Ryder is a fake- and he knows it. He spends his days pretending to be a paranormal investigator and his nights entertaining groups of believers with his claims of communicating with the dead. Life is good and business is booming until the night a beautiful woman storms out of his seminar and a mysterious man drops an unexplainable case in his lap. Ryder finds out the world he thought was fake is actually real and even worse, he has become the paranormal world's most wanted.

Jessa wants answers and the human, Ryder, is the only one who can give them to her. She has one goal, keep him alive long enough to figure our why he has been haunting her dreams. The only problem is the more time she spends with him the more she realizes the answers she seeks are ones she isn't ready to face.

Can either one of them accept what fate has laid out for them? Or will they fight their destiny at the cost of everyone they hold dear?

**I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review**

I thought this was a great read, fun and exciting and a little different than the average paranormal. While Ryder pretends to be a paranormal investigator, he unknowingly upsets the supernatural world, making him their number one target. Jessa needs some answers for her dilemma but Ryder thinks she's a little crazy and has a hard time believing what's going on. I guess it would be a bit weird to have someone knock on your door and shatter your perception of reality as you know it, but then again it would be totally awesome to go on an adventure, lol. Which as it turns out, Jessa and Ryder go on quite the investigative journey and find out truths long buried and what has been really going on in both worlds.
If you're looking for a good fun read, or just something a little different, I definitely recommend this book. I am looking forward to reading the next one.

One night . . . one violent, supernatural battle . . . and five stories of the men whose lives will be changed by it.

Alec Lambert was born to lead. He’s a ruling Elder of The Brethren, possessing steely confidence, natural smarts, and decisive problem solving abilities . . . and he’s not too bad on the eyes, either. Everything in his life has gone exactly according to plan—until the night of Brahm Hill. Alec loses his best friend at the hands of the uncle he trusted like a father, along with his previously unshakable faith to lead those with whom he’s charged. Despite this, he continues to press ahead, and for his next assignment he’s asked to protect a very beautiful but very clumsy Dhampir who’s being hunted by a powerful warlock. Suddenly, he finds his whole Brethren world is turned upside down . . . and he finds himself harboring a desire for her he can’t explain.

Poppy Honeywell knows she’s far from perfect. Bad things tend to happen when she’s around. She’s more than a little clumsy, with a phobia or two mixed in. Not to mention that her name is certainly unusual. But she doesn’t have time to worry about all that because she’s on the run and not about to back down from the arrogant Elder who’s just been assigned as her protector. The real problem, though . . . she’s irresistibly drawn to this man who faces constant danger and takes charge so naturally. But Poppy also sees that taking charge of others helps Alec mask his own very deep pain.

Will Alec find his way out of the darkness and surrender to his feelings for Poppy before the warlock chasing her catches up to them both?

**I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review**

So, where to start. I have been following Christine's work since the beginning, and I have loved every minute of it. The Charmed trilogy was awesome and The Men of Brahm Hill is even better. Guarding Poppy is the second book in the series and I LOVE it. If I wasn't reading the book, I was definitely thinking about it. Thinking about what was going to happen next and how Alec & Poppy were connecting. Not only was this book a page turner, but there was more to it than that, it was like I went through the same emotions as Alec & Poppy. I haven't emotionally connected to a book in quite a while, and Alec and Poppy's story was something I think we can all relate to. Take out the paranormal aspect and its about two people who have gone though some very tough times in their life and find it hard to believe they can ever be happy. Alec has gone through so much since the beginning I couldn't wait for him to finally get everything he deserved. Going forward, I am sooooo looking forward to the next installment in the series. I hope you all enjoy these series as much as I have.
Please see the kinks below for both.

