Best of 2013: Her Wicked Angel (Her Angel #6) by Felicity E. Heaton

The King of Demons and the Devil’s right hand man, Asmodeus is a dark angel born of evil and created for destruction. When his master orders him to venture into the mortal world and retrieve a female for him, he seizes the chance to leave Hell for the first time, uncaring of what the Devil has planned for her… until he sets eyes on the most beautiful woman he has ever seen—a female who awakens new feelings within his black heart, unleashing passion so intense that it controls him and desire he cannot resist.

He will not let his wretched master have her. She will belong to him.
Liora is a witch with a bad reputation and an obsession with fighting demons. A mission gone wrong sees her sent to Paris to cool off, but when a dark and deadly warrior with a gaze of golden fire lands in her life, she ends up burning hotter than Hell for the wicked angel. Nothing will stand between her and the immense, forbidding male. Not her cousin. Not Asmodeus’s sworn enemy and twin, Apollyon. And certainly not the Devil.

Caught up in a tempest of danger and soul-searing passion, can they survive against the odds and seize their forever after?
Felicity Heaton brings her latest addition to her Angel series, Her Wicked Angel and boy is it ever wicked in the most delicious way. Bad boy Asmodeus was created from evil, feeding off the pain and suffering of others until a pretty little wicked witch herself, Liora makes him first the first time in his existence question himself in so many ways. Not only is this another very sexy, hot story from Felicity Heaton, but one that pulls at the heartstrings and examines how love can make one redeem oneself if given the chance.

Asmodeus is the devil's right hand man, the King of the Demons, and despite all the evil that surrounds him and created him, somehow deep down inside goodness exists and shows up in the most delicious and innocent ways. He may have experienced a lot in his long existence, but it takes a wicked witch to show him that goodness is not a sign of weaknesses and I loved every minute reading it. I also loved how despite his tough, alpha exterior there is a tender, gentle and shall I say an innocence about him in the way he deals with new experiences. Asmodues is definitely a bad boy, but oh what a sweet, bad boy any woman would want to have.

Liora is an interesting character as she has her own demons to keep in check which can get her in a lot of trouble at times. She understands what it is like to be the outsider, different, or seen in a particular way. She is the perfect woman for Asmodeus. Feisty, courageous, determined, but at the same time patient and understanding in not giving up on someone.

I really enjoyed this book not only for the sexy, bad boy Asmodeus who could melt you with his stare, but because of the strong, emotional content in the story. The aspect that people could only see or hear about the evil in Asmodeus, but were not willing to give him a chance in redeeming himself and proving that there is more to him really made this story so compelling. Any reader who loves paranormal romances will definitely enjoy getting lost in this world and discovery how passion, compassion, understanding, redemption and most of all love can make good trump evil.

Characterfest interview # 24 with Veiron by Felicity E Heaton

Please welcome Verion and  Felicity E Heaton

I’m here today to catch up with a very special man. Actually, he’s more of an angel, but we don’t really use that word around him because he was forced to fall into the Devil’s service and become one of his Hell’s angels, so he gets twitchy and a little bit mad whenever anyone mentions that word in relation to him.

I have permission from his heroine to pay him a visit today, which is a good thing because Erin can get seriously jealous when any woman so much as flicks a glance at her smexy man! Totally understandable. He’s a lethally hot warrior after all. Extremely swoon-worthy and the ultimate bad boy.

I’m in an apartment building in London. It’s a tasteful brick affair and we’re on the top floor, where there are only two flats. The corridor is stark white and minimalist, and I know that the apartment I’m approaching looks similar on the inside, mixing clean smooth walls with an open ceiling that reveals industrial pipes.

I flex my fingers to settle my nerves and then knock. It has been a while since I last saw Veiron, and I’m eager to catch up with him.

The pale door eases open to reveal the six-foot-plus immense slice of smexy himself. His dark eyes pin me and I swallow, basking in his beauty. His dark red eyebrows pinch together.

“You’re looking at me like I’m prime steak,” he says, his deep baritone doing strange things to my insides. “If Erin were here, she’d be getting testy right about now.”

“Oh, she’s out?” Why does that thought please me so much? I get Veiron alone. Heavens. “What a shame.”

A sexy grin tugs at his lips. “Yeah, right.”

He steps back and even that small action makes me sigh as his muscles shift beneath his tight black clothing. I flick a glance at his crimson hair. It was beautiful when it was longer but he’s pulling off the shorter style, and it has already grown to his shoulders.

“No lucky leather thong?” I reach up and twirl the short ponytail at the back of his head and he smiles again.

“Erin doesn’t like it.” He catches my hand and presses a kiss to the back of it. “Now, we have an interview to do, don’t we?”

