Please welcome Christine DePetrillo!

What if you were at death’s door? What if the next breath you took was destined to be your last? What if a tall, dark, and handsome stranger offered to save you? What if that offer came with strings attached?

Would you take the offer or would you choose to die?

Fortunately, we don’t live in a world where we have to make such decisions. We are, after all, mere mortals, bound by the rules of the natural world. We are born. We live. We die. We’re no different than a flower, beginning as a seed, bursting through the ground, flourishing under the sun, drinking in the rain, withering when our time is done.

Or are we?

Believers in reincarnation support the notion that when a body dies, the soul seeks out a new body, a new life. Pythagoras, the Greek philosopher and mathematician, taught the soul was immortal, merely residing in the body and therefore capable of surviving death. He believed the soul underwent a series of rebirths. Between death and rebirth the soul is purified in the Underworld. Only when the soul completes several cycles can it leave the reincarnation cycle.

I once read somewhere that “woman” was the highest form of reincarnation. Seems to make sense to me. We all love our sexy male heroes, but let’s face it, we females are much more evolved. Sometimes don’t you just feel as if you’ve been around for a looong time, as if you’ve seen it all, heard it all before? Probably because you have, dear sister. You’ve got an old soul inside you. One that is wise, worldly, and has most likely kicked some serious butt along the way.

So, for right now, you’re alive. Who knows if your soul is at the end of its cycle or if you’ve got many revolutions left to go? The important thing is to enjoy the ride…or rides as it were.

My character, Holly Brimmer, is offered a second ride after a horrible car accident causes her death. Find out what she decides to do in my paranormal romance, ABRA CADAVER, from The Wild Rose Press.

Blurb:

Holly Brimmer never expected to be brought back from the dead. After a fatal car crash, a mysterious stranger gives her a second chance at life—but it comes with a price. To stay alive she must pay it forward, accomplish an important deed, thus making her mark in the world. Until she does, her savior is bound to her. Now she has a backyard full of dead bodies and one unwanted houseguest.

Keane Malson kills bad guys to keep the innocent alive, but he’s still a monster. Cursed by a witch moments before an honorable death on the battlefield, he’s lived thousands of years, roaming from place to place with no end in sight. It’s a lonely life…until he meets Holly.

When a wanted man targets Holly, Keane will do anything to protect her, even if it’s the last thing he ever does.

Excerpt:

Slowly, Keane sat up and ran a hand through his hair. Holly was enchanted by the way the black strands fell back into place. Her fingers literally itched with the need to feel Keane’s hair against her own skin so she stuffed her hands underneath her legs.

Keane slid his legs off the bed and, holding onto the headboard, he stood. Holly edged off the bed as well and prepared to support him. He held out a hand as if to tell her to give him a minute. He took a few steps deeper into the room and turned around.

“Feel better?” Sweet Mary, he looked better. Damn perfect standing at his full height and rubbing his stomach with his hand.

“Much.” He came to stand in front of her. He was close enough for her to wrap her arms around him, but she didn’t. “Don’t let me do that again, okay? I felt human for a few moments drinking that beer, but it’s not worth the pain.”

“Guess you need tighter supervision.” A heat washed over Holly’s cheeks as she glanced up. His eyes were back to the brilliant sky blue, his skin flawlessly pale.

“Yes, Miss Brimmer. That’s exactly what I need.” He grinned, and Holly forgot the rules.

Where to buy:

Paranormal Romance
Novel, ebook
Supplied by Author for an honest review

Able to render themselves invisible, immortal Cloak Warriors like Aiden have been protecting humans from the dark power of the Demons of Fear for centuries. But the demons might soon have a powerful tool in their hands to seduce humans to the dark side. And the person to provide them with this elixir is the human scientist Leila. Unbeknownst to her, the drug she’s developing to cure Alzheimer’s Disease has the unexpected side effect of weakening the mind’s resistance to the influence of demons.

The Council of Cloak Warriors is divided, some of them believing the only safe way to eradicate this threat is to eliminate its inventor; others are bent on protecting the human scientist. Aiden is a loyal Cloak Warrior who accepts the assignment to protect her, despite his own beliefs that humans can’t be trusted. However, when her life is endangered, his beliefs shift, and he’s drawn into a battle whose participants are unknown: is he fighting the demons or his fellow Cloak Warriors?