Two worlds in danger. A Grand Witch behind bars. A stunning Werewolf and a devilishly handsome Warlock’s pursuit for her affections. You think you have it bad? Grand Witch Anna Wolfe awakens to find herself imprisoned by Micah, the Prince of Darkness. Micah’s on a quest for world domination—and it’s not just the Netherworld that’s in danger. The human world is threatened as well. Now, it’s up to Anna to escape from Micah's clutches so she can locate The Scholars and an ancient book before both fall into the wrong hands. With a fiercely loyal Werewolf and immensely powerful Warlock by her side, what can go wrong? A lot apparently. If fighting off the Prince of Darkness wasn't enough, Anna’s emotions are a whirlwind, as she battles between what fate demands and what she actually wants.
Saved by the Spell is the second book in the Anna Wolfe Series, and is an excellent second installment in the series. It picks up exactly where we left off and is full of action with a pinch of spice. I love all of the characters in this series, even the villain! I will admit that I am torn between  Roman & Valen, i'm hoping that she'll be with both, lol! Who could possibly decide between a sexy wolf or hot warlock?! While trying to save the world from becoming a playground for the Dark Prince & the Underworld, Anna is also trying to perfect her magical skills, and find the scholars who can help prevent Micah from taking over the world.
If you are looking for a fun action packed paranormal read, The Anna Wolf Series, I'll be Damned &  Saved by the Spell is definitely the way to go. I absolutely loved both of them, and highly recommend them!

Memories flood back, and he's torn between the ghost of his dead mate and an endless desire for a forbidden female. No matter how he chooses, there will be betrayal. But who will face the consequences - his new mate or his brothers in the Order?

I actually could not finish this book. If you have read any of my reviews you that I like action & hotness, which this book had some of it, but to me It was almost like reading a B rated replica of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. I tried multiple times to read it, have read other books and gone back to it. At more than halfway through,  I just couldn't get over the fact that is was just too much like BDB. I usually read books even if I don't like them, but I cannot get over something like that. Maybe its just me, because this book has received many great reviews so I hope I don't deter you from reading it, check out what the other reviews say or maybe even read a sample before you buy it.

When Vivian arrives in the small town of Tofino for her best friend’s wedding, her own love life is the last thing on her mind. The winds of fate are changing, and soon she finds herself falling for the sinfully sexy owners of Breakers, the local bar. Tucker and Byron are selkies, seal shapeshifters from the colony of Kismet Cove. Bound together by blood, the two of them are destined to share a mate. They’ve just about given up hope of finding her when Vivian turns their world and their hearts upside down. Before long dark secrets, old wounds, and new enemies conspire against the three lovers. They’ll have to fight to stay together, defying family and tradition along the way. When trust is broken and forces conspire against them, can their love weather the storm?

I have read many of Susan Hayes's books, and they are always a great read. Windswept, the second book in the Kismet Cover series, is another great addition in the world of Susan Hayes. I always enjoy books that have a little bit of everything, action, drama, and hotness. I was totally looking forward to Byron & Tucker's story and it did not disappoint. As we continue into the world of Selkie shifters on Kismet Cove, we get to know Vivian, Tucker,  & Byron a little better, who all made appearances Riptide. While Vivian is on vacation trying to get away from her everyday stress and see her BFF,  she was not expecting to fall in love, especially with two gorgeous men. Tucker & Byron are two selkies who follow their own rules, they still haven't found their mate, and they definitely were not expecting to find one anytime soon, until Vivian.

I thought Windswept was a great read, I definitely recommend this series. And honestly,  I totally recommend all of Susan Hayes books.

Gerard Leon and Linda Coriola fight for the same cause. The French doctor and the Italian sculptress donate their time and money for HOPE – a clinic for children’s cancer research and treatment.
Here they meet and the magnetic attraction between them - combined with some haunting demons from her past – turns into a complicated, intense love story.
In search of a cure for cancer and armed with an innovative treatment themselves, they leave for Transylvania, that enigmatic land hidden in the heart of the Carpathians.
There they get lost and have a bizarre experience in the Hoia-Baciu forest, nicknamed The Romanian Bermuda Triangle due to all the inexplicable paranormal phenomena happening in its depths.
But no one believes them, because they don’t have any proof of said experience. Or do they?

