ARC Spell Bound (Darkly Enchanted) by Stephanie Julian

Title  Spell Bound (Darkly Enchanted)
Author Stephanie Julian
Source: Requested review
Genre: Paranormal romance- Magic
Length: 158 pgs
Release date: Sept. 27, 2011

She’s running from fate…

Shea Tedaldi is the only thing standing between her six-year-old brother and the men who killed their parents. Descendents of the ancient Etruscan magical race, Shea and her brother keep powerful secrets that make them the targets of the evil Malandante. They’ve been looking for a safe haven but the bad guys are gaining on them and Shea needs a hero, a guardian who won’t falter in the face of danger…

He’s looking for the key to break the spell…

Gabriel Borelli is a warrior born to protect the Etruscan witches living under a curse. He’s dedicated to breaking the spell and avenging the murder of his father by the Malandante. He won’t let anything—or anyone—get in his way. Not even the one woman who may hold the key to his quest…and his heart.

Stephanie Julian sets up a magical world that will leave you wanting more. But I have to admit I was confused (I say this was totally my fault somehow) for the first 2 chapters as I keep plugging along I found things were falling in place and then I couldn’t get enough. I found a great story along with a great romance. There were a couple of things that stood out. One was Stephanie packed a lot in for 158 pgs. The other was this is not a quick romance as you see in these shorter books. No, these two set a slow pace and it ended up making a better read all the way around for me.

I enjoyed reading the characters and I loved the tension between Shea and Gabriel. One holds the key to break a spell while the other holds the key to open a heart.

I loved the magic and the way Stephanie brought the events back around from the prologue, plus added some surprises in.

If your one who has never tried Stephanie’s books this would be a great start. You might just find yourself another author that you can’t get enough of. I can’t wait to see what comes next….

Moonlight Temptation by Stephanie Julian

Title: Moonlight Temptation
Series: Lucani Lovers Series Book Four
Author: Stephanie Julian
Source: Requested Review
Genre: Erotic/Paranormal Romance
Authors Website: www.stephaniejulian.com/
Format: PDF
Length: Novella

Evie Simmons has magical powers she can’t control, she’s living in a house that isn’t hers, and her best friend is a seventeen-year-old werewolf. It’d be hilarious if it weren’t just so damn depressing. Add in the sexy shifter she can’t keep out of her mind and his hot-as-hell friend and it’s a recipe for disaster.

Dr. Dane Dimitriou knows Evie has had a hard time adjusting to her new life as part of the Etruscan magical community—almost as difficult as his denial of his feelings for her have been. And he’s got the perfect cure—his best friend, Ryan Maguire. Easygoing Ryan is the complete opposite of stick-up-his-ass Dane. He can act as a buffer. Dane can get close, but not too close. Yeah, good luck with that.

Together, these sexy men may be just what the doctor ordered for Evie. And the doctor himself may discover the cure for what ails him has been waiting all along.(less)

Dee's Thoughts:

Evie is a survivor. Now she faces the challenge of controlling her powers, but her biggest challenge is excepting what two gorgeous alpha males want to give her, themselves.

Dane is a control freak, know it all and he is completely in love with Evie. However, Dane feels his dark, rough and sexy personality is not all Evie needs. Ryan is fun, easy going and sexy as hell. Dane knows his best friend has the rest of what Evie needs. Together they make the play to have Evie for themselves, forever.

I found this novella HOT! It was to short though, I needed more. The story line was excellent and the romance was sigh worthy. However, I find Evie very selfish for keeping both men for herself. Lol!

FYI: There is some explicit m/f/m action that may cause excessive sweating. ;-)

Guest post and giveaway with romance author Stephanie Julian

Please welcome author Stephanie Julian. Stephanie talks about her hot new release What a Goddness Wants. (Oh my, you need this book it's hot!)

