BEYOND 50 SHADES OF GREY...

Eighteen-year-old Alice is unhappy. Her boyfriend is nice and polite, but he's also quick and careless in bed, and doesn't give Alice the attention and variety she craves. But he's not entirely to blame, because Alice herself doesn't understand her own needs. She's heard about what sex is supposed to be like, but has never felt anything remotely close to what she's read about in runaway bestselling books.

BEYOND 9 1/2 WEEKS...

Then Alice follows a vibrating white rabbit down a deep, dark hole, which leads to a place beyond her wildest imagination. There are no nice boys--or girls--down here. Only those who indulge in secret, forbidden, kinky fantasies.

Lisa Kessler Night Thief blog tour

Who Wants to Live Forever?

Hi everyone –
I’m excited to be on the Bitten By Paranormal Romance blog today!

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live forever?  I think my fascination with immortals started with Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles, carried into the Highlander movies and tv series, and finally culminated for me with my Night series.

I’m intrigued to understand how a person (or being) can keep their lives relevant when the world around them is constantly changing, and they’re not. Anne Rice’s Lestat searched for pleasure and entertainment, but eventually found himself aching for meaning and redemption. In the Highlander television series, Duncan MacLeod, engrossed himself in learning languages and fighting styles while continuing on his “There can be only one” path in The Game.

The immortal Night Walkers in my Night Series each face the challenge of facing eternity and watching the world grow and die around them.

In Night Walker, my hero, Calisto Terana, walked the earth for over 200 years hoping for another chance at love and redemption. After his love was murdered in 1775, he gave up his soul to the night for a second chance to love her.  He had no idea he would wait centuries for her to live again, to see her face one more time. As decades turned into centuries, he amassed wealth and power, but his heart hardened and bitterness took the place of hope.

Only his memories of her and his desire to love her again keep him going.

In my latest Night Series release, Night Thief, Kane is one of the original Night Walkers, born immortal. As a Mayan God, time has never had any real meaning for him until the night he crosses paths with a mortal woman who steals more than his gold pocket watch.

His feelings for her force him to get involved in the mortal world around him and give him the opportunity to experience life instead of stand as a silent sentinel.

As I wrote the books for the series, each Night Walker hero has his own reason for facing eternity. For some it’s love, for others it’s duty, and for some it’s a quest for answers, but the burden of endless night weighs heavy on their shoulders.

On the surface, immortality, life without the fear of death seems like a great idea, but I think it comes with a hefty price.

So if you got the chance to live forever, would you take it?  If yes, what would keep you going as lifetimes pass by?  And if not, why would you rather remain mortal with only one life to live?

I can’t wait to hear your thoughts…

Night Walker – The Night Series - Book One  (Available Now)

He gave up his soul for a second chance to love her…

Two and a half centuries ago, Calisto Terana lost everything when a zealous
priest murdered the woman he loved. Now, desperate for another
chance to love her, he wants redemption for the mistake that cost her
life.

She’s haunted by dreams of her own death…

After catching her fiancé with another woman, Kate Bradley returns to
San Diego to clear her head. The last thing she needs is romance, but
after meeting Calisto she’s drawn to him in ways she doesn’t understand.

They’ve waited in the shadows for centuries…

Calisto has no doubt Kate is the reincarnation of his lost love, but the
Fraternidad Del Fuego Santo has a new watcher with dark ambitions of
his own. As old enemies reemerge and a new threat arises, the betrayal
that enslaved Calisto to the night might destroy the only woman he’s
ever loved again.

Night Thief – A Night Series Novella (Available Now)
After the fall of the Mayan civilization, Kane, an immortal Night Walker, has taken refuge in France for over 800 years. The modern world holds little interest for him until the night he meets the Golden Thief and is robbed of much more than his pocket watch.

Marguerite Rousseau is living a double life. By day she is the assistant to an eccentric French artist, Antoine Berjon, and by night she dons elegant evening gowns to woo French dignitaries before lifting their wallets.

Sparks ignite when Kane captures the thief, but Marguerite harbors a dark secret that could ruin them both.

Fireman, Police Officer, a Marine.

Those were the answers I saw.

And why not?

BDSM guest post/giveaway with Kallypso Masters

Kallypso Masters: Dispelling Myths and Writing Realistic BDSM Novels

I write BDSM erotic romance. I have the photo of a button on my Facebook wall that reads: "BDSM—if you have to ask, you don't need to know." But after the media hoopla over Fifty Shades of Grey (which is NOT considered BDSM by those in the community, those of us who write responsible BDSM, or even the author EL James herself), everyone seems to know a little bit about the genre.