Melinda De Ross is becoming one of my favorites. I love the way she writes, its so elegant and flows beautifully off the pages when I'm reading it, and I can totally picture everything she is writing. Like her first novel that I read Rendezvous with Hymera (you can find my review here).  Gerard & Linda are a human couple who go through a paranormal experience. Which I think is an excellent concept, its something we can imagine really happening, especially when it comes to ghosts or anything like that.
Gerard & Linda meet at the clinic where he treats  cancer patients who are children, he's also discovered a treatment for a form of skin cancer and is still researching to find a cure. Linda is a sculptor who has recently moved to London, though she would always visit the center prior to her move, she's getting over a difficult divorce and doesn't give in too easily to the doctor.
While still in the beginning if their relationship, they travel to Romania so Gerard can confer notes with another Doctor who is doing the same research. In their travels they get lost and come across a creepy forest and have a very strange experience with a woman, which can potentially change their view of paranormal phenomena.
I thought this was an excellent read. This is probably going to sound creepy lol, but I feel like I connected with the author and the story . I'm not sure if its because of the Italian characters and references or her style of writing, but  I felt like I was home. When she describes Romania I felt like I was back in my little town near Naples going shopping with my mom or aunt, lol. And when she mentions the song Strani Amori by Laura Pausini, I definitely had some memories of my time in Italy, lol.
So I finish with this question; Has this ever happened to you, as you were reading the book it was like you connected with the author as well as the story?

Is it possible to reduce the amount of workplace violence in an organization run by vampires and werewolves? Sofia Engle, the new Employee Relations Manager at Cader House Hospital is about to find out, and she may not like the answer, or the series of firsts she experiences: first human employee at Cader House, first day tardy, first kiss with a dead guy. Well, maybe kissing the dead guy wasn't the worst of it after all.

For nearly 600 years Dragomir Petrescu has fought for The Alliance. As one of the most skilled warriors the Alliance has ever seen he's killed a lot of people and won many difficult battles. But his newest human adversary is turning out to be a worthier opponent than any he's met. Just the scent of her disarms him, never mind her endless policies and silly ideals about civility.

Can he possibly keep her safe from Alliance enemies, hospital employees and himself? The term Employee Relations is about to have a whole new meaning.

This is definitely an exciting new series from Jordan K Rose!
First let me start by saying I love this cover, and the model is PERFECT for Dragomir, lol. I really enjoyed this book, as always you know I love me some action on the streets  and the in sheets, lol. Dragomir and Sofia start off a little rough.  Being in the supernatural world is pretty new to Sofia, so when she meets Dragomir and is hit with some unexpected feelings towards him, she reacts the only way she knows how, by turning her feelings around to try to dislike him. Though as we all know, that never works, lol but it always makes for a better "session" when it finally happens. ;)
Sofia is the newly appointed Human Relations Manager at Cader House Hospital, though that position is a little difficult for her to handle, lol.  Dragomir is hired to be Sofia's bodyguard. since the impending war is getting closer and the human casualties are piling up, but that doesn't really make her happy since he is the  least likely person she wanted to guard her. She soon finds out that he is the best person for the job, not only outside of Cader but inside too.
I loved Dragomir, not only for his Alpha role but he is  very honorable and loyal too. Sofia on the other hand sort of gets on my nerves a bit.  Female characters who always have to go through the drama before they finally realize that what other people are doing and saying are not only correct but  for their own benefit, usually annoy me, though it still made for an interesting and entertaining read, lol. Sofia eventually finds her balance in the supernatural world and at Cader House Hospital with her sexy bodyguard. ;)

Black Magic Rose was such a great read, I'm definitely looking forward to reading this series.

