Characterfest #29 three character interview with Gabrielle Bisset

I'm thrilled to be back once again for Characterfest here at Bitten By Paranormal Romance. Today I've got three of my vampires from the Sons of Navarus series to chat about all sorts of things. Before we begin, though, here's a little info on the Sons of Navarus series.

Eight vampire warriors chosen to defend their world against the Archon takeover, each dedicated to the war they must win. But there's another side to these Sons of Navarus—one that only the women they love know. Behind the strength they need to defeat their enemies lies a passion different in each one of the Sons. Their war will take them around the world and even involve the gods themselves, but they must unlock the secrets of the Prophecy of Idolas to defeat the Archons or perish in trying for none of their kind can be safe if the Archons win this battle.

Gabrielle:  Thank you so much for coming to talk with me tonight, gentleman. Let me introduce each of you. First, Vasilije, it's great to see you again. Your book Blood Avenged is the first one readers experience of the Sons.

Vasilije:  Love, it's always wonderful to see you. Any chance you've reconsidered my offer to sire you? You'd love being a vampire, pet. Trust me.

Gabrielle: (blushes and rolls her eyes)  I'm still thinking about it, Vasilije, but thank you. Okay, next is Saint, whose book Blood Betrayed is the second in the Sons of Navarus series.

Saint:  Gabrielle, it's great to see you again. He doesn't always act like that, does he? Do we need to douse you with cold water, Vasilije?

Vasilije:  Saint, our resident Puritan. Gabrielle knows I love teasing her. Don't worry about us.

Gabrielle:  And last, but not least, is Terek, whose book Blood Spirit is the third book in the series and the newest one, just released last month. I'm so glad you're joining us.

Terek:  Thanks, Gabrielle. It's great to be here. I don't think I've ever done an interview with any of the other Sons before. Something tells me it's going to be interesting.

Saint:  Or bloody. You can never tell with the Romanian here.

Vasilije:  Love, I know I promised to behave, but it seems like Saint's in a mood to fight tonight.

Gabrielle:  Terek, this is why I suggested you join us. These two are like oil and water.  But let's get started and remember what you promised me, both of you.  Vasilije, let's begin with you. For readers who have or haven't read Blood Avenged yet, tell us why they should begin with your book.

Vasilije:  The obvious answer is that it's about me.

Saint: (gapes in surprise) Wow...could you be more full of yourself?

Vasilije: (ignoring Saint)  But then there's also the fact that the Sons series is one in which all the books build upon one another, so if you start with Saint's, you miss out on the first book's information. And you miss out on meeting Sasa, the wonderful heroine of Blood Avenged.

Gabrielle: (putting her hand up toward Saint)  Before you say a thing, Saint, let me mention I knew Vasilije would answer like that. It's just who he is.

Saint:  An egotistical son of a bitch?

Gabrielle:  Moving on. Saint, your story in Blood Betrayed is about second chances at love. What can you say to readers about that?

Saint:  I'd say that no matter how long two people have been apart and what keeps them apart, love can still be there for them.

(Vasilije rolls his eyes.)

Gabrielle:  (scowls at him) Not a word, Vasilije. You promised.

(Vasilije jokingly zips his lips. Saint glares at him.)

Gabrielle:  How is Solenne, Saint?

Saint:  She's great. It's too bad she isn't here. I hear she told the Romanian off pretty good when I wasn't around.  I love a woman who can handle herself like she does.

(Vasilije begins to speak, but Saint leans over with an even more threatening glare.)

Gabrielle:  Vasilije, if you don't want to be on the end of Saint's fist, I'd stay away from saying another word. Terek, please, be my savior here.  Your book, Blood Spirit, is the newest book in the series. If Saint's is about second chances, then what would you say your story is about?

Terek: Finding what you've been searching for.

Gabrielle:  You're always so calm. Terek. Thank you for that, especially now. It's true. Ilona was exactly what you've been looking for since you became vampire in the 1300s.

Terek:  She is. And I'd like to think I'm something of what she's searched for.

Gabrielle:  I have to tell you all that I hear from readers all the time who have a favorite Son. Some love you, Vasilije, because your story is so sensual, Saint because you're so brooding, and you, Terek, because you've got that mystical vibe to you.

Vasilije: I think I saw a post you wrote about that.  Interesting. I'm always looking for new vampires to sire. Have anyone in mind?

Gabrielle:  I'll let you know. Okay, one last question: What's going to happen with the Archons?

Vasilije:  That's an easy one, love. They're going down.

Saint: At least the Romanian and I can agree on that. And that bastard Verrater is going to meet his maker by my hands.

Terek:  Don't worry, Gabrielle. We'll do what we have to do to save our world.  

Gabrielle:  Thanks so much for all three of you sitting down we me to talk. It's been interesting, as usual.
