An Earl by Any Other Name by Lauren Smith ~ Release Blitz and Giveaway

AN EARL BY ANY OTHER NAME by Lauren Smith

(August 1, 2017; Forever Yours eBook; $1.99; Sins and Scandals series Book 1)

An earl in the streets, a rogue in the sheets . . .

Leopold Graham, Lord Hampton, was never a man to let propriety stand in the way of his pursuit of pleasure. Hedonism is his only desire in life---until his father's death saddles him with debts that threaten to bankrupt the entire family. Now the only thing that stands between him and utter ruin is marriage to a proper, and preferably wealthy, young lady.

Ivy Leighton is no sweet English rose. Perhaps it's her gypsy roots, but she would rather make a spectacle of her independent spirit than sit quietly on the sidelines. If that means that the only place she'll ever have in society is firmly on the shelf, then so be it. But when Ivy runs into the handsome, rakish Leo who's looking for a respectable, well-bred wife, she can't stop thinking about the troubles they can get into. Now she just has to convince him that a life with her is really what he needs.

Read an excerpt from HIS MOONSTRUCK WOLF:
“Running away already?” The husky masculine voice wrapped around her like a leash seeking purchase.
“Hardly.” She lifted her drink. “I came out to cool off and have a drink. You?”
“I came looking for you.” What a pity he delivered the hope-inspiring-line with such practiced ease. Even knowing he possessed all the right scent markers, declaring him her potential, the smoothness with which he declared he’d come in search of her suggested his goal was more a warm body for the night rather than a heart seeking shelter.
“I see. It doesn’t seem as though you have to look very hard.” She didn’t bother to disguise the challenge in her voice. She didn’t want an operator, and while wolves might be highly charged and very sexual creatures, it didn’t mean she had to accept whatever life had to offer. Mate potential didn’t mean mate acceptance.
“How do you know I haven’t searched the whole of the bayou for you?” Playful flirtation seemed to shimmer within every syllable.
“Because there’s not a speck of dirt on your very shiny shoes.” He was lucky she didn’t snort in his face.
He chuckled then tugged off his filigreed mask. Oh, she could have wished he hadn’t done that. Hugo Ferrar. Really? She wanted to take her wolf out back and shake it. Hugo Ferrar was a Hound, second only to Jerome, and exceptionally well known in the pack—both for his reputation as a fighter as well as a lover,
Though she and he had not crossed paths previously—she wasn’t an idiot. If Jerome was Serafina’s right hand, then Hugo was her left. If she needed it done, Hugo would make it happen. It didn’t matter what the job was, Hugo took them all. For several months, he’d been babysitting the Three Rivers pack. Rumor had it, Serafina tasked him with a new assignment—one which kept him on the move.
Lesley-Anne only knew about the latest because his brother had let it slip. Christopher Ferrara wasn’t supposed to be in the know, but Hugo was his beloved elder brother and he worshiped the ground the Hound walked on.
“Maybe I searched the house and the Quarter.” Though even he winced on the last.
This time Lesley-Anne and didn’t bother to disguise her snort. One hand on her hip, she simply shook her head. “You stepped outside to cool off. When you saw a lady alone,  you thought to yourself, ‘She doesn’t appear attached. I’m home for a bit, so I think I’ll get laid.’” She didn’t hide the disdain in her voice.
“Your teeth are very sharp, pretty one.” Hugo closed the distance between them. Instead of being deterred by the sharpness of her tone, he seemed rather intrigued. “To what do I owe the honor of your ire?”
“To what ire are you referring?” She took another drink, this time draining what was left of her hurricane. She’d need the alcohol to steel herself for this conversation. Her wolf wagged its tail, as desperate as a puppy for attention.
Really? For Hugo? Don’t you think we can do better?
She didn’t want a mate who was always gone, or a mate whose lothario-like reputation with the ladies served as grist for the pack’s rumor mill. In fact, all she really wanted this evening was to celebrate the end of a very fruitful engagement, which led to the mating of Christopher and Rachel, as well as to celebrate the survival of Delta Crescent into a new year. Was that too much ask?
“I get the distinct impression you’re very unhappy to see me.” Hugo set his drink down on the stone balustrade. With the nimble grace of their species, he leapt to sit next to it. A man in a top coats and tails shouldn’t look so comfortable atop a stone railing, yet he could have been lounging in a King Louis XVI chair.
“Not that I like to accuse anyone of paranoia, but worrying about whether or not I approve of you…particularly at our first meeting? That’s a little paranoid.” What Lesley-Anne desperately needed was another hurricane. Or perhaps to return to the party.

