Paranormal Suspense Author – Pauline Holyoak
Merryweathger Lodge – Ancient Revenge.. The first of a trilogy.. ”A supernatural thriller that keeps you on the edge.” A perfect Christmas gift for those with a sense of adventure!
About me…
I grew in Southeast England, in a coal mining village my husband calls, “The place that time forgot.” It is nested between the notorious city of Canterbury and the medieval town of Dover. I came to Canada as a nanny, when I was 21. This vast and majestic country has served me well, but England will always be home. I live in Alberta (western Canada) with my sports crazy husband, adorable Sheltie dog and cantankerous ginger cat. We have two grown children. They are the gems in my treasure chest. I love this part of the world, except for the winters. It can be a chilly minus -30 for days on end. Burr…..
I love horror movies and being scared…Not the… “Hey I think I smell smoke” scared, but the creepy, spine-chilling, spooky stuff scared. When I was a young girl my friend and I would wander through the local graveyard just before dark, read the tombstones and make up stories about the people that were buried there. Good grief….I was weird.
I ran away from home when I was 17 years old, to join a band of hippies and live on the streets of London. I went to challenge the establishment, proclaim peace, escape from the hum-drum village life and find myself. I lived in la…la…land with the flower children for a year but I never did find myself. I have now. Thank God!
I don’t eat mammal and would like to be a vegetarian but I like my fish and chips too much.
Every summer, when I was a child, we would visit my aunt and uncle at their quaint little cottage on Salisbury Plain. It was called Scotland Lodge and was situated not far from the historical Stonehenge. My uncle worked as a farm hand for the local squire. My aunt tended the manor house. It was there as I roamed free, deep within the English countryside, that I experienced joy, enchantment and some very strange and frightening occurrences. It was like a fairytale kingdom with a sinister twist. The memories of my summers at Scotland Lodge have stayed with me as a sort of nagging unsolved mystery all my life. A few years ago I revisited my childhood wonderland (the old place still emanates a strange and eerie essence) and was lead by some mysterious force into concocting this story and writing this book. It is from my mystifying experiences at Scotland Lodge that this book has emerged.
My life has been a fascinating journey so far but nothing compares to my mystifying summer holidays at Scotland Lodge.
Book blurb…..
When Emily Fletcher meets the gorgeous Jonathan McArthur she is infatuated and consumed with passion. Will he go with her to the dreaded wood-lot, to remove the bloody ancient curse, before it’s too late? In the first half of my story Emily is fourteen years old. In the second half she is forced to return to the cottage, at the age of twenty. My novel contains elements of horror, humor, fantasy, romance and sex. I have created a world into which my readers can escape and an atmosphere that will evoke their imagination, stir their emotions and engage their senses.
Excerpt.…”Let’s go somewhere privet.” She said, grabbing my arm. She guided me to the passage and plunked me down on the bottom step of the attic stairs. My back straightened. Panic rose within me as an icy shiver ran down my spine. It was as if I had been lead to an old cemetery, sat on a grave and left among the tomb stones.
“That was her room you know.” She said as she pointed up the stairs.
“Who’s?”
“Mary Eliss.”
I turned my head ever so slowly and drew eyes up to the portal at the top of the stairs. I shivered and quickly looked way. “I know it was.”
In a low voice she whispered. “Do you suppose she’s still up there?” Then she grinned mischievously.
I looked into her strange glassy eyes. “She was, the last time I was here and I have a feeling she hasn’t left.”
My advice for would-be authors…..Learn to live with rejections, don’t let them bother you. Believe in yourself and your work. Never, ever give up on your dreams. Faith, perseverance and steely determination are what all successful authors have in common.
I am now working on the second book of my trilogy… Merryweather Lodge – The Malevolent Spirit…Find out if Emily gets to make mad, passionate love to Jonathan , just like she does in her dreams….?
Merryweather Lodge – A quaint little cottage, steeped in history, shrouded in secrets, its aura a paradoxical essence of heaven and hell. Go into this book if you dare and experience my protagonist’s strange and eerie journey there…. . Available at http://www.whiskeycreekpress.com/
The next big book craze…...Stonehenge!

