I have been slack on my discussion of the month, so I trying to get the groove back going. So here's this months discussion
Where is your favorite place to by books? I am like you looking for new and cheap places to buy a book. If you have some please tell so we can share.
I buy my new books from BAM.COM I find them most of the time cheap for new books. But for my erotic I seem to find Amazon the cheaper between the two. I also use a local used book store here in my town Bettie's. I don't do bookswap for one I don't give up my books unless I really don't like them. Yes, I am a re-reader:P).
I usually buy new release mass market paperbacks and trade-size paperbacks from BN.com because I'm part of their prefered membership program and get free express shipping, plus there's a discount. I buy older mass markets from Amazon because they have the 4-for-3 deal. Lately I've been buying a lot of erotica eBooks from All Romance eBooks. They have the option to pay with Paypal, which I like a lot!
ReplyDeleteI also buy my books from a local book shop called 'Chapters'. It's great and cheap enough :) Or if I can't find the book I'm looking for, I buy it on ebay :)
ReplyDeleteI'm like you on bookswapping. I don't swap them unless I don't want to read them again, and that's not a lot. But I still go to the two used book stores here in my hometown; Book End and Book Exchange. Other than that, I usually go to Amazon and Books-A-Million.
ReplyDeleteSince I use PayPal to buy them and do not have to pay S&H or taxes The Book Depository gets most of my new book business for MMPB and Trade. I use Rhapsody Book Club for my Hardback books I buy but only when I get the new releases I want on their sales for 50% off the Publishers Price which in most cases means less than $7.00 a book.... If I cannot hold off and wait for the special then I can still get the books that I mostly want for $12.99 and all the books are new....
ReplyDeleteMy favorite places for used books takes some effort to order online and they are these 2 : http://www.betterworldbooks.com/ and the best one is http://www.bookcloseouts.com neither of which have I used lately though as been buying new and getting the used from Paperbackswap..
My favorite Used bookstores are 100 mile round trip so do not get there to 1/2 Price books very often anymore..
jackie ^_^
I buy most of my print books from Amazon. I rarely buy used books unless it's a hard to find book. Other times I shop at the local Books-A-Million.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you Laurie you know I frequent Bettie's here in town and the only other bookstore I go to very often around here in town is Books-A-Million. If I'm shopping online I usually go to Amazon because they do have them cheaper there than most other places.
