This last year I read 222 books and  wrote 203 reviews, now I have no ideal how I am going to top that next year *sighs* There was 48 author interviews or guest authors and I meet some awesome authors. I hosted one  event, 7 days of summer erotica heat. This next year I have planned for 2 events and maybe more if all goes well.

Here is a list of my new favorite authors I discovered this year.
Stephaine Julian
Tina Folsom
Suzanne Rock
Kate Salidas
Patti O'Shea
Anitra Lynn McLeod
S.K Yule
Leah Braemel
I hope to find more in this next year.

I have read so may good books this year, that it made it really hard for be to decide on what to pick as my top pick books for this year. There were a couple that were hands down the best reads right off the bat. I really did try hard to only pick one book for each category, but sad to say there are a few I couldn't decide, so I am calling them a tie..

Shameless flirting only intensifies the itch to ride Jace hard and put him away wet—several times. It’s an itch it would be dangerous to scratch. Exposing her heart could reveal her secret, one that the still-grieving Jace must never know…or showing her mercy will be the last thing on his mind.

Secrets of the Night is a paranormal romance novella, that I found entertaining and fun to read. This is a short story with quite a bit of action, danger and throw in some desire between a vampire and a sorceress that are not suppose to be together makes for one hot book. I liked the story and the characters and can’t wait for the nest book in the series. I would love to tell you more, but the book description says enough, I’m not going to spoil any of the story. I recommend this to paranormal romance readers that would like a short sexy read. I can't wait for book 2!

http://tatianacaldwell.com/

Paranormal Romance / Erotica

There's much more to the fable of Rumpelstiltskin than you've been told …

Due to her father’s constant bragging, word of Anna Miller's beauty and virtue piques the interest of King Thomas. Upon taking the boasting of her father too literally, the king of Grimbros imprisons Anna and threatens to kill her and her father if she fails to spin straw into gold.

A mysterious and sensual magical being finds himself drawn to the castle--and the beautiful Anna. He offers his help in exchange for the most intimate, precious gifts she could possibly give. Soon Anna finds herself wanting far more from him than just his help. But he threatens to consume her and all that she holds dear.

Unless she says his name.

MY REVIEW:

SEXUAL:

Excellent Read! HOT!

When I think about this story it makes me smile because I love the way it was told and the ending was the best HEA. The author did a great job taking a fairy tale and adding an erotica twist to it - I can still visionize what happened and I absolutely love it. The story was so good I couldn't put the book down and read it within a couple of hours since it was only a little over 80 pages to read. Great read.

With her parents dead it’s up to her to financially support two teenage siblings and she wants to spread her wings by negotiating a billion dollar land deal. Only the landowner, a business mogul no one has seen in years isn’t interested in selling his mountain to a development corporation, and Randi sets out to change his mind any way possible, even if that means sleeping with the reclusive billionaire.

After two years, since his wife’s brutal murder, Nicholas "Nick" Wolfe prefers to mourn her than get involved in business. So he lives cut off from society on Wolfe Mountain. Through his attorney, he’s offered billions, but no one knows to what extent the value of the land is more than the inhabitants—the Lycans, human wolf-like animal shifters.

When Randi shows up on the mountain one rainy night, Nick tires to fight the desires of the wolf in him to take a mate. Unfortunately, nature has made it impossible to resist the animalistic urges strengthened by the influence of a full moon and the power of lust in this woman’s eyes. Can love know no bounds?

Randi has no idea of where this torrid affair can lead until she learns the gruesome details of a woman’s murder by a creature not quite human. Then she becomes the next target and she discovers how falling in love can lead to a fatal attack from a Lycan.

Sexual

If you’re looking for a demanding, brooding, and sinfully carnal Lycan, you found one in Nick Wolfe. There is enough rutting to keep you steaming through the coldest of winter’s days. It doesn’t take long and you find J.R./Nick and Randi horizontal, vertical, outside, in the bath, shower. There is just enough spanking, bondage, anal penetration, and PDA that should satisfy every sweet craving.

Randi Brown didn’t do her homework before heading up Wolfe Mountain; she was in such a hurry to land one of the biggest real estate deals of her career. Unfortunately, when she does arrive at the Wolfe place, the only one there is the caretaker, J.R., and she has no idea when or if Mr. Wolfe is going to show. Since she’s been without sex for two months now, she decides to take advantage of the situation when J.R. makes the first move.

Nick has chosen seclusion since the death of his wife two years ago. When Randi shows up on Wolfe Mountain, he is hard pressed to ignore the pull of the Lycan or the lust searing inside him. Her scent calls to him to mate. Try as he might to avoid her: Nope..nada..ain’t gonna happen!