Excerpt:
“You’re not going to die on me, are you?”  The voice came from lower, almost directly in front of her this time, and Elise opened her eyes, staring up at a collection of clouds scudding across the blue sky.
“Not yet, I think.”  She struggled to sit, her tired muscles still refusing to obey.
A warm hand caught hers and pulled her forward, and Elise was suddenly presented with the most beautiful eyes she had ever seen.
They were smoky green, the color of pine wreathed in mist, the color of still waters that hid great depths.  They were ringed with blond lashes, set in a strong, rugged face that spoke of hours spent outdoors.  Pale blond hair fell around his ears in careless waves, the ends damp where they brushed his bare shoulders.  Incredible shoulders, wide and powerful, droplets of water sliding over the ridges of muscle to disappear down the front of his chest.
Her mouth went dry, and whatever breath she thought she had caught deserted her once again.
He was crouched before her, a look of concern tempered with a half-smile stamped across his striking features. “Hmmm.  Well, if you die, can I have your horse?” he asked.  “As fine an animal as I’ve seen in a long time.”
“My horse?” she repeated.  Good Lord.  Her wits had completely scattered under that smoky gaze.
He glanced over her head up in the direction of the road.  “One of the boys brought it off the bridge for you.”
Elise struggled to draw a normal breath and formulate a thought.  The man was trying to put her at ease.  It wasn’t his fault that he looked as he did.  It wasn’t his fault her body was threatening to make an utter fool of her because of it.
But clearly, it had been too long since she had invited a man to share her bed because she was shamelessly staring at the way his body moved as he shifted.  Subtle shadows carved their way across his torso, created by lean muscle rippling under golden skin. A scattering of dark blond hair covered his chest and trailed down past his navel.  Her eyes dropped further south, and she let her gaze wander over the sharp ridges of muscle that formed a V over his hips before disappearing into the front of his breeches.  His free hand rested on a powerful thigh, long, capable-looking fingers spread out over the top of his knee.  She imagined what those fingers would feel like against her bare skin.  Because she already knew what his arms had felt like beneath her, the hard strength of his body against hers.
When he was pulling you from the water like a drowned river rat, you fool, not drawing you into a lover’s embrace.
A terrible realization struck her with the completion of that thought.  Without needing to check, she knew her cap was gone.  Her braid had come unpinned, and she could feel the heavy weight of her sodden hair on her back.  A glance at her water-logged clothes plastered to her body confirmed her worst suspicions.  When she’d bound her breasts tightly beneath her loose, baggy shirt, they were unnoticeable, but there was nothing unnoticeable about them now.  The bindings had come loose and slid down to bunch at her waist.  Worse, the threadbare fabric of her worn shirt was almost transparent, and stuck to her skin as it was, she may as well have been wearing nothing.  The curves of her breasts were clearly visible, as were the dark areolas of her peaked nipples.
The man’s eyes were still on her face and not on her chest, which Elise was choosing to interpret as a testament to his chivalry, but no one in their right mind would mistake her for anything other than what she truly was.  A woman dressed as a boy.
“No, you can’t have my horse,” she muttered, attempting to peel her shirt away from her breasts with her free hand.  “I need it to flee a lot of awkward questions.”
The man was watching her again.  “They are going to want to know who you are,” he said quietly, jerking his chin in the direction of the voices beyond them.  The understanding she saw in those incredible eyes made her blink.
She managed a weak smile.  “Do you suppose anyone will notice if I just swim back to where I came from?” She was trying to make her mind work, but like her muscles, it seemed lethargic, her usual ingenuity depleted.  “You can tell them that I was a mermaid.”