When I first sat down to write WHAT A GODDESS WANTS, I had a really good idea of what Tessa was like.
She was the Etruscan Goddess of the Sun. She was bright, sweet. Sunny. As part of her duties, she was also a goddess of childbirth, so add nurturing to her list of attributes. She had to be blonde, her hair bright, her eyes the blue of a clear sky. Perfect.
Now, what about her hero? Didn’t such a sweetheart deserve a loving, easy-going man?
What would be the fun in that? Romance is built on conflict and Caligo the Cimmerian thrives on conflict.
Born in the mist and shadow of Cimmeria, which lies between the planes of existence, Cal is a half-breed. His father is full-blooded Cimmerian but his mother...isn’t. His father actually kidnapped her from the sun plane to live with him in Cimmeria. So I guess you could say his life started in conflict.
Luckily for Cal, his parents fell in love but Cal didn’t exactly have an easy time growing up. The Cimmerians aren’t all that warm and fuzzy. In fact, Cimmerians are pretty damn hard. They don’t feel pain or heat or cold. Over the centuries, they’ve become known as bad-ass warriors with no hearts, the men you pay to get you out of a tight spot.
When Tessa needs a man to save her, a friend sends her to Cal.
And from their first meeting, Cal and Tessa’s relationship is full of sharp tongues and even sharper wit.

Excerpt:
“I tell you to do something, you do it. No questions asked.”
Tessa kept her eyes trained on Cal as he drove his Jeep Wrangler down a dirt road in the woods. Actually, “road” was too kind to describe what was little more than a deer trail. The Wrangler barely fit between the trees, and branches whipped by at terrorizing speed. Her fingers had cramped from holding the roll bar so tightly.
She watched was watching him because she couldn’t bear to look out the front window. She didn’t want to see the tree they were surely going to hit if he didn’t slow down.
So she focused on her savior. She was so grateful to him for saving her life back there that she was willing to put up with anything he told her.
But if he didn’t slow down, she might just have to curl up in a ball on the floor and cry like a baby.
“Tess, hey. You listening to me?”
“Yes. Yes, I am.” She had to yell over the whistle of the wind. “I do whatever you tell me to.”
Cal must have heard something in her voice he didn’t like because he turned, for a brief and terrifying second, to look at her.
Great Goddess Uni, please don’t let us die.
“You look a little green around the gills, babe. You sure you’re okay?”
“Yes, I’m fine. Please, just keep your eyes on the… path.”
He laughed, his expression transforming with the accompanying smile, and her breath caught.
Damn, the man was quite gorgeous. And that was saying something coming from a goddess who’d had her pick of beautiful men and gods over the millennia.
But Caligo wasn’t her typical pretty boy. He was young, yes, but he was rougher around the edges than any other man she’d ever wanted.
His broken nose only added to his charm. Same for his mouth. His bottom lip was a straight slash, yet his upper curved into a bow. And his eyes… that gray should be cold, but she went hot all over when he slid his gaze her way.
Which it did again, making her heart pound—and not in fear.
“Babe, I’ve got this path memorized like the back of my hand. I know every rut, every turn, every tree along the way. We’re not gonna crash.”
Surprisingly, his words eased her fear. A bit. “How can you be so sure?”
“Because I haven’t yet.”
“There’s always a first time,” she muttered under her breath.
Obviously, he heard her because he laughed again, shook his head, and pressed a little harder on the gas pedal.
They drove in silence for a few minutes, while she continued to study him. His hair was military short on the sides and longer on the top, where it hung down into bangs, the color a deep black but, shot through with strands of pure silver. He couldn’t be more than twenty-five so she had to wonder why he was going gray already. Probably the high-stress life he led—
They bumped over something, the tires leaving the road for a few terrifying moments, and Tessa closed her eyes. But not before watching Caligo wrench the steering wheel to the right. She froze, certain they were about to head over a cliff.
Then relief allowed her to draw in a deep breath as she realized they’d turned onto a paved road.
Thank you, Great Mother Goddess.
“So where are we going?” She finally dared to open her eyes and look at her surroundings. This The road didn’t look familiar, but then she wasn’t overly familiar with this part of Berks County.
“To see Salvatorus, find out if he’s learned anything else. He must’ve had a reason for sending you to me specifically. I want to know what it is.”
“Other than the fact that you’re Cimmerian?”
“Yeah, other than that.”
“What else could it be?”
He slid a glance her way. “Haven’t gotten that far.”
He must have seen her the fear surge though her. “Relax, Godd ess. I’ve done this a few times. I’m good at thinking on my feet.”
“Please, call me Tessa.”
“What’s with the name, anyway? I thought you said it was Thesan.”
She snorted. “Says the man named Darkness.”
Cal shrugged, though he’d always wondered if his dad had been trying too hard when he’d slapped that name on him. “I never got a choice, Your Highness. Cimmerian males are named by their fathers when we come of age, usually around thirteen or so.”
“What do they call you before then?”
HalfbloodHalf-blood. Inferior. Unworthy. “‘Son of’ whatever your father’s name is.”
“And you were ‘Son of…’”
“Diritas.”
In his peripheral vision, he saw her mouth drop open. “Your dad’s name is Cruelty?”
“Yeah.”
She shook her head. “Wow, you’re a happy people, aren’t you?”
“Coming This coming from the Goddess goddess of a pantheon that demanded ritual sacrifice.”
Her cute little nose wrinkled. “We did not demand it. I personally preferred my offerings alive, twenty years old and very much male, thank you very much. Besides, that was a long time ago. We’ve evolved since then.”