For a SonRise, there must be a SonSet.
In 1941, the souls of two Romanian farmers are stolen by war. On the streets of Odessa, Ukraine, innocence offers their return. But can the soldiers afford the price?
Also included is a freshly edited first chapter of Huntsmen 1: Lights Out! by Amber Green here the mini-blurb for her novel:
In a world at war, twin brothers battle the monstrous Hydes for control of the blacked-out city streets. Having traded her ass for a role in the fight, Lorie can survive only by accepting the power of desire.

A good quick erotic read with some hot dominant werewolf D/S sex. I liked both characters and the relationship between them. The story is ok wish it could have been a little longer. You get quite a bit of action not only in bed but fighting.
Vivian is an alpha female. She is strong and takes care of her pack, but she needs an alpha male in bed.
Fergus is an alpha that comes upon an alpha female fighting a bunch of rogue werewolves. He finds she is the one he is looking for in more ways than one. I recommend this to someone that wants a hot quick read.

As World War II heats up, so does the secret battle on the home front. For two touch-starved werewolf warriors, mating is more than pleasure—it’s a matter of survival. Vivian heals the fissures in Fergus’s humanity. Though he saved Vivian’s life, she’s an Alpha bitch unable to meekly submit to any male. Both try to dominate the other, when surrendering to their deepest desires is the only chance for victory.
Along with my novella, there’s an original short story by KevaD, SonSet here’s that mini-blurb:For a SonRise, there must be a SonSet.

This is a good short story and I enjoyed reading it. There is nothing special to the story, but it has some great manage m/f/m sex, with some back door action. I did like the characters and liked the storyline.
These three have been friends for a very long time. Maggie got married and is now single and is living back home.
Quinn and Lucas are now bear shape-shifters and both of them have been in love with Maggie forever. Now that she is home and loose from her nut of a husband they make their play for Maggie. But can Maggie handle two lovers with the added special ability they can turn into? I would suggest this to anyone that wants a quick hot paranormal read.

A scandalously good mystery with an added scandal adventure, who can resist a great scandal, not me;) I enjoyed the story, but it did tend to be slow along with the romance. The last chapter left me saying “I freaking want the next book NOW!!” This is not a sexual tension hot romance, the romance builds as you read actually these two don’t really get along well until past the middle of the book. I liked the surprises and the setting, I think it a good start to a series.
Keria swaps places with Lily. So Lily the now countess goes to Italy and Keria goes and plays Countess, but when she gets to the estate she knows she has really made a mistake. She now has to much on her plate to take care of. For one its very hard to keep pretending to be Lily then when she finds Declan there it makes it worse because he knows she is not Lily. She ask him for help to find out who really sold the jewels, he denies her at first, then he caves and helps. The more Declan helps with the investigation the more he ends up getting involved with Keria. Its made it more of an interesting read to see how deep Keria gets into things before Lily shows up.
I liked Keria, but Declan not so much his is typical man that doesn’t want to be tied down in anyway, so you know he gets some side sex, at least these two are not in a relationship when his is with the other lady . He’s not helpful at first and he does everything to turn her away. I also had a problem with the way the h/h was just cut off at the end, they get a HEA but it was just to short.

After Sir Robert's return, noble guests arrive from France, bringing intrigue to the castle. William is oblivious to the politics, as he's distracted by nightly visits from a faceless lover—a man who pleasures him in the dark and then leaves—a man he soon discovers is none other than his master, Sir Robert.