Without her protests, there was nothing to stop him from making the bitch in heat his mate.

When I first started reading, I thought this was just another erotic (SEX) story with a werewolf thrown in for a twist. Well, for the first 85% that is: Trickle in here and there Wolves causing trouble, a mysterious stranger with a tale of death, and Nick’s unending quest to have Randi as his mate (even though she is unaware of his condition). Add a dash of suspense, a lover unmasked, and a first-rate erotic paranormal romance is complete.

Now, why, you ask -- just a 3 Howl? Nick bemoaned over his dead wife just way too much for me. Randi didn’t seem too concerned over her siblings -- once a hot guy was put in front of her! And she didn’t even play hard-to-get. I’m just sayin’!

Cover- I love it, but who can resist Jimmy?

This is one the hottest vampire erotic books I have ever read and loved every minute of it. I keep reading Tina’s books and as I read each one, I keep saying “she will never top the heat in that book.” Then I pick up another one and she proves me wrong, not that I mind, nope not one bit. Now fair warning you get a good storyline for a novella, but be prepared for plenty of wicked hot sex. There is anal play not only with the heroine, but also with the hero (no M/M.) You also get one scene that has voyeurism (its really hot). This relationship has some very light D/S at times and bondage and don’t let me get started on the bondage scene, it was so good, I had to read it twice.

For some reason I never thought about a vampire almost dying by drowning, other ways definitely I have, but this idea was different. I loved that the heroin saved the hero it was very exciting to read. The author ties everything and everyone together making this a fantastic read. The book description is enough to be said, I don’t want to spoil any of the exacting things to come.

Isabella is a strong heroine and I loved the way she would go out of her comfort zone and trust Raphael. Raphael is a excellent hero for Isabella. He is a vampire in need of companionship and he finds it with Isabella. Both together they have great compassion and passion with each other.

I recommend this book anyone that loves a quick novella with exciting hot sex and a very good storyline.

Now this is the book that inspired me to ask JennJ to make me a scorcher award, that how hot I found this book.....

Review Dead People by Edie Ramer

Title:Dead People
Author: Edie Ramer
Format: eBook novel
Genre:Paranormal romance- Ghost
Source: Requested review
Authors website

When Cassie Taylor talks, ghosts listen. She wants to heal their souls so they can leave earth. Brooding songwriter Luke Rivers wants to give his recently found daughter a normal home, but he discovers his new house in small town Wisconsin is haunted by a ghost with an attitude. His ghost whisperer has an attitude too — even before someone tries to kill her. So why does he have the hots for her? And why does she lust after him? He wants conventional; she wants acceptance. No wonder she thinks men are hard and dead people are easy.

My review.

Cover- I really love the cover, to bad its not in paperback...

Dead People is a delightful and romantic read that will stir your emotions. I had a good time reading this one and found myself laughing out loud at times. There is a mystery, danger, adventure and even some humor. I have to give Edie Ramer credit she adds a lot of sexual tension and the sex made me proud ( as a spicy romance reader), it was very well written. I am very impressed and can’t wait to read more by Ramer.

Cassie is a ghost whisper, her parents no longer wants to be in her life, her love life is by a dildo named Hunk, and her best friend is a ghost named Joe, so you know she’s in need of a pick me up. She takes a job from a song writer to get rid of his ghost problem. Cassie never expected to find herself in danger and falling in love at this same time. The thing is Cassie wants a man that will take her whole package, freaky ghost hunter side and all. I liked reading Cassie, she is very strong, but yet hesitant to take a chance.

Luke may take a bit to warm up to. You see he is not your typical hero that you like to read about, he doesn’t just pop in to save the day. He’s more of your everyday man that has been through a lot from his ex-wife and now he has a 10 year old girl that hates him. He has a hard time dealing with owning a haunted house, being a new dad then you throw a curvy ghost whisper that sparks his every need, so you know he is on overload. I did end up liking Luke and found I really felt for him at times.

Erin is Luke’s 10 year old daughter. She use to live with her mom and had a rough life. At times Erin got on my nerves while reading, but it did smooth out. At the end of the book I felt she added a lot to the story.

When A Mullo Loves a Woman is a story told by Pearl POV that focus’s on her life and what she really is. You see Pearl is a gypsy and she has no clue, until she goes to England and then she finds that her family has held lots of secrets from her. Now she has to deal with all kinds of supernatural things along with family issues that she knows nothing about.

This is not a book that focus on a romance between Pearl and who she is to be with, as in most romance books. There is a small romance after pg 155 and it is a reincarnation romance between her and Adam. I had to get past 70 pgs before I even found myself even wanting to try to finish the book. I did enjoy reading Pearl and her friends trying to fit the pieces together. I also enjoyed how the author ties everything at the end, so be prepared if you don’t finish this book you’ll never figure out how everything fits together.

