First we’ll start off with a fun one, who is Fred the moose, and who are his loyal followers?

Marie: Green Mountain readers met Fred in chapter one of book one, All You Need Is Love, when city girl Cameron Murphy ran her brand new Mini Cooper into Fred on a dark mountain road. When Will Abbott came upon the scene, he was far more concerned about the health of the town moose than he was about the city girl’s brand new car with the crushed front end. It was the start of a beautiful romance between Will and Cameron—and Cameron and Fred, who shows up with enough regularity that Will’s dad surmises Fred has a crush on Cameron. Much hilarity ensues any time Fred pops in for a visit, which is why the readers eagerly look forward to his appearances in each of the Green Mountain books.

The Green Mountain Series features the Abbott, Stillman, and Coleman families. Where are Charley and Tyler in the Green Mountain family tree?

Marie: Charley falls square in the middle of the Abbott family at number five out of ten siblings. She’s a self-proclaimed pain the rear, and you won’t hear her siblings deny that she’s one prickly, pushy, pain the butt. But they love her anyway, and so does Tyler, who’s been trying to get her to go out with him for ages. He doesn’t stand a chance with her until she falls off a mountain, and he sees his opportunity to come to her rescue—in more ways than one!

This book follows the story of Charley and Tyler, can we expect everything to go smoothly for them, or will they hit a few road bumps along the way?

Marie: This is a romance novel! The course of true love never runs smooth, and Charley and Tyler are in for a wild ride before they find their happily ever after. Their story has all the things readers have come to expect from this series—meddling family members, sibling bickering, hot, steamy love scenes and a visit from Fred the moose!

Ain’t She Sweet is set in picturesque Vermont, how do you use this landscape to pull out the stories of your characters?

Marie: The mountain tapestry offers up a lot of opportunities for story, such as when Cameron arrives in the midst of mud season (and yes, mud has a season in Vermont), or when Charley falls off the side of a mountain during a snowy run. The characters love to ski and snow-mobile, among other activities that require toasty fires in the wood stove and down comforters to keep them warm. ;-)

Time for another fun one! What are Charley and Tyler’s favorite food, color, car and sport?

Marie: They prefer cars with four-wheel drive, such as Tyler’s Range Rover, to get them around in the mountains during the winter. They both love to run, as you’ll see in the opening chapters of Ain’t She Sweet. As for the rest, well, you’ll have to read the book and decide for yourselves! Thanks for joining us today, and for giving us the opportunity to learn a little more about your latest book!

Maid for Love by Marie Force - Review

Title: Maid for Love - The McCarthy's of Gansett Island #1

Maddie Chester is determined to leave her hometown of Gansett Island, a place that has brought her only bad memories and ugly rumors. Then she’s knocked off her bike on the way to her housekeeping job at McCarthy’s Resort Hotel by Gansett’s “favorite son,” Mac McCarthy. He’s back in town to help his father with preparations to sell the family resort and has no intention of staying long. When Mac accidentally sends Maddie flying over the handlebars, badly injuring her, he moves in to nurse her back to health and help care for her young son. He soon realizes his plans for a hit-and-run visit to the island are in serious jeopardy, and he just may be “maid” for love.
I love Marie Force's characters - every single one of them. At first the story of the maid and the rich young man falling in love may sound a little cliche, but Force brings a great added story line in Maddie Chester's past. She's had a very rough life, and a small portion of the reason why lies with part of his family. She has some serious trust issues and struggles a lot with making ends meet. One of the shining joys in her life (and in the book) is her son. He really lights up every scene with his baby antics and smiling face.

Mac runs into Maddie (literally) quite by accident and he can't get her out of his mind. She's not like any woman he's met - the kind that are usually after his money. If anything, Maddie wants nothing to do with him because of his money. Mac makes a few mistakes - but with very good intentions - and things start to go wrong. His family isn't all too keen on him dating Maddie because of the rumors about how she lives either.

What really hits you the most in this book, and in all the other Marie Force I have read, are the relationships. Not just between our main characters, but the delicate web she manages to weave between everyone in the stories. They are each connected in some way, and on a small island town, those lines can get complicated but fun.

P.S. This is free in ebook on Amazon and Barnes & Noble - so no reason not to try it!!

Politics can be murder.

… Lieutenant Sam Holland has no sooner accepted Senator Nick Cappuano's proposal than she's back on the job. A woman has been found brutally murdered and evidence points to Henry Lightfeather, a senator and close friend of Nick's. While Sam investigates, Nick stands by his friend—complicating his own bid for reelection, and causing tension between the couple.

As Sam's investigation reveals a scandal that rocks the capital, Nick and Sam discover that the biggest threat to their future might be someone from her past.
Sam and Nick - DC's favorite couple.  As they prepare to get married, Sam finds herself investigating yet another high profile murder case.  When it comes to light that a Senator has been sleeping with a member of the cleaning crew - and she winds up dead - Sam knows there's more to the story than what first appears.  Her gut rarely steers her wrong, and it's absolutely correct in this one.  She finds herself investigating several political figures - some in very high places.

But the murderer is convinced he's untouchable and begins to make threats against Sam.  Meanwhile, Nick is trying to plan their wedding and keep Sam safe.  To top it all off, Sam's ex-husband is back in the story causing problems again.  Sam and Nick's relationship really seems kind of settled in this one, so Marie has introduced a new romance that is so incredibly sweet.