I nod dumbly. His hand is hot against mine, fingers pressing in deliciously. He kicks the apartment door closed and leads me inside. The apartment is open plan, with a huge bank of windows opposite me and the bright pink kitchen to the left. It was Erin’s bachelorette pad originally. Veiron leads me to the living area on the right and releases my hand. He sprawls out on the black chaise longue, melting into the midnight velvet fabric, and stretches his arms up and settles his hands against the back of his head.

Interview with author Felicity Heaton + Giveaway

Please welcome paranormal romance author Felicity Heaton!

Ollie:How long have you wanted to write professionally?

Felicity: I don’t think I ever wanted to write professionally before I began writing for fun. I developed a real passion for writing then and once I began writing original fiction with my own characters, it became even more of an obsession of mine. I throw myself one hundred and ten percent into things I’m passionate about, and writing is up near the top of that list. I was writing ebooks back in the days when we were constantly told that ebooks were going to make it big, but they never did. I really loved writing and I stuck with it even though chances of making a living from being an indie author were non-existent. I persevered because I had come to love writing so much and sharing my stories that I wanted to do it as my career. I never thought it was possible, but it was a nice dream to have.

Please welcome author Felicity Heaton!!

The angels of the Her Angel romance series

Thank you Laurie for having me here again as part of my Paranormal Pandemonium 2011 Blog Tour, and in particular the Her Angel series section of it that celebrates the entire angel romance series and the release of the fourth book, Her Guardian Angel.

Before I go any further and start talking about the angels at the centre of my Her Angel series, I thought I would introduce myself. I write various paranormal romances as Felicity Heaton and my Vampires Realm series as F E Heaton. My paranormal romances are usually focused on vampires and werewolves, but I do also write demons and witches, and of course there’s my series about angels too. I’ve been writing original fiction since 2005, and have been an indie author since 2006, and in that time I have written and released over forty stories.

I’m here today to talk about my angels. When I set out to write the series, I knew that I wanted to write about angels who were still working for a higher power, and that most of them would reside in Heaven, and some of them have turned and joined Hell. I didn’t want to write your typical fallen angel stories. I wanted that added complication of them being still in active service. I feel it adds to a story and gives it a unique twist that other angel romances lack, and also gives it a dash of the forbidden, which I love to write in a story.

Because my angels are still working for the man, I had to think a lot about how they would work and what Heaven would be like. I considered that there would be angels who did different duties and eventually formed several divisions of angel, and decided that each of those divisions would be identified by their appearance. All angels wear armour under normal circumstances. They have a short breastplate and back plate covering their upper torso, and vambraces that cover from their wrist to elbow, as well as greaves that protect their shins and also their boots. Around their hips they wear a loincloth and an armoured skirt type affair, a little like Roman soldiers. The armour of each division is a different colour, as are their wings.

In the Her Angel series, there are four main divisions of angel. The angels of death all wear black armour with gold edging and detailing, and have beautiful black wings. The angels responsible for intervention and mediating, sort of like what we think of as a regular angel, all have white armour with gold detailing, and white wings, and often use white and gold spears as their weapons of choice. The hunter angels, those responsible for tracking demons and killing them, have tawny wings and brown armour with dull gold detailing, and prefer swords. And finally, the guardian angels have blue armour with silver detailing, and silver-blue wings, and often use spears to fight with too.

Each division has different responsibilities, although all of them are obvious from their division titles, with the exception of the guardians. They do more than just guard. The guardians are split into subdivisions of those who watch over mortals, those who guard Heaven against intruders and act as wardens in the containment facility where demons are kept for questioning, and those who escort mortal souls through Heaven or to Hell on death. Marcus in Her Guardian Angel was the sort of guardian who did many duties, including helping out the other divisions when they were short on staff, and shepherding souls, and then ended up watching over mortals when he lost his wings to a curse, which is how he ends up being Amelia’s guardian angel.

The angels all have different abilities too, although they all share certain common skills such as being able to cast a glamour on themselves to hide their wings and change their appearance to mortal eyes so we don’t see them as angels, and making themselves invisible to mortal eyes during flight, or materialising their weapons and armour from thin air, or making objects appear or disappear in the same fashion. They are all very powerful and otherworldly beings, although some are far more powerful than others, and that all depends on how old the angel in question is.

Age doesn’t necessarily mean the same thing to them as it does to us though. Age to an angel is about the time of their creation, not about when they were last reborn. There are the original angels, and those are the most powerful, and then the other leagues of angels who were created over the centuries after them. Angels can die but they’re reincarnated back into Heaven in their usual physical appearance, always looking the same age and same hair colour, eye colour, etc as before. The only thing that can change about them is their division. Sometimes angels are born into a different division, so they have different wing colour and a different role from before. This isn’t normally a problem because an angel forgets everything about their past life upon rebirth, and learns everything from scratch again, essentially living a whole new life. There are some exceptions though. Apollyon, from my story Her Dark Angel and who also appears and plays a major role in Her Fallen Angel and Her Guardian Angel too, is one of the oldest angels in existence and is forever reborn into the role of angel of death.

