Book Description

Sweet Discipline By Bonnie Hamre When Norris Brownell registers at an exclusive diet spa to further her career and salvage her social life, she expects the usual regimen of diet, exercise and behavior modification. However, Adrian, her personal trainer, knows that won't do. He's determined to train her to discipline her body and her impulses for more than portion control. He wants her for himself. She's initially appalled and resistant to his methods, but as her body slims and her sensual needs expand, she finds herself dealing with cravings that only Adrian can satisfy. Norris may lose much more than just pounds at the hand of her sensual trainer. Note: Sweet Discipline contains multiple scenes of discipline and is not for the faint of heart

In order for me to read any BDSM books, I have to have a good connection and feel something more then just sex between the two characters and I can’t read anything that’s degrading to the female. I was lucky this book did have the connection and I found it no way degrading. I did find myself being tested on reading some of sex scenes one in particular was risky to add, but I found it tolerable, some may not. At first I didn’t think I could read let alone finish it, but over all I found it a nice read. There quite a bit of anal, lots of sex toys, and discipline not for the faint of heart.

Norris want’s to lose weight, she had a friend that went to a spa called Sweet Discipline and was successful, so Norris wanted to give it a try. She never expected to have a male trainer let alone be naked with him, then to top it off she was able to have sex toys, that should be a no, no right?

Adrian seen Norris before she came in at Sweet Discipline and really liked her. Adrian is a dominate he decides he wants a challenge and Norris is his next client, he wants to train her as his submissive. Will it work? Will she lose weight and also in return be his submissive.

I found this one a very quick and easy read, so it doesn’t take up a lot of your time. The first half of the book there is really no sex, its Adrian training her to be his submissive, so that’s one downside. You don’t a lot of juice, until closer to the end of her stay at the spa

Interview with author Kathy Kulig, giveaway of Desert of the Damned

I happy to have with us today Kathy Kulig, erotic paranormal and contemporary author. Please give her a fangtastic welcome.

BbPR-Would you please tell us a little about yourself?

Kathy- Like most writers, I’m nuts about books, always have been. Even at a young age, I was a huge fan of Sci-fi, fantasy and ghost stories. Which is probably why I tend to write more paranormal. I later got hooked on romance and would read them by the shopping bag-full. I enjoy the outdoors and traveling. I’ve skied, hiked, gone on bike marathons, mountain biked and also worked as a dive master. Originally, I’m a Jersey girl, but I’ve lived in NY State, Colorado, Florida and now Pennsylvania. My writing career started out in newspapers and magazines. I have over three dozen articles published. More recently, I got into fiction and have three novels, two novellas and a number of short stories published.

BbPR-What type of books do you write?

Kathy- I write paranormal, contemporary and erotic romance for Ellora’s Cave. My stories have adventure, can be edgy and always have a happily ever after.

BbPR-Who are some of your favorite authors?

Kathy- I read a variety of books but to name a few: JR Ward, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Christine Feehan. I’m also a thriller fan: Barry Eisler and David Morrell.

BbPR-Which is easier to write male or female characters?

Kathy- I think they both have their challenges. I don’t know that one is harder than the other. Women and men think, talk and react differently and I have to remember that when writing them.

BbPR-What is your favorite paranormal creature?

Kathy- Oh, this is a fun question. I could say I haven’t made him up yet. I make up new ones with each book, many times based on folklore or myth with my own twist. In my Demons in Exile series, I’d have to say Dante is my favorite. He surprised me and became something I wasn’t expecting. And I had my series completely outlined. The events in the last two books changed him. In the final book, I have some extra surprises planned.

BbPR-For those who have never read your Damned and Desired eBook, can you tell them a little about it?

Kathy- Damned and Desired is Book 2 of the Demons in Exiled series from Ellora’s Cave. Here’s the blurb: She’s a demon, he’s a shapeshifting leopard. From their first meeting in the Arizona desert, passion ignites and trouble begins. As a demon, Sakari Lock must harvest lifeforce energy through sexual seductions to sustain her exiled world. But when Sakari meets Brad, she breaks the number one rule of Anartia—don’t get personal with your quarry.

