I love languages. English. French. Italian. Eenie-meenie-miney-mo…pick one. It doesn’t matter. I enjoy listening to them all. Nothing pleases me more than hearing the beat of each word as one flows into the next. The rhythm of a good sentence, the metronomic pulse of paragraphs carry me forward, making the story come alive with broad strokes and detailed swirls of an author’s turn of phrase. I guess, when you think about it, that’s no surprise. As a writer, I deal in language everyday, tend to immerse myself in the nuances and pay attention to how words lay on the page and sound when spoken aloud.

I never imagined, however, I would go so far as to create a language of my own or chronicle its progression in the Dragonfury Novels. But that’s exactly what happened.

From word one of FURY OF FIRE, and continuing on to FURY OF ICE, (books 1 & 2 in the series), the dragon-warriors began introducing me to Dragonese, the ancient language of their kind. Little by little, with each new addition, I started to understand, combining previously unknown words into recognizable phrases. A weird turn of events? Yes. A bit nuts on sanity’s sliding scale? Absolutely. Beyond fascinating? You betcha.

It wasn’t something I planned. Wouldn’t have expected either, but I have to say, learning Dragonese is a whole lot of fun. So, today, I thought I’d share an excerpt form FURY OF SEDUCTION (Dragonfury series, book 3…released just last week!). It’s a scene in which my heroine, Tania, meets the Nightfury dragon-warriors for the first time. And you guessed, it…there is Dragonese involved.

In Phantom's Touch we get to meet the another Forsyth brother - once cursed inside an object, this time a magical sword, Aiden is released by Lauren Cole, an actress (quite a scandalous profession in Aiden's time).  Aiden is quite an entertaining character, and I dare say I may have liked the second book even more than the first.  Lauren Cole is another strong leading woman that isn't going to let some silly thing - oh say, like a man suddenly appearing out of thin air - slow her down.  She has goals and she will see them finished - mainly completing her last movie with her ex-husband as the producer.  Aiden's goals are far different.  Number one is to get out of the sword permanently, and then go find his family.

Once the K'vr get wind that a powerful magical artifact has turned up, they close in quickly and stop at nothing to get their hands on the sword.  Aiden and Lauren must put aside their own goals to save each other.

Before I start let me just say that I had the honor of getting to review all three books in this series so far. I absolutely loved these books and love the characters that are in each of the books. Bianca Sommerland is a great writer and has an amazing insight to the world of BDSM. Although some aspects of the lifestyle can be extreme it is not for everyone. Going into this series I figured that it would be considered medium BDSM nothing too extreme. If you can't handle more than the light stuff I say stay away from this series...it will push your limits. Bianca does not concentrate on bits and pieces of the lifestyle but takes you through a variety of it. Although I have read and enjoyed some BDSM...she had my eyes bugging from time to time. With that being said...please read on. :)

Two by Twilight has two novellas from the Wings in the Night series.  For some reason they are in the wrong order - we start with #9, Run From Twilight.  Michael, an ex-cop turned vampire, knows that Mary is in danger, but how to tell her without scaring her away?  As he sets himself up as her guardian and the danger comes closer the sparks begin to fly - but will she be able to accept him for what he is?  A cute good cop rescues sexy girl tale with a bit of a twist.  A little predictable, but still a lot of fun.

The second novella is #6, Twilight Vows.  This one was my favorite of the two - possible because it's Irish - love reading stories about Ireland.  When Donovan O'Roark returns to a castle that contains haunting memories for him, he finds himself entranced with Rachel - a local village girl.  Rachel also thinks he's quite fascinating, but she's the only one that isn't afraid of him.  When the horrible thing that happened in the past begins to repeat itself, it's up to Rachel to save the day this time.  This story was quite romantic and very sweet.  The characters were fun and a little different.
