WELCOME TO ALPHAVILLE, where the she-wolves and alpha-males play. . .for keeps.

Renny Landry is a wolf on the run. Pursued by a shapeshifting stalker and his slobbering pack of killer coyotes, she is forced to flee her job as a librarian to find sanctuary in the wooded hills of Alpha, Washington. A well-secluded safe space for troubled shifters, Alpha is Renny’s last hope. But the first person she meets there is a gorgeous alpha male with fiery eyes, fierce tattoos, and one ferocious appetite—for her…

Mick Fischer thought he left his past behind when he moved to Alpha. But fate has a way of biting him in the tail when a female wolf shows up on his property. Wounded, desperate—and disarmingly hot—Renny brings out the snarling, protective alpha beast in Mick like no other woman he’s known. Can these two haunted, hunted wolves manage to mate for life…even as the deadliest past demons howl at their heels?

I have read several books from Christine Warren Others series and really enjoyed them, I was hoping to enjoy this one, but the sad fact is I couldn’t finish it. This is the first time I am writing a review on a book I never finished reading, but per Netgalley I have to rate the book and add links before I submit the review so, please keep in mind I only read half of the book something major could have happened that turned the whole book into greatness after I stopped reading.

I am all for the whole fated mates, but dang Mick totally pulls off the mating thing in the first few chapters and by the way he did it just totally turned me off.  As a reader, you want to feel the sparks fly off the pages and I never got this with these two even after their matting.

As I kept reading and finding these large shifters getting beaten by a pack of small coyotes I had enough and went on to another book.

I enjoyed the world set up and the suspense to the story, but I couldn’t accept the fact that a pack of coyotes beating these larger alphas, nope, totally not right with me even as a pack.

Marriage with a Proper Stranger (Men of Wollstonecraft Hall, #1) by Karyn Gerrard

Author: Karyn Gerrard

Sexual rating: 4

“Build a wall about your heart.”

Riordan Wollstonecraft labors under the heavy burden of his forebears. For generations, a curse has followed the dashing young men of his family, guaranteeing the women they love an untimely death. The youngest grandson of the Earl of Wollstonecraft Hall, charismatic Riordan is quietly resigned to his fate, an educator who devotes his life to good works, and ignores any longing for something more.

Widowed and penniless, Lady Sabrina Lakeside is desperate to avoid a second forced betrothal—this time to an aged marquess. Her chance encounter with Riordan leads her to an impulsive offer: a temporary marriage of convenience that could benefit them both. His agreement is as surprising as it is welcome. Before long, Riordan’s keen intellect and kind words have Sabrina rethinking her plans of a union in name only. But her new husband is holding something back. Will giving in to their tantalizing passion lead her only to further heartache . . . or could it be the first step toward healing them both?

Who knew a temporary marriage of convenience could be sexy, dangerous and yet fun!

When Lady Sabrina offers a marriage of convenience to the schoolmaster Riordan she wasn’t expecting to truly find a husband, all she wanted was an escape, she also has no clue what her father has done behind the scenes that come back to haunt her.

I really enjoyed both Sabrina and Riordan, their sparks flew off the pages as they both unravel each other’s hidden mysteries. You also get a peek at other great characters that will be in future books.

I recommend this to any historical romance lover out there that wants a different twist.

From an old-fashioned brick barbecue, to a pit to roast a whole hog, or even a 55-gallon drum to be converted to a Texas barrel smoker, tons of projects are at your disposal with full color, step-by-step instructions. Guaranteed to satisfy at any cookout or tailgate party, and definitely primed to blow away your grilling buddies

I know this is a strange title to be found on a romance review blog, but when I noticed I was eligible to review this book I just had to see if it contained what I’ve wanted to do for many years now. For some time I’ve wanted a pizza oven outside so I can bake my own firewood pizza, but the bids I have gotten to build one is very costly so, when I noticed the cover on this I had to have it.

By the looks of the instructions, it looks to be rather simple or so I hope because once this spring hits I am going to get this book and give it a try. Each project has instruction along with images which I hope shows up in the books because most of them didn’t show up on my digital copy.

There are a lot of options for you to build, from small simple smokers like a small clay pot to large more time consuming large smokehouse smokers.  You'll find this like small ground fire pits, brick barbecues, all the way to large outdoor kitchens.

If you are somewhat of a handyman or woman (lol) then, this book is for you.  Now, I have to go buy one because they don’t let reviewers keep our copies.