Physician’s assistant Brad Montag is drawn to Sakari’s lustful advances with a blazing desire he can’t explain, unaware of how dangerous she is. No matter how enticing, she’s a complication he doesn’t need until he can conquer his past and regain control of his shapeshifting abilities. Sex this wicked and good can only lead to disaster.
When immortals from an alternate dimension try to free their exiled world, Brad is caught in the middle of a battle that could destroy not only him, but the land he loves.

BbPR-Desert of the Damned and Damned and Desired are related. Can these be read as stand alone or is there an order to read these? Do you plan on writing more?

Kathy- Damned and Desired is Book 2 of my Demons in Exile series. Book One is Desert of the Damned. Yes, the two books are stand alone and can be read out of order. I’m working on the third book in the series now. The title is not set yet.

BbPR-With all the social networking online now a day‘s, do you find it hard to keep up with it all and write too?

Kathy-I give a workshop on social networking. I can get carried away with Twitter, Facebook, blogging and the loops. They are a necessary evil to reach readers and network. The best think is to limit you time—set a timer if you have to. I do email and social networking until 7:30pm, then exit out and start writing. Otherwise, I’d never get any writing done since I work a day job. I also get up early on the weekends, sometimes as early at 4-4:30am.

BbPR-Can you give us a little on what you’re working on now?

Kathy- I have another erotic shapeshifting book that’s about completed and I’m working on the third in the Demons in Exile series.

BbPR-Anything else you would like to share?

Kathy- Laurie, Thank you so much for having me as a guest. If the readers would like to learn more or link up socially, please visit my website. On my Contact page are all my links to Facebook, Twitter, etc. I also blog most Wednesdays with the Danger Zone Authors.

Thank you so much Kathy!!

This book is smoking Hot! I couldn’t decide if I needed a shower or turn up the fan. I love it so much. I now have a new favorite erotic author. I have always be a sucker for M/F/M. I normally like them where the two males are already committed to this type of relationship this way you don’t go through the I don’t know if I can handle this type of lifestyle and on top of that they have to convince the girl to do it too. Sometime it just gets carried a way, If you read this type of books you know what I mean. This book is that type, so none of the males or female is into this lifestyle, so they all have to come to terms with it, either they stay together or separate, but the author keeps you interested, so it didn’t get boring or on my nerves.

I loved the tension that the author builds between all three characters and how thy handled everything. I also loved how the author takes you into there lives in such a short time you really get to know each of them, especially Brett he is the tortured one.

Few spoilers
Nicole (Nikki as you’ll see her called) had a ruff marriage and divorce. She is now living with her brother. She comes home from saving some horses and finds her livestock hasn’t been watered, her brother was gone, her hot friend Dillon from next door is there to help her. When she notices the lights aren’t on in her house she gets a bad felling. Dillon goes in the house first to check and find everything gone. I am not going in to who took the stuff it would be a bad spoiler sorry, you’ll have to find out yourself on that one;)

Dillon and Brett are step bro’s (you have to read to find out how they became bro. its not a typical situation you read all the time) and they both have had a thing for Nikki. When Dillon finds all of Nikki’s stuff gone from her house the first choice is she comes and stays with him. Now you know what happens here (woo wee, it gets turned up.) Nikki knows Brett has a thing for her, but he never acts on it. She asks him and he says no he doesn’t want her. This is were I would love to put a spoiler to say way he doesn’t want her, lets just say its really emotional. One day Brett cant take it anymore so now they want her to decide between them, but how can you chose one love over another and not be hurt.

This book receives Top Pick Award

For a Urban Fantasy this book was good for me. The New world is ruled by a church called Church of Real Truth, Stacia explains the world really good and it doesn’t take up the whole storyline. There is lots of hard core action and one somewhat hot scene between Chess and Lex.