The angels in my Her Angel series are very complex and live in an equally complex world. They’re eternal, always reborn on death, and are extremely powerful, although each has a different fighting style and they can all have a special power on top of their normal ones, such as healing, and they live in a society split into divisions and are loyal to their duties and their master. But they’re also men, and are passionate about the women they fall in love with, fiercely protective and possessive, and will do anything to ensure the safety of their woman, even if it means turning their back on their duty forever.

I hope this post has given you a little insight into the angels of my Her Angel series and how they differ from other angel romances, and that you’ll follow me on my Paranormal Pandemonium 2011 Blog Tour so you can learn more about the characters, the series and the books, and participate in the giveaways. Biography:
Felicity Heaton is a romance author writing as both Felicity Heaton and F E Heaton. She is passionate about penning paranormal tales full of vampires, witches, werewolves, angels and shape-shifters, and has been interested in all things preternatural and fantastical since she was just a child. Her other passion is science-fiction and she likes nothing more than to immerse herself in a whole new universe and the amazing species therein. She used to while away days at school and college dreaming of vampires, werewolves and witches, or being lost in space, and used to while away evenings watching movies about them or reading gothic horror stories, science-fiction and romances.

Having tried her hand at various romance genres, it was only natural for her to turn her focus back to the paranormal, fantasy and science-fiction worlds she enjoys so much. She loves to write seductive, sexy and strong vampires, werewolves, witches, angels and alien species. The worlds she often dreams up for them are vicious, dark and dangerous, reflecting aspects of the heroines and heroes, but her characters also love deeply, laugh, cry and feel every emotion as keenly as anyone does. She makes no excuses for the darkness surrounding them, especially the paranormal creatures, and says that this is their world. She’s just honoured to write down their adventures.

My Review:

Angels, demons, pawns, an eternal game between Heaven and Hell and a reluctant romance are featured in this fourth book in Heaton's Her Angel Series. It has a great plot and steamy chemistry between the main characters.

Marcus, Amelia's guardian angel, is shocked when she touches his hand — heat races up his arm and his heart starts to race. She looks into his eyes and his pain is instantly melted. He is astounded by his reaction to her now that he is on the mortal plane. This is his first mission to physically guard a human and he had been warned about women, how dangerous they can be. He doesn't want to be attracted to her, he just wants this mission to be over so he can return to Heaven.

Amelia thinks Marcus is smexy ... smart and sexy. She is so drawn to him but keeps getting mixed signals from him.

When they make love in the quasi-dream world, it is all she thought it might be. Later in realty, she can't believe it, it is actually much better. So much passion from her once cold angel.

Amelia is taken away from Marcus and he is more than furious. He takes his wrath out on the city in the form of a nasty thunderstorm before his friends are able to calm him and they take a trip to Hell to see what the demons know about the abduction and Amelia's possible future.

Heaven isn't all good and Hell isn't all bad in their game. The lengths each will go to with their pawns is surprising.

This is a stand alone book in the series, feel free to read out of order. I enjoyed this story very much with its creative story line. Fans of the paranormal romance and angel genres should enjoy it as well.

Vampire Venators Series – The species

It’s great to be back here at Bitten by Paranormal Romance again chatting to you all about my latest release, FORBIDDEN BLOOD, which is a vampire romance and the first in my new Vampire Venators series of novels.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with me and my stories, I write paranormal romance and science fiction romance as Felicity Heaton and F E Heaton. I have written over forty stories since 2005, and many of those are still available as e-books, either for purchase or as a free download. I’ve released four new novels this year, and have plans to release another three novels and a novella.

Today I want to talk about the species in my Vampire Venators series. There are nine species of demons and they are all watched over by the Sovereignty. The Sovereigns are nine demons of unknown origin, ancient and powerful, and are the last of their species. The Sovereignty use hunters known as Venators to carry out the death sentence on any who have broken the laws governing the individual species. Each species has their own Venators, a peace-keeping force of sorts, and their own laws. Venators belonging to one species can’t carry out a sentence on any other species, not without starting a war between those species at least.

Since there are nine species of demon in the series, I can’t talk about all of them in one go. I’ve already talked about the shape-shifting species at another blog. That’s werewolves, ailuranthropes (cat-shifters) and the other therianthropes. These three species, along with the vampires, live in our world unbeknownst to us.

This time, I’m going to focus on the rest of the species in the series. Most of these don’t live in our world, but rather make their home in the demon realm. The exceptions to this are the magic users, as in witches and warlocks, and also the fairies.

