STOLEN DREAMS
The Lingering Spirit ~ Book One
February 19, 2011
Lives have been lost―dreams stolen, but love carves a path to hope.
Tess Jennings has the ability to see and talk to spirits. On a daily basis, they harass and annoy her to save their souls. Sometimes she helps, other times she ignores them, but one ghost will give her no choice. Kipp McGowan, a cop with the Memphis Police Department, uses his ghostly charms to gain her attention and forces her to expose herself to his partner.
As she's pulled into the five year old cold case of Hannah Reid she wants no part of, she finds herself in more than one precarious situation. But that's the least of her worries―Tess begins to have a serious problem on her hands. Kipp might be dead, but he's drop-dead gorgeous and she's beginning to forget that he's a ghost.
Murder and corruption has brought Tess and Kipp together. But as her feelings for Kipp deepen, she suspects she just signed herself up for a one-way ticket to the nut house, and can only hope, straitjackets come in a size four.

I was stunned as I was reading Stolen Dreams this book was nothing what I was expecting at all. Its’ filled with emotions and great characters. I couldn’t read fast enough, I had to find out what was going to happen between a ghost and the ghost seer. As I was reading I could see how all of this was going to play out in my head I was really felling it until I got to the end and found I was wrong and I was also left FREAKING HANGING….. Ugh, this is still me after 2 days.
I NEED THE NEXT BOOK NOW!! Hand it over STACEY!!
Yes, the hero (the ghost) and heroine (the seer) are still together, but they are abruptly cut off as Stacey leaves you hanging with thought’s rolling around in your head on how this all is still going to play out. You may think this is bad, it really not, when an author can write a book and leave you not only stunned, but in awe with their writing, well that’s a good thing to me. My problem is I like closer and this book just didn’t give me that, so I tend to whine about it for days. I am pathetic I know LOL.
Now, that I got that out of the way. I loved the story and the romance between Kipp and Tess is great. Of course, the sexual tension is at an all-time high because these two just can get it on with Kipp being a ghost. You do get one very hot dream that almost seams real. LOL I must admit it sound creepy, but this book never came across anyway like that to me. The murder case is very good and it also kept me guessing the whole time. I recommend to people who can stand a good continuing ghost series with plenty of sexual tension.

Mistletoe at Midnight by LB Gregg
Owen McKenzie has traveled to Vermont to spend an old-fashioned Christmas with his family when he finds himself staying at the same inn as his first love. Owen is disconcerted to realize he's still attracted to Caleb Black but refuses to pursue him. Caleb left him once, and Owen's not going down that road again.
Caleb is ready for a second chance with Owen and gets it when fate and the matchmaking McKenzies conspire to strand the two men in a rustic cabin during a snowstorm on Christmas Eve. Can Caleb convince Owen to rekindle their romance so they can stop spending their holidays apart?
Nine Lights Over Edinburgh by Harper Fox
Detective Inspector James McBride is riding high on the belief that he's about to bust a human-trafficking ring. But just five days before Christmas, his unorthodox methods catch up with him and his world comes crashing down.
McBride tries to concentrate on his new day job as security for the visiting Israeli ambassador. He even starts to feel a renewed sense of self-worth when the leader of the Israeli team, the aristocratic Tobias Leitner, takes a bullet for him in the line of duty. But he can't forget the trafficking case, especially when his investigations result in the kidnapping of his own daughter! McBride has no one to turn to for help-no one, except Toby.
Can these two very different men work together to bring about a holiday miracle-and heal one another's heart in the process?
I Heard Him Exclaim by Z.A. Maxfield
Who Likes a Skinny Santa?
Steve Adams's heart hasn't been in the Christmas spirit ever since doctors put a stent in it and ordered him to clean up his act. No longer filling out his Santa suit or allowed to make merry, he's forgoing the holidays this year and heading to Vegas to indulge in the few vices left to him: gambling and anonymous sex.
His road trip takes a detour when he encounters Chandler Tracey, who's just inherited guardianship of his five-year-old niece. Overwhelmed, Chandler's on his way to deliver Poppy to his parents. But fate has other plans and, after car trouble, Chandler and Poppy accept a ride home with Steve. Though the heat between the two men is obvious, they put it on simmer while they band together to make Poppy's Christmas as perfect as possible.
Steve soon comes to believe that while Chandler is the right person to look after Poppy, someone needs to look after Chandler. Fortunately, Steve knows just the man for the job.
Icecapade by Josh Lanyon
On the eve of the new millennium, diamond thief Noel Snow seduced FBI special agent Robert Cuffe, then fled into the dawn. Now a successful novelist, Noel uses his capers as fodder for his books, and has modeled his hero's nemesis (and potential love interest) on Cuffe. Though he leaves Robert a drunken phone message every New Year's Eve, Noel hasn't seen or heard from him in a decade.
So he's thrilled when his former lover shows up at his upstate farm one Christmas Eve. Elation quickly turns to alarm when Robert accuses Noel of being responsible for a recent rash of diamond heists. Robert is all business and as cold as ice: it seems his only interest in Noel is to put him behind bars.
Innocent of the crimes and still as attracted as ever to the oh-so-serious lawman, Noel plans a second seduction-providing he can stay out of jail long enough!