Chess has to have her drugs, if not she ends up with the itch. Bump is her supplier. She is in head over heals in debt with him. Bump gives her a ghost hunting job to help pay for what she owes him. From what I read I didn’t get the whole thing that she was so attraction to Bump’s enforcer there was a little tension there but that’s all I found. But when Lex kidnaps her, so he can get her to do something for him, then you’ll see the attraction kick in.

I had a one big problem with this book that is, the dialogue with the drug lords and their people. Here is a few lines “Ain’t you got no people be worried?” or this passage “Bump got the pull. Bump already got that place wide up, see, wide up. But Bump gotta problem. Bump planes-planes carrying them sweet pills you ladybirds like bumps plains crash. Something attacking the planes, dig? Make the go all silent.” Turns they off. This is though the whole book so make sure you can stand this kind of talk between the characters. Even if they talk like this, I found it annoying to read. I will say I enjoyed it enough to try the second book. I really didnt like all the pills Chess pop's but I'm intrested to see where the author takes this.

Streetwise, tough and savvy, his quick sarcasm is the stuff of legends. . .until the night when his best friends try to kill him. Saved by a mysterious warrior who has more fighting skills than Chuck Norris, Nick is sucked into the realm of the Dark-Hunters: immortal vampire slayers who risk everything to save humanity.

Nick quickly learns that the human world is only a veil for a much larger and more dangerous one: a world where the captain of the football team is a werewolf and the girl he has a crush on goes out at night to stake the undead.

But before he can even learn the rules of this new world, his fellow students are turning into flesh eating zombies. And he’s next on the menu.

As if starting high school isn't hard enough. . .now Nick has to hide his new friends from his mom, his chainsaw from the principal, and keep the zombies and the demon Simi from eating his brains, all without getting grounded or suspended. How in the world is he supposed to do that?

This is totally a young adult book. If your looking for something like the dark hunters series, its not here, so you don’t get the romance and hardcore action. I would recommend this book to people who read YA books, but if YA is not your cup of tea like me, well you may want to read more than a couple of reviews before buying. There is action, and humor and teens that turns into zombies, yep, picture it, some of the football team as zombies coming after to kill Nick.

Nick starts out as a loser. With his mom being a striper he ends up getting bullied all the time. One time some teen starts teasing Nick, he gets kicked out of school because of fighting that teen. That night he ends up in with some kids that tries to rob an old couple, he starts thinking this is not a good idea and ends up with the Teens beating the crap out of him, until Kyrian steps in. From there you’ll find there is someone after him and sending Zombies to kill him.

You’ll see a few D-H in here, even Artemis makes an appearance. There is a few new characters you’ll meet one is Bubba. I really liked Bubba, he has two rules 1. "Shoot first then ask questions". 2. "Double tap just for good Measure". "Better safe than sorry". Bubba adds a lot of humor. He is the reason I had added a star to this rating.

You’ll find a few things about Nick from the D-H’s told in more detail and some loose ends taken care of. But as a D-H reader I found Nick’s life not the same as portrayed as in the D-H books. Other than that I found the book dragged and was too boring. I want to stress if I was a YA reader that had never read the D-H series, my rating would be a lot higer.

I recevied this ebook by author for reivew

I enjoyed this quick erotic read it has a very unique story. The author mixes Indian folklore and out of this world demons, it makes for one very interesting story. There is quite a bit of sex action not only form the two main characters but some others also. You get not only m/f but there is a scene were you get m/m/f action. There is also some BSDM in the first part of the ebook.

Sakari like the other demons, has to have sex with humans to gather energy. The catch is she cant have an orgasm or she will kill the human, so this makes it a little more interesting. They are looking for Sha Warrior’s because they gather more power. Sakari wants to go home, for one reason her parents are exiled and she needs to help them. She finds Brad in desert and she starts to have feelings for him. This is a no, no because she is immortal and has to go home.

Brad is a leopard shape shifter and he is also a Sha Warrior. He is strong and ready to take on all dangers. When he meets Sakari he has to have more and in their first sexual encounter he new he had to have more. The catch is can Brad convince Sakari to stay with him and not leave.