What do you get when you mix an Etruscan Goddess and a Cimmerian warrior together? You get loads of trouble and lots of hot sexy fun. What a Goddess Wants is a fascinating hot book and one no erotic paranormal romance reader should miss. I couldn’t put it down. I loved all the mythology and fun Stephanie added to this book. The storyline has adventure, danger, suspense and lots of animalistic sex *still fanning self* (there’s one scene has anal intercourse.) This book has some fantastic mythological characters that Stephanie can run on for a while.

I enjoyed both Tessa and Caligo. Caligo just got burned from another Goddess, so when he finds Tessa in his home a sleep he never thought about getting in deep with another goddess. But one taste of Tessa he just can’t help himself he hast to give her what she wants. Tessa is running for her life and need some help to keep her alive ,so she turns to a friend that leads her to Caligo. She has lived a very long time and no one has ever temped her or raised her heat like Caligo, but can this hero keep her safe enough or will she loose her life no matter what he does. Oh yeah, you have to read to see how deep these two can get into. Stephanie is known for her surprises in a story, so be prepared for some shocking mouth dropping reading. Now, I have to go bug her to see who is in the next book. So get this one on your list and read it ASAP.

*Fans self* This was one hot book, so you guys know what that means. LOL

Guest Author, Stephanie Julian talks about her new release Size Matters!!

Please welcome author Stephanie Julian. She is here with us today to talk about her new erotic paranormal romance release of Size Matters, so if you have any questions about Size matters or any other books she has written please feel free to ask.