** Other books in the King Series DO NOT have to be read to enjoy Smoke's book. Up in Smoke can be read as a standalone. **

Excerpt:
“All these bruises,” Smoke muses. “And not one of them caused by me.” He trails a hand up my arms and down my flat stomach. “Pity, but I still have time to leave my mark on you yet.” My entire body stiffens. I’m as rigid as a corpse. Smoke chuckles and I’m glad I’m facing away because his laugh is pure torture, causing his erection to vibrate against my folds which are aching for more contact. “You will be punished, hellion. You can be sure of that.” I look over my shoulder and meet his dark eyes which darken even further as his pupils dilate. His lingering gaze rakes me over from my feet to my breasts and back down to the space between my thighs. He licks his full bottom lip. My stomach flips. My will to fight him off doesn’t waiver, but my body isn’t getting the message. My core clenches again. I turn back around to face the tile, digging my teeth into my lower lip until I taste my own blood. His chest presses against my back, and his hardness pulses between my legs, rubbing against my inner thighs. He squirts some shampoo in his hand, working it into my hair. He tilts my head back and rinses my hair then slides his slick and soapy hand down my body. I’m breathing rapidly now. Short quick breaths I can’t control. There’s a deep rumble in his throat. His hand travels lower and lower on my stomach until it’s between my legs. He’s working his thumb over my swollen nub, sending sparks of need, pangs of pleasure, and a wave of self-hatred, surging within my battered body and bruised soul. “What…what are you doing?” I ask, seeing flashes of white hot lust behind my closed eyes. “More questions…” his voice a hearty amused rasp. His fingers circle my clit while he continues to rock his hard cock between my legs. The pressure building is so strong it borders on painful. Tears leak from my eyes. I’m so fucking mad at myself for being turned on. For Smoke being right. I’m so wet. He feels it. There’s no way he can’t feel it. He leans in close. I’m stone still except for the tremors gripping my body. He licks the tear off my cheek and groans. He dips the tip of his finger inside of me and I tighten around the intrusion. It’s a foreign sensation. Strange. It feels both wrong and right. Pleasurable and painful. “Your tight little pussy is weeping too. I wonder if its tears taste the same.” I look over my shoulder as he withdraws his finger and sucks it into his mouth. He groans. “Fear or desire. They both taste real fuckin’ good to me.” He places his hand back between my legs. When I try to squeeze my thighs together to keep him out he parts them with his knee on a grunt and begins circling my clit again. This time harder. Faster. I’m staying as still as I can, but when I feel something begin to happen inside my body. The sparks he ignited within me are all crashing together. I can’t hold back. My face scrunches as I try to fight the orgasm fighting its way out, but it’s no use. I can’t fight it. It’s too fucking strong. I’m so fucking close. I arch my back without thinking, pressing my ass against him, begging for more. For what I need to push me over the edge. Smoke hisses. “Oh, what I could do to this beautiful little pussy.” The pleasure builds and builds as he strokes me harder. Faster. I’m about to come all over his fingers when the feeling is lost. I spin around. Smoke is gone. I can’t see through the steam so I shut off the spray and wipe the water from my eyes only to see Smoke toweling off in front of the sink on the other side of the bathroom. The only proof I have of what just happened between us was real is his cock. Erect. Thick. Huge. The purplish swollen head bobs against his abs, jutting out over the top of the towel he wraps around his waist. “What…what just happened?” I stammer, leaning back against the wall for support. Smoke steps forward, and when I go to jerk back, he reaches out and pinches my nipple painfully hard. I yelp and leap back, slipping on the tile, falling on my ass, taking the shower curtain down with me. Smoke rips the curtain off my head and glares down at me with a triumphant grin on his evil beautiful face. “What just happened was called punishment and you got off easy. Next time I’ll split that tight pussy in two with my fucking cock.” He goes to leave but stops. “You want pain?” he asks. “I’ll give it to you. You want pleasure? Now that’s something you’re gonna have to earn.” He leaves, slamming the door behind him. I release a shaky exhale. I’d hoped the rest of my time with Smoke would be tolerable, but there’s no fucking way that’s going to happen. Not now. Not with my skin crawling with need. I’m losing my mind. About where I am. About what this is all about. About this beautiful horrible evil man. I feel like I’ve already been split in two. What Smoke is doing to me is far more than punishment. It's pure fucking torture. Their forbidden love may get them both killed. Bella is a red werewolf, sole survivor of the fire that killed her entire pack. Devlyn is a beta male werewolf in a pack of grays. Forced to flee her adopted gray pack when the alpha male becomes a vicious threat, she struggles to live as a lone wolf, until Devlyn, the gray male who rescued her as a pup, comes to bring her home.

