Oh geez, I feel like I'm about to tell my best friend that her butt does indeed look big in those jeans :(

I love Larissa Ione's Demonica series. I've read it over and over again. Heck, they were part of the reason that I got hooked on PNR, which is why this review is so hard to write. The premise sounds promising, but as I started to read there were things that aggravated me:

Vampires have been used as slave for over 50 years. That's fifty years of humans being exposed to them and in all that time no one realized that they have the same emotions/wants/needs of humans? At first I wrote this off using examples of slavery from our past. For centuries our ancestors treated people different to themselves as nothing more than animals and felt no moral qualms, so, I used this reasoning and tried to move on. BUT it eventually got to be too much for me. Nicole's doctorate in vampire physiology leads me to believe that she's been exposed to vampires. A lot. Add to that the fact that her family owns a huge company that would lead to further exposure to vampires and I started asking questions. How in the heck in all that time did she not realize that they're just people that need a little sip of blood occasionally to live? It's just so unbelievable I wanted to pull my hair out.

Nicole as a character was just soooo naive. Poor little rich girl has all of the book smarts in the world, but streets smarts she is 'a lacking'. *I'm talking more than a couple of too stupid to live moments*

Then there's the originality factor. Maybe I have read too much PNR, so I'm jaded, but it just doesn't seem like there was anything new going on. 
Feuding vampire clans? Check. 
Idiotic heroine? Check. 
Alpha vampire male that hates humans but somehow falls for idiotic heroine? Check, check, check!

I have a feeling that if Bound by Night had been written and released three years ago I would have given it a solid 4 stars, but since the bar for the vampire genre has been raised in the last few years I'm letting it stand at as a 2 :(

Larissa Ione knows how to ride in with a fantastic start of a new hot freaking series. I loved Eternal Rider and need more!! Who wouldn’t like to read about 3 sexy horsemen and one hot lady horseman of the apocalypse along with the addition of demons, vampires, hellhounds and more. As you guessed it Ione gives you tons of excitement danger and lots of hot wicked sex. This author always amazes me with how deep she gets into her storyline and always makes it exciting to read.


Cara is having a streak of miss fortune. She is behind on her bills. She has a talent that she doesn’t use because it causes more problems. When a dog is delivered to her in need of a vet she never thinks that helping him with her hidden talent would start a chain reaction that could start an apocalypse, oh no, never in her dreams. Then again this is not an ordinary dog that takes a liking to her.


I loved the story and the way it flowed and the characters are amazing, I can’t wait to see how Ione is going to take the rest of the horseman into their journey. I highly recommend this to any paranormal romance reader.

Note you may think the sexual rating is high, but wait until you get to almost the end of the book.

Excellent! HOT!

Another great read by Larissa Ione - a world where the Ageis known as Guardians hunt down the creatures of the underworld but when one of them actually becomes one of those creatures, where do they turn? I love the fact that they still find in themselves that they still hold that sense of humanity but with intensified sences, that they still have feelings and still love, and mainly that they realize there will always be the good, the bad, and the ugly no matter what world you come from.

Great story and the erotic scene was HOT! I wanted more and couldn't believe how fast I read this short story, I litterly couldn't put it down.

Your usual yarn: Good Guy gets turned into a vampire against his will but doesn't turn evil. Of course, that only enhances his natural abilities. *wagging eyebrows* Said Good Guy takes revenge on Bad Vamp, gets The Girl, lives HEA.

The attraction here is this novella is part of Ms. Ione's Demonica Series. Do yourself a favor: Splurge on your favorite indulgence - chocolate or coffee or donut - instead, you'll get more satisfaction.

Kaden made a vow to take his on life if ever transformed by the enemy. However, he just could not do it. Kaden is now trapped in a cell with his lover. Kaden feels the need to take Andrea’s body and blood, but will he be able to stop? And if he does will they truly be able to have a future?

To state the obvious this was a short read. Due to this fact I found the story lacking in the sexual department. A solid short story with pertinent facts to the series. However, if you are not reading the Demonica novels then this novella is not for you.

Wow! This book is over the top! There is so much going on in this book you may think it will overwhelm you (if it does, slow down).I didn’t have a problem with it,I thought it is brilliant!! I have to hand it to Larissa it’s not one bit confusing.

Now let me tell you what you’ll find in this book, assassins, ghost’s, a new sister to a few bro’s, action, great romance, angels, Grim reaper (I loved that one!), Evil villain (I never expected who it was, it floored me when I read it). And there is some humor and of course those gorgeous demon’s and their wives. Also, this book can be sad at times so add plenty emotions too.

The only reason why I did not give 5 stars is, it has so much going on I didn’t get the feel of Lore and Idess as much as I would have liked to.

I really hate to give out any spoilers for this book because it just is an excellent book, but for those who have to have it, please continue.

Idess is a Memitim angel that has to protect Kynan. Lore is an assassin that has been charged to kill Kynan by his master and tries to do just that until he end’s up chained to a bed by Idess. Idess finds that Lore is one of her Promori and can’t kill him. But she has to keep Lore from killing Kynan to get her wings, so the only way was is to chain him to a bed. Will she have her way with Lore or not? It may surprise you. Now you will have to read for yourself to see how it turns out.
