive they find out some crazy truths about whats in their future and some of their parents past.  Oscar Locke is one crazy dude, talk about holding a grudge, lol. He's been trying to dismantle the Blackwater Coven for a long time and has tried his best to destroy some of the families, especially the Lavannes.
The Blackwater series was like reading a soap opera, so much going on with crazy twists and turns but always coming back to read what was going to happen next. I truly recommend it. It has some events in it that I personally find a bit weird but, it never really ruined the story.
Happy reading!

Leah struggles with her emotions as her heart is torn in half by the two men who ignite her. As she battles her feelings for Theo and Ash, she searches for her father who may hold the answers to the history of the Coven.

Eleanor and Drew search for their kidnapped son in the heart of the Louisiana wilderness, while uncovering some family connections between Eleanor and Gabriel Locke.

Erika tries to cover her tracks after Ash reaches out to her for assistance. She is still heartbroken but her journey reveals that perhaps she doesn’t have to be for very long.

Olivia discovers there is a world waiting for her outside of Blackwater, and breaks out of her protective barrier to uncover it.

Follow the four women who were introduced in Book One of the Blackwater Saga, as they craft their way through the dangers that go hand in hand with being a part of the Coven.
Another Great read in the Blackwater Series! A few different scenarios going on but it doesn't get too crazy or overwhelming.  Leah travels to France to find her father and repair things with Ash, her friends and family are also going through their own dilemmas back in Blackwater. We also get a few more details about some of the other Lavanne family members as well.
I'm glad that Olivia gets out of Normandy and is able to get some real life experience, though it turns out she has to go to France as well to save Theo, Leah, and Ash.
I enjoyed Drowning in a Dream as much as Burning For You, its just as fast paced and filled with some crazy drama, lol. It did get a bit weird again with the whole Olivia and Theo relationship, it's never really spelled out what happens but just the mention of an incestuous relationship kind of creeps me out.
But don't let that deter from the series, other than the Lavanne family drama lol,  its a great read.

When Leah Holt returns to Blackwater, she crashes into Ash Lavanne. He is her catalyst, a fire elemental from a strange family of crafters who control the Blackwater Coven. Leah is ignited by Ash. She can build, destroy, create and damage, making her one of the most dangerous crafters in existence.

Blackwater is a town with a dark past. Four hundred years ago, the witch trials that happened have left a deep impression on today’s inhabitants, splitting the town into two rival groups – the Coven and the Order.

Then Leah discovers that Ash isn’t the only one who ignites her. She is torn in half in a love triangle and learns just how powerful she has the potential to become, but could lose Ash if she dares to find out.
I thought this was a great read! Very fast paced and exciting. Leah comes back to town after moving away when she was eighteen, she's actually running back to her hometown and away from her crazy ex husband. When she returns she finds out that her ancestors weren't the only witches in her family, that not only she is, but most of her family and her hometown are too. While discovering  all of this her she literally  runs into her Catalyst while also  trying to  run her ex husband out of town before he can hurt her again.
Leah is a pretty cool character, she deals with an immense overload of information and her onset of powers pretty well. She isn't a typical crybaby who has to go through a boat load of crap before she comes to her senses, lol.  Ash is total Alpha, once he finds Leah as his catalyst he does everything he can to make her happy and keep her safe. After things hit a normal pace, they are totally thrown through a loop when Leah finds another catalyst. Once the duo becomes a trio, things get a little weird because part of the trio also has another catalyst, which happens to be his twin sister. There is an awkward steamy scene in the ballroom, at least I felt a little awkward reading it because I thought it was totally weird, since three out of the four people involved are related. Other than that little weird tidbit I thought it was a great read, and am looking forward to see what happens next.

Review: Winter Eve #.5 & A Tiger's Claim #1 in the Ashwood Falls Series By: Lia Davis

Title: Winter Eve (Ashwood Falls #.5)
Author: Lia Davis
Source: Review Request
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Reviewer: Emi

**I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review**

There comes a time when setting your differences aside isn't just necessary, it’s a means of survival. After losing over half of their dens to a group rogue shifters, the wolves and leopards merged as one Pack, but living together is much more of a challenge then they expected.