The letters BDSM stand for any number of things. Bondage, Discipline, Dominance, Sadism, Sadist, submissive, Dominant/submissive, Master/slave, Sadomasochism, Masochism, Masochist, Master—and probably several more I'm not thinking of at the moment. Writers in the genre tend to write either Safe, Sane, Consensual BDSM (also known as SSC) or Risk Aware Consensual Kink (sometimes Risk Acceptable Consensual Kink, also known as RACK).

Review: To Catch a Fox by Raven McAllan

Title: To Catch a Fox
Author: Raven McAllan
Source: Author Request
Genre: Historical Paranormal Romance
Length: Novella
Release Date : October 11, 2012
Reviewer: Jasmyn

Eleanor may be a lady, but even she knows that there's more than one way to catch a fox...

When Eleanor was told the foxes had returned to Wilderwood, she wondered and hoped it wasn't just any old foxes. She'd spoken to no one of her week of passion with Alexander and Stanford Foxxe. The Foxxe brothers had warned her about their other lives, but Eleanor had been skeptical until that magical night where they had showed her their true selves. They shifted from human to animal; howled at the moon, and mated with her. Now six years later, the foxes were back. Had they come for her? If they had, would her changed circumstances alter all their plans? How would they cope with what she had become?

Eleanor has been unfairly shamed by the ton and now lives with her brother in country longing for a visit from the elusive Foxxe brothers.  But when they finally show up, she gets a lot more than just a wild night of passion.  When stranger shows up with ill intentions, they must risk all to be find the truth.  A great little mystery mixed in with the romance, but I had a hard time finding a way to keep the brothers separate in my mind.  Perhands because it was a novella, there wasn't a lot of time to learn their distinct personalities, which could be a bit confusing when there are three people involved.  But once I got them all straightened out the book was fantastic.  With just enough mystery and danger to keep things really interesting, it didn't take away from the romance (or the great sex).  With quite the surprise ending, this was a great read on a cold fall night.

Characterfest #29 three character interview with Gabrielle Bisset

I'm thrilled to be back once again for Characterfest here at Bitten By Paranormal Romance. Today I've got three of my vampires from the Sons of Navarus series to chat about all sorts of things. Before we begin, though, here's a little info on the Sons of Navarus series.

Eight vampire warriors chosen to defend their world against the Archon takeover, each dedicated to the war they must win. But there's another side to these Sons of Navarus—one that only the women they love know. Behind the strength they need to defeat their enemies lies a passion different in each one of the Sons. Their war will take them around the world and even involve the gods themselves, but they must unlock the secrets of the Prophecy of Idolas to defeat the Archons or perish in trying for none of their kind can be safe if the Archons win this battle.

Gabrielle:  Thank you so much for coming to talk with me tonight, gentleman. Let me introduce each of you. First, Vasilije, it's great to see you again. Your book Blood Avenged is the first one readers experience of the Sons.

Vasilije:  Love, it's always wonderful to see you. Any chance you've reconsidered my offer to sire you? You'd love being a vampire, pet. Trust me.

Gabrielle: (blushes and rolls her eyes)  I'm still thinking about it, Vasilije, but thank you. Okay, next is Saint, whose book Blood Betrayed is the second in the Sons of Navarus series.

Saint:  Gabrielle, it's great to see you again. He doesn't always act like that, does he? Do we need to douse you with cold water, Vasilije?

Vasilije:  Saint, our resident Puritan. Gabrielle knows I love teasing her. Don't worry about us.

Gabrielle:  And last, but not least, is Terek, whose book Blood Spirit is the third book in the series and the newest one, just released last month. I'm so glad you're joining us.

Terek:  Thanks, Gabrielle. It's great to be here. I don't think I've ever done an interview with any of the other Sons before. Something tells me it's going to be interesting.

Characterfest interview #28 with Brigid by Claire Ashgorve

Please welcome Brigid with Claire Ashgorve

Good morning everyone!  If you’re Celt, we’re rapidly approaching Samhain, the night when the veil between the living and the dead is the thinnest.

It’s also the night that the McClaine siblings have been awaiting for the last year.  And I’ve brought Brigid here today, to tell you why.

Claire: So, Brigid, bring everybody up to speed would you?