Stephanie
As paranormal romance writer, it’s probably no surprise that I love paranormal TV shows.
When I was five, I had a babysitter who introduced me to “Star Trek.” It’s the first TV show I remember watching and I’ve never stopped.
As a kid, I couldn’t get enough of “In Search of” and “Kolchak: The Night Stalker.” As a teenager, I fell in love with Vincent from “Beauty and the Beast.”
“The X-Files” confounded me and Fox Mulder made me believe. I mourn “Lost” for its intricate mythology and Matthew Fox’s tortured Jack Shepherd and “Battlestar Galactica” for Edward James Olmos’ stalwart Admiral Adama, the Romeo-Juliet love story of Helo and Athena and for its ability to address real-life challenges in a sci-fi setting.
I miss “Moonlight” for Alex O’Loughlin’s conflicted Mick and Jason Dohring’s cool Josef. Every now and then I pull out my “Farscape” discs and fall head over heels once more for Ben Browder’s smart-ass, ultra-cool Crichton. And who can resist the sexy banter of Capt. Jack Harkness in “Torchwood”? Certainly not me.
Joss Whedon’s “Buffy, The Vampire Slayer” gave us Angel and “Firefly” has Mal, the best space captain EVER. Mal fits Nathan Fillion as well as that brown duster.
The summer season is ending and so is “Eureka” (I adore Colin Ferguson’s sweet, hunky cop) and “Haven” (slow-building darkness, Stephen-King quirk and Lucas Bryant’s mysterious, wounded charm).
But fall brings with it the Salvatore brothers of “The Vampire Diaries,” the Winchester boys of “Supernatural,” Louis Ferreira’s conflicted Col. Young of “Stargate Universe,” and the heart-breaking, father-son dynamic between Peter and Walter Bishop of “Fringe.”
Noticed a pattern yet?
I tend to fall for the guy. Not that I don’t hold a special place in my heart for Uhuru or Buffy, Starbuck, Aeryn or Gwen (and if you can place that last character in her show without looking it up, you come sit by me). But when I connect with a TV show, it’s typically because of the guy. Make me fall in love and I’m hooked.
The same goes for books. If the hero is someone I can love, no matter how far-fetched the story, you’ve got me hooked.
In SIZE MATTERS, yes, the hero is Bigfoot. But he’s not a huge hairy apeman. Tim Sattazahn is gorgeous, hot and oh, so very…big. All over.
He rescues the damsel in distress (though Carrie won’t appreciate you calling her a damsel and she’s never in distress) and, well, you’ll have to read the story to get the rest.

Size Matters
Book Description:
Carrie Benton’s got the best job in the world working as a reporter for the Weekly News Journal. Chupacabra picnicking at the Jersey Shore? Check. Aliens in the White House? Absolutely. Bigfoot stalking the forests of northern Pennsylvania? Well, okay…but Bigfoot is so Left Coast.
Tim Sattazahn can’t believe his luck. The six-foot redhead who crashed into his forest during a snowstorm is gorgeous, funny and hot for him. Everything would be perfect except for the fact that she’s looking for Bigfoot.

And, unfortunately for Tim, she found him…

Have you ever thought Bigfoot could be sexy with his massive size? (Not me for sure;) and don’t forget the size of the feet Oh my, ! You ladies know what they say about the feet size, so yes! Size Matters. This book was refreshing sexy creative and fun. You get a Bigfoot, a Yeti and a Fairy. I do hope Stephanie writes more. This is a quick read, but don’t let that fool you. The author doesn’t leave anything out. So if your in need of a quick hot paranormal read around 80 pages, this one just might make your day.

This story is really short and I don’t want to spoil to much. So here is just a little to get you started.
Carrie has a car wreck and passes out, the next thing she knows she is bed with a huge naked man, but there is something else huge and hard. Can she resist something that size? You have to read and find out *wicked grin*

This was really a sweet romance between Tim and Carrie. I loved the tension that was set up between them when she finds out what Tim is and how they got back together. Then again I get tired of the guy taking the lead all the time, so it was really refreshing to read a heroine going to get what she wants.

7 days of Erotica Summer Heat! Day #1 Stepahnie Julian interview and giveaway

Please give a warm welcome to author Stephanine Julian. I love Stephanie's paranromal ebooks, if you haven't tired them please do!!

Hello Stephanie, I am so happy to have your here with us for this erotica event. Since you are the first author, would you tell us a little about why you chose to write erotic?

Stephanie-The easy answer is that's what I love to read erotic romance. Sex is a huge part of romance, whether it's the build up to the actual lovemaking or ten pages of nitty gritty, down and dirty tangling in the sheets or against the wall or on the floor or the backseat of a car. Explicit love scenes can reveal so much about character. A good love scene can make your breath catch in your chest and your thighs clench. I want the reader to experience those same sensations. I want to elicit an emotional response and a good love scene will do that.