The only downside for me was, I’m not a fan of m/m/f, but it wasn’t a whole lot and it didn’t involve the main characters, so it can be skipped . If you enjoy m/m with a little female there is enough for you to sink you teeth in and enjoy.

Author interview Meagan Hatfield and autographed giveaway Shadow of the Vampire

I am so happy to bring you an interview of my top favorite book this year, Her name is Meagan Hatfield and the book Shadow of the Vampire. I was so happy to be able to talk to Meagan after I read this fantastic book on Netgalley, she is a wonderful person and author. This interview and giveaway is on Shadow of the Vampire, Release date July 1st. Please give a big welcome to Meagan!

BbPR-Your book Shadow of the Vampire is due out July 1st . Can you tell those who haven’t heard of it a little about your new book?

Meagan-Sure! Declan Black is one of the last dragon lords. The vampire horde, ruled by their evil queen is on the verge of winning their century’s long battle. Then an item is discovered that when wielded against his dragon kind it can enslave or destroy them, Declan risks going into the bowels of the hordes catacomb hell to retrieve it. However, when he finds an angel in the shape of his enemy’s daughter, will he be able to resist the fire of lust she kindles within him? Or will he risk everything to quench the burning desire?

BbPR-What inspired you to write Shadow of the Vampire?

Meagan-I had written a novella featuring dragons and vampires back in 2006. Although I knew it was a one-time deal, I couldn’t stop thinking about the characters and that world I’d created. So, when I won a chapter critique for Harlequin’s Nocturne line at my local conference, I wrote what is now Chapter one of SHADOW OF THE VAMPIRE and sent it to my now editor. I thought I would simply receive back a critique of my work. So when she told me she really liked it and wanted to see more that was pretty much all the inspiration I needed to keep my butt in the chair and finish the book.

BbPR-What is your process for writing your Shadow of the Vampire?

Meagan-I tend to write freehand in a notebook and type it in the computer later, doing the first revision as I go. I’m visual and like to use different colored pens in the notebooks, draw little pictures, even costumes or attire ideas on my stick figure people if the mood strikes. I also storyboard once I plot the book out, have a post-it fetish and use character clippings and inspiration pictures. All of that goes on a cork board wall beside my desk, along with any other notes I might need. I also have a huge binder covering everything in the series that I need to remember, (a fabulous idea I got from Yasmine Galenorn – thanks Yazza!) And last, I almost always write to music. Usually, I create different playlists for each story. However, I wrote Shadow of the Vampire to one cd only, no playlist – Breaking Benjamin’s Phobia, I just looped it and played it over and over. The songs and mood fit the tone of the book perfectly. Plus they are one of my favorite bands.

BbPR-How much if any at all research did you put in for Shadow of the Vampire?

Meagan-I didn’t do much research. Maybe a little bit on dragons. But I’m the queen of making stuff up! Lol! I knew what I wanted the characters to do, what powers I wanted them to have as well as what weaknesses. So, I sort of just went for it! As to the world-building and characters, etc…well, in a way, every story I wrote previously prepared me to write this book. I mean, I had written a fantasy romance novel, a historical romance novel, contemporary and erotic romance short stories and novella’s – all genres with aspects or elements that I believe can be found in Shadow of the Vampire in one way or the other.

BbPR-You really torture some of your characters in this book. Are any of them based on real people?

Meagan-LOL! I could tell you, but then I’d have to break out the flogger. ;)

BbPR-There are so many different amazing characters in your book Shadow of the Vampire, are you going to make this a series? If so, do you know how many you have planned?

Meagan-Aww, thank you! All of these characters are so real and vivid to me, I’m glad they are resonating with others too. And yes, that is the plan. I have three novella’s set in this world coming out from Harlequin Nocturne Bites. Kestrel and Doc’s story is up first in DRAGON WARRIOR. Then I have VAMPIRE IN HER MYSTS coming out next, which is Yuri’s story. And I just turned in one based on a rogue vampire soldier that takes place during the timeline of book 2.