Yes, a Christmas anthology, but it doesn’t need to be the holidays to enjoy these deliciously romantic stories. I applaud Carina Press for putting together such talent and delivering a sweet seasonal treat.
Mistletoe at Midnight by LB Gregg
Owen and Caleb fell in love during high school but were separated due to circumstances beyond their control. Now 15 years later, they are brought together, due to circumstances beyond their control. They must confront the past and hope for the future. I enjoyed the parts of the story told in flashback; getting the opportunity to watch the beginning of Owen and Caleb’s relationship. Owens’ Mom and Brother are your typical loving “interfering” family members. They are a hoot!
Nine Lights Over Edinburgh by Harper Fox
A mesmerizing story of a desperate man who loses himself in alcohol and gambling. Detective Inspector James McBride is a lonely man who feels comfortable when out on his “streets”. But his descent into the darkness has its price, and McBride must face the consequences of his actions. Just watching McBride open up and realize there are different types of love and that he is worthy of love was a beautiful metamorphosis.
I Heard Him Exclaim by Z.A. Maxfield
You couldn’t have a Christmas anthology without Santa Claus - this one even has elves! Steve has had enough problems this past year and heads to “Sin City” Vegas for the holidays. On his way he runs into Chandler and Poppy who are having auto problems. There is an immediate attraction. Chandler feels insecure and irresponsible. He isn’t cut out for the job of parenting - not ready for a kid. (Does this sound familiar to any parents out there? It did to me.) Steve on the other hand is the opposite when it comes to kids - plenty of nephews and nieces. Poppy even calls Steve “Santa Claus”. I couldn’t help but chuckle when reading the stolen momentsquickie between Steve and Chandler. *grin*
Icecapade by Josh Lanyon
How can you not love a seasonal read when the leading characters are: The Diamond Thief Noel Snow and The FBI Special Agent Robert Cuffe! Those names just rock! These two have it bad. I mean B.A.D. After one hot night, they haven’t seen or spoken to each other in 10 years - 10 frellin’ years!! There is a reason to their madness. Noel and Robert had to survive their chosen career paths to reclaim a passion they once shared. Noel is surprised when Robert knows so much about him. And Robert is so, so alpha: strong, silent type.
Now, you may be wondering why only the Sexual Rating of Steamy. Yes, the man love is HAWT! But it is not the sole focus of the story. It adds to the development of the relationship between the characters. What I found present in each of the tales was a breathtaking romance.

I was very impressed with this cookbook. I have tired these diet cookbooks before and I was not able to find any good recipes, but I found a lot of recipes in this one. The first of the book is full of tips and ideas on who to lose weight. There is even a 6 week daily planner to help you get started filled with foods that are in this book, very easy to use. I cooked a few recipes this weekend and my family loved them. I found them easy to cook and I also loved that just about every recipe has a picture. The only downside was of course, was there isn’t a lot of desserts, should have known LOL. Every recipe has the calories and the nutrition facts so you just can’t go wrong if you follow them.
Sample of one I cooked this weekend
1 cup uncooked elbow macaroni
1 pound lean ground beef (90% lean) (I don't eat beef, so I used ground turkey)
1 medium onion, chopped
1 can (28 ounces) Hunt’s® Original Diced Tomatoes, undrained
2/3 cup frozen corn
1 can (8 ounces) Hunt’s® Tomato Sauce
1 can (4 ounces) chopped green chilies
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup minced fresh cilantro
Cook macaroni according to package directions. Meanwhile, in a Dutch oven over medium heat, cook beef and onion until meat is no longer pink; drain. Stir in the tomatoes, corn, tomato sauce, chilies, cumin, pepper and salt. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 3-4 minutes or until heated through.
Drain macaroni; add to meat mixture. Stir in cilantro and heat through. Yield: 6 servings.
Nutrition Facts: 1-1/3 cups equals 224 calories, 6 g fat (2 g saturated fat), 37 mg cholesterol, 567 mg sodium, 24 g carbohydrate, 4 g fiber, 19 g protein. Diabetic Exchanges: 2 lean meat, 2 vegetable, 1 starch.