Forbidden desire flares between Aiden and Leila as they are forced to rely on the only people they can trust: each other. And even if he can save her and defeat their enemies, a union between them might be the most dangerous undertaking of all.

Guest romance author Paty Jager + giveaway

Please welcome romance author Paty Jager

My current release is the third book of a trilogy set among the Nez Perce of NE Oregon. These books came about after an editor said she’d like to see more historical paranormal. Having written historical westerns I felt the only paranormal element that made sense to me was incorporating Native American spirits into a book. And out of that thought came Spirit of the Mountain , Spirit of the Lake and Spirit of the Sky.

The spirit entity in these books is all a figment of my imagination, but it felt real to me. My fascination with the Native American culture, their healing herbs, chants, legends, myths, and vision quest all primed my imagination when I came up with the spirit siblings who are the main characters in the books.

In the first book, Spirit of the Mountain, I use the vision quest as the means to bring the chief's daughter to talk with a white wolf, Himiin(Wolf), the hero and spirit of the mountain. In her vision quest, her weyakin(the spirit who visits her) is a white wolf. So when her life is thrown upside down by her believing her vision quest means she must marry a warrior from the enemy Blackfeet tribe, she feels talking to the wounded white wolf she encounters is natural. When he turns into a handsome warrior, doing her duty becomes harder as she must leave the mountain and spirit of her heart.

The second book, Spirit of the Lake, has Wewukiye (Bull Elk) as the hero. He is the white wolf's younger brother and a spirit as well. He lives in the lake as the antlered legend who comes out of the lake and takes bad children. Yet he is the fun loving practical joker of the three sibling spirits. In his book, he befriends a Nimiipuu maiden who has been raped by a Whiteman and becomes pregnant, but the band pretends to not believe her to avoid trouble and perhaps being tossed from their land because the treaty which took away their land was not signed by Old Joseph, yet the government believes the other chiefs who signed spoke for all the Nez Perce.

Sa-qan (Bald Eagle) is the youngest of the three. In Spirit of the Sky, she soars in the sky above all the Nimiipuu land watching over them. In the third book, she is desperately trying to keep the Nimiipuu from annihilation as the U.S. Army chases them from their homes on a four month, 1400 mile trek where they fall short of freedom and end up on reservations far from home. During the campaign she falls in love with a cavalry officer and together they try to save the Nimiipuu.

Each book is laced with factual information about the Nez Perce and their day to day lives, yet it is the fictional spirits that bring the stories to life and show the deep seated feeling of the Nez
 Perce.

Blurb for Spirit of the Sky
To save her from oppression, he must save her whole tribe. To give her his heart, he must desert his career…

When the US Army forces the Nimiipuu from their land, Sa-qan, the eagle spirit entrusted with watching over her tribe, steps in to save her mortal niece. Challenging the restrictions of the spirit world, Sa-qan assumes human form and finds an unexpected ally in a handsome cavalry officer.
Certain she is a captive, Lt. Wade Watts, a Civil War veteran, tries to help the blonde woman he finds sheltering a Nez Perce child. While her intelligent eyes reveal she understands his language, she refuses his help. But when Wade is wounded, it is the beautiful Sa-qan who tends him. Wade wishes to stop the killing—Sa-qan will do anything to save her people.
Can their differences save her tribe? Or will their love spell the end of the Nimiipuu?

Excerpt:
She smiled and his heart leapt into his throat. He thought her beautiful from the first moment he saw her standing in the river fiercely protecting the child, but watching her tense face relax and smile, he was smitten. A light and pleasing calm washed over him for the first time in a very long time. He could only bask in the moment briefly. They were enemies.
“I am from the sky, and I watch over the Nimiipuu.” She nodded her head and flashed him with yet another smile. “You may call me Angel.”
“Only if you call me Wade.”
She nodded. “Let me check your wounds. You have moved around.”
“Why are you taking such good care of me when your warriors left me for dead?”
Her sunshine gaze peered straight into his eyes. “You saved my niece at the village and the wounded from the Bannock scout. You do not have the thirst to kill like the other soldiers.” She bowed her head and removed the blood encrusted bandage from his shoulder. “The Nimiipuu need you.”
Her touch warmed his body, tingling the areas around his wounds. He glanced at her small, delicate hands hovering over his injuries. He shut his eyes, and then opened them. Her hands shimmered as if in a fog. His pain subsided, in fact, his body felt well rested.
A soft lyrical chant rose from her lips as she continued to hover her hands over his wounds. Her eyes remained closed, her light lashes resting on her sun-kissed cheeks. He’d never seen a woman as beautiful as this. He had to learn her true origins and return her to her family.