Danica Welsh was born to be the leopard pack healer. An accident involving a drug induced youth left her badly burned and scared—emotionally and physically. Without the ability to heal by touch, she secludes herself to the edge of town, away from Ashwood Falls’ overly concerned citizens. All hope of mating and family become a distant dream. When she finally starts to accepts the long, lonely existence ahead of her, a stranger crashes into her life, and her heart.

After Nevan Mathews’ fiancé died three ago, he submerged himself into his work, cutting off all reminders of a life he dreamed of with the woman he loved. He lets his step-mother talk him into taking the first vacation in five years to visit for the holidays. But an accident delays his travel plans, sending him to Danica’s doorstep and raises a need he thought he would never feel again.
Can they tear down the walls around their hearts and submit to the passion before another claims Dani for his own?

Warning: Contains a shifter who's scars run deeper than skin, a human who has the heart of a shifter, and a snow storm that's sure to have them both reaching for warmth.

Winter Eve is a great introduction to the series. It gives us a bit of background about the pack and also a love story between a leopard shifter and a human. Dani lives on the outskirts of where the pack resides in Ashwood Falls. She was tired of all of the pity she received from everyone because of her scars, so she moved to live in peace and quiet. Though she was still close enough o the pack. While she is out for a run, she runs in front of car and causes the driver veer off road and crash. Luckily he's ok but now the storm is coming and he needs a place to stay.
Nevan is on his way to visit his family but when he crashes his car,  his original plans are put on hold. But it turns out he's quite ok with that since he can spend some time with the sexy woman who owns the cabin.

Very cool and sexy story!

Title: A Tiger's Claim (Ashwood Falls #1)
Author: Lia Davis

As the Alpha’s only daughter Shayna Andrews has always been treated like a rare gem, protected like royalty, and she’s suffocating. Her longing to be independent has driven her to sneak out one evening after dinner. After relishing in being able to run free without an escort, she finds herself face-to-face with the enemy, miles from home, and nearly loses her life until a lone wolf comes to her aid.

Travis Hunter’s main objective is to destroy the Onyx Pack—a group of drug using, murdering rogue shifters. His seek-and-destroy plans are put on hold when he rescues a female from a brutal attack. The beautifully exotic tiger shifter, Shayna, stirs a passion he thought died with his long-lost mate.

When Shay’s first heat cycle slams into her, Travis has no choice but to submit to her needs—and his own. But there is always a price to sleeping with the Pack princess. Not only will he have to face her Pack, Shay and Travis will now have to deal with that fact that their mating is beyond a simple night and could have consequences more than either of them had thought. And when Travis finds out Shay wears the enemy’s brand, things will go from bad to worse.

Warning: One alpha female who doesn't take no for an answer, a wolf with more on the line than just his heart, and a combustible attraction that's sure to cause more than one sweaty night.

Great story! Lots of action, some hot shifter sex, and a little deceit, definitely makes for an enjoyable read!
Shayna runs off to blow off some steam after she argues, once again, with her over protective father. She doesn't realize how far out she is until she feels danger lurking and she has no way of linking with her family. While she is fighting to free herself from the crazy half man/ half wolf mutants, Travis arrives to give a helping hand/ paw, lol.
After the attack she starts to also realize that her family is over protective for good reason. The Onyx pack is looking for her, and she is still in danger every additional second she is away from her pack.
Back at Travis's cabin as they are both healing, her first heat cycle kicks in, and  the sexy wolf who rescued her is more than happy to help her out.
I absolutely love Alphas!! Vampire, Wolf, jaguar, or even bear, it doesn't matter, lol. There is just something so freaking sexy about them. And there are plenty of Alphas in the Ashwood Falls series. I'm so looking forward to reading the next one.

Samantha digs a little deeper to find out about her witchy past. What she discovers sends her world and her magic into overdrive. She discovers secret realms and begins to uncover a truth she always somewhat anticipated. While she is half Bruxa--a light witch, something more sinister may lay claim to her other half.