Detective Gonzalez (Gonzo) has just found some incredibly exciting and scary news.  He's afraid that it will tear his new relationship with Christine apart.  But they are both amazing people and you just know they are meant to be together.  It was a lot of fun to have this couple finding true love - even though their story wasn't the main event - it was prominent enough that it really stands out.

With the week of their wedding finally upon them, Washington, D.C., Police Lieutenant
Sam Holland and her fiance, Senator Nick Cappuano, are at odds. In the aftermath of a tragic loss, they struggle to reconnect as the big day draws near, but their work keeps pulling them apart. When a new clue into a cold case surfaces, Nick asks Sam not to take any foolish chances before the wedding and to leave it alone for the time being.

Sam agrees, but she can't let it go entirely and winds up trapped in an explosive situation. Then an unwelcome visitor from her past threatens her future happiness... With trouble at every turn, will Sam survive long enough to walk down the aisle?

Book 3.5: a Fatal novella. Don't miss Fatal Affair, Fatal Justice and Fatal Consequences, available now.
Nick and Sam's wedding is almost here, and Nick is determined that nothing will keep Sam from being able to make it.  He refuses to let her work get in the way this time.  I loved watching Sam's more girly side come out as she gets excited about she gushes over shoes and dresses.

But Sam may have caught a break in the case of her father's shooting - and it will be hard to keep her focused on the wedding and not work.  And the break is a very dangerous one.

I loved the wedding planner, Sam calls her Tinker Bell and now I can't remember what her real name was.  Every time I picture her like a little pixie making magic happen.  And that's just what she does for Sam and Nick.  Their wedding comes together beautifully and there are quite a few very touching scenes spread out nicely throughout this fantastic novella.

A FATAL SERIES NOVEL She looked into the dead face of the man she'd dined with the
night before;

Standing over the body of a Supreme Court nominee, Lieutenant Sam Holland is hip-deep in another high-profile murder case. The fact that she was one of the last people to see Julian Sinclair alive just complicates things even more. On the plus side, her relationship with Senator Nick Cappuano is heating up; but it's also attracting a lot of unwanted media attention and blinding flashbulbs.

The pressure is on for Sam to find Sinclair's killer, but a new lead in her father's unsolved shooting puts her in unexpected danger. When long-buried secrets threaten to derail her relationship with Nick, Sam realizes that while justice can be blind, mixing romance with politics has the potential to be fatal.
Absolutely amazing!  Marie Force has continued the story of Sam and Nick with another incredible book.  With two murder investigations underway and Nick's new senatorial appointment, they seem to have a bit of a hard time connecting.  And with one of those investigations involving one of Nick's close friends, there's more than enough stress to go around.

The murders take the story in two different directions at the same time.  The main one is of the Supreme Court nominee and most of the story revolves around this case, but in a super close second we have one that may be a lead into Sam's father's case - a very good lead that takes Sam on a roller coaster ride of emotions.

Through all of this their relationship has a whole new set of trials.  While they seemed so strong together at the beginning, there were times I was afraid they wouldn't be able to work out a compromise and make it all work.  To keep with the romance theme, there are two more hovering in the background just to make sure the reader gets enough, and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of them.

An engaging story line with some spectacular characters really seem to bring this series together.  I can't wait to see what Sam and Nick have to tackle next in their lives as they try to make their relationship into what they both want and need.

On the morning of the most important vote of Senator John O’Connor’s career he is late—
again. His best friend and chief of staff, Nick Cappuano sets off to O'Connor’s apartment expecting to roust him from bed and hoping he is alone. But what Nick finds is that O’Connor, the handsome, amiable Senator from Virginia, has been brutally murdered, and Nick’s world comes crashing down around him. Complicating the disaster, the detective assigned to the case is none other than Sam Holland, Nick’s one-night stand from six years earlier, the woman who broke his heart and haunts his dreams. With six years worth of unfinished business hanging between them and more than a few scores to settle personally and professionally, Nick and Sam set out to find the senator's killer while trying—and failing—to resist the overwhelming attraction between them that seems to have only grown over the years.

It soon becomes clear that the Senator’s past holds secrets that not only led to his death but now endanger Nick and Sam as well. Working together to find a killer and to rediscover the love they thought they lost long ago, they must put the past behind them and build a future that offers a world of new opportunities for both of them—including an offer from the Virginia Democrats for Nick to finish the last year of John’s term.
I think I may have found another favorite hero - Nick Cappuano is just an amazing character.  When he finds his boss dead (in a particularly nasty fashion - although don't worry - it isn't gruesome) he does what any red-blooded man would do.  He gets sick!  It was such a human reaction and it set up a book full of very human characters.  Characters led by emotion instead of logic at times, characters that were doing their best to do good but not always succeeding, characters with a twisted mind and sense of justice.

The murder seems to have no suspects for a very long time.  Then it seems to have too many suspects.  I was constantly drawn into each person as they looked into them.  Several times I was convinced they had found the guy only to find out otherwise.  It wasn't until they very end that I was finally able to put a name to their prime suspect - just a few page before Sam does herself.

It was quite a wild ride - both with the investigation and the romance.  Sam and Nick have some baggage that needs to be cleared up, plus the fact that it's unethical for her to get involved with a witness.  They surpass these obstacles very nicely and are an amazing couple together.  This is a series I'll have to start keeping up with, although since there are eight of them currently it may be awhile before I manage to do that.