Now if you’re a romance reader that loves to read the hero and heroin getting together (and I don’t mean sex) by the first few chapters, then you may want to check out more reviews before trying this book because as stated above this book is not like that. I like my romance books like that and I have to say I had a hard time finishing this book. If your one that likes to read about a lot of different supernatural things and can careless about romance then please give this book a try.

The reason the rating is so low. I didn't fell the focus on romance that I like in romance books and it just felt to much like a YA read with one small sex scene.

Two sexy shape-shifters, snow and some very hot sex in a cabin, who can ask for anything more, not me. This was a very exciting fast pace read, I just couldn’t turn the pages fast enough to see how it was all going to end up. I love how these authors write their shape-shifters cats and now I want more..… You find hot sex by a ménage trio M/F/M with anal play/intercourse, humor and some action. There is a good connection between these three.

Warning! These shifters give a back massage in their cat forms, so cute!!

Dakota never in her wildest dreams would have expected a vacation like this one. After finding she was the third wheel with her friend and fiancé, Dakota decided to take go on a tour by herself. What happened after she got into a Jeep to leave with the hot guide and the huge cougar was a total different story and a hot one at that because that is not a normal cougar. When Dakota, Axel and Gunnar finds themselves in a avalanche everything changes. Will things heat up more or fall apart? You have to read and find out. I love reading Dakota, she is strong and knows what she wants, as a matter a fact, she is the one who starts the first sex scene and I liked that change of pace.

You get 6 brothers in this shape-shifter family. Two of them will be the lucky winners for a mate in this book and they are Gunnar and Axel. These two have always known they would share a mate and when they find that special someone they would have to reveal themselves as shifters. When it was time for that to happen with Dakota, things just didn’t go as planned and in the turn of events to come they just may lose her. I liked both Gunnar and Axel both has different attitudes. I also loved how both of them shared being the cat.

I also really liked the sister Heidi and the rest of the characters. I would recommend this book to erotic paranormal lovers, especially if you like shape shifting large cats. I hope there will be more books for these great characters.

CONTROL FREAK: BRANDON’S STORY

September 2010
Erotic Short Story

Reena Jacobs

Brandon is an overworked husband with a wife who wants a little too much. Sex, that is. When his wife starts throwing him hints about bondage and masochism, he's sure she's flipped. In the end, Brandon must decide which lines he's willing to cross for the women he loves.

Sexual

Regina plays the sex card with Brandon, withholding any and all until he surrenders to her desires. She wants something more than vanilla sex in the bedroom. Whereas, Brandon doesn’t know if he can perform up to her expectations, nor does know if he wants to. Finally, after several days of enduring Regina’s relentless prick-teasing, Brandon takes the upper hand.

Yes, this is a short story all right, 10 pages. This is written from Brandon’s POV, which I enjoyed very much. I liked the banter between Regina and Brandon: She would push his buttons; he would squirm.

As a note, this is not a romance, but an erotic short story. As the couple is married, it does have an HEA. However, when I see the words “bondage” and “masochism” in a book blurb that is what I am expecting. What I read was more of a “slap and tickle”. In spite of this, I expect to see more of Ms. Jacobs writing in the future.

Guest author Laura Hunsaker with giveaway of Highlander Destiny

Please welcome Historical author Laura Hunsaker!!

I started writing this as the typical author bio, and how I got into writing...and I then I chucked it.  I wanna talk hunky Alpha Males. Why do you think women want to read about Alphas? My answer is probably totally unrealistic, but I'd love to be looked at by some incredibly hot laird, or werewolf, or vampire, and just be told "Woman, you are mine." Then he'd haul me over his shoulder and take me to his man-cave and we'd spend endless nights exploring each others' bodies and falling asleep sated and in love.

Riiiight.

In real life, if some guy told me that, I'd think "Stalker!"  But in Romancelandia, it works.  Why is that?

I got to thinking that it might be the whole fantasy thing. I read for both escapism, the chance to "be" someone else, if only for a few hours. And I read because it's more fun for me than TV (granted with 2 small kids, my tv programs are usually Spongebob and the Wiggles). But  If you read some of those early bodice rippers (the kind with Fabio on the cover), you get a lot of forced seduction.  And they would fly off the shelves! Why? What's the draw?  And I truly think it's because in our fantasies, we are "safe."  But in my fantasy, maybe I don't want safe...

