I love Eva Gordon's books.  Her Apocalyptic Moon series is amazing - I love her characters and I'm really looking forward to this new series coming out.

Mia’s testimony against Russian mobsters forced her to enter the witness protection program. She is relocated to a quaint cottage in Wolf Woods, near Mt. Rainier, far from everyone and everything she loved and cared for. All is calm, until she meets Dominic, the gorgeous ruggedly handsome owner of the mysterious Wolfe Estate. He is all alpha male, domineering, and controlling. The last thing she needs is to get involved with a sexy control freak.

Alpha werewolf, Dominic Wolfe, is the packs’ enforcer. When an attractive young woman moves into a cottage near his territory; his senses are heightened to obsessive proportions. A human pet to meet his desires.

Dominic is determined to unveil Mia’s real identity while keeping his own securely hidden. Review: Hand of Miriam by Eva Gordon

Genre: Steampunk Paranormal Romance
Length: Novel

On an archaeological expedition, Bayla Gideon, is widowed by a supernatural force and
branded with the Hand of Miriam or Knowing Eye. Threatened by evil, she awakens the golem; a mythical man of clay, who protected the Jewish community over three centuries ago. The golem, Gesher, is surprised. Freedom –by a beautiful, enchanting woman. His desire is to return to the celestial spheres and regain his status as an avenging angel. Yet, Bayla challenges his mind, body and soul. Would he risk his return to the heavens for her? Besides, dealing with the otherkind, mad inventors and an unrelenting matchmaking aunt, Bayla is equally determined to resist her steamy attraction to the striking fallen angel. Thrust into a malevolent war, which includes facing Jack the Ripper, they must resist the magnetic pull toward each other, while protecting the world from encroaching evil.

Hand of Miriam is a great mix of steam punk and romance with just a twist of religion to keep it even more interesting.  Bayla Gideon has been marked with the ability to sense evil with a touch. Bayla is unique from women of her time in other ways as well.  She is an academic that loves to go on expeditions looking for antiquities.  One of her late husband's great prizes is a golem.  When Bayla's new abilities begin to lead to threats to her life she decides to give life to the golem, never realizing what his true history really is.

There is a huge storyline in this book - almost too much.  It involves the presence of Jack the Ripper - only his victims aren't only human.  He's been killing vampiresses as well (oh yes did I mention there are vampires, werewolves, ghouls, demons, all sorts of fun stuff).  Bayla and her golem, Gesher, are out to try and find out just what is going on - madness ensues with lots of fighting and lots of Gesher saving the day.  And all along the way they are slowly falling love - but if they follow their desires he will never be able to return heaven - major issue.

The story is how they deal with the baddies, resolve their love delimma, and end with a mostly HEA.  It is a series so there has to be more to the story somewhere.  The only downfall for me was there was one too many "endings".  I thought for sure she had written a fantastic ending that I loved, loved, loved, and then there were another 50 pages and another ending that just wasn't quite as satisfaying for me.  I think the extra bit was important to the overall storyline though.

They battle a new breed of zombie, faster and stronger than the human variety, and with an appetite for shifters.

While facing zombies, merciless tankers, and zealous Benandanti werewolves, Rave and Maddox struggle against their forbidden passion. They must set aside their conflicts and strike at the new zombie threat before the new virus spreads.
My review of Book One: Apocalyptic Moon

After the Bane is a series that will to appeal to just about anyone.  With an interesting mix of Zombie Apocalypse, hot Shifters, and some great romance - there's always something exciting happening.  Ravenna played a smaller part in the first book of the series, but she stole the show for the pages she was on.  She's a diva that also happens to be the alpha female of her raven murder - the princess that is set to take over the rule of the North American ravens.

Fate may have a different idea of what Rave will be doing.  When she falls not only for a werewolf, but an enemy werewolf that thinks she devil-spawned, she's pretty sure something is going to go wrong.  When they run into each other again afer a failed mission, Maddox has a hard time keeping his wolf from instantly marking her as his.

Their trip to accepting each other is full of strange supper ape zombie attacks, sex slave rings, and resistance from the shifters in their lives.  But with so much going go, they still need to try and find time to figure out their love for each other and what to do about it.

This was an amazing second edition to the series and I really really hope there's more to come.  With fantastically dynamic characters and a non-stop plot line (that doesn't skimp on the romance) it was nearly impossible to put down.  While this is the second in the series, you could probably read it by itself and only miss out on a little of the world and organization backgrounds.  I love the fact that Eva Gordon tackled the raven shifters - making a less glamourous bird into something truly exotic, exciting and sexy.

Book Review and Trailer: Apocalyptic Moon by Eva Gordon

Title: Apocalyptic Moon
Author: Eva Gordon
Source: Author Request
Genre: Dystopian Paranormal Romance
Length: Novel
Release Date: May 10, 2013

Dr. Dora Adler's life has been in disarray since the beginning of the zombie apocalypse, but when she gets bitten by one of the undead, her whole world is turned upside down.  Held captive in a secret underground lab, the tall, muscular hunk in the next cell is her only hope for salvation.  Unfortunately, he claims to be a werewolf.  Yeah, and she's supposedly a witch.

Dirk Gunderson is an alpha Arbor pack werewolf.  Captured and collared, he's sold to the zombie lab in hopes his blood serum can create a vaccine.  He needs to escape, but not without the hot little brunette witch.

In the midst of enemy werewolves and the hordes of undead, Dirk and Dora's sexual tension ignites a blaze hotter than the desert highway.  Along their journey, they battle the inevitable: a werewolf must never take a witch as a mate.

Yes, you read the genre correctly.  I consider this a dystopian story - one with zombies taking over the world and civilization crumbling.  But that doesn't mean that a werewolf can't meet a witch in a super secret underground medical lab trying to find a cure.  And it doesn't mean that even though they are both prisoners, that they can't fall in love and in happily every after.....right?

Of course there is the ban against werewolves mating with witches, the massive hordes of zombies waiting to eat them, and the general chaos that one would expect at the end of the world.  But that doesn't stop Dirk and Dora from giving everything they can to make it work - screw the rest, they'll deal with it later.

Dora has become one of my favorite heroines, her snarky attitude and determined mindset were a perfect fit for this story.  Loaded with all the action you could ask for, and plenty of hot werewolf all along the way, I finished hoping for more - and I hear there's a second in the works and I can't wait!