BbPR-What do you have for us for upcoming books?

Meagan-Falcon, Tallon and Griffon are up next – but I’m not saying who is with whom just yet. I even have an outline for Ash if they want me to keep going.

BbPR-Why did you become a writer?

Meagan-Some days I have no idea. *smiles* Honestly, I’ve always written. I loved to write stories and even wrote a young adult romance when I was in high school. But I had more of a passion for dance than the written word back then and ended up going to college as a dance major. It wasn’t until after I had my kids and was a stay at home mom that I picked up the pen again. I wrote my fantasy romance novel in a notebook while lying on the floor next to my infant son.

BbPR-Who are your favorite authors that inspire you the most?

Meagan-Everybody who has the passion and drive to pick up the pen and write - published or not - inspires me on a day to day basis. When it comes to my favorite writers, wow - I have so many auto-buy authors: Angela Knight, Gena Showalter, Lori Devoti, Ann Voss Peterson, Eden Bradley, Kresley Cole, Shari Anton… Now, finding the time to read all of them is another story. My to-be-read bookshelves are overflowing (yes, I said bookshelves, not stacks or piles.) I also have many great books by great new-to-me authors I can’t wait to discover. I won’t even tell you who some of these new-to-me authors are, it’s embarrassing! I catch flack from friends all the time for being so behind.

BbPR-What do you enjoy doing when your not writing?

Meagan-I teach seven Zumba & Zumba Toning classes a week right now. I love dancing, hanging out with my gals and shakin’ it to great music – it’s therapy! I also love being with my kids, doing fun things with them whether it’s a movie, a concert or a board game at home. They are wonderful little people I very much enjoy getting to know as they grow and become little adults.

BbPR-Anything else you would like to add?

Meagan-Just a huge thank you for taking the time to read and review the book! And another huge thank you for having me here today and to everyone reading.  If you’d like more information about me, my books, fun extras, excerpts, contests, links, promo items, signed bookplates or if you would like to join my newsletter or street team, check out my website – www.meaganhatfield.com Also, please feel free to email me at meagan@meaganhatfield.com and let me know what you think of Declan and Alexia or any of my characters. The Cursed One is book three and is now my favorite in this series. I was truly saddened when I found out Ronda is now passed, I was hoping for more books. I loved the writing flow and the surprises that kept me turning the pages as fast as I could to see what was happing next in this one, to me it was totally different from the rest of the series. In book one you’ll read that Amelia is to be married to Lord Collingsworth in this book you’ll find out what happened to them after they are married.

Amelia found herself in a heap of trouble on her wedding night, she thought that the thing (Yep, I did say thing, you’ll have to read;) was her husband, as she was screaming and fighting this thing off of her, she ends up killing the thing or at least she thought she did. Then all the sudden as if from one of her dreams a man from her past came to the rescue his name is Gabriel. Gabriel being wolf he could hear her screaming, he didn’t know at the time who it was, but it was someone in trouble. So he comes in and finds Amelia with a dead man. As you get into the story more they are sounded by shape-shifting creatures that wants nothing more than to kill them. These creatures goes as far as to burn the house down, So Amelia the maid and Gabriel is now on the run form these creatures and they have a ways to go on foot to get to Gabriel’s house. it’s a exciting adventure with lots of twist and turns that will keep you going. I found this book nothing less than wonderful.

I really enjoyed reading both the hero and heroine. I also enjoyed the wonderful ending.

I read in order but can be read out of order.

Good follow up from book one, The Dark One. This is the same historical paranormal so if you like either one you should enjoy this one. This book starts out really good. As we learned in the first book Jackson is a woman’s man and drinks heavy. He left to find and kill a witch, in hopes of getting rid of the family curse. In this book Jackson is being chased by the angry villagers and finds himself in a witch’s cabin. She is all alone and giving birth to a baby. Jackson agrees to help her as long as he gets to kill her after ward and he keeps the baby. Things go wrong and he ends up letting her and the baby go.

