There are a ton of upsides to living in San Francisco. Sparring with your friends, annoying your brat little sister, and hospitable weather, if you don't mind the fog.

There's only one DownSide.

All of the deranged, mutated freaks live there on the polar opposite side below the City. Not that Zev Ruzik, Chief of San Francisco's Paranormal Bureau, has ever been there. Twenty years ago, the portals had been welded shut and Zev became a poster boy for Division and Separation of Enhanced People. Today, he's the last male of his kind: heavy dose of werewolf blended with a breed best left unmentioned.

Lyra Methelle is the yin to his yang. Heavy on the 'other' stirred with a moderate helping of werewolf, also last of her kind. Perfect mate for Zev, or so an ancient religion says, but that excludes the fact that she's a DownSide Control agent who just broke a dozen laws to storm through a portal onto his side of the Golden Gate. Lyra is a Tracker with one goal: hunting down her arch nemesis before it locates its target.

Zev is ready to throw Lyra back through the portal, even though all intercity communications are nonfunctional, preventing transport. That is, until he discovers that Lyra's prey is searching for his little sister.

Now, all bets are off and Zev is forced into an uneasy partnership that has him striving to stay focused on their mission and to keep hot and heavy thoughts about Lyra's lush, diamond dipped curves out of mind.

My Ratings

Review

Sexual

As with her other novels, Ms. Reynolds uses flashback and we are graced with not only the beginning of an eternal friendship, but that of Duncan’s loss and rebirth. However, this novel is not as gritty, violent or bloody as the previous ones. What you will find is an underbelly of deceit and corruption in the halls of Washington D.C. The subject matter of nonconsensual sex is handled very well and given kid-glove treatment.

Raphael has finally met his match in Duncan. No, Raphael hasn’t been usurped – as these two vampires vary so greatly in their display of powers. Duncan is the epitome of the Southern “Vampire” Gentleman. He holds his power close to himself, only showing any type of display when absolutely necessary. And then, “Katy bar the doors!” This Southern “Vamp” Gentleman also knows how to treat a Lady. *wink wink*

Without giving too much away, there is one part where:

Duncan looked over Alaric’s shoulder, his gaze finding Emma in the deep shadows beneath a drooping tree on the other side of the yard. She stood motionless, staring at him, her hands clasped against her mouth. He slapped Alaric’s shoulder and stepped aside, starting toward her. She watched him come, her violet eyes dark, a suspicious sheen telling him she’d been crying. Her heartbeat raced faster with every step he took. When he drew close enough, her hands fell away from her face as she ran forward, his name on her lips as she threw herself in his arms.
“Duncan,” she cried, then sucked back a sobbing breath.
“Emmaline,” he whispered against her ear, burying his face in the warm silk of her hair, filling his arms with her softness and drowning himself in the scent and touch of her.

This, My Dear Friends, is why I read romance.

But, no, Ms. Reynolds isn’t content to stop there. She has to throw one helluva wrench into the story and WTH!!! I was blindsided by this one. Bravo – Well Done!

As an added bonus, we get more lusciousness in the forms of Miguel, Baldwin, Lucas, Louis. GAH – She is such a tease!

This is the third story in the series, and it was just as amazing as the first two!  It has the perfect mix of steam, romance, and suspense.  We get to know Ronin so much better in this story. He is an absolute sweetheart who completely adores Amara.  Who can blame him?  Amara is in a bad situation, but she's fighting hard to get out of it while trying to protect the people she cares about.  He was definitely the protector in the relationship, and it worked well for the two of them.  Lario knows how to write a steamy scene and this story was really sexy without being over the top.  She also manages not to be repetitive which makes each scene even more exciting.

I don't usually identify favorite lines, but I have to in this case since it was so touching.  "Love wasn't something that could be captured or bought, or even earned. It merely was. In one's heart, in their mind. In their soul."

We also meet two new bad guys.  The plot was interesting and suspenseful.  There was a lot of action in the story, and I never quite knew what was going to happen next.   The brothers continue to work together and make some heavy appearances in here along with their lovely ladies.  We also get a nice setup for the next story which I will be anxiously waiting for!

This eBook is to be released Sept. 1st 2010

After being plunged into a chaotic and deceitful society, Maria Guerrero finds comfort in the arms Enrique Torres, a man she believes is innocent of her world. She keeps him ignorant of her inner monster, and the blood oath she took to save her brother's life. Instead she prefers to use their sexual play as an escape from her supernatural world. When her secrets catch up with her, Maria is forced to confess her sins. Will Enrique find it in his heart to forgive her deception? He must, before her vampire master demands that Maria pays him his due. With the help of a disillusioned fey warrior, she convinces Enrique that vampires are real, and danger lurks around every corner.

Enrique can’t allow himself to fall for Maria charms, or he’ll risk revealing secrets of his own -- secrets which would not only scare her, but put his mission in jeopardy. He hopes that by forming a physical connection with the young vampire, he’ll lower her defenses and earn her trust, for only she can help him bring peace to the Immortal Realm. As they play out their sexual fantasies, her true identity is uncovered. On impulse Enrique gives her his trust, and her betrayal hurts him to the core. Now he wants revenge… but at what cost? As the Immortal Realm descends into chaos, Enrique and Maria must choose whether to trust each other again, or fall victims to the dark deceptions that rule their world.

Book is primarily m/f, but does contain one m/f/m scene. There is some light bondage and food play

This is one wicked vampire book! If your looking for a hot vampire book with body possession, betrayal, adventure, hot M/F/M sex and some bondage, a little spanking this is a excellent one to try. I enjoyed reading all the characters even the villain.

Enrique is part of the immortal console. He is human and he knows his lover Maria is vampire, spite her using her magic to hide the fact. You have one power hungry villain, Carlos is using Maria to seduce Enrique, so he can be under his control to make the clan stronger. But what he doesn’t know is Maria love for Enrique is too strong. This story is not all m/f/m, it has one scene and the rest is mostly between the hero and heroine, except one scene, but I not telling how that one came about. Its different and you’ll have to read and find out. Oh ya, there is also use of a water spring (*wicked grin*).

This book receives Top Bite Award

Very unique demon world and a good start for the first of a series. Each demon feeds off of humans fears in different ways. It makes for an interesting storyline. You have 5 hot brothers with their mom as the leader.

Unfortunately for me I just couldn’t get into this book like I really wanted. I wanted to learn more about the heroine Selina and I didn’t like how she just rolled over and believe in the demons and Delius. The story starts out slow but builds more in the middle. Over all its good read, I really liked the brothers and the storyline

A emotional heartfelt story that takes you back to Indians and the wild west. I enjoyed reading this adventure. If you’d like to go back in time with a time hot Indian time traveler name Ethan that takes a white wife and has power of the unknown then give this a try. I enjoyed the cast of characters especially Good-Looking-Woman.

I liked both the hero and heroine they were great to read. The only thing I found wrong is it dragged for me at times. Don’t take this book too lightly, it has some great hardships one is where the heroine Cesca has to stand in the sun for three days, because she helped her brother escape. But this is where Meko (Ethan) Steps up and shows his powers. There is a list of Cheyenne words in the back to make your reading easier