The witches in the Vampire Venators series don’t tend to interact with the other demon species and generally keep to themselves, using their magic to only benefit them and rarely others. They are regarded as demons due to their immortal nature, and the fact that they are often corrupted by their magic and have no qualm about butchering any of the other species in order to get their hands on ingredients for their spells. Because they’re a mercenary race looking out for themselves, they deny having any laws and don’t accept the Sovereignty as their governing force. To be a Venator for the witch species is seen as shameful and most of the magic users chosen to act as Venators keep their position a secret and try to avoid having to carry out any sentences passed down to them by the Sovereignty. Some witches will rather take their own lives than have to betray their species and their way of life.

The fairies, the other species that shares our world, are the complete opposite of the witches. They are very accommodating of the other eight species of demon and even the mortals. This may be because they feed off positive emotions and the life force of others through osmosis, and can often resort to seducing a demon or mortal in order to get a more potent fix. Needless to say, most of the laws governing the fairies relate to their growing addiction to feeding off sexual energy. All of the Venators in the fairy species are male, chosen because they are less likely to resort to carnal matters to get the energy they need to remain young and alive due to the fact that a male fairy has a darker side and sometimes loses control during mating, killing their partner by stealing too much of their life force. While the fairies are the kindest of the nine species, they are also one of the most dangerous due to their methods of feeding, and require the most Venators to keep the species under control.

There are three species that live in the demon realm, a world separate to ours and linked by a breach formed by the realm of the Sovereignty that sits between our realm and theirs.

The most prolific species in the demon realm are simply classified as demons. There are many different species that fall under the banner of demons of the underworld, each of them more evil than the last, but they rarely travel to our realm, and need only a few Venators as they have proven that they aren’t interested in harming other species. The demons are at most risk from themselves. Inter-subspecies wars are frequent in the demon realm, and each subspecies of demons of the underworld has their own Venators. Their role is mainly diplomatic and they spend most of their time in talks with one another to avoid wars and maintain the peace in the underworld.

Second to the demons in number are the angels. These aren’t angels as we often think of them but are rather demons of one specific form, numerous enough that they are treated as a separate species from their brethren. The angels have the appearance of beautiful males complete with coloured feathered wings and warrior’s armour, but their black hearts feed on cruelty and they drink blood as the vampires do. The wars they fought on Earth between the two main factions of their species millennia ago led to thousands of mortals dying from evisceration and blood loss, and the Sovereignty deemed them a danger to all species and used their powers to seal the angels in the demon realm. The breach between our world and the demon realm is closed to them. The Venators of the angel species are charged with the duty of keeping their kin within the demon realm. Any angel who attempts to travel through the breach is sentenced to the eternal darkness.

The remaining species that resides in the demon realm are the undead. These are mortals whose souls were stolen from them, often by the witches, or had been given freely to a demon as part of a bargain. They are growing in number but the Sovereignty has not created any Venators amongst them as the endless dark feeds on souls, and the undead have none. The Sovereignty watches over them directly and employs other means to punish any who attempt harm someone of another species.

The vampires of the Vampire Venators series rarely travel to the demon realm, but that isn’t to say that one or more of the three demon-realm-dwelling species isn’t going to make an appearance in future books in the series.

I hope you’ve enjoyed the post and learning more about some of the species of demons covered in the series, and that you’ll follow me on my tour with Forbidden Blood to learn more about the world of the Vampire Venators.

Forbidden Blood is available now in e-book formats direct from my site, on Amazon Kindle, Smashwords, Barnes and Noble Nook, Apple iBookstore, Sony Reader Store and will soon be available at other retailers. It is also available in paperback from Amazon.com and will shortly be available in paperback from Amazon worldwide and Barnes and Noble.

Character interview with Felicity Heaton character Lealandra

Interview with a sassy witch

Thank you to the lovely Laurie for inviting me to come here today and chat with everyone as part of my Paranormal Pandemonium 2011 Blog Tour for my eight book releases this year.

I guess that I should probably introduce myself so you all know who I am. I’m Felicity Heaton and I have written over forty paranormal romance and science fiction romance stories. I write as Felicity Heaton for the most part, but I also write my Vampires Realm series as F E Heaton. Most of the time I’m writing paranormal romances about vampires, werewolves, shape-shifters or dark angels, but sometimes I write about witches and demons too, and that’s where my new book comes in.

Ascension is the first book in my new Shadow & Light Trilogy series. It’s a passionate and action-packed urban fantasy romance featuring a powerful kick-ass witch heroine, Lealandra, and a snarky kick-ass dark half-demon hero, Taig.

Today, I have had a chance to interview Lealandra and catch up about her life and the series.

FH: I have Lealandra here with me today to talk about her book, Ascension. Firstly, can you tell us a little about yourself?