The story is told from the viewpoint of William. He’s frustrated because he is well past the age when he should have his “spurs” and be a knight. Just like your typical eighteen year-old (well, for Medieval England), William is brash and pretentious. He also has all the qualities you would find in an aspiring knight: Honor, loyalty, sincerity. I thoroughly enjoyed watching William as he struggled with becoming a knight and with his intense feelings for Robert. William is confident in his training as a knight, but whenever Robert is near watching him: Two left feet!
The relationship between William and Robert develops slowly. All the while, the authors hook you with a seductive Sir Robert; who is very patient with William. I picture Robert as being a bit older than William and much wiser; thus, teacher and student.
A theme that plays throughout is William’s inner struggle: His conflict between his love for Robert and his faith. How can something that is so genuine be considered evil?
A very enjoyable read; even for a novella. And you know me and novellas! Just think of the meat it could have had as a full length novel…….

William wanted to be Robert’s equal, yes, in virtues. And if what he felt and what they did in pursuit of physical pleasure was a true sin, then he wanted to be equal in this sin, too. Maybe such a sin would be forgiven if he possessed enough of the other virtues? It was heartbreaking to watch William question his love for Robert.

Rae Wilder has problems. Plunged into a world of dark magic, fierce creatures and ritual sacrifice, she is charged with a guarding a magical amulet. Rae finds herself beaten up, repeatedly, and forced to make a choice: to live and die human, or embrace her birth-right and wield magics that could turn her into something wicked, a force of nature nothing can control.
REVIEW:

Brutally Horrifying! Gory Filled Dark Paranormal!
First let me state that this is a Young Adult Read and that this is usually not my type of read so the rating in my opinion may be off for some of the younger groups. My rating is 2 ½ Stars but am rounding up to a 3 Star.
Definitely a book full of the dark side of paranormal! The author has created a world filled with Demon Fairies, Vampires, Voodoo Witch Magic and Humans strive to co-exist. If you like the brutal savagery sacrifice of innocent humans, gory details where blood and guts drip from head decapitations, then this is the book for you. It took me a little bit to get into the book and I thought the last two chapters of the book was the best part.
The romance was mild but sweet between Rae and Breandan her bonded Fairy-boy but Rae seems to be fond of Tomas whom she calls her Vampire-boy.
Rae, a demon fairy is charged with guarding a magical amulet, an amulet with elemental source power. Devlin, the High Lord of the Fairy Kind has become pure evil with evil intentions towards his own people. Between Lochlann , Breandan (Fairy-boy), Tomas (Vampire-boy), and Rae’s brother Conall, the adventure to overtake Devlin the High Lord is within reach between the fast action in this book but the author has left us hanging in the end.
There will be a follow up to this book – “A Demon Day” – Coming Summer 2010

Intense Hot Read! EROTICA GALORE!
Remind me to stay away from were-bears - LOL
Wow, to be a female Bear must be a bitch to have to have more than one male to get satisfyingly sated. Five Males in one night - Pleasure Galore.
The story was short and extremely Sexually HOT when these five brothers bring their future mate into their home and finally bring her release when she goes through her first change as a Bear.
The story was so intense that I had the whole book read within a couple of hours. However, I didn't like that it was all brothers mating to the same female but other than that, the story was interesting. One thing for sure, I would NOT make a good bear because I don't like to share - LOL

Sophia is on her way to her first Halloween gathering for witches when her broomstick breaks down. Luckily, she lands at a garage where a hunky mechanic, after a spell of persuasion, agrees to act as chauffeur.
Aidan is more than just a sexy driver though. As a wolf shapeshifter, magic doesn’t affect him, but he’s not immune to the powerful draw of his true mate. Mating should be simple, but he didn’t count on a stubborn witch making abduction his only option.
With the factions they belong to discouraging mixed species mating, will they find love like fate intended?

Broomstick Breakdown is delightful, wicked and spellbounding. Are you one that loves a good sizzling hot chase between the H&H? If you are well you have to add this novella to your list and its here just in time for your Halloween fun. What I found in the book was a great cast of characters there is even the Prince Dark Lord himself that makes an appearance along with other paranormal creatures . The sexual tension is sizzling hot between these two. I loved the ending everyone needs a little different twist on what mixed paranormal creatures can or may have as kids. It shows how creative Eve Langlais is.
Sophie is a witch that ends up in need of a broom, but instead she gets a hot werewolf giving her a ride to the witches gathering that either one will never forget. I loved reading this sexy story, at first you think they will fall together and get it on, but nope. The next thing Sophie finds herself being kidnapped by that hot werewolf himself. What will happen between them both? You’ll have to read and find out, I will say its not quick because mixing between a witch and a werewolf just doesn’t happen. I would recommend this to anyone that loves a quick erotica or paranormal romance.