When Kate agrees to a mad experiment with something as insane as time travel, she expects exactly what Professor Waites had suggested: dystopian nightmares and possible barbarians. Source: Amazon Kindle and Barns & Noble
So when she finds herself in a future where women no longer exist and the men have no idea what they’ve been missing, she can’t seem to catch her breath.
Especially when the men in question—the darkly handsome Tem, and his starkly beautiful companion Aley, are so curious and so ready to learn everything she has to teach—including all the past pleasures they never knew existed.

Interesting! Stupidly Funny!
What an interesting take on time traveling into futuristic life where men only exist and just thinking of the possibility of it and the fact how they are portrayed as pure idiots just blows my mind. The fact that it takes a woman to come into their future to show them how sex is one thought that just cracks me up. When I say Stupidly Funny I mean “Comical”, so stupid it was funny and I laughed out loud several times at the comments or questions asked.
The story was pretty good for a short story and the characters were out of this world hilarious, however, when it came down to the erotic scenes it was 100% HOT! I totally enjoyed a female showing a male-male couple how adding a women to the mix is twice the pleasure and the ending was justified as the woman ends up going back into the future for more HOT sex.

Review Rating: 3 - One Good Howl
Sexual Rating:
This a quick and funny read, I found myself laughing out loud several times. Enter a world where women are nonexistent. When a woman suddenly pops in from the past, the men is stunned at first and then well *clears throat* you get the idea of what comes next, but what can you expect they have never laid eyes on a woman before. I recommend this for any who likes a quick hot m/f/m futuristic read.
Here is a quick tease
“There’s no such thing. It’s a replica! I told you the government had replicas.”
“I don’t think replicas look the way it does. It looks like a man.”
“It looks nothing like a man. Look how small it is! And it has boobles!”
Now it was the second one’s turn to roll his eyes.
“Those are not boobles. Perhaps they’re some sort of…growth. Maybe he’s wearing something under his clothes.”

My inner geek was doing the happy dance reading this one -- a sci-fi erotic romance with a little humor thrown in.
When she volunteered to test the time-travel machine, Kate Connor expected to find a decimated planet inhabited by troll people in the year 3033. Instead when she “landed”, she found (among other things) two gorgeous men and a planet without women. Like all initial encounters, getting to know one another can be fraught with misunderstandings.
"He’d heard that the past had been full of feelings and people doing things that were really outrageous and extreme all the time, so to her he most likely looked like an aloof weirdo who wanted to probe her with things.
Next time. Next time she came -- oh, if she did, if she did -- he would be enthusiastic and animated. And shake her hand. And give her a cracker."
Just imagine, having to teach/learn sex-ed hands on! An entertaining story that contains enough heat and futuristic mumbo-jumbo to keep the pages turning!

Drink of Me had me caught in its grasp by the second chapter and by late midday my daughter was asking me “are you going to read all day?” What can I say, when I find something I really like I can’t quit LOL. I must confess I liked Jacquelyn Franks Nightwalker series, but they didn’t even come close to holding my attention as this book did. Now my biggest disappointment is this is the only book, so I won’t get to read about the rest of the great pack characters, UGH!! If you want something a little different in the paranormal world with action and very strong emotions, it may have you hooked too.
I liked the flow for the storyline and it was easy to read. I thought the heroine Mystique was just awesome and I loved her ability. She’s been through a lot with the bruises to prove it, but she is still strong. She has no idea what her name is, but that doesn’t stop her if she feels to use her ability that she really knows nothing about. I loved the pack and how the telepathy worked with them all and how they all felt emotions between each other. The leader Prime Reule is strong and will do anything for his pack. I really felt the emotions in this book, what Mystique went through alone will make you either cry or choke up. I highly recommend this book!