After the stone curse wears off and Jade returns to Cadiza to assert her rule and Blythe, the dark magic ruler makes a plea for her help, Samantha is forced to choose a side. Should she embrace the known? A life that she's loved and revered since birth. Or does she stay true to her tenacious vendetta against the Elders council for their tyrannical ways?

Swaying her decision is her omnipresent match, Xander and the very human love of her life, Malakai. With both men still vying for her affections, Samantha has bold decisions to make. She has to make them quickly as time is running out. The threat of war between light and dark witches is scary, but the fact that magic is bleeding into the human world is disastrous. Will Samantha be swayed by her heart or her head?

First let me start by saying that if you haven't read the first book in the series Escaped, you should definitely check it out. Here is a link to Amazon. It was a great start to the series. And I will try not to put any spoilers in my review for Embraced. ;)
Samantha is trying to find some peace and quiet in her new life after the whole mess that happened in Cadiza. While she knew it would be short lived she still did the best she could do with Malakai. They had everything planned out and were going to get ahead of the Patrol. Malakai leaves Samantha to go do some investigating and while he is gone she takes a trip to the Dark Realm and can't believe what she sees. She's been lied to her entire life, what she thought she knew, no longer mattered. When she returns to Cadiza to confront Jade, she's thrown threw another loop, she finds it in total disarray and in the middle of a rebellion.
Samantha is torn between Light & Dark and needs to make a decision, but who can she trust?

Embraced was a great read! At first it was a little slow, but then once the ball starts rolling, I quickly found myself at the end with a big OMG! What a cliffhanger, I literally screamed NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, my daughter thought I was having a melt down lol. Book 3 cannot come fast enough, lol.

First in a breathtaking trilogy, the fierce and seductive Gregore Trenowyth-one of three men cursed by Gypsy magic-is driven by desire for the one woman who could be his salvation, but who he dare not let himself love...
Once falsely accused of his lover's murder, Gregore knows when he is going to die, and he has spent decades searching for a way to break the curse that hardens his body to stone. When a painful twist of fate lands the counter-curse in his hands then snatches it away just days before he turns to stone forever, Gregore's desperation reaches new found heights. He'll do anything to live-even if it means kidnapping the one woman who could steal his heart.
Although she comes from a long lineage of powerful women, Detective Tara O'Reilly is wonderfully content with her normal life. The remnants of her Gypsy heritage and magic are firmly locked away where they can't hurt anyone. However, when a creature straight out of legend kidnaps her and asks for her help, she'll have to choose between walking away from a man who stirs her soul and embracing a magic that could kill everyone she loves.
An exciting and dark new paranormal romance novel, Set in Stone explores the themes of redemption and righting past wrongs, all while showing readers that true love can conquer all. Blending romance with a bit of fantasy, this is a perfect story for anyone who wants a taste of magic and the unknown in their romance novels.

Set in Stone is a great start to this series. Gypsy magic and curses have always intrigued me so I was definitely excited to read about it, and it did not disappoint in the least. Gregore, and his two best friends,  were wrongfully cursed for the death of his beloved Zola by her crazy grandmother. After a century and a half of searching for any connection to the gypsy and a way to break his curse, it is mercilessly torn from him.  And the only way he can get it back is with the help of the beautiful Detective O'Reily, which coincidentally is also the target of the crazy wizard who stole the spell book in the first place.  Gregore carries the guilt of  not only of his curse, but his two best friends, who just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. Tara is kind of in a similar of state of mind, she has carried around  her own guilt about an incident in her past as well. Since fate has brought them together, they both work on their issues, even though trust doesn't come easily to either of them. As time runs out, they find that trust and fall for one another, but do they make it in time?
I really enjoyed this book, it was an amazing story about righting wrongs and forgiveness as well as a fast paced thriller with action and mystery. The only thing that threw me off a bit was that we didn't find out about the crazy wizard's reason for his vendetta until the end, so it kind of had me wondering the whole time. But I guess that is the whole point to the crazy character, keep me guessing the whole time, lol.
Great read and I am definitely looking forward to Thomas and Jeffery.