Fairfield Detective Alexis (Alex) Martinez is in pursuit of a killer so brutal, he holds an entire city in the grip of terror. His victims are picked at random; their torture and mutilation, unspeakable. As the body count rises, Alex's investigation puts her among the hunted-not by the serial, but by a much greater threat: a secret society with members embedded inside world governments, law enforcement and every walk of life. Their prime objective is to avert discovery, and when her investigation comes too close to revealing their existence, Alex becomes a target. The only one that can save her is the trained assassin they've sent to kill her; someone who has already infiltrated her heart and mind, and who may be the monster she's been chasing all along.

David Jason Sawyer is a predator with the face of an angel, his mind a weapon as equally formidable as his body, prince of a powerful hidden society believed to represent the next step in man's evolution: Family. Their physiology has evolved to consume bio-energy directly. They're stronger. They age at an incredibly decelerated rate. With their extraordinary ability to heal, they're close to invincible. And they feed on humans to survive.

Since childhood, Sawyer has been trained to manipulate and entrap on reflex, to put emotion second and Family first; yet one moment of weakness, sparing the very detective that hunts him, the woman he has grown to love, makes him a dangerous threat his people cannot tolerate.

Now, light must join forces with darkness as Alex and David struggle to stay one step ahead of an invisible army out to silence them both.
What could be better than a Paranormal Who Dun It?
I loved Soulless, I thought it was an excellent read and with a different spin in the paranormal world, where they survive from taking energy by touch, it makes it much more interesting.  I love reading a book that keeps me guessing, even when I have to put it down for a few minutes. Detective Martinez is an amazing character, a strong and honorable woman who seeks justice for those who have been victimized. And David, I felt bad for him, his character seems like such a gentle soul but its like he's forced to live in this crazy Family.
As Alex is on the hunt for a psycho serial killer, she runs into David at more than one crime scene, which in turn makes him her number one suspect. While the investigation  progresses there are more murders and it looks like all roads lead to David, but Alex can't seem to find anything concrete on him, or maybe she just didn't want to. ;) She finds herself in some trouble when the investigation starts to interfere with the Family and may lead to their "premature discovery", so she finds she needs to put her trust in David to get out of this mess alive.
I thoroughly enjoyed Soulless, it was a great page turner. I always thought I knew who it was going to be, but in the end when I found out, I was like WHAT!!?? I couldn't believe it, I would have never guessed it, it was totally awesome! I loved it and if there is a next one I'm definitely going to be reading it.

Torn between her love for Ash and Theo, Leah has to find balance. Held captive by Oscar Locke and locked away with Olivia, Leah struggles to understand who ignites her the most and who drives her powers as an elemental. She wants the fairytale ending, but that’s impossible with two catalysts and one obstacle after another in the way of her happiness.

She’s carrying someone’s child, but whose? Ash or Theo’s? As Leah gets closer to Olivia, she learns the truth about her pregnancy and her future. But will it save her from Oscar Locke who is intent to destroy Leah and those who love her for his revenge? If they can escape captivity, can the tangled bond between Leah, Olivia, Ash, and Theo be unraveled?

As Leah’s story comes to a close, find out the fate of these four Crafters as they try and find peace in Blackwater.
The Air That I Breathe is the third installment in the Blackwater series and is another great read. While Ash, Leah, Theo and Olivia are being held captive they find out some crazy truths about whats in their future and some of their parents past.  Oscar Locke is one crazy dude, talk about holding a grudge, lol. He's been trying to dismantle the Blackwater Coven for a long time and has tried his best to destroy some of the families, especially the Lavannes.
The Blackwater series was like reading a soap opera, so much going on with crazy twists and turns but always coming back to read what was going to happen next. I truly recommend it. It has some events in it that I personally find a bit weird but, it never really ruined the story.
Happy reading!

Leah struggles with her emotions as her heart is torn in half by the two men who ignite her. As she battles her feelings for Theo and Ash, she searches for her father who may hold the answers to the history of the Coven.