The shame still haunts him. He longs for a fresh start, but breaking one cardinal rule—a man gives, a woman takes—is not an option. His struggle to learn local customs is complicated by a mentor whose eyes hunger for the empress...and for him.
Viltori is exhausted. He's tried to teach Drakha that there are many ways to find pleasure, only to be met with anger, even violence. Touching the handsome primitive only sharpens his unbearable lust for Bithia, making him wonder if execution for failure wouldn't be a blessing.
When Bithia witnesses the results of Viltori's training, she realizes only these two men can fill her empty heart, inspiring her to take command of the throne at last. Except those who've held the reins thus far have a sinister reason for keeping Bithia—and her new consorts—in their place.
Warning: This erotic romance contains a lusty empress, a primitive alpha male, a dedicated acolyte with domineering tendencies, copious amounts of hot m/m and m/f/m sex, secret torments, burning desires clashing with duty, and a little bit of meddling by future gods.

Viltori settled into the softest chair he’d ever sat upon as he motioned for Drahka to sit across from him. For a long time they simply sat, using the furniture as a way to teach each other new words.Even in the unfamiliar room, they fell to their usual form. Point, ask, explain and repeat. Immersed in learning, Drahka was oblivious to the fact that his robe, unlike his trousers, did not stay closed when he shifted about. Each time Drahka moved, he revealed more of his hairy calves, then his thighs. Each time he celebrated his understanding, Drahka lifted the crimson fabric up higher, getting ever closer to the juncture of his legs. After grasping a particularly difficult word, Drahka lifted his hands in triumph, which wrenched his robe apart, exposing his hips, cock and both legs.
Viltori tried not to gape, but the man was huge, hairy and, hottest of all, uncut. Most men on Diola, even those in the barbaric outer regions, were circumcised shortly after birth. Viltori had not known of the difference until he’d traveled to Oughun. As he stood with several other men urinating directly into a rushing stream, they’d excitedly pointed to his differentness. The Oughun men asked a hundred questions and Viltori hoped he’d answered them fully. Oughunian men had never seen a cut cock and Viltori had never seen one that wasn’t. Culturally they exchanged much that bonded them together. Viltori knew Drahka was uncut, and he’d tried to tell Drahka that he should inform Bithia, but when he’d tried to show him this information, he’d lashed out. Oughnians had clearly defined taboos about same-sex touching of any sort.
To his horror, Drahka noticed the direction of Viltori’s gaze. Before he could babble out an explanation, Drahka cupped his cock and asked, “What is wrong with my cock?” Lowering his head he said, “You tried to touch, to show me, and I tried to hit you. I’m sorry. Please now show me what is wrong with my cock.”
Gulping, Viltori said, “Nothing.” Not a damn thing he could see, anyway. He’d like nothing better than to do to Drahka what Rown had done to him earlier. “What makes you think there is anything wrong with your cock?”
“Bithia say something uncute.”
After a moment, where he couldn’t imagine anyone, even Bithia, calling a cock cute or not, Viltori understood. “Not cut,” he said. “Uncut, not un-cute.” Briefly, he explained the difference between the two words, then tried valiantly to convey the meaning behind Bithia’s comment.
Thrusting his finger at Viltori, Drahka demanded, “Show me yours that is cut.” Concern filled his stoic face as if he were genuinely worried that someone had cut up Viltori’s cock.
Eyeing the door, wondering just how much longer Bithia would be gone and if she’d be upset about him teaching her consort this, Viltori moved to a seat that blocked him from view of the doorway. If she did enter suddenly, he could pull his robe closed before she saw what he was doing.
Drahka seemed to understand the furtive nature of their discussion. Frowning, Drahka moved to the couch, sitting next to him. He eyed the door that was well over the high back of the couch. When Viltori parted his robe, showing Drahka his painfully hard, circumcised cock, Drahka leaned over.
Breathing hard enough to brush hot air over the pounding length of Viltori’s cock, Drahka said, “You not cut.” Reaching out his left hand, Drahka wrapped his fist around Viltori’s cock. “No cut.” Lowering his head, placing his face a bare breath above the tip, Drahka bellowed, “Ah! Cut off tip!” Pulling back, yanking open his robe, Drahka grasped his own cock and tugged his foreskin. “Cut off tip, not cut up cock!” Proudly displaying his penis, Drahka considered Viltori’s for another moment, then grasped him again. Running his fingers up and down, hardening him further, Drahka leaned close again and asked, “When you were cut, were you hurt?”
“I was a baby when they cut me.” He thanked the gods for that. He couldn’t imagine what having that done as an adult would be like.