Laurie-Your erotics are paranormal, do you ever think you’d write a different genre? If so what would it be?

Stephanie-Actually, I have written in a different genre. My first two published books were sweet contemporaries written under the name Stephanie Scott for Avalon Books. Very, very different from what I'm writing now. I'm also writing an erotic contemporary that I hope my agent will be able to sell.

Laurie-What’s your favorite erotic passage out of one of your books? I hope you don’t have more than one LOL.

Stephanie-Wow, that's a tough one. Hmm, if it have to pick just one, I'm going to say Kyle and Tam's first love scene in "Kiss of Moonlight." I have a real soft spot for Kyle. But I also love the scene in "Seduced by Two," my first ménage, where Nica, Jensen and Tanner are playing Guitar Hero...but only until Nica seduces them into putting down their guitars.

Laurie-Can you tell us a little about what you're working on next?

Stephanie-I've got a few things going. I'm finishing "What A Goddess Wants," the first book in the Forgotten Goddesses series coming from Sourcebooks Casablanca next summer. These books are part of my Etruscan world and features the Etruscan Goddesses who are feeling a little obsolete after so many millennia. I'm also finishing revisions on a new short book for Ellora's Cave, "Size Matters." This is not Etruscan but it's fun, sexy and just a little off-beat. I'm also working on the next book in my Lucani Lovers series for EC. No title yet but this will be Evie's story.

Laurie-What do you have more of shoes or purses?

Stephanie-Ooh, that's a dead heat. I have a thing for purses. I'm always looking for just the right one, which I never find. I'm the same way with shoes. I know my husband always rolls his eyes when I bring a new purse or a new pair home so I must have way too many.

Please if you would give us a sizzling hot male picture of your choice.
I have a thing for rocks stars. Synyster Gates from Avenged Sevenfold totally does it for me. Watching his hands as he plays guitar... Oh yeah. And when he smiles... Sigh.