R&B sensation, Sharayna “Rayne” Piers, lives her life dedicated to her music. On stage and in the studio, she pours her heart and soul into the lyrics of her songs, hoping to deliver a piece of herself to the listeners. But ever since her twentieth birthday, her seemingly normal life has taken a turn to the dark side.

Piercing screams and horrendous acts of murder seizes her mind, haunting her night and day. Women similar to her in age are vanishing all over the world without a trace. It leaves Rayne wondering if the rash of disappearances is connected to her visions.

Soon, she will discover the world she was raised in is just a cover for what really hides in the shadows, and that her life as a human is a deception to mankind, a guise to conceal her true nature. Will she shun the darkness that has befallen her or step up to the throne and become what she was created to be?

Wow! I don't even know where to start. If I could have devoured this book in less time then I already did, I would have. Rayne is a R&B star with a destiny that she is not even aware of herself. Since she has turned twenty years old, odd things have been happening that have been messing with her mind. She thinks she is going crazy, and unfortunately her guardians cannot tell her anything until she is ready. She must figure out what she can on her own, but she does find some help with the mysterious man of her dreams. Demetri is a Xsonri and her destined mate, their souls call to each other and when they finally meet, I think saying sparks fly totally down plays their encounter, it's freaking amazing. Demetri helps Rayne as best he can without traumatizing her with all of it at once, but she must learn quick before war erupts.

I absolutely loved Silent Screams, the story line was  intriguing to say the least, and the characters are awesome. I'm a little torn on which one I like best between Demetri and his brother Maurisio, but almost every single male character is sexy as hell and absolutely delicious. This is the first book that I've read with an interracial couple, and it was so damn sexy! It was an amazing read and I found myself at the end way too quickly. The author has done her job well when you reach the end and you say to yourself WHYYYYYYYYYYY  oh WHYYYYYYYY is it over?!!!!!!! I need more and I need it now!! I am so looking forward to the next installment in this series!! I cannot wait!!
If you like stories with sexy vampires, shifters, witches with an apocalyptic theme, then you will love Silent Screams!

Ailis has spent her life pretending she didn't have powers and that things did not go bump in the night. Ailis is now a homicide detective. She is very good at her job and she's pretty sure the serial murders her unit is investigating aren't being committed by a human. In walks the most gorgeous man she's ever seen. What’s wrong with that? Ailis not only knows he's a vampire. she also knows he's the one draining child molesters and murderers and leaving an empty carcass for her to find. Her investigation unearths secrets about her ancestors that take her back to Camelot and the time of King Arthur and Merlin so she can right a wrong committed by her family hundreds of years ago. Can she trust this strange, lonely vampire to help her solve a mystery that could very well end up with her being life challenged herself?

Dangerously attractive vampire, Kenneth has been around long enough to know there are no such things as coincidences. When he meets the undeniably strong willed homicide detective Ailis, he knows there's a good explanation as to why she looks identical to his long dead fiance. He just has to figure out what that might be. When his one hundred year nemesis shows up in Miami and tries to force Ailis to join him, Kenneth realizes her powers are worth something to even the worst of his kind. He pledges to protect her as long as he is still breathing. If those trying to keep her from fulfilling her destiny have anything to do about it, that won’t be long at all.

So, how do I start? Well, I liked the story, I thought it was a good read, the plot was pretty interesting and there was some action in it.  At times I felt like it was just a bit all over the place. It took me a while to read this book, I can normally finish in a day or two, but this one took me almost two weeks.  It's because the first half is really unnecessary. It starts out as a murder mystery with cops and a vamp but then turns into something different (which is the better part of the book). It doesn't really give you a enough background of the characters and story, we don't find out everything until halfway into the book. Once I got there I finished it in no time. I feel as though as a first book in a series it should have been laid out better and more detailed in the beginning. We're introduced to Kenneth, who is a total arrogant a** .  Ailis is pretty cool, she is a detective who knows she's a little more than the average human, but is introduced to a whole new world once she truly acknowledges that she is different and goes back to her roots.

Like I said, the story is pretty good, and I'd like to read the next book so I can see how the legacies continue.

About the book:

How does a witch stay safe if a killer can get through her protection spells?