“You no feel pain now?” Drahka ran a fingertip along the faint circumcision scar that encircled the hardest part of Viltori’s prick.
“No, it doesn’t hurt now.” Of course, that wasn’t quite true. He was so hard and excited his prick truly did hurt. If not for Rown’s generous gift, he would have erupted all over Drahka’s hand.
Drahka nodded, turning his attention to his own cock. “Mine hurts. Bithia’s servants scrubbed under the tip.”
Viltori cast a wary eye to the door, than to Drahka’s hand-held prick. “Does it hurt now?”
“Some.” Frowning, Drahka looked toward the door Bithia had exited. “She take twice, then suck once. Still I am excited thinking of her.”
Nodding, Viltori asked, “On Oughun, do men seek solo pleasure?”
Horrified, Drahka yanked his hand off his cock. “I not doing that, just showing!”
“Calm down. I’m not accusing, just asking.” However, clearly by his response, the men of Drahka’s tribe did not masturbate. In a way, such a taboo made perfect sense. His tribe was relatively infertile. Each ejaculation was sacred and necessary for the continuation of his people. Self-fulfillment would be considered the height of selfishness.
Not only had Drahka been a virgin when he’d gone to Bithia, he’d been relatively untouched. If he could have swooned, Viltori would have. Drahka was a blank slate. Anything he or Bithia taught him about their culture he would believe, accept and likely perform. Heady with the erotic possibilities, then cautioned by the ethical dilemma, Viltori reluctantly wrapped his robe around his body.
Following suit, Drahka covered himself up too. “Is looking wrong?”
“No, I’m cold. Did you want to see more?” Gods, why was he asking? He should let this matter drop.
Drahka considered for a moment, then whispered, “Do you do solo touching?”
Technically, he wasn’t supposed to, but then he realized he was teaching and letting Drahka watch him masturbate could be considered a form of education. Or maybe he was just desperately trying to justify doing what he wanted to do.
“Do you want me to show you?” Viltori caught their reflection in a mirror strategically placed across from the couch. They made a wicked contrast: he in white, Drahka in crimson, his finger-length blond hair glowing, and Drahka’s long black hair gleaming. Drahka was bigger, broader, the silk of his robe caressing massive muscles below. Viltori was muscular too, but not like Drahka. In his tribe, Drahka had been a hunter, felling great beasts to feed the entire group. He also cut trees for their fires. Such hard labor gave him a remarkable body, one the elite would pay handsomely to mimic through surgical enhancement.
Drahka nodded. “Show me solo touching.”
Parting his robe, Viltori took his cock in hand, cradling his shaft with his dominant right hand as he cupped his balls with the left. “The trick is not to rush.” Gods no, he wasn’t going to rush. He wanted to enjoy every bit of this encounter. Desperately he prayed to the god of Harvesters that Bithia would not return until he was finished with his lesson.
Drahka watched intently for a moment, then parted his robe. He gripped his cock with his right hand and stroked, fumbling.
“Use your dominant hand.” Viltori nodded to his left.
Drahka switched to his left hand. Now his motions were sleek and exact, mimicking perfectly what Viltori did.
“Slowly?” Drahka asked. “Faster would feel better.”
“Stroke too fast and it’s over too fast.” Viltori had to summon the very depth of his will to continue with his measured, even strokes. “Solo touching is a way to learn to last longer when with a woman.”
“Ah, that is good to learn. Bithia happy with longer lasting.”
“Bithia will be happier with me lasting longer,” Viltori corrected automatically.
“Bithia will be happier with me lasting longer.” Drahka repeated the words, then looked to him for confirmation that he’d spoken correctly.
Viltori nodded, knowing full well his interest at the moment was not with Bithia’s pleasure. His gaze darted between his own hand, Drahka’s, and the mirror where he could see them both. Drahka’s body was big and covered in dark hair. Muscles flexed as he tightened his form to keep his mounting passion at bay.
“Feels good,” Drahka said, squeezing his fist a bit tighter, causing his foreskin to move smoothly up and down his shaft, exposing the slick, dusky-red tip.
Viltori thought he would climax right there. Drahka kept his gaze on Viltori’s hand, mimicking each motion. He followed along so exactly that when Viltori looked into the mirror he felt he was stroking Drahka’s cock. His mouth watered, desperate for a taste of him.
Behind them, they heard a click. Their eyes met, widened, and they hastily jumped to their feet. Viltori had his robe down covering his prick in an instant, but Drahka struggled with the open ends and the tied sash. Before he could determine if the couch was high enough to shield him from Bithia’s view, she looked directly into his eyes through one of the mirrors.
“Tell me, Viltori, exactly what have you been teaching my consort?”