Eleanor and Drew search for their kidnapped son in the heart of the Louisiana wilderness, while uncovering some family connections between Eleanor and Gabriel Locke.

Erika tries to cover her tracks after Ash reaches out to her for assistance. She is still heartbroken but her journey reveals that perhaps she doesn’t have to be for very long.

Olivia discovers there is a world waiting for her outside of Blackwater, and breaks out of her protective barrier to uncover it.

Follow the four women who were introduced in Book One of the Blackwater Saga, as they craft their way through the dangers that go hand in hand with being a part of the Coven.
Another Great read in the Blackwater Series! A few different scenarios going on but it doesn't get too crazy or overwhelming.  Leah travels to France to find her father and repair things with Ash, her friends and family are also going through their own dilemmas back in Blackwater. We also get a few more details about some of the other Lavanne family members as well.
I'm glad that Olivia gets out of Normandy and is able to get some real life experience, though it turns out she has to go to France as well to save Theo, Leah, and Ash.
I enjoyed Drowning in a Dream as much as Burning For You, its just as fast paced and filled with some crazy drama, lol. It did get a bit weird again with the whole Olivia and Theo relationship, it's never really spelled out what happens but just the mention of an incestuous relationship kind of creeps me out.
But don't let that deter from the series, other than the Lavanne family drama lol,  its a great read.

When Leah Holt returns to Blackwater, she crashes into Ash Lavanne. He is her catalyst, a fire elemental from a strange family of crafters who control the Blackwater Coven. Leah is ignited by Ash. She can build, destroy, create and damage, making her one of the most dangerous crafters in existence.

Blackwater is a town with a dark past. Four hundred years ago, the witch trials that happened have left a deep impression on today’s inhabitants, splitting the town into two rival groups – the Coven and the Order.

Then Leah discovers that Ash isn’t the only one who ignites her. She is torn in half in a love triangle and learns just how powerful she has the potential to become, but could lose Ash if she dares to find out.
I thought this was a great read! Very fast paced and exciting. Leah comes back to town after moving away when she was eighteen, she's actually running back to her hometown and away from her crazy ex husband. When she returns she finds out that her ancestors weren't the only witches in her family, that not only she is, but most of her family and her hometown are too. While discovering  all of this her she literally  runs into her Catalyst while also  trying to  run her ex husband out of town before he can hurt her again.
Leah is a pretty cool character, she deals with an immense overload of information and her onset of powers pretty well. She isn't a typical crybaby who has to go through a boat load of crap before she comes to her senses, lol.  Ash is total Alpha, once he finds Leah as his catalyst he does everything he can to make her happy and keep her safe. After things hit a normal pace, they are totally thrown through a loop when Leah finds another catalyst. Once the duo becomes a trio, things get a little weird because part of the trio also has another catalyst, which happens to be his twin sister. There is an awkward steamy scene in the ballroom, at least I felt a little awkward reading it because I thought it was totally weird, since three out of the four people involved are related. Other than that little weird tidbit I thought it was a great read, and am looking forward to see what happens next.

**I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review**

I am loving this series! The Brodie Clan is amazing, I loved Iian in Forged in Dreams and Magick and Robert is wonderful in this novella. All Alpha male, protective, dominant, but sweet, and sexy. Susana is amazing character, sometimes in fiction we find real life situations we can relate to.  I can't personally relate to Susanna but I know there are women out there who can, and my heart goes out to them. Susanna was strong, brave, fierce, and does what is necessary to earn her freedom from her abusive father.
Bound by Wish and Mistletoe is different from the first book in the series but is just as excellent. This novella is about a special time, for those who celebrate Christmas, and how an unexpected appearance by one or a situation can change and enhance other peoples lives,
Susanna and Robert meeting was just such an encounter.
I absolutely loved this story and am looking forward to the next one.