Please welcome erotic romance author Eve Langlais. I have read three of Eve's books in the last few weeks and loved them. I suggest this book highly and please check out her website for more of her wonderful books. Eve is also another great author to talk to so don't be shy.
Bad girls need love too
I always wanted to be a bad girl. I still do. You see them all the time in films, on TV and in books, getting killed, ridiculed, or abandoned for a life of loneliness. I'm talking the evil sorceress in fairy tales, the wicked witch astride her broom, the soul sucking succubus with the hot body, or how about the corporate bitch who runs her competitors into the ground. Now those are bad girls, and if you ignore the fact they sometimes like to kill people and have it out for the goody-two-shoes heroine, they're really cool. Not to mention they have the best powers. However finding a story where these naughty vixens fall in love is so rare.
Is there some unwritten rule that only TSTL heroines should get their man? That totally sucks. I freely admit, I sometimes get tired of the whining and soul searching that comes with the heroine doing the right thing. Bad girls don't hesitate, they act--sometimes with deadly consequence, but hey, at that least they're not insipidly indecisive.
If I had to choose what kind of evil lady I'd be, I think I'd go for witch. The ability to cast spells, wear slinky black gowns and broom riding sound so freaking cool. And, if anyone messed with me, I'd turn them in to a frog. Muahahahaha! See, I've even practiced the husky, evil villainess laugh another cool thing that bad girls get to do. Ooh, and I have the bright red lipstick to go with my naughty thong panties. J
Cool looks, awesome powers, the only thing missing is a man. You see, bad girls need love too, and yet so often, if she refuses to turn over a new leaf, the hero walks away leaving her all alone. Screw that. Wicked ladies need real men, not morally upstanding dweebs. They need a guy who understands sometimes violence is the only recourse. A man who lets no one step all over him, and who's willing to flatten anyone who looks at his girl cross eyed. In other words, a bad boy--a yummy, muscled, dressed in denim and leather, hunk.
The next time you see an evil sorceress get shafted, a corporate ice queen hiding her loneliness behind pink slips, or a wicked witch turned into a puddle of goo by a TSTL heroine in ruby red shoes, give a boo. It's time we demanded that bad girls get a HEA of their own, or at the very least a man who will love her just the way she is--and kick the ass of anyone who tries to change her.
LOL, if you could be any kind of bad girl, who and what would you be? Would your evil know any bounds?
If you're looking for a story of a not-so-nice witch who gets what she deserves--an alpha of her own--then check out Wickedest Witch, now available from Liquid Silver books. I've included a blurb, but for an excerpt and more please see my website at http://www.evelanglais.com/
Thank you for engaging the services of Wicked Incorporated where the insults are given for free.
Evangaline is not a very nice witch, but ask her if she cares. She does however have a healthy sexual appetite, and when an uncouth shifter starts appearing in her fantasies, it's not long before she makes her erotic mind play a reality. But everyone knows a wicked witch can't fall in love, or can she?
Ryker, a hot and muscled shifter, knows his size and domineering presence intimidates women, all except for one curvy witch he just can't get out of his mind. Set to a task only the two of them can accomplish, he discovers wickedness has its uses, especially in the bedroom.
Dealing with vamps, a wedding from hell and a cackling gnome named Rumpelstiltskin, will these two wicked beings survive and, even more disturbing, decide to stay together?
Eve is giving away a PDF copy of Wickedest Witch. Please leave a comment or question with your email, so I can let you know your the winner. This ends 11/3/10