Sexual

Daria and Tom’s marriage is on the verge of collapse and divorce is imminent. However, they do love one another and agree to try therapy to save their marriage.
And that, My Dear Readers is a call for sex exploration, and the only reason why I gave this a Sexual Rating of 3. Daria and Tom’s foray outside their comfort zones include role playing (sex with strangers, intruders), ménage, a bit of D/s, and some of what is mentioned in the blurb above. Unfortunately, I didn’t feel any heat, passion, HAWTNESS, sizzle, spark, snap, crackle, or pop.
The author tries to weave somewhat of a story in between the sex scenes. The story is told from Daria’s view point and she has a career as the editor of a women’s fashion magazine. Regrettably, her behavior is inexcusable. And then about three-quarters way through the book, Daria goes from bitch to pussy cat in less than sixty seconds. Go figure.

A large part of their therapy sessions had been about breaking boundaries. Dr. Rogers encouraged them to learn outside their comfort zones.

Interview with author Christy Poff
Please welcome erotic romance writer Christy Poff!
Laurie-Hello Christy, I am so glad you accepted to do this interview. Would you tell us a little about yourself?
Christy -In essence, there’s not a great deal to tell – I’m married with two kids and an amazing granddaughter outside of Philadelphia, Pa. I love to travel and hope to get up to Canada in the next few years. I used to be a firefighter but things happened and I no longer can do it.
Laurie-What inspired you to write?
Christy -A family trip to Gettysburg one day and my first historical hit paper. It’s also a period of time with so many fascinating people and events. I love it when an idea comes to mind then ends up as a full-length novel or even a novella.
Laurie-Out of all the books you wrote, do you have a few that hold a special place in your heart? How about your heroes and heroines, do you have a favorite among them?
Christy -Chase for an Angel will always be my favorite as well as Jessie and Andrew though my other characters are all fighting for second place.
Laurie-What are some of your favorite author’s and some of your favorite books you've read?
Christy -I love Christine Feehan’s Dark series as well as Laurell K. Hamilton’s Anita Blake series. I literally go through withdrawal between books in WEB Griffin’s Badge of Honor series which centers on the Philadelphia Police Department.
Laurie-What sub-genre that you write? Do you have a favorite?
Christy -I write several, in fact. I love vampires and werewolves as evidenced from my Eyes of Darkness series which at this moment has no last book in sight as it keeps continuing on, my Internet Bonds and Desire series are erotic with BDSM involved, and I’ve got some thrillers as well. I basically write what comes to mind at the moment – except for Sci-Fi.
Laurie-I recently read WAR IN DARKNESS: MOONSTRUCK and really enjoyed it. What was your favorite part about witting this story?
Christy -The fact I could base it in Charleston, South Carolina (one of my favorite cities in the world) since I have a good amount of family there plus the time period. Being able to merge the history aspect with the vampire idea intrigued me.
Laurie-With War in Darkness: Moonstruck setting in Confederate times, did you have to do any research while witting?
Christy -I had a lot of the information about the city already but I wound up calling a very nice man at the Exchange Museum in Charleston to ask him about the stores underneath the original building. When I saw the construction and architecture of them, I knew I had to use the underground area in the story. Looking into Osceola was fascinating, too. I can also cheat and ask my cousin for any naval help.
Laurie-Can you tell us what inspired you to write the heroine as a spy? Most people say women didn't do things like this back then, but I believe they did. So, I loved this idea!
Christy -Then they aren’t aware of Belle Boyd, Crazy Betty and several others who worked to undermine the Union and Confederacy. It’s rumored that Betty had one of her spies in Jefferson Davis’ household in the Confederate White House in Richmond. Belle’s life is fascinating, as well. Women had attributes and wiles the men didn’t and they used them to get information on and to either side. Having her get pulled into the covert side of the war worked well.
Laurie-Have you ever thought about writing more books like your War in Darkness Moonstruck?
Christy -I have another one planned for the series which continues the story of the Austin Brothers who are werewolves in the Tennessee and Shenandoah Valleys. Their stories began in the first book which released under the Torrid Teasers line at Whiskey Creek Press Torrid. The book had two short stories—Addicted to Cyn which dealt with the idea of vampires making a nightly feast at the battlefields though one had a conscience and the other, Scarlet Love which told about a girl taken hostage by Yanks since her home lay in the wrong area and the man who saved her and took her farther south to his home.
Laurie-Would you tell us a little of what you’re working on next?
Christy -I’ve just finished the edits for the fourth Desire book which releases in a few weeks and I’m not sure what might come next though I am looking into more Civil War elements.
Fun questions:
What your favorite color? Black
What your favorite color? Black
Do you have any pets? Used to have three cats.
What your favorite movie and TV show? Favorite movie is Casino Royale with Daniel Craig and TV Show is a toss up between several – Torchwood, Doctor Who with David Tennant or any of the Doctors preceding him as I don’t like Matt Smith, Top Gear but only the UK original and Hawaii Five-O ( loved the original with Jack Lord and love the new one with Alex O’Loughlin.) Other than that, you’ll find me watching any hockey game I can.
Do you have a favorite food or place to eat? Shrimp is my favorite food followed by chocolate. As to favorite restaurant – good question.