When a local red werewolf goes on a killing spree, Bella and Devlyn must flee the murderer, the police and their vengeful pack leader. With the full moon rising, and her heat upon her, Bella can't resist the pull to her destined mate, even if means Devlyn will have to face the wicked alpha male in a fight to the death..

This is a re-release which I have read several years ago, but at the time I wasn’t reviewing and now a lover of Terry Spears books I wanted to have a chance to write a review of this one.

I have always been a series order reader and I have no clue how, but when I started this series years ago I stated with a later book and I have always been glad I did because this book fell short for me compared to others in the series. I never felt a true love connection between Devlyn and Bella and there was the fact Bella was a 150-year-old virgin, I never got that one and Bella thoughts we overly repetitive, which got on my nerves at times.

Overall the book is well written and there is a lot of mythology in the story for you PNR lovers.

Release Date:

February 27, 2018

Excerpt:

“Will you…will you touch me?” I whispered against his lips, my voice soft and breathy. “I want to feel your hands on me, Philip.”

His grip tightened just slightly on my waist before he relaxed, but there was a new tension in him. I held my breath as I waited for his response to my bold question. I felt in control, something sadly lacking in my life. There was power in being the one who said yes. I was allowing what happened to me. No one was making me do anything I didn’t want to. It was actually almost liberating to make my needs known. I’d never been given this chance before.

“Let’s go sit on the couch, maybe get a little more comfortable.” Philip’s voice was gruff and rumbled through me like a freight train.

As we settled on the sofa, I scooted as close to him as possible, until I was practically in his lap. My breath caught as Philip leaned forward and began plucking the pins from my hair, until he’d tossed them all on the coffee table. I let out a soft sigh as he threaded his rough, calloused fingers through my hair until it cascaded down, billowing around my shoulders and settling over my breasts.

“Your hair is like silk,” Philip said softly as he ran his fingers through my hair again, just stopping before he reached my breasts. “I can imagine it spread...”

He shut off the flow of words. My brain tried to puzzle out what he had meant to say, but when his finger ghosted across my neck, all thoughts flew out of my head. My nipples hardened, and I shuddered at his touch. I watched his eyes track the path his finger was taking as it brushed across my collar bones. I wondered if he could see how much his touch affected me.

“Are you going to touch me now?” my words were anxiously excited, but I couldn’t help it. I was desperate for his touch.

Philip’s lip quirked in a half-smile as his gaze met might. His finger never stopped traversing across the top of my chest, moving neither higher nor lower. “I am touching you.”

My lower lip dropped into a pout. He was being deliberately obtuse. “Not there.”

“Oh,” he said with mock innocence, “this isn’t where you wanted me to touch you?”

My hair danced around my face as I shook my head. “You know it isn’t.”

In response his finger navigated a path across my shoulder and down my arm, leaving a trail of fire in its wake. Now he was just teasing me. “Not there either?”

“Philip.” I hated that his name came out sounding so whiny, but I had no idea that I’d need his touch more than I needed air.

Syd and Kat are all excited about the prospect of the shelter's newest fundraiser: shopping channel queen Ulla Townsend. Shelter admin Maggie Shayne vehemently refuses to have anything to do with the woman, but the fundraiser ensues as planned. That is until Ulla turns up dead in the middle of the event.

The cause of death is determined to be an allergic reaction, but Syd and Toby are sniffing out something fishy. When Syd met Ulla, it was clear she was distasteful and rude. And right before the event, Syd spotted some behind-the-scenes drama between Ulla and her manager. As they begin to investigate, they realize there is no shortage of suspects, and Maggie is at the top of the list.

Now Syd and Toby must claw their way to the truth before everything goes paws up at their animal shelter in Death by a Whisker by national bestselling author T. C. LoTempio.

Author T.C. LoTempio takes you on an adventure with fun-loving cats, great characters, fantastic story settings, and an edge of your seat mystery that will stick with you for years to come.

I enjoyed the characters and the depth of the mystery, I even love how one of their own is tossed right in the middle of the mystery, it just made this story all much better of an edge of your seat story.

I would recommend this to anyone that loves cozy cat mysteries. I can’t wait to see what trouble Syd and Toby are going to get into next.
