I am Nightfall.

I am your worst nightmare and your best friend.

I am the keeper of secrets and the teller of lies.

I thought revenge was my only motive.

I was wrong.
House of Ravens continues Scarlett's story as she begins to really embrace her role as Nighfall.  She discovers just how difficult it is to have a secret identity - it's really hard to be a "superhero" and you don't get a lot of sleep.  No glamorization here.

She begins to make new friends in training and there's even a bit of a love interest, but Nighfall once again gets in the way.  This book had a lot of loss in it.  From the idealism that Scarlett has about the world and people in general, to friends, and discovering those hidden agendas that seem to multiply around her.

Her crusade to help Zeniths continues to meet with some very extreme resistance, and she finds that some of her enemies are soooo much closer than she first believed.  There are also some unlikely allies.  The royal family makes for some great side characters and gives the reader a chance to see the other side of life and how other parts of the world are managed.

I'm still blown away by how detailed and exciting the lore behind this series is.  Everything ties together so well and each scene, no matter how small, somehow plays a part in pushing the story forward - so pay attention to all the amazing details.  I can't wait to see what may happen in book three.

I love sex. I used to be a professional Dominatrix by day and a recreational Dom by
night. Now I co-own a sex shop by day. I still do the Dom thing by night, when I can.

So, yeah, I love sex. But I'm not a sub. That's never been me. I like to maintain control in the bedroom. That gets me off.

But when the guy I've been chatting up online as a potential roommate shows up at my condo dripping sex and temptation... let's just say I might be open to trying new things... if his playboy ways don't drive me insane, and if I can do the one thing I've never done for anyone.

Surrender.

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. But when you live here full time... that's not much comfort, is it?

Whipped (Vi's story) is a sexy, full-length, stand-alone romance in the Hitched series. These books can be read in any order, but you might also enjoy Hitched, the first book in this series. Content Warning: This book contains sex, swearing... and did we mention sex? Lots of sex. And abs. And Australian accents.
A fun addition to The Red Shoe Memoirs series.  We first met Vi in book one, and she was a riot.  I loved her - and I love her even more in her own story.  She has temporarily stopped her role as dominatrix to open her own sex toy shop.  And we get a good dose of her personality with the first customer in the book.  I loved the whole introduction.  It had me laughing right off the bat.

Her relationship with Lachlan was an interesting one.  Both have experience using their body in a sexual way, so they seem to have a lot in common.  But Vi doesn't initially see it that way, and Lachlan has to work just a bit to get her to see that he's really interested.  By the way - their third date - epic!  I want a date like that.

The only part that really sort of turned me off were Vi's parents.  With our main characters being so over the top in their personalities, introducing two more that were the same way was just too much for my taste.  I'm hearing that many others loved it though.

There was a very nice ending.  A nice long resolution, which is my favorite kind - I love seeing my people just be together sometimes.  We get o see the gang from book one a bit here and there to help tie the story together, but this really was all about Vi.

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas...

Or it changes your life forever.

He called me "wife."

This man standing naked in front of me. Tall. Dark. Sexy as sin...

He's my husband?

Disjointed images from the night before, the night I can’t entirely remember, float into my mind.

Meeting him in the bar. Sharing tidbits of our lives. I own a company that plans bachelor parties. He’s a pediatric heart surgeon.

We both live in Las Vegas, but we come from very different worlds.

And then I remember that kiss. The way his lips brushed against mine, gentle at first, then harder, deeper, with more urgency.

Sex in the elevator. Hot, forbidden, delicious.

I remember the way he made me feel. The way our bodies fit perfectly together.

But I don’t remember marrying him.

And now, he won’t let me go. Dr. Sexy who saves children for a living. He wants the summer to prove we are meant to be.

I can give him a summer.

But can I give him a lifetime?

*This is a contemporary romance novel with a happily ever after. It does NOT have a cliff-hanger ending.

This romance has all the excitement and drama one would expect to happen to Vegas - beginning with a drunken wedding between two people who don't really know each other.  Well at least Kacie doesn't seem to remember.  Sebastian thinks it's the best thing to ever happen and he sets out to prove to Kacie that he's right.

I really enjoyed the first person telling of this story.  It can be hard to pull off, but if done correctly gives the reader some great insight into the main character.  This story is told by Kacie and she has quite an interesting way of telling it.  I loved her voice and colorful way of phrasing things.  She was a riot and really made you feel what she was feeling.

At first Sebastian seemed way too good to be true - a rich, sexy doctor that's in the career for the right reasons?  Way too good to be true.  But he's not perfect - just really close, and that is what saved him for me.  My heroes have to be at least a little flawed.  I loved that he was willing to give Kacie time to realize her own feeling - but at the same time he wasn't going to try and hide or deny his own.

The setting of Las Vegas was perfect for this story.  I loved the hubbub and bustle and the larger than life personalities.  It's just what I always imaged the place would be like (I've never had a chance to go myself).  Kacie's brother and best-friend play important parts in the story and it looks like perhaps they may be finding their own version of true love soon as well.