Dee's Thoughts:
Arie is a strong, loyal, ass-kicking character. I enjoyed her immensely. Her growth as a person and her strength to accept new realities is much-admired.
Jonas I have been crushing on and I was so happy with the Leaf’s choice of mate for him. This character is strong, caring, and loving. His determination to be there for Arie and for their relationship to grow was incredibly sexy.
I don’t want to give anything away on this one and it would be to easy to considering its length. This is a great short read with great lead characters and worth a read.

Paranormal suspense author Cynthia Eden is a new voice to be reckoned with in romantic suspense world with her new Deadly suspense trilogy. Deadly Heat is an edge of your seat page-turner along with the added heat that will keep you fanning yourself. If you love mystery, romance, extreme action, and a hot agent that will do anything to protect his woman, then here is your series. It wouldn’t surprise me to find out Cynthia Eden makes the top of New York Times bestsellers list with this series.
I loved both the hero and heroine. Lora is a fierce fire fighter that will stop at nothing to save a victim(s) from a fire. She not only has this fierceness in her work she also adds it with her family and her love life. Agent Kenton gets pulled out of the fire and is put into another fire just by being around Lora. These two finds the fire gets hotter as they are together.
I have to give Cynthia a round of applause for the way she wrote the villain. He is very sick in the head and Cynthia tells his story very well almost too well.
This is a must series to be on any romance readers list!!

FIRST HE DROVE HER MAD
In what feels like a moment, Beatrice Edmund goes from being a proper lady cooped up in a stuffy Scottish castle to traveling miles from anything she’s ever known, in the midst of the wildest adventure of her life. And at the center of that adventure is the most infuriating, puzzling scoundrel on earth. She cannot take her eyes off him.
THEN HE DROVE HER WILD
Colin Fitch cannot deny he’s drawn to Beatrice—but lust is all he could possibly feel for the sharp-tongued minx. Still, if there’s a chance she can help him stop the madman he pursues, he must withstand her obvious disapproval. Yet withstanding the longing he feels for her is growing more troublesome by the second… And Colin has never been terribly good at staying out of trouble..