Brigid:  Sure, Claire.  Last Lughnasadh, my oldest brother Cian stumbled onto a portion of our mother’s spellbook.  The magic within was designed to destroy our sire, Drandar, and free us from the poison in our soul by giving us mortality.  There are eight of us, and I was the seventh to find her words—or rather Micah brought them to me.  Samhain is the next sabot night, and only my darkest brother remains.

Claire: But there’s some question about whether he would contribute to the destruction of Drandar right?  I mean… from everything I’ve heard… Taran isn’t exactly all light and goodness.  He’s rather fond of his dark habits.

Brigid:  I’m not so sure, to tell you the truth.  Taran and I have been close over the years.  There’s a lot more to him than appearances.

Claire:  Well, I guess anything might be possible.  After all, a lot of your family swore off you too.

(Brigid chuckles.)  They still do.  But Micah’s helping smooth things over.  Slowly.

Claire:  Yeah, that Micah is something.  Do you think you would have made the same decisions when you came across your mother’s magic if it weren’t for him?

Brigid:  No, I wouldn’t have.  I can tell you that with certainty.  Micah opened my eyes…to many things. Nobody else would have risked what he did for me.  My own family had cast me aside.

Claire:  Okay, back to Samhain since that’s what we’re supposed to be talking about.  How would you normally spend the sabot if your mother’s spellbook wasn’t in question?

Brigid:  Normally, I’d go to the standing stones behind the Scotland castle and accompany my brother, Fintan, as he led his coven through a sabot rite.  We’d light the bonfire, drum, welcome the guardians, say goodbye to the past year and welcome the new.  (She laughs.)  We’d have lots of food and wine after.  We keep things pretty traditional.

Claire:  And this year, if Taran does find the scroll, what do you think might happen?

Characterfest interview #27 with Keegan by Rosalie Lario

Please welcome Keegan and Rosalie Lario

ROSALIE LARIO
Keegan from BLOOD OF THE DEMON,
Book 1 of the Demons of Infernum

Hi everyone. I wanted to thank Laurie for allowing me to be a part of this year’s Characterfest! Today I’m going to be talking to Keegan, the hero in BLOOD OF THE DEMON. This is the first book in my Demons of Infernum series, which follows four half brothers who share the same demon father. They work as interdimensional bounty hunters for the Elden Council, which governs travel between dimensions. Even though they catch baddies for a living, and are therefore the good guys, they’ve got a little bad in them too. But then I suppose you’d need to in order to hunt down law-breaking demons and other paranorms! Without further ado, here’s Keegan:

Rosalie: So Keegan, what’s it like being an interdimensional bounty hunter?

Keegan: Well, I get to kick people’s asses for a living, so yeah, it’s good.

Rosalie: But it’s a pretty dangerous occupation, don’t you think?

Keegan: Where I come from, which is a dimension called Infernum, simply being alive is a risky proposition. There aren’t a lot of jobs, technology is non-existent, and food is scarce. Everyone’s dying to escape my world, so working for the Council and getting to travel to other planets is a dream come true.

Rosalie: So how’d you and your brothers score such a cushy gig?

Keegan: Our father is a demon who used to work for the Council as a scientist.

Rosalie: Oh, so he got you all your jobs?

RP: (with a nervous chuckle) I sense a bit of annoyance, so I shall just dive right in. So, Zeke. What makes you special?

ZL: (smirking) Special? We Lanistters are not ‘special,’ Robyn. We are, simply put, above the rest.

RP: (nodding slowly) I see. So the only thing that stands out about you is your family name?

ZL: (tilting his head with a too-sweet smile) If you keep pressing my buttons, you shall find out just what stands out about me in my world, dear.

***A virgin torn between two worlds…and two very sexy men.***
Marya Helwe is twenty-one, but she's never had a boyfriend. She's never been past second base for that matter. Her over-protective Syrian parents have ensured she's stayed as sheltered as possible, despite the fact Marya is American born and raised. But Marya manages to convince her parents to let her go on an archeological dig in Jordan, and she's determined to make the most of her first taste of independence.Almost instantly, Marya finds herself drawn to two very different men: Ash, a wealthy and dashing Jordanian, is exactly the kind of guy Marya's parents would have hand-picked for her; and Luke, an American archaeologist with a "bad boy" streak and a mysterious link to the ongoing Arab Spring. Ash pursues her, while Luke tries to avoid her, and as Marya untangles her feelings about both men, as well as herself, she catches the fever for freedom.