Lealandra: Sure thing. I’m a witch, and I come from a long line of witches. My family is old enough that we attract strong magic, the sort that has needs and desires. As long as we fulfil the needs of the magic that we host in our bodies, all is good. Since my magic found me, I’ve studied with it, learning to control it and to use the power it grants me. I’ve been with two covens in my time, one in the New York State countryside and one in New York City. They were both very different places and, looking back, I’m not sure that I made the right decision in moving to the city coven. Some people might think it’s crazy that I’m saying that I’m a witch, but it’s true. We keep out of the limelight as much as possible so normal people don’t find out about us, but sometimes it’s difficult, especially because of the war between demons and witches. We’re fighting over territory and I don’t think anyone knows why anymore. It’s a hatred that’s bred into us from generations past, and I’m a firm believer that it’s something that we now need to overcome so we don’t drag humans into our conflict.

FH: Can you tell us about what happened in your story?

Lealandra: I don’t like to think too much about it because it was a hard time for me. It was frightening enough discovering that I had started the ascension, let alone coming under attack from someone who wanted to kill me. The ascension is a time when the magic inside a witch grows to reach the pinnacle of the power it can achieve with a mortal body as its host. Most witches don’t go through the ascension. They’re rare, and it’s even rarer to survive one. My mother went through one and she almost killed me and my father when the final stage happened. My father was very brave and managed to save her. She hasn’t been the same since though. I was always afraid that I was going to end up the same way if I went through the ascension and survived. When someone killed Charlie, I didn’t know what to do. Charlie was my counter-balance. That’s a fancy term for someone who can take a little of my power, like siphoning it off, so it doesn’t get beyond my control. When he was shot, I thought it was over, I wasn’t going to survive. I had needed him to take part of my power during the final stage of the ascension or it would kill me. Then other things happened, and I fled my coven, and eventually I found the courage to seek help. It’s not easy walking back into the life of someone whose heart you broke, especially when that man is also an incredibly powerful half-demon and hunter with a bit of a temper. I was lucky that Taig was in a good mood night that and that he agreed to help me, even if his price was rather high.

FH: In Ascension, you meet Taig again after a period of six years apart. How was it seeing him again after all that time and was it frightening to walk back into his life after you had been the one to leave him?

Lealandra: I couldn’t breathe at first. Walking into that grim smoky bar and seeing him sitting there, nursing a drink, looking just as I remembered him in my dreams and in my heart, it was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. I can be stubborn as hell on a good day, and I’m not one to admit defeat, but I knew what needed to be done if I was going to survive my ascension and the madman who was after me. I needed someone who could not only find and defeat the person after me, but who could help me through my ascension and help me control my power. Taig could do that for me. When he noticed me, I almost bolted, but my feet wouldn’t move. I loved him so much all those years ago, and I still loved him. He’s the only man I’ve ever truly loved, even if he wanted to deny that feeling existed in me. I deserved his anger in payment for the pain I caused him. I walked in there knowing that, but I hadn’t expected him to kiss me back when those demons walked in and I panicked and kissed him to hide myself. When he kissed me, it was game over. I needed him all over again.

FH: Your relationship with Taig is complicated and forbidden to say the very least. Was it difficult at first when you started working together again? Taig can be quite stubborn and troublesome, so was it hard to crack his tough exterior and piece his heart back together?

Lealandra: Taig is impossible. One moment he’s the nicest guy in the world, open and loving, passionate and protective, and the next he’s hell-bent on making me pay for the hurt I caused him by leaving him to be with my counter-balance and the coven. Witches and demons don’t mix. Most people see a relationship between the two species as sacrilegious and disgusting, something worthy of punishment. When I fell for Taig, I wasn’t really thinking about what people say we should feel for each other because of what we are. I fell for a crazy, stubborn, gorgeous guy. I never realised just how much I missed him, and how much I hurt him, until we met again. Or how much he missed me. It was hard to move past what had happened between us, and even harder to make him believe in my feelings for him, but I’m not one to back down from a fight.

FH: How has life been since the events that happened and brought you together?

Lealandra: It’s been so peaceful. Taig took me to England and his family home, and I’ve learned so much about my magic. I’m growing more in touch with it and I’m learning a lot from some ancient witches that Taig knows. As for our relationship, we still have our ups and downs. Nothing is ever smooth sailing between us. We’re both so stubborn that we’ll fight tooth and nail to get our own way about some things, like hunting marks and the coven. Taig is dead set on me keeping away from covens from now on. He thinks I can learn all I need from the local witches, and in a way he’s right, but witches have a tendency to flock together. We have visitors quite often from my old covens and that gives me some company, and it’s enough for now. Taig is going through a lot at the moment and really needs me with him, and I don’t intend to leave him again. Not now, and not ever.