What do you get when you mix a sexy hot headed shape-shifter cat and a truly wicked witch? A dangerously steamy romance! I found this book full of humor and exciting to read. I have been reading a lot of short novellas lately and I have found all of them are really quick to read, but for some reason this went much slower and I don’t mean that in a bad way either, all I know is I enjoyed it and savored every bit.
Evangaline, is one very wicked witch, so wicked she turned her last lover into a rat and I wont mention what else she has done;) Ryker is huge hot shape shifter, some women see him and finds him so domineering they faint and that’s not good. When Ryker and his cat meets this wicked witch he just can’t resist this fireball especially when he sees all the curves she has without her glamour. When these two stubborn hot heads gets an assignment together there is nothing to stop the intense sexual tension that is between them. Just remember these two are stubborn so you get a good chase. Here is a good hint there is some hot sex in a car in this one;)
This book has so many fun witty passages. I just has to add this huge one that I loved;)
Evangaline waggled her fingers and … nothing happened. Frowning, she wiggled
them again and pushed harder at her magic. Again, nada.
The drunken idiot laughed. “Sorry, little witch. I’m protected against direct magic,
being a shifter and all, but I promise I can still make lots of magic in the bedroom.”
Figured the idiot with the crass pickup lines would be a bloody shifter and immune
to her spells. Not really a problem, Evangaline had more than one trick up her sleeve.
Hooking her foot around the bottom of the stool he’d perched on, she yanked it and
dumped her would-be suitor on the floor. She also poured her glass of wine over him for
good measure
This book gets Top Bite Award.

Guest Post Em Petrova
Please welcome erotic romance author Em Petova.
Child's Play
By Em Petrova
Halloween is over, the trip to the dentist to nix those cavities is planned, and my children's beloved costumes are stashed in a drawer. Halloween is my favorite holiday, and probably many of yours. After it's over, I feel a letdown. No more little ghouls and goblins traipsing up to my door, or happy jack-o-lanterns grinning from porches. Then I realized that for those of us who are avid paranormal or fantasy readers, we can continue to live it every day.
As kids, we dig through our grandmother's costume jewelry, put on our mother's high heels, and sometimes even cross-dress in our daddy's belts and ties. When we grow up, our imaginations and a world of books carry us away into foreign lands and, if we're lucky, transport us into the psyches of the characters we read about. For a few priceless minutes a day (or more, if we call for a pizza!), we get to try on new hats, silk gloves, stolen diamonds, and even a hot new mate or two.
In my debut book, Runes, I've created a world where immortals Walk amongst mortals. Each immortal has a tattoo which is unique to the owner, and reflective of his or her traits. My hero, a mathematical genius, has cramped rows of numbers spanning his six-pack, and his immortal mate sports a stunning collection of runes and stars which climb her throat and end at the corner of her eye.
As I write, I get to explore new personas and worlds with the careless abandon of a child. No wonder I adore my job! As readers, writers, or both, books inspire our imaginations and allow us to escape the humdrum--swim lessons, dog grooming, lunch packing. For a few minutes a day, we get to be that girl who wins the hunk or robs a bank to pay her bills. If she's lucky, she gets a happily ever after. When we read, aren't we actually playing? Practicing for our own happily ever after's?
I'd love to hear about your favorite book and how it has inspired you. Leave a comment and enter to win a free copy of RUNES. I'll announce the winner on Friday, November 5! Please read on for an excerpt of Runes, available now from Red Sage. And thank you to Bitten by Paranormal Romance for welcoming me today.