Witches like Ruby and Courtney can take care of themselves. So when Courtney is murdered, Ruby’s world crashes to a halt. The only thing keeping her grounded is the return of Courtney’s brother, Cooper. He seeks revenge, but Ruby wants to help other witches stay alive. To do that, she’ll have to reunite with her old coven’s High Priest, who also happens to be her cheating ex-boyfriend.

If that wasn't awkward enough, when the killer gets too close, Cooper temporarily moves into Ruby’s place while a police officer tails her every move. Cooper’s presence distracts Ruby as they fight their desire against their need to stay safe. Then Courtney begins to haunt Ruby’s dreams and secrets are spilled, things from Cooper’s past that could get them both killed. The killer continues to stalk Ruby and the more she discovers, the more she fears she won’t be able to keep her heart in her chest.

Ruby's best friend was murdered, but not by your average psycho, but someone who is targeting witches. She finds out that the killer is also taking their hearts so he can perform a ritual to become more powerful, they have to stop him before he has everything he needs.  When her best friend's brother comes back in town, to get revenge for what happened to his sister, all of the feelings that they always had for each other but kept hidden, come to the surface. As they work together, along with her ex Michael and his coven, they start to develop their relationship as well. Though Michael is definitely not happy about that. As Ruby & Cooper start to dig deeper into the murders, Courtney starts to haunt her dreams to help her along, and the killer starts to taunt her as well.
Loved it! Witch Hearts is more like a Paranormal Romance murder mystery or thriller. It was like watching a tv show, I was trying to guess who the killer was the whole time, lol. Every time I thought I had the murdered pegged, someone else would stir my suspicion. It was a page turner and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.

Anna Greer is a quiet microbiologist with her feet planted firmly in reality. Her life gets turned upside down when she finally meets her elusive employer, Gareth Macgregor. Gareth is mysterious, sexy, powerful…and a vampire.

Soon she's drawn into a world she only thought was mythical, creatures and beings that existed only in nightmares that turn out to be very real.

Anna and Gareth are drawn together in a fight for their lives and Anna finds that there is a part of her that has lain dormant since her childhood, a power that could save them, or mark them for death.

Gareth’s powerful enemy would stop them from finding what Gareth has been trying to find for centuries—a cure for vampirism and a love that transcends time.

I thought Eternity was a great read! If I could have skipped out on some sleep to finish it, I would have.
Anna is a microbiologist trying to find a cure or at least a breakthrough for the disease XP, which is what her mother died from. Coincidentally it is the same disease that her employer suffers from and is secretly working on but for different reasons, he’s a vampire. When Anna meets Gareth she is drawn to him in ways she can’t even believe or explain to herself. While trying to figure out what’s going on with the whole infatuation with Gareth, she finds herself being stalked by someone else too. And as she was working late one evening, her lab is broken into and she is attacked. The sense of being watched and of odd things going on around her and Gareth’s mysteriousness,  bring her back to her childhood when she would “see” things and her mother would chalk it up to an overactive imagination. But now that she is older she’s not quite sure if she can do the blame game anymore, so she does some research. Here is where we are introduced to Teagan & Harley, I love these ladies, they confirm Anna’s suspicion about Gareth and let her know what she truly is and help her grow her powers a bit. Anna is thrown into a world she never thought existed or at least hoped it didn't  and on top of that she’s in the middle of a feud between Vampire and maker. With all of the attacks and Anna’s lack of control for her new found power, Gareth enlists the help of an old friend, Noah. They all work together, though begrudgingly for some of them, to help Anna and beat Gareth’s evil maker.

I loved all of the characters in Eternity, even the enemies. It was a great read and I am definitely looking forward to reading the next one.

What chances could you take to keep your true love with you forever?

Would you go against the rules of society, your family and risk everything you have ever known?

Would you go to any length to save the one you love, even if what must be done could possibly cause their death?

The Willows is a resort town run by vampires, werewolves and witches. Here, their true identities are kept secret from humans, and intimate relations between the individual clans are strictly forbidden.

When it becomes known that the vampire Amberlyn has fallen in love with the werewolf Kane, the tedious line of their co-existence has been crossed. Caught in the crossfire of this revelation, Drake, the vampire clan leader and Amberlyn’s maker, is killed along with an innocent witch. These deaths spark a series of horrific events leading to an all out War In The Willows.