In all fairness I have to say this before you read my review. I read this 548 page book on my computer and I normally stick with novellas or a book around 300 pgs. So because of the length I am afraid it has affected my reading and reviewing of this book. I can only sit on my chair and read for so long then I am antsy and want to move on, so please keep this in my while reading this review.
Wild desire is a very dangerous sexy adventure set in India. I found the story fell in the middle for me. I liked it yet, I didn’t like it. I really liked the adventure, the India setting and the paranormal elements in the story. The author also placed a few surprises along the way. What I didn’t care for was the back and forth relationship between the hero and heroine and the story did drag. Overall this is a good read, but one you can sit down and go back to later. I will say for those that loves emotional main characters problems, this will be right up your ally.
Beatrice leaves her castle to visit her cousin Leo and his new wife Ella. She never expected to be left alone with a madman Colin, He irritates her to no end and on top of that they have men trying to kill them. So she gets pulled in to an adventure that has all kinds of danger. She is scarred and tries her best to help. The thing is are they after him or her? He has special powers, but she has special blood. While these two are running for their lives they both find an attraction between for other. They just fight it the whole way.
Teaser
You fainted.
He scoffed, pushing up onto his elbows. Don‘t be ridiculous. I‘m a man and an American, we don‘t faint.
She lifted one dark brow and leaned back on her heels. Well, then you took a nap, a very deep, very long nap.

In this highly sensual tale, Azari has no idea her life is about to change irrevocably. Unwittingly, she has awakened two mythical beings intent on taking her virginity. Escaping to an isolated cabin, Azari meets an unlikely protector, Tor, the High Priest of Eiliki. Together, Azari and Tor face the greatest challenges of their lives - survival. Will Tor-s blind devotion to the Goddess prevent him from accepting the greatest gift he-s ever been given, or will the dogma of his religion and his own past keep him from making the right decision?

MY REVIEW AND SEXUAL RATING:
Awesome Fantasy Romance!
Magic is in play in this awesome story. A Mage (wizard), a woman to love, a goddess to please, a dragon and a big wild cat fighting over a virgin brings this story to a climax that is unexpected. Tor the Mage (Wizard) who happens to be High Priest and Azari’s (woman) fate has been intertwined as they learn they are made to be each other’s mate and future.
The adventure begins as Tor takes Azari’s virginity and protects her as best he can from the mythical creatures. The story between the Dragon and the Wild Cat unfolds the truth to the long told myth and filled with action as Tor and Azari make their run to safety.
The romance and erotica scene is pretty steamy. I loved Azari’s character for I could totally relate to her attitude of independence and wanting to have equality and her choice of free will of her own choices. Tor’s character was a strong Alpha type of male that is used to giving the orders and I found him more likable once he started seeing Azari’s point. The story ends with new beginnings and an HEA that will have you smiling in the end.

Billie Joyce’s life-time dream of visiting New York City comes true, but the life changing experience is totally different than what she anticipated.
The blonde angel who saved her from death is one of the living dead and now, so is Billie Joyce. Problem is, she faints at the sight of blood. To make things more frustrating, she has to contend with a man who can find nothing right with her. Of course, he would have to be the one who creates more sensations in her body than she ever had when she was alive.
Marcus fights his attraction to the lavender eyed beauty who talks like she stepped out of My Fair Lady. After all, he’s no Henry Higgins, plus he got over the sex thing centuries ago. Besides, as the new King of the Vampires, who has time for women?
RATING:
SEXUAL:
Dee's Thoughts:
Billie Joyce has had and is having some crappy luck. She is attacked in an alley and left for dead. Then her guardian angel appears and Billie Joyce is granted a new life, however it is an undead new life as a vampire. The real kicker is Billie Joyce can’t stand the sight of blood and each time she tries to feed she faints. Now she must face her past or her new life will be short lived as well.
Daniel is irate to discover Dovey has not only transformed a human, but has left her in his care. To add to his irritation this beautiful, soft bodied woman is stirring urges he hasn’t felt in years. Giving into those urges brings Daniel face to face with the fact he wants this woman as a wife and this women is hell bent on refusing him.
Billie Joyce’s character is from the south. Therefore, there is a lot of southern slang throughout the novella. I found her slang to be a bit of overkill. That is saying a lot since I am southern. It was used to such a degree that Billie Joyce became annoying and appeared less than intelligent.
Daniel seemed to find more things he didn’t like about Billie Joyce than things he did. With this factor it was hard to envision a true connection between the characters.
What I enjoyed about this novella is the continuation of Aaron and Dovey‘s story. This part of the novella made it all worth the read. Love this couple!