Blurb: When immortals Will and Evangeline are thrown together by a phenomenon known as The Calling, they share their blood and bodies, entwining their minds and souls. But Evangeline has been yanked from the arms of her mortal love, Sean, and the echo of his touch never leaves her. Will and Sean make a pact to share the woman they love and find new desires arising in the arms of each other.
RUNES EXCERPT: ADULT CONTENT
RUNES--a paranormal ménage a trois available from Red Sage Publishing. ~Two men learn to satisfy their lusts for one woman, and eventually each other~
When Will Cochran straightened away from the woman on the bathroom floor, they were both bleeding. She was not fully conscious, but he had to escape before she recognized him. He grabbed a hand towel from the sink, clutched it to his bleeding forearm and swung toward the door.
She would be all right. It might take a few hours for the drugs to wear off, but eventually she would awaken to a new existence. Before he disappeared through the doorway and from her life, he allowed himself a final glance.
Sprawled on the white floor tile, she looked waifish and vulnerable. She wore dark clothing--a black off-the-shoulder top and dark violet miniskirt that matched the purple streak at the front of her pixie-short black hair. The blood had ceased to flow from the wound on her neck, and as he watched, the blue-black lines of runes and dainty stars climbed the bare flesh of her shoulder, up her throat, to curl around her ear and end in a spattering of stars across her temple--the immortal tattoo.

Genre: Paranormal Romance (MFM)

Forget ghosts who rattle chains, try living with ones that like to grope.
Jenna, desperate for change, buys a repossessed home on a whim. The townsfolk claim it's haunted, but Jenna's pretty sure all it needs is some filler to stop the drafts. But before long, even she has to admit, there's more going on here than the vagaries of an old house. And whatever it is keeps making her panties damp and her dreams hot.
Derrick and Mark, werewolf twins, are stuck in their house as disembodied spirits all because of an evil witch. When their fated mate suddenly becomes the new owner, they end up taking haunting to a whole new erotic level.
Can Jenna save the alpha brothers and if she does, can she handle a forever after with not one, but two men?

A sexy and witty story! I have been enjoying reading short novellas during the weekends, its quick enough that I still have time to do things I need to on the weekends. This book has a good connection between the h/h along with a storyline and some sizzling sex, I was on happy street. This is paranormal romance with m/f/m and back door action and the heroin is a little on the plus size, so that equals all of my favorites. I had so much fun reading this story.
I loved the Halloween addition to the story along with the villain witch. The two sexy hero werewolves and heroine just made my day. The book description says enough, I will add this is a quick set up between the hero’s and heroine, but I just keep in mind this is fiction and as long as I am having fun and enjoying reading it hey, I’m not going to complain one bit. I recommend this to erotic and paranormal romance readers.

Interview with Anitra Lynn McLeod
Today is Anitra's interview. This is a fun interview, I wanted something different since she had a guest post about her new release of Thief on Saturday. So here is a chance to know a little bit more about Anitra.
Laurie-Would you please tell us something no one knows about yourself?
Laurie-Would you please tell us something no one knows about yourself?Anitra-I can't believe I'm going to tell this but I like to wear manties. Man panties. Boxers. They are so much more comfortable than women's underwear. But don't tell anyone else; people will think I'm weird! :)
Anitra-Since it's Halloween I really love Lost Boys and Young Frankenstein.
Laurie-Do you have any pets and if so, what kind?
Anitra-I have fish. My cats and my dog have passed on. I miss them a lot. The fish are pretty but not very cuddly.
Laurie-What is your favorite vacation spot?
Anitra-The Colorado River. I like to raft down to a private spot and camp out.
Laurie-Where is your favorite place to eat?
Anitra-At home. I love to cook and I'm quite good at it. :)
Laurie-If you could live anywhere in the world, where would that be?
Anitra-In a cabin in the woods near water. It's been a dream of mine since I was a kid.
Ronda-Do you have a favorite quote that you live by? or Do you have a favorite quote you'd like to share with us?
Anitra-Ask; the worst they can say is no. My other favorite quote is one of my own: I'm a reading ho; anything, anywhere, anytime. :)
Kris-What is your favorite hobby and what aspect of it draws you to the hobby
Anitra-Reading, writing, and white-water rafting. I love discovering whole new worlds in books, I love creating worlds when I write, and I love exploring the world in a boat.
Kris-What is your favorite fun website to visit?
Anitra- I couldn't pick just one. :) http://www.cracked.com/
http://www.lileks.com/institute/gallery/
Don't forget to enter Anitra's giveaway of Thief.
The Wild West meets space adventure--Anitra Lynn McLeod’s Thief is rip-roaring, sexy fun!