FH: Your story, Ascension, is a book in a series. In my interview with Taig, he mentioned that you’re the stars of the series and there there’ll be three books about you. What can you tell us about those books?

Lealandra: Well, I’m not sure how much I should say. Did he mention that they were going to be as action-packed as the first novel? *FH nods* Hmm, I guess I could say that I’m going to get my wish and we’re going to end up finding out what happened to Taig’s parents, and that it isn’t going to be an easy journey. The next story is as fraught with danger as the first, if not more so. It’s certainly going to be one hell of a read. Taig has only just started to understand the barest threads of his power, and I’m delving deeper into mine. There’s no telling where this is going to lead us.

FH: Describe yourself in one word?

Lealandra: Determined.

FH: That certainly suits you. Thank you for meeting with me today and chatting. Is there anything else that you’d like to add?

Lealandra: Only a brief thank you to you for interviewing me, and a tip-off to the readers that they really should check out my story, if only so they can fall in love with Taig just as I did.

If anyone has any questions they want to pose to Lealandra, or to myself as the author, I’d be happy to answer them if you leave a comment on this blog post.

Felicity knows how to add hot heat between a half demon and his witch, in her new upcoming release of Ascension. I couldn’t quit reading this exciting story. You get action, danger, steamy romance along with a mystery.

I loved the tension between Lealandra and Taig, it starts right off the bat and Felicity builds their romance as you read. These two have been lovers before, but Lea needed a counter-balance for her magic so she left Taig. Could she have been wrong? Once her counter-balance is murdered she has nowhere else but to Taig for help. This is where the story kicks off and its nonstop exacting romance after that. You have to read to find out how Taig helps Lealandra with her ascension and winning her back.

I recommend this to any paranormal romance or erotic romance reader.

My Review:

Cover- I love it and the next book in this series is very nice too..

3 1/2 starts
This is going to be a hard review. I love this author and the way she writes, but this book just didn’t do it for me the way I wanted it to. Felicity tells the story in great deal, so be prepared for a long book, it was 700 pgs. on my kindle. At the first some things are repeated and it dragged in the middle for me.

I loved the characters, the mythological story elements and the reincarnated story life of Lauren. What I didn’t like was how the hero Julian was portrayed and how Lauren treated him in the past. I would feel sorry for Julian at times and then there are times when I felt Julian was a wimp. There are some other things that happen that will make you very emotional. I hate to get caught up with a character and then poof they are gone, but it makes every thing more real. As for the sex between the hero and heroine, they have quite a bit of sexual tension from the start then it keeps building, but you won’t see any real action until your almost at 600 pages. So for those of you who love the sex action be patient.

Over all the action and danger along with the mythological story made for a good book, so I would suggest this to anyone loves these elements in a book.

Interview with Paranormal Romance/Erotica/Science Fiction Romance author Felicity Heaton

Please welcome Paranormal Romance/Erotica author Felicity Heaton

Ronda – Hello Felicity, thank you so much for taking the time out to do this Interview. I absolutely love Her Angel Romance Series! Would you please tell those who don’t know about them a little about Her Angel Romance Series?

Felicity – Hi Ronda. Thanks for interviewing me. My Her Angel series takes a look at a world that exists within our world, one that we don’t normally see. In it, angels work for a higher power and they watch over us, protecting us from demons intent on doing us harm. Those angels are very loyal to their master and their duty, but they’re also very passionate men and sometimes their loyalty to their duty is tested by the most powerful force in nature—love. The heroes I’ve written so far in the Her Angel series have all been very different, not just in the duty they perform, and have all fallen for a very different type of heroine. I like mixing things up and exploring new worlds, and the Her Angel series has given me a chance to do that. I spent quite a long time building the world, thinking about all the different duties an angel might perform, and looking at theories on them, and then creating my own type of angel. I’ve separated them out into areas of expertise. In the series so far, we’ve met Apollyon, who guards the Devil in Hell and is also one of the angels of the Apocalypse, Lukas, who is more of an intermediary, and Einar, a warrior whose duty is hunting down demons who threaten mankind. In the novel in the series, which will be available in mid-2011, we meet Marcus, who is a guardian.

Ronda – What made you write about these Angels?

Felicity – I’ve always had a deep love for the paranormal and anything fantastical. I was wondering what to write next one day, thinking about my usual vampires, werewolves, witches or shape-shifters, and then the muse suggested angels. It didn’t take too long before the character that became Apollyon was in my head. After that, I started researching and found information on an angel named Apollyon and he fitted my character perfectly, so I based part of him on those theories. My hero Apollyon is a dark angel, somewhat dangerous and deadly, and mysterious, just like the one in mythology. When he came together, he brought his world and Serenity with him. She’s sort of the light to his darkness. The combination of Apollyon and Serenity made it really fun to write the first book, and it wasn’t long into the first draft before I realized that I wanted to write more angels and make it a series. I loved having the chance to see if feathers could be as sexy as fangs. I think I’ve proven that they are. All three of the heroes so far in the series have captured the attention of many female readers!