Excerpt KISS OF MOONLIGHT
by Stephanie Julian

When his mouth descended this time, she tasted the difference. In the heat of his mouth, in the way his hand cupped her head and forced her to bend to his will.
She followed his every lead, more than happy to give herself over to him because he made her feel alive.
With his mouth still on hers, he picked her up again and began to move as her legs wrapped around his waist. The house fell into shadow the farther away from the kitchen they got, and when he opened the door to what she assumed was his bedroom then closed it behind him, darkness settled around them.
Kyle set her on the bed and moved away, making her draw in a sharp breath when she realized she couldn’t see a thing.
"Hey, babe, it’s okay," His voice soothed from the dark. "Just give me a sec."
A rustle sounded and then moonlight spilled into the room, revealing Kyle’s outline on the other side of the bed.
He looked tall and broad and he should have been menacing. But all Tam felt was a fierce and raging desire.
Rising onto her knees, she moved across the bed to him, grabbed his t-shirt by the hem and began pulling it up and off his body. He had to bend slightly for her to pull it over his head and when she did, he stole a quick kiss before straightening.
Her lips curved in a smile at the electric pleasure of that small touch. But her heart raced at her first glance at his hard, muscled chest, lightly covered with dark hair. Her hands lifted to his pecs and rested there, drawing in the extreme heat of his body.
She felt his chest rise and fall in an ever-increasing pattern. She loved knowing she affected him just as much as he affected her. And wondered how much it was going to take to push him away from the restraint she felt in his tight muscles.
She didn’t want him thinking about what had happened to her before. She wanted him to want her so badly he couldn’t help but surrender to her.
Leaning closer, she put her lips around one flat male nipple, just below the stylized tattoo of a sun, and drew the little nub into her mouth. Kyle sucked in a deep breath as she flicked her tongue against his flesh before lightly scraping it between her teeth.
One of his hands threaded through her hair, holding her to him and she felt a slight burn on her scalp when she moved her lips to work the other nipple.
Her hands slid down his hot, silky skin to his waist where her fingers slid along his waistband before forcing the button through its hole and releasing the zipper.
His cock practically fought free of his shorts and she felt the heat coming off that thick stalk of flesh against her stomach. As his shorts fell to the floor, her hands hesitated for seconds before finally wrapping around him.
Tam had been with a couple other guys before but none had been as impressively built as Kyle.
His cock wasn’t obscenely large but felt thicker than she’d ever had. She pulled away from her ministrations to his nipples so she could look down and see it.
Beautiful was the first word that came to mind. In the moonlight, she couldn’t truly see color but the shape of him was gorgeous. Her fingers didn’t meet around the base and the tip bulged, the thick vein on the underside pulsing.
Cupping one hand around his tight balls, she stroked his cock with the other. His skin stretched tight over the core, sleek hot silk over iron. She lost herself in the feel of him as she smoothed her hand up and down, from root to tip. Moving closer, she bent until she could brush the burning hot tip against her tight nipple.
The sensation jolted through her, making her gasp. She’d never had a man’s cock rubbed against her breasts before, had never known how arousing it could be.
The silky heat scrambled her thoughts, made her forget what she’d been aiming to do.
Oh yeah. She’d been going down on him.
But she’d never given a man a blowjob before either. She didn’t want to do anything wrong.
As if he’d read her mind, Kyle’s voice rasped out a harsh plea. "Will you suck me, baby? Please. I want your mouth on me."
She swore all the air in the room evaporated and her chest tightened but not in pain.
Leaning even farther, she let her lips brush across the tip, Kyle’s strangled breaths teasing her ears. On the next pass, she let her tongue swipe across that hot flesh, his taste exploding on her tongue like spice. Her pussy began to throb. She wanted him to thrust into her sex, hard and deep, but first she wanted to suck him.
Opening her mouth wide, she enveloped the tip, so soft and yet so hard. Then she let her mouth sink down his shaft until he hit her throat. Not really knowing what to do, she let instinct guide her into a rhythm of pulling back and taking him in.
With every suck on his flesh, she felt powerful. She felt almost whole. Like she hadn’t in months. Maybe ever.

Sexual SMOKING HOT!
Second book in the Lucain lovers series just as the quite a bit of action and lot’s of hot sex, but this one is a Ménage M/F/M. Nic and Duke are hot wolf shifters that loves one woman Tira, but they can’t have her because she has visions of the future and when she touches Nic she sees his death, so they all love each other from afar, doesn’t seem far does it? Tira has loved them since the age of 8 years old. After having sex with Duke and the way he acts, Tira is fed up! so one day she takes matter in her own hands, she asks for three nights with the both of them and only get’s one, but as you guessed it this will come with a price.

This is a good quick hot read. I have to hand it to Stephanie she really writes good ménage’s, she doesn’t leave you confused with who is who and who is doing what and she writes it sizzling hot. My only down side I had was Duke, he was on my last nerves before he calmed down, it crazy what jealousy will do to you. I really liked Tira mom and Cat also makes an appearance in this book to help out.

Sexual HOT!
Kiss of Moonlight is a quick warm sexy read. Tamara had a bad experience where she lived and moved into her great-grandfather place she inherited to get way for a fresh start, but what she found is two wolves that came to visit her at separate times not knowing they would be in her life forever.

Kyle is much older than Tamara, but when he came to check on her in his wolf form(as his daughter wanted) he founds Tamara spilling her guts about her life to a him and it melts his hart. The next thing he knew his daughter invited Tamara to a cookout this is were the adventure begins. Kyle has a secret (its not only him being a werewolf ) and he has to take matters in his hands to help Tamara.

Kyle’s daughter Cat is wonderful you’ll fall for her alone in this book. I love the way she is written in for her to help her dad find love, you don’t read that in to many books. I hope to see Cat have her own book in this series