Guest author Deborah Court

Please welcome romance author Deborah Court

Step into my World
By Deborah Court

Before I started to write myself, I worked as an editor and translator of romance novels. It was the job of my dreams, since I've always enjoyed reading, and this gave me not only the opportunity to enjoy many books from different genres, but also enabled me to get to know how they are structured, what is elemental to a story. More importantly, I learned what readers expect from a book. A plot and interesting characters are elementary, but the real challenge for a good story is that it's supposed to take the reader into another world for the entire length of it, starting from page one.

It's all about escapism. God knows we need it nowadays, especially young people who struggle with getting a decent education and a career, or hard-working mothers who run their families like a tireless, multi-tasking robot each day. They have a job, loads of housework, take care of their children and elderly family members while they often neglect their own wishes and needs. I have learned that those women are my most faithful readers; they give me incredible, heartwarming feedback. "Thank you for helping me escape for a while," is something I often read in my readers' messages, and to me as a writer, it's the biggest compliment imaginable.

But is escapism a good or bad thing? (Naturally, escape can also be experienced through watching movies, TV shows or other forms of entertainment, but being an author, I'd like to talk about books for now.) There are people who'd argue that such avid readers prefer to live in their own worlds - or, in the case of a fiction book, in a world a writer created for them. But this world, whether it's fantastic or very close to reality, lingers on in their minds long after they finish reading; it feeds their own inner world, the childlike part of their soul that's still able to be in utter awe of a breathtaking sight, believing that whatever they are craving for can actually happen. Sometimes astonishing creativity blooms after readers lose themselves in a compelling story - there are myriads of talented fan fiction writers and artists online who got motivated by a book they particularly liked in the first place.

Now this can't possibly be a bad thing, can it? Don't have a bad conscience if you like to escape for a while. We all need to from time to time. You've earned your own private fantasy, and it will give you renewed strength to face life when you need to get out of bed in the morning. Because the world you found in a book will linger inside you, still filling you with joyous wonder and hope long after you turned the last page.

Want to escape even more? Deborah Court's new romance, "Virgin Dancer", is available on Amazon now.

Jade, a small town girl who has recently moved to New York to become a professional ballet dancer, is wildly determined to lose her virginity. She goes to a Lower East Side club and celebrates her birthday with friends - fully intending to choose the most handsome, charismatic man she'll meet there to introduce her to the art of love that night. Instantly she falls for the tall blond Swedish sex god who owns the club, pretending to be a pole dancer who wants to apply for a job. But Alrik has secrets of his own, and soon Jade gets entangled in a web of danger, mystery and relentless passion ...

Excerpt:

"So beautiful," he said, and his deep, rich voice sent shivers down her spine. "I still wonder if I should take advantage of this situation. After all, you're just a girl who wanted to find herself a lover tonight." He laughed to himself as he bowed down to her, moving his body over hers. Resting his weight on his elbows, his skin was just inches away from Jade's, nearly covering her. She only needed to arch her back, and her breasts would graze his skin.

Holding her captive with his pale, clear eyes, he stared down at her. "You can't even imagine how much I'd like to take you now." When she gasped, he continued. "Look at you. You want it, too, don't you, Jade? This is what you came here for."

Desperate with want, she closed her eyes, unable to speak a word. Suddenly, she felt his breath on the sensitive side of her neck, and she involuntarily tilted her head to the side to give him better access. Then, his lips were on her, leaving a searing mark
on her skin. She moaned when she felt his tongue, barely touching as if he only
wanted to taste her. A soft moan escaped her when he covered her neck with more
of his sinful kisses, alternating with gentle bites that made her finally give
up, yielding to his seduction.

The knowledge of being bound and helpless excited her more than she would have expected, and she turned her head to look into his eyes, ready to beg him if he wanted it. She found that the expression of his eyes wasn't cold anymore, but seemed to burn with a fire that threatened to destroy her.

"Beware, little virgin," he said. "I might be too much for you."