Unexpected close encounters, bodies ripe with need, and situations beyond their control lead to forbidden relationships. Now three vampires, a witch, a werewolf and a human must ride along the edges of the rules. They will attempt once unthinkable romantic entanglements despite all those who oppose their relationships, while fighting for their lives as well.

With the Willows full of violence and bloodshed, meetings and magic amiss, will the clans ever be able to find peace among them again? Or, will this war destroy the Willows?

In Book 1, Amberlyn’s vampire brother, Isaac, always one to kick ass first and deal with the consequences later, kidnaps a witch, Winter. He intends to find out what type of retaliation the witch clan is planning against the vampires and werewolves. In doing so, he finds so much more then he bargained for.

By Book 2, Isaac and Winter devise a plan to try to get the Elders of the clans talking peacefully. But, things don’t go as they’d hoped, and the fighting between the clans becomes more devious – deadly. Now, Devin, another vampire of Drake’s making, steps in to help pick up some of the pieces.

When Book 3 begins, it is Devin who hides the biggest secret; he’s in love with a local human. In a moment of desperation – of love – Devin sweeps this human, Sara, away to his home in order to keep her out of harm’s way.

*Sighs* Forbidden love, is there anything more romantic than that?!
I think this is the most romantic novel I've ever read.
So obviously I have a very weird view of romance since this trilogy is full of action and crazy witches and other supes who love to stir the crazy pot, but the love between the main characters in each story is amazing! True love cannot and should not be stopped because of physical differences between two people. This trilogy hits home in quite a few ways. For people like me who are in interracial relationships and for people of the same sex, we all struggle with this kind of judgment and prejudices. It just made me love the book even more. It has a very interesting plot and is full of action, and the steamy parts are very nice ;).  The first story is with Isaac & Winter and where the plot is introduced.  His sister Amberlyn, who is a vampire, falls in love with a werewolf, we normally see this in other novels, but here in the Willows it is strictly forbidden. The Willows is a resort town where plenty of humans come and go and the ones that live there are kept in the dark of the true identities of the supernturals. And a place where Vampires, Werewolves, and Witches coexist with a truce of sorts, but are strictly forbidden to engage in, and have relationships with each other. Isaac is on his way back to the Willows because he receives word from his Vampire Grandfather that his maker Drake has been murdered. Once there, he plans to get all of the information he needs by any means necessary, and this is how he encounters Winter. While trying to find out what has happened and what the other clans have planned, he starts to develop feelings for her. But because a love between a Vampire and a witch is not only, not allowed it would also bring more trouble to the impending war between the clans, so he tries to ignore his feelings. While trying to figure out how to go about this relationship with each other, violence starts to break out in the Willows. Isaac & Winter along with the help of Amberlyn, Kane and their grandparents, work together to  try to prevent the situation from escalating in front of humans.  But he can no longer deny his love for Winter, so he finally gives into it and tries to figure out a way to work thru this hard time in the Willows. The second installment is the story of Amberlyn and Kane. Here we find out how they started and what happened when they came out into the open. Isaac & Winter try to find a peaceful way to bring the clans together and have a meeting of the leaders and Elders to defuse the situation and compromise on new laws for the clans, so they enlist the attendance of Kane & Amberlyn. But things get out of control once the witches start scheming again. We’re also introduced to Devin in this installment, another vampire sibling of Isaac and Amberlyn. The third installment is about Devin & Sara, he is a vampire but his love interest is actually worse than Amberlyn and Isaac, he’s in love with a human. I have to say that I loved all three of these stories but Devin’s is my favorite. I almost teared up with this one.  They spend a night together and they both feel the same way about each other. It just tore me up to read how much they wanted and loved each other but couldn't be together, that they were saying goodbye even though they didn't want to. The fighting between the clans continues but it seems to be escalating to the point of no return. This group of crazy witches has really done a number on the town, the clans, and even the innocent bystanders. But will the town survive?
I thoroughly enjoyed this trilogy, and definitely recommend it!
