December 2010 Discussion of the month. Book social cataloging sites.

Ok. I hope I titled this one right. Our discussion this month is, book social cataloging sites.

Places I know of is Goodreads, Shelfari and librarything.

What's your favorite place to keep track of your books?
Do you have more then one?
Which one do like the least?
Any other comments about social Cataloging?

My favorite place is Goodreads. I love the easy flow and I have no problems finding a book to mark to read.
Yes, I use both goodreads and shelfari.
My least favorite is Shelfari. I find it hard to use the site and to tell you the truth I have a hard time finding a book on there.
What I like most is the friends I have made on these sites.

Discussion of the month Nov. 2010

Looking back over some of the books you have read do you have a favoirte or two that you'd just love to see made into a movie?

I think I would love to see Shadow of the Vampire by Meagan Hatfiled and Merrywether Lodge Pauline Holyoak. I wish I could see more action in romamce movies.
So what would yours be?

Discussion of the month Sept. 2010

For these of you that has a job and kids, how do you find a chance to read?

I home-school my daughter and find at times that I just don't seem to have enough time to read. So I wanted to ask this to see what others does to get their fix in and maybe I can find more ways to read.

Discussion of the month

I have been slack on my discussion of the month, so I trying to get the groove back going. So here's this months discussion

Where is your favorite place to by books? I am like you looking for new and cheap places to buy a book. If you have some please tell so we can share.

I buy my new books from BAM.COM I find them most of the time cheap for new books. But for my erotic I seem to find Amazon the cheaper between the two. I also use a local used book store here in my town Bettie's. I don't do bookswap for one I don't give up my books unless I really don't like them. Yes, I am a re-reader:P).

May's topic/discussion post

Our topic/discussion for the month of May is: Compare between Paranormal Romance and Urban Fantasy which one do you like best and why?

The biggest reason I like PNR over UF is at the end there is the happy ever after, so there is no guess work (I hate guess work;)in who is she going to be with next time or will they still even be alive. Then there is the sex yep I have to have it;) and most UF either doesnt have sex in them or there is a little, I really dont mind a little just as long as the rest of the book has quite a bit of action. My favorite PNR series is Dark-Hunters by Sherillyn Kenyon

I really like the darker side to the UF. Plus you get more of women in action roles. My favorite so far is by Diana Rowland, Kara Gillian series

My thing is I hate to try UF because I find they do have one guy they the next book they have another guy or at least the ones I've tried. If you are huge UF fan and know of books that they are with the same partner through out the whole series and would like to let me know, please do. I would love to read them.

So whats you take on this? Do you like PNR better then UR or the other way around or do like both the about the same?

Do you have a favorite PNR series? Do you have a favorite UF series?