Lucinda, finds Jackson family home. She is thinks he didn’t make it out of his predicament, so she tells his family a lie, that she has given birth to Jackson’s kid and she is now his wife. She is now sitting pretty until one night she wakes up to someone getting into her bed. Well its not her bed it was Jackson’s before she took over. So you can guess who is getting into the bed. Now how does she make it out of the predicament she has created and does Jackson still want to kill her.

This is a good easy read. My biggest problem with this book is Lucinda. She is another one that is over the top with thinking Jackson doest want her. Jackson shows all the signs that he wants more than just romance, but she never looks past her nose. This kind of gets old after the middle of the book and then as you get to the end its really old.

Book description
Rosalind Rutherford knows full well the scandal she courts when she attempts to seduce the notorious Armond Wulf—in fact, she’s counting on it as a means to escape her sadistic stepbrother’s control. Unfortunately, Lord Wulf’s better instincts prevail...although not before he gives Rosalind a tantalizing taste of what she’s missing. And when the opportunity arises to rescue Armond from a grim fate while changing her own, Rosalind knows she must seize it...

Armond can no more ignore the Rutherford woman than his ancestor could resist the temptress who cursed the Wulf men with a terrifying transformation that occurs at the appearance of the full moon—and is set in motion by love. Now, to save her reputation and his freedom, Armond must marry Rosalind. But he vows that while they may share the pleasures of the marriage bed, she will never have his heart...

Yet as strange and mysterious events bring them closer in body and soul, Armond finds it increasingly difficult to keep his feelings for his new wife locked away. Especially when the reality of unquenchable desire—and certain danger—burn stronger than ever by the light of a full moon...

This is a very good quick read. If you like historical and paranormal this one would be good to try. This book puts high society right on the map with all its betrayals then add a twisted stepbrother, he will make you so mad at how he treats his mom and stepsister Rosalind.

Rosalind finds herself to be wed to a man she knows nothing about. Her step bro. has set this up to pay off his gambling debt. But as you read more you’ll find the step bro has gone deeper than just money with this man and let me say its disgusting. Rosalind has thought up a way to rid herself of this predicament, she is going to rid herself of her virtue. And she knows just who to go to for this, his name is Armond. But what Rosalind finds in Armond is something different and when she leaves him she still has her virtue. The next thing that happens Armond finds himself in jail. Rosalind knows he didn’t do the crime so she helps get him out of jail in return the help ends up twisted on her and she ends up as Armond wife. One thing she doesn’t really know is there is a curse on Armond’s family will she help or hurt the curse.

I like both Rosalind and Armond. You get to read some about Armond brothers so you know they are just as hot as Armond

I read these in order but they could be read out of order.

I really enjoyed this heartfelt romantic story. I love Kimberly’s way of writing, she bring you in by writing a heartbroken prologue, then at the end of the Prologue she gives you tremendous hope of what is to come in the rest of the book. This continues throughout the book. This book is full of all emotions, some humorous, betrayals and lots of steamy romance. Then you throw an ex-mistress in the mix and things get quite interesting.

Akira’s life didn’t start out good as a just born baby. (I don’t want to get into the details here, it would be a bad spoiler). She was branded by a man, Calin when she was born. Akira was to marry Calin for an alliance to bring two clans together. Akira new nothing about an alliance but she did know one day a man that was her benefactor would come to get her and marry her. He has paid for her education an much more. Now years later he, Calin has come to claim her, but can she be tamed. Lets just say Akira is a spitfire, she takes nothing off any man. She is still a virgin and wants to remain that way. Until she meets her Benefactor then things change after the first kiss form Calin, she wants more. Will Calin tell her all the story about her birth and the alliance or will he keep it from her and make things worse.

I really felt the love grow between Calin and Akira, they have their ups and downs but their love still grows. I loved the way Calin calls Akira his wee fire breathing dragon, he hit’s the nail on the head with that nickname.