Cover Reveal with Ann Mayburn + giveaway

Join us in welcoming multi-genre author Ann Mayburn once again to BBPR as she reveals the cover for her upcoming sequel to Daughter of Lust, Princess of Lust

Cover Lover

It’s no great secret that I’m an absolute cover whore. I love getting new covers for my books, it’s one of my favorite things about being an author. I also print out every one of my covers and frame it to hang around my computer desk for ‘finish the damn book so you can get a pretty cover’ inspiration. After all of the blood, sweat, and lack of sleep that goes into writing a book, I adore the moment that my book gets a ‘face’ to show to the rest of the world.

It’s also no great secret that I drive my cover artists batshit crazy. ;) I’m a demanding, nit picky, pain in the ass who has been known to stress out about the smallest details, like the shadow of a blade of grass on a guys stomach that makes it look like he has a weird curvy shadow from an erection. Ok, maybe it didn’t look like that to anyone else, but it did to me.

One of my publisher’s, Decadent Publishing, recently gave me the opportunity to do the cover for my short story collection, Prides of the Moon. I adore art and have always wished I could draw free hand, but the best thing I can do is stick figure theater. Fortunately, with today’s art programs anyone who has the desire, drive, and a bit of natural talent can teach themselves the techniques used for making digital art. Decadent saw my work on my webpage, trading cards, etc. and had enough confidence in me to know if I didn’t feel like I could do the cover justice, I’d throw in the towel and call in a professional cover artist.

Authors and Their Pets day 8 with Bri Clark and her Vixen Cat

Please welcome Bri Clark and her vixen cat!

Yes you read that post right. It's a hard realization when you figure it out.

But the worse part is my husband is infatuated with her too. Which how can I blame him.

She's much smaller than me.
I'm taller than him.
She's also petite.
I'm very curvy.
Oh and she's lithe with long shiny black hair and green eyes. And I have short blond hair and gray eyes.

I mean how do I compete with that! The worst part is she was supposed to be my friend. And to top it all off I even have pictures of the debauchery.

She is hopelessly devoted to him.
She even throws herself at his feet.
I mean like I'm ever going to do that.

Oh and I caught her actually trying to wear my lingerie!
The nerve!

When he is working you look up and there she is having his back. You don't even know she's there. She's a lithe wench.

And when we are in the bed pillow talking you look up and there she is! Slivery little vixen.

But boy she has some nasty habits. Oh brother...When I got this shot. I knew I had her! I knew it would be the end of any pursuit. Because what man wants a female that nasty!

Sadly I was wrong. He said I never let her kiss me anyway.

Have any of you other women had to deal with a pushy female?

I hope ya'll liked my little play on words with a dash of sassy humor. But really that's what a good author does. When they write a story it's in a way that draws you in, makes you feel, whether that is humor, excitement, love, pain, or anger. The sign of a great writer is a story you never see coming.I love connecting with new people. You can find me on social media on anyone of those buttons beneath my name.

Thank you so much for letting me share my post on my little hussy cat. She truly is my slivery vixen and I love having her be a part of my family.

Authors and Their Pets day 7 with RM Sotera and her cat

Please welcome RM Sotera and her Cat Dracula!

Dracula – AKA- Bad Ass Cat

It is only fitting that my cat is named Dracula.  I did not name him Dracula.  Last year, when we purchased him from a cat sanctuary here in Vegas, he was already given the namesake.  And it fits him to a tee!

Little did the newest addition to my family realize that his mom had long adored everything vampire.  I’d read every book about vamps that I could get my hands on, and even write my own stories filled with these drop dead gorgeous creatures of the night.

So, we brought Dracula home with us. And oh…the fun began!  May I add that I’ve never had a cat as a pet before.

Dracula. His black fur always looks as slick as an oil spill and the white patches skillfully drawn on his paws, neck, face and underbelly a perfect piece of his tuxedo style.  There is always a touch of mystery surrounding him.  Many times he shows up in nooks and crannies around the house…and basically scares the crap out of me. LOL

Dracula.  We’d decided his name was perfect for him so we didn’t change it.  As soon as he’d entered our home he became the purveyor of all.  Each day since the day we brought him home he wakes us (mostly me) at 3:00 am by shoving everything off the dressers in the master bedroom.  If we don’t get our butts out of the bed (again, me), he starts to do laps back and forth down the hallway.  And when that doesn’t work he starts flinging the doorstops.  Then I get up – since my time to rise is 4 am – and feed the little man.  By the time I hit the button on the coffee machine and make it back down the hallway to the master bedroom, he’s already sprawled out sleeping on my side of the bed.  And I just laugh.  Damn if that cat doesn’t know how to rule the roost.