Ronda - How many books do you plan on writing in this series?

Felicity – I have three novellas in the series available at the moment—Her Dark Angel, Her Fallen Angel, and Her Warrior Angel. I’m planning a novel in the series right now. Her Guardian Angel will feature a new hero and heroine, but will also bring back all of the characters in the first three novellas too. It’s going to be a thrill ride full of twists and turns, and plenty of fighting so we can see just how destructive Apollyon can be when the mood strikes him!

Ronda – I love the whole mythology about angels and every time I read a book about one I learn something new like for instance that coffee and alcohol are sexual stimulants for angels. What was the hardest decision you have come across when deciding which part of the mythology about the angels you wanted to put in these stories?

Felicity – I took a lot of time to read about angels but in the end I wanted to explore them in a fresh way that would make them unique to my stories. In my world, the angels aren’t fallen. They’re still working for Heaven. Only Lukas is technically fallen, and even he’s trying to get back into Heaven. I wanted them to still be working for that higher power as it added a new level to the idea that they shouldn’t be falling in love with mortals. My angels have to fight harder to prove to the heroine that being with them is alright and it isn’t forbidden.

Although, in the case of the hero and heroine in Her Warrior Angel it is very forbidden because in my world an angel can’t love a demon, and Taylor, the heroine, is half-demon. I also considered just what would be important to an angel. Flying was the thing that struck me hardest, so I played on the idea that an angel might get a bit antsy if they couldn’t fly, or miserable if they were banned from flying. I also liked the idea that so much is forbidden to angels that they would have this almost human and childish sense of curiosity about the things they couldn’t do.

Heaven is gradually easing the restrictions but without telling the angels. So while alcohol was once a big no-no, it’s now acceptable. Lukas discovers that in Her Fallen Angel when he isn’t punished for drinking, and Apollyon is quick to question him about the effects and what it felt like to be drunk. Whenever I write supernatural or preternatural creatures, I like to read about the mythology and then try a new take on things to make it mine. I think it makes it more interesting for readers if they encounter something a little different from author to author.

Ronda – Do you have a favorite Angel?

Felicity – I guess I would be drawn to Apollyon. He’s supposed to be an angel, but there’s also all these theories about him that say he’s the Devil, or he’s the angel of death. He has some brilliant titles too, like The Great Destroyer and King of the Bottomless Pit. I think it adds to his allure that he’s so mysterious and no one really knows whether he’s good or bad. I wanted to play on that in Her Dark Angel. I couldn’t believe how perfectly one of the mythical angels fitted into my story. Of course, I had to tweak him a little to make him my character and bring him to life.

Ronda – How do you come up with the right heroine for your Angels? Is there a process or do they just come while you’re writing?

Felicity – I’ve often said that I have a seriously busy train station in my head. Think Grand Central. Characters just show up, demanding attention. Once I have the hero down, or sometimes the heroine, their opposite number tends to come along too. I try to think about what sort of person the hero or heroine I have would be drawn to and fall for, or what type would provide the most interesting story.

Once I have a general idea for the characters, I work on them to give them little facets that allow them to play off each other, and in the end match each other perfectly. With Apollyon, I needed someone who would be very loving, and warm, and very light when compared with him. Almost his opposite really. Serenity is like that. She’s open, and thinks mostly about others, placing them before herself, and she’s very caring, so much so that she doesn’t really want to hurt her cheating ex, but she does want him to pay. When Apollyon suggests things akin to tossing him into Hell, she’s against it straight away and seeks a less harmful route to revenge, one that brings her a lot closer to Apollyon!

Ronda – Do you have a favorite heroine that you have picked out for one of your Angels?

Felicity – I really like Taylor, the heroine in Her Warrior Angel. She’s half demon, but so human at the same time. She doesn’t want to get hurt, and knows that love between her and an angel is impossible, but so is resisting her attraction to Einar. She’s afraid, wants to be strong and does her best, acting cool and keeping her distance. I think we’ve all been a little afraid of getting our heart broken and taking a risk, and I wanted to put those feelings into the story. She’s also really feisty and playful, teasing Einar even though he’s phenomenally powerful. She’s sassy. Probably the most sassy heroine in the series. Plus, she can hold her own. I like strong heroines who kick ass, but who aren’t invincible. Sometimes you’ve got to lean on the hero for support. Especially when he’s as gorgeous as Einar.

Ronda – Are there any plans for future spin offs from this series?