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Kelly Bowen grew up in Manitoba, Canada. She attended the University of Manitoba and earned a Master of Science degree in veterinary physiology and endocrinology.
But it was Kelly's infatuation with history and a weakness for a good love story that led her down the path of historical romance.  When she is not writing, she seizes every opportunity to explore ruins and battlefields.
Currently, Kelly lives in Winnipeg with her husband and two boys, all of whom are wonderfully patient with the writing process.  Except, that is, when they need a goalie for street hockey.

Excerpt
“You’re alive.” She froze. The low, gravelly voice of her ghost man caressed her as tangibly as it had all those years ago. She dropped her hands. Hovering inches away were the eyes she’d seen in her dreams every night since. “Oh God.” She scrambled back and tripped over her bag, landing on her ass. “Be calm. You’re safe.” Peace settled over her as if he’d taken her anxiety away with those words. Still, she inched away from his disembodied eyes. Caution had kept her alive in the face of a lifetime of evil. It didn’t matter if she’d felt as if she’d known him for ages. She’d learned years ago, nothing was as it seemed. Those with the ability to use glamour could create illusions out of thin air. She settled on bent legs and studied the apparition for a clue as to whether he was a figment of her imagination or not. The oval surrounding the spectral display showed tan skin, ridiculously long lashes and dark eyebrows. Her pulse kicked up. Excitement, desire, fear—she wasn’t sure what caused it. She only knew she couldn’t look away. “You.” She swallowed hard. She still couldn’t believe her eyes. Couldn’t deny the sight either. “It’s you.” “Yes. It is.” A long moment passed where they held each other’s gazes. So many times, she’d fantasized about what she would say or do if she ever reconnected with him. None of the scenarios fit the pregnant silence stretching between them. She let them slip through her fingers and asked the first question that came to her mind. “What’s your name?” It had always bothered her not having one. “I am Calan. Yours?” Calan. She let his name settle over her heart. “Mine is Harley.” “Harley.” Her name spoken in his deep voice sounded sexy, something she never thought her unusual name could be. Finally, he released a shaky breath she felt skim over her cheek. She pressed her palm to the sensitive skin to hold the warmth close. “You never returned to me, Harley.” Raul’s words that night had confused and scared her. She hadn’t known what to believe. Or who. “I ran just like you told me to.” “I also told you to come back.” She’d tried. Raul had followed her. Attacked her. She glanced at her hands that had once been covered in blood. Raul’s blood. She lowered her gaze and prayed Calan didn’t see the elation in her eyes the memory brought. It had felt good to hurt Raul. That had scared her most of all, and it was the reason she’d stayed away. “Yes.” She turned her head, unable to look into his eyes. “You did.”

AboutTheAuthor
A true romantic at heart, Nancy Corrigan is convinced there’s a knight in shining armor for every woman (or man), but you won’t find damsels in distress in her stories. She adores pairing alpha heroes with women strong enough to match them and bring them to their knees. She also enjoys flipping the traditional roles in romances because her motto is—love and people should never be forced to conform to anyone’s norm.
She holds a degree in chemistry and has worked in research but now focuses on ensuring quality. She considers it the perfect outlet for her as she’s the first to admit she has some OCD tendencies. It carries over into her writing life too. While engrossed in a novel, she has a habit of forgetting to eat and sleep. Fortunately, she’s married to her own knight in shining armor who understands her oddities and loves her anyway. They reside in Pennsylvania with their three children, dog, snake and guinea pigs. Her other interests include tattoos, animals, classic cars and all things spooky and sexy.