Dracula.  Curiosity fit for a master!  A master vampire that is.  Yes, this cat is a night owl.  A Casanova of the feline kind.  Sometimes, when twilight is near, the neighbor cat, a beautiful tiger stripped female, occasionally plops in front of the sliding glass door on the back patio of our home and meows at Dracula.  He just lays in front of the door, all sprawled out on his back, staring at her as she meows and continues to whine like a little baby.  Finally, after what feels like way to long, she stops her bellowing and the two cats stare at each other.  Must be Dracula’s powers of hypnosis – he’s mesmerizing the fair kitty.  Then she runs home, probably relishing in kitty dreams of the cat in the window.

What a kitty man.  He is truly a creature of the night.  Undeniably his name fits his personality.

Check out his pictures.  Enjoy.

RM Sotera - Romance writer, wife, mom to a teenage boy and one bad-ass cat named Dracula.

Authors and Their Pets day 6 with Tina Carreiro and her pets

Please welcome Tina and her pets!!

Bela

Hi everyone! First I’d like to thank, Bitten by Paranormal Romance, for the opportunity to stop by and introduce my furry baby to everyone.

This is Bela. We call him our one-eyed, cycloptic cat. Bela is a Seal Point Siamese and will be 14 next month. I’ll never forget the day we bought/rescued him.  At the time, we had a Chocolate Point Siamese, Mr. Viv, who passed away two years ago at the age of 21. He was getting old and lazy so we wanted to get him a companion to play with, hoping it would get him off the back of the couch.

I’m in love with the Siamese breed and searched my local rescue shelters for them first. After having no luck, I searched the local newspaper and when I saw an ad in the paper for Siamese kittens, we were off to find a new addition for the family. I was shocked when I arrived. The ad didn’t lie. They had kittens there—tons of them. Kittens with weepy eyes and fur matted with fleas were scattered around a tiny room.  Dogs could be heard barking in the garage, and I was sure that Cujo was going to come crashing through the wall at any minute.

At this point, the only thing I was committed to doing was turning her in for being a pet mill.  That’s when this little cat, about one year old, jumped up on the counter in an attempt to find water. He looked at me with his one eye and snaggletooth with almost a pleading expression on his furry face. I turned to my husband, and he knew right then, we were not leaving without that cat. He was nameless and filthy with earmits and fleas and he had an overly skittish demeanor. Once we got him home, I stepped into the shower with cat in hand and started scrubbing him down. He screamed the entire time.

I’m thankful every day that we brought him home. Yes, him. Most people think he is a girl because of his name, but my handsome Bela was named after Bela Lugosi. He has such a unique personality, and I truly believe he thinks he’s a dog. If I pat my chest, he’ll jump into my arms. He also plays fetch with his favorite stuffed monkey and waits at the table, begging to be fed scraps. He doesn’t care that much for catnip, but he has a dirty little secret…he loves to lick plastic. We tried therapy to help him with his plastic addiction, but it didn’t work… J

Oh… and, he LOVES cheese. Yep, he can hear the cap pop off  a can of Cheese Wiz a mile away and loves Colby Jack. He loves music that is played softly and he’ll flip over on his back and hams it up when I sing, You Are So Beautiful, to him.

As you’ll see in some of the pictures, Bela also loves to camp with the family. Bela has kept me company many late nights while I write and the rest of the family sleeps. He’s made crucial decisions with me as if a character should be killed off. Paw up… the character is a goner. Bela has his own starring role in my books and now thinks he’s king of the jungle.  At least he only wants to be paid in cheese.

I hope my Bela brings a smile to your day.

PLEASE SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL ANIMAL RESCUE GROUPS.

Tell me what your favorite cat breed is and one lucky winner will be entered to win my book Power of the Moon when it is re-released into the reading world. In addition, two lucky winners will receive SWAG!!

Authors and Their Pets day 5 with Sam Cheever and her pets

Bitten Pet Week Post – May 10th

Help a Pet Hint: Do you love animals and want an easy way to help those who haven’t found their forever homes yet? Both Petco and Petsmart allow you to donate a small amount to shelters each time you buy something at the pet store. With the press of a button on the card scanner, I donate a few dollars each time and it definitely adds up!