Felicity – No spin offs, but there may be more stories. I don’t have any ideas beyond the fourth and only novel so far, but there might be room for more. I’d have to think about Heaven a little more and the ranks of angels there as I’m cherry picking an angel from each unit. We’ve had one from the guardians in Hell, an intermediary, a warrior, and next is a guardian in Heaven. Although, Taylor in Her Warrior Angel does mention that the Devil and demons have their own version of angels. Perhaps I could write about a demonic angel.

Ronda – I see you have a couple other series that’s Sci/Fi Romance, can you tell us a little about those series?

Felicity – I have a few series. I have the Sons of Lyra and Daughters of Lyra series which I write as Felicity Heaton. They’re both science fiction romance. The Sons of Lyra series came first. It’s four short stories following the four handsome princes of Lyra as their hearts are finally captured by the women they’ll eventually marry. After that came the Daughters of Lyra series, which follows the daughters of those sons as they venture out into the universe and capture themselves a man. In that one, we meet a lot of different species, and I’ve played with vampires in space too. Plenty of forbidden love, action, danger and romance in them.

I also write the Vampires Realm series under my other pen name, F E Heaton. Vampires Realm is an ongoing paranormal romance series. At the moment, there are eight stories in the series, two of them are short freebies, but there’s also an epic trilogy, and two long novels. They’re quite dark as I like to write vampires with bite and no regrets. I don’t write apologetic vampires and werewolves who abstain from blood and don’t hurt people.

Many reviewers have commented on how I’ve managed to write such vicious unforgiving vampires in a way that doesn’t turn the reader off them but rather pulls them into the story instead. It’s a different world but one I think most readers would enjoy, especially if they’re looking for real vampires—deadly, sexy and dangerous. I’ve had readers writing to me since I first starting releasing stories in the series and a lot of them are quite addicted to the world. I have another story in the series coming out in February 2011, and then another later in the year. I really enjoy writing stories for the series and I’ve only just scraped the surface with the ones I’ve written. There’s a lot more to explore in the world, and I have around another six novel ideas waiting to be written and some shorter stories.

Ronda - Can you tell us a little on what your working on now for us to read next?

Felicity – I’m currently preparing to release Love Immortal under my Felicity Heaton name. It’s an epic, action-packed and passionate thrill-ride that combines vampires, immortals, mythology, Greek gods and goddesses, werewolves, and people with incredible powers. It’s a long novel and I’m currently posting free chapters of it on a special blog: http://loveimmortalromancenovel.blogspot.com/ – the book will be released on January 15th 2011 as an e-book, and then I’ll be releasing a paperback in late January/early February. I’m also editing Hunter’s Moon, which is the next Vampires Realm novel, and that’ll be released in February. Besides those two, I have another nine planned releases in 2011. Plenty to keep readers happy!

FUN QUESTIONS:

Ronda – What’s your favorite food to eat?

Felicity – I love Macaroni Cheese but my husband hates it, so whenever we go to my parents house, they make it for me. I like most Italian food, and also love Japanese food too.

Ronda – Do you have a favorite Movie or TV program that you watch?

Felicity – I’m currently really into Vampire Diaries. We’re quite behind in the UK, but as long as I avoid people talking about it, I don’t get hit with spoilers. I think Stefan is a wimp though. Not my kind of vampire. I also watch a lot of anime. That’s my favourite thing to watch.

Ronda – What’s your favorite color?

Felicity – Purple and Black (although technically Black is a shade)

Ronda – Do you have any pets?

Felicity – I have one ball of fur, teeth and claws. Koyo is a cat that can be loving one second and tearing your arm off the next. She’s lovely really, but she’s super-playful and has gained herself quite a few nicknames because of her behaviour. She also hides from my family or any strangers who come over to my house. Of course, if they go upstairs, she’ll block them so they can’t get back down again. It’s funny to me but my family don’t share my opinion.

When the call finally comes, it’s to serve a new master, a beautiful woman he has often watched over, a woman who has always captivated him.

Einar is one of Heaven’s best hunters and he’s on a mission to uncover why an angel was working with demons. When he finds the first demon fighting a beautiful woman named Taylor, he intervenes and saves her life. Taylor has spent her whole life protecting London from the lowest demons and she’s not about to let an angel waltz into her city and take over her job, and she’s certainly not about to fall in love with him, even if he is gorgeous. The reason why she can’t is simple—she’s half demon.
There is no love in this world more forbidden than that between an angel and a demon.
Sense tells Taylor to get out before she gets her heart broken, but she winds up convincing Einar to partner with her instead. Einar is certain that working with Taylor is a bad idea, and not only because he can’t focus when he’s around her, but he can’t let her go. The mission leads them deep into the city’s underworld, where old flames burn Taylor while new flames of passion and fear of the consequences consume them, and the threat of Einar’s demons hangs over them both.
Can a love so forbidden ever have a happy ending or are they destined to break each other’s hearts?