In the Company of Wolves by Paige Tyler - Spotlight Tour and Giveaway

Title: In the Company of Wolves (SWAT #3)
Author: Paige Tyler
Release Date: December 1st, 2015
Genre: Paranormal Romance, Romantic Suspense

He opened his mouth to order her to drop the MP5 she had aimed at him, but nothing would come out. It was like she’d robbed him of the ability to speak. Shooting her wasn’t an option, though. And the idea of arresting her didn’t make him feel any better.

There's a new gang of criminals in town who are organized and ruthless in the extreme. When Eric Becker, along with the rest of the Dallas SWAT team, ends up in the middle of a shootout, he immediately senses werewolves-a lot of them. Turns out, the new bad guys are a pack of wolf shifters.

In a spray of gunfire, Becker comes face-to-face with the most gorgeous woman he's ever seen. Becker does the logical thing. He hides her and leaves the scene with the rest of his team.

Jayna Winston has no idea why that SWAT guy helped her, but she's glad he did. Ever since she and her pack mates got mixed up with those Eastern European mobsters, everything had pretty much fallen apart.

So what's a street-savvy thief like Jayna going to do with a hot alpha-male wolf who's a police officer?

SWAT (Special Wolf Alpha Team) Series
Hungry Like the Wolf
Wolf Trouble
In the Company of Wolves

Paige Tyler:
Everyone loves reading about alpha males, right? But of course, you can’t have a single dimensional character that’s just hardcore alpha all the time. It comes off as flat or just plain irritating. Most of the time you want to let your alpha have a lighter side, just to keep things interesting. One of my favorite fun loving heroes from popular culture is Han Solo!

This on-the-run-from-everyone bad boy of the Star Wars series was played to perfection by Harrison Ford. He’s got the look and physical size to play the alpha, and the way he wears his blaster slung low on his hip makes you think about the gunfighters from the old west. But Han Solo also has that casual relaxed attitude he wears like a tight-fitting T-shirt just before violence breaks out. Think about how cool he is as he faces the bounty hunter in the cantina scene. And as prone to violence as Han Solo can be, he loves to crack jokes with just about everyone, especially when things are at their most dire. We all remember the line, “Don’t get cocky, Kid!” I have to admit, while everyone considered Luke Skywalker the “hero” of the series, I always thought Han Solo was much hotter.

An Excerpt
One of the Albanians shouted something from the front of the store in his own language, following it up with an order to the omegas to stop wasting time and get the damn safe open. Becker ground his teeth. He should have simply kidnapped Jayna and her entire pack. Then he could have just walked into the loft and shot every one of these idiots—twice.

“Watch them,” he told Jayna, motioning to the security guard and two women. Turning, he left the break room and jogged down the hallway toward the back of the building.

“Get them back on the safe!” the Albanian driver shouted at him from the front room.

Oh yeah, sure. Stop two morons from raping a woman and get them back on task. What the hell was he—a daycare worker for omega werewolves?

Shit. If this was how criminals behaved, it was no wonder he and his SWAT teammates took so many of them down. They were too stupid to live. Then again, maybe this was how Gage felt some days.
The SWAT pack could occasionally be a little stupid too. Becker’s current predicament was a shining example of that.

The omega standing guard in the hallway outside the manager’s office glared at him. “We got this. Go back and babysit the old folks.”

What a complete ass, Becker thought as he walked up and punched the guy in the face. The werewolf flew backward and bounced off the wall, bleeding like crazy from a broken nose as he fell to the floor in a dazed heap. He was still moving around though, reminding Becker that it was as hard to knock out an omega as it was to knock out an alpha. He’d have to remember that.

Becker strode into the office to find the store manager on the floor beside her desk, the other omega—the one who liked to play with his platinum medallion—leaning over her menacingly. He’d torn her blouse and was telling her all the horrible things he planned to do to her if she didn’t open the safe. The idiot was so intent on threatening her that he didn’t realize Becker was there until he yanked the guy to his feet and spun him around, then smashed the back of his head into the nearest hard object he could find—the safe panel. Becker pounded his head into the safe a few times before letting him fall to the floor. The asshole was definitely out cold.