ADDICTED AND LOVING IT!
Let me just get something right out there…I’m a dogaholic. Yup. It’s true. I’m addicted to dogs. But I don’t need an intervention. I’m perfectly happy with my addiction. I have 11 dogs and at any given moment my husband and I are in danger of adopting another. We don’t go on vacations. I don’t crave jewelry. My husband doesn’t collect machinery or spend money going to sports events. We spend our money on our two daughters and our 11 fur babies.
We’re pleased that we’ve been able to rescue dogs who needed a good home and we feel lucky that they’ve found us. Our fur babies are a labor of love, pure entertainment, and part of our extended family.

And I’m also happy to say we’ve passed the addiction on to our girls. My oldest daughter has 3
fur babies and my youngest has 2.
Now I know that many people have multiple dogs. We’re not all that unique. However, most people with over five dogs are breeders or run shelters. LOL My husband and I hoard our babies. We don’t let them go once we get our greedy hands on them. I realize we’re lucky that we can do this and we’re very thankful. We have a hobby farm so there’s lots of room for our dogs to run and play.
We’re both fortunate to work from home. And, though we occasionally travel with our jobs, we’re mostly able to stagger our travel so that one of us is always home with the fur babies.

Aside from the many joys of having so many dogs, there are, of course, challenges. Feeding time is interesting, yearly visits to the vet can be a challenge, and keeping track of all the little furry heads is a near impossible task. I find I’m constantly doing head counts to make sure I haven’t lost anybody. Especially at night, because we have lots of coyotes around here. Ish! But our biggest challenge is finding room on the bed at night. We have a king sized bed but, when you add 7 to 8 dogs to the space, there isn’t much room left for the human-type critters! Despite my whining though, I don’t think I could sleep without all those soft, warm bodies draped around me every night. They’re very cuddly. #:0)

I created a video of what it’s like to spend a day with so many dogs and I’d like to share it with you. As a bonus, if you can find the typo in the video (Yes, I know it’s there but I’ve changed software since I created the video and I can’t fix it without redoing the whole thing, LOL), just send me a note telling me what it is and I’ll add you to a drawing for one of my books, winner’s choice. Send the email to samcheever@samcheever.com, Subject: Typo. I’ll pick the winner on May 24th. Good luck!
Here’s the link to the video: http://www.samcheever.com/bio.html  It’s on my bio page so just scroll down a bit and you’ll see it. I hope you enjoy my fur babies!

Alba has spent her entire life pleasing others.

As an upper-class woman in Ancient Rome, that is her place in life. But when her husband, Lucius, the owner of a prestigious gladiatorial school, uses her body as a bargaining tool to increase his fortunes, she is faced with doing as he demands-or finding herself on the street.

Forced to lie with masked gladiators chosen by Lucius, Alba is surprised to discover pleasure in being powerless. Only in the forbidden arms of Caius and Marcus does she find comfort, however temporary it may be.

But with Lucius' demands looming and the threat of death for her gladiators ever present, will Alba's fleeting pleasures be enough? Or will she finally grab hold of her own desires, no matter the consequences?

Author and Their Pets day 3 with Dominique Eastwick

Please welcome Dominique Eastwick and her pets!

For the love of our Pets.

They are there when everyone else has long gone to bed. They are the constant companion reminding me that I need to get up away from my computer every now and then if only to feed them or open the back door. And they always make sure I get up when that alarm clock goes off for the third time.

I am one of those Cat and Dog people. I Love both. I love that cats are independent and do what they want. And that they love you enough to come back home, at least that’s what I keep telling myself. Chai my cat, is a pound cat, she came to our home and has added so much to our lives. Just don’t leave a suitcase open around her you will find it full of cat. She sleeps at the foot of my bed and when I write she lays right behind my computer screen watching me write. Well she started sitting in front of the screen but learned that that only got her shooed off the desk.

Then there is Suki, my crazy black lab. We lovingly refer to here as the labragator who will eat anything and everything excerpt her heartworm pill. Now Dogs you love for a completely different reason, they depend on you, they love you no matter what and all they want is you. How can you not love that? Suki pulled her dog bed from the living room into my office so she can lay down next to me. Every now and then I get a persistent nudge at my arms that says “Hey mom play with me, pet me, just show you love me.” So I get up go outside and throw the Frisbee a few times until she says okay time to go back to sleep.

Both animals have added so much to our family’s lives and to my sanity.  I can’t imagine our home without them. Tell me are you a dog or a cat person. And one lucky winner will be entered to win my book Shifting Hearts J