Well, my fantasy started with me and some hottie Scottie hunky highlander (I'm known as the Highland Hussy after all).  But I still want to be my snarky sarcastic lovely self with this chauvinistic Scottish Alpha male.  Instantly I've time-traveled to Scotland.  But I need him to not only believe me, but believe in me as well.

And that's how I started my book, Highland Destiny.

I'm not some super kick-ass heroine like Buffy, but I am a strong woman of the 21st century and I wanted my character to reflect that.  I know we suspend belief when we read fiction, but I don't want it to be too "out there." So I made Mackenzie a believable girl from our time.  But something has to tie her to my Alpha male's century. So I gave her a dream.  A recurring nightmare that she's had since she can remember.  And spoiler alert...it's not about our hero Connor.

So how does she get him to believe she's not just a nut job or a witch?  How does she show him that she's not affiliated with his rival clan, as he is led to believe? All these things factor into how my Alpha hero is going to treat her, and how she's going to not only deal with the time-travel, but how will she survive?

Highland Destiny blurb:

Mackenzie Stewart’s in Scotland for a much-needed vacation.  During the castle tour, Mackenzie becomes completely enamored with a painting of one of the previous lairds.  Two gentlemen come up behind her and, begging her pardon, they kidnap her, dragging her through time.
The men are sorcerers attempting to end a feud that has plagued their lands for years.  Their patron has begun to dabble in the black arts, and between his irrational thirst for power, and his dark secret, the sorcerers are frightened.  They believe Mackenzie can break the Stewart curse.  They try to convince her to play along with their crazy scheme: marriage to the evil John Campbell.
Before Mackenzie can protest, her carriage is halted and the door thrown open.  For a split-second she is arrested by the same beautiful piercing blue eyes that belonged in an oil painting.
Mackenzie then finds herself the victim of a second kidnapping!
Her new captor, however, does nothing but tempt her body and her temper.  Believing her to in fact be the betrothed of his mortal enemy the Campbell, Connor originally sets out to capture his enemy’s betrothed.  He never thought he would be so attracted to her that he’d want to keep her.

December 2010 Discussion of the month. Book social cataloging sites.

Ok. I hope I titled this one right. Our discussion this month is, book social cataloging sites.

Places I know of is Goodreads, Shelfari and librarything.

What's your favorite place to keep track of your books?
Do you have more then one?
Which one do like the least?
Any other comments about social Cataloging?

My favorite place is Goodreads. I love the easy flow and I have no problems finding a book to mark to read.
Yes, I use both goodreads and shelfari.
My least favorite is Shelfari. I find it hard to use the site and to tell you the truth I have a hard time finding a book on there.
What I like most is the friends I have made on these sites.

Desperate to escape her controlling family, Chloe Bradford scrambles up to the housetop of her Texas home on Christmas Eve. There she discovers a sexy stranger cloaked in shadow. He convinces her to shed her good-girl image and give into her most secret desires. The man's low, raspy voice tugs at her memory as much as it awakens her passion. Is he a Christmas miracle, or some figment of her imagination? When he tries to leave, she follows him, eager to learn his identity.

Zach can't stop thinking about Chloe, or their reunion on the roof. His wolf-half urges him to reveal his identity and claim her, but he doesn't dare. For both their sakes, he must remain in the shadows until he can control his inner beast's bursts of rage. After a decade of struggle he thought he could handle his curse, but Chloe's presence causes his control to slip. As the moon-rages become more frequent, he knows he's slipping toward the insanity that claims many of his kind. Only Chloe can save him, but he broke her heart over a decade ago. Her forgiveness would be the real Christmas miracle.

Don't let the cover fool you, its paranormal romance.

Up on the Housetop is a steaming paranormal romance story, that I really enjoyed. I was suppose to have been reading another book instead of this one, but by the time I looked at my kindle and seen the name of the book I was too involved with reading it to put on by breaks and stop. This is a great story about finding a lost love. I loved the emotions, passion and connection between the hero and heroine.

Chloe had enough for one night and goes up on her housetop to escape life. She ends up yelling at the moon and throwing her bottle of champagne off the roof, think about how her life has taken this turn. As she is going through things in her mind about her past life, she finally notices her bottle never hit anything, she then asks if someone is out there? After a few times of asking, someone appears behind her and she is faced with a man that seems familar in ways. What connection does she have, this unknown man? You’ll have to read and find out. I will say this is an emotional read and some things maybe hard to take in, just remember if you lost your loved one and they never contacted you and you moved on in life then all the sudden they are there, you may not do things as you think.

Zach can’t take it anymore, he has to go and get his love The thing is he has changed in more ways then one and Chloe may not be able to handle what he has become. I loved the way Zach is persistent and won’t let Chloe go.

I recommend this to erotic paranormal romance readers.