Becker turned and looked at the shop manager. She cringed away from him, terror in her eyes as she tried to hold the tatters of her blouse together. He really wished he could pull up his ski mask. Seeing him like this definitely wasn’t helping.

“Do you have an alarm button in this room?” he asked in his softest, least intimidating voice.
The woman stared at him for a moment like he was insane, then motioned under the desk with a shaking hand.

“Would you mind pushing it for me?” he asked.

Now she looked really confused. But she slowly reached under the desk and poked around until a loud alarm started ringing.

“Thanks.” Becker bent down to take the platinum medallion out of the omega’s vest and slip it into his pocket. “By the way, that diamond merchant you bought from in New York sold you out to a really bad guy. You probably don’t want to buy from him anymore.” Turning, he jogged out of the room and down the hallway to the front of the store. “Time to leave. Moron hit the alarm.”

Jayna was heading his way in a flash, the two Albanians right behind her.

“What about the safe?” the driver asked.

Becker shook his head. “It’s a no-go. Our guy smashed the keypad.”

The Albanians muttered something in their native language and shook their heads, as if they’d seen this coming. They stepped over the omega who was still rolling around in a daze on the floor in the hallway and raced out the back door. In the distance, sirens echoed in the air. About damn time. Becker motioned Jayna out.

“What about him?” she asked, jerking her head at the werewolf still trying to get to his knees.

Becker nudged the omega with his boot, pushing him back down. The guy looked like he really didn’t want to bother getting up this time.

“What about him?” Becker said, holding the door open for her.

Excerpt from Now you See Her:
Tia wanted to bolt up from the couch and run as far and as fast as she could from the three men. But

she didn’t move a muscle. In fact, she wasn’t sure she could. Her body was starting to seizure but her

muscles didn’t appear to move. Energy seizures? Was such a thing possible?

People with abilities seemed to have two systems. One physical and one energetic. If a person could get

sick on the physical system, in theory it should then be possible to get “sick” on the energetic level.

Great.

Just what she needed. Was there an equivalent to cancer on the physical system? ’Cause it would be so

typical of her to be the first one. Damn.

Deciding she’d had enough of being stared at, she shifted to a sitting position then stood up – a little

shaky but at least she was vertical. She studied the room. As far as she could tell she was still in Dean’s

house, but everything was foggy. As if she was looking through a light rain.

“Where’s Dean?”

“Right in front of you.” Dean’s voice came through a weird cloud.

She rubbed her eyes but she still couldn’t see him clearly. “I can’t see you very well,” she muttered.

Instead of a shocked exclamation, a warm hand landed on her shoulder, grounding her.

Instantly, her vision cleared. He stood in front of her, a worried look on his face.

She smiled. “Thanks, now I can see you.”

“I didn’t do anything, but you’re welcome.” His smile gentled, but his gaze narrowed as he studied her

features. She could feel the power of his concern. It was…disconcerting.

“I wish I woke feeling like I’d had some rest. Instead, every time I wake up I feel frazzled, frayed at the

edges. Terrible feeling,” she muttered. She should go to the washroom, wash her face, maybe it would

wake her up, but she didn’t want to move.

Dean stepped back, letting his hand fall away and as if a connection had broken she suddenly felt

worse. Weird. She felt better touching him.

Still, she could hardly hold his hand all the time. Besides, she was better than before she’d collapsed.

She excused herself and used the facilities. Afterwards she tried to run her fingers through her hair.

Thankfully there was mouthwash in a cupboard. Stefan had brought her meager belongings from the

hospital, but apparently toiletries had not been among them.

Finally, she pushed open the door and walked out to the living room and to the men who waited for

her. She heard Dean say something to her but where he stood was only a blur of energy.

Turning toward the sound of Stefan’s voice, she realized he was no longer as clear as he’d been either.

She whispered, hating the fear snaking through her, “There’s something wrong with me.”

Then she fell to her knees.

The men rushed to her side.

But not in time.

She toppled face forward to the floor.
