It's been eight long years since Michael Gallagher has laid eyes on Shay Angel, back when he was a boy from the most prominent family in town and she was a girl from the wrong side of the tracks. But he hadn't cared about their differences - until one bad decision landed her in jail.

That was years ago and now he's back in Harmony Harbor for the holidays. So when Shay goes missing, Michael is intent on finding her - and finding out if their sizzling attraction is still there. But he's now a district attorney, and it looks like Shay is once again on the wrong side of the law.
A cute and very suspenseful Christmas story. I would recommend reading book one first, while the story stands alone, there was obviously some back story that I had missed going into it that I missed out on.

Michael's long lost love, Shay, is back in town and seems to be in trouble. So, like any good romance hero, he sets off to save the day. But none of it goes as planned. He ends up in trouble himself and there are some really good secrets that come out at the end of the story. Debbie Mason drops just enough hints that I wasn't completely surprised, but it was still a great reveal when it happened.

Almost too short to get a lot of romance in, but the characters already have a history, so the connection was in place. They just needed to reconnect. They don't quite do that (just warning you), but I think it might be something that happens in a future book at some point.

He was her destination. She just didn't know it.

When Maya leaves Luke to go in search of her blood family, nothing prepares her for the secrets she uncovers about herself.

An intense, shifter romance, set in Bombay. A standalone novella in the Many Lives universe.
I would recommend reading the original Many Lives series before starting. I did not and there were a few times that I was a tad confused about the world in general. Laxmi Hariharan did a great job trying to fill in the blanks without going overlong for this novella, but there were still a couple holes for me.

Maya doesn't fit in with her pack. She doesn't even think she is pack, so she leaves to find out where she came from. Her search takes her into the main city of Bombay where life is much different. There are rules for everything and lives are planned out.

Her search reveals some unexpected things, and I'm not 100% sure I'd call this a romance even. There is a romantic element, but it's in the background for most of the story. I enjoyed watching Maya find her place and learn her history, but I think a little bit more overall would have been nice.

Surrendering my lips to his was akin to selling my soul to the devil...

When bear shifter Jed Barton’s keynote speaker engagement and his role as pack alpha require him to have a wife, he does what any other tycoon would do – he hires one – the last thing he wanted to do was fall in love with her.

Carrie

Have you ever fallen in love with someone you shouldn’t? Jed, my boss, is hot. I mean, smoking hot. But it gets worse. He’s also a womanizing jerk and a bit of a tyrant. He’d devour me if I let him. I know I should turn around and walk away, but I can’t. The heart wants what the heart wants, and it will do or endure anything to get it.

Jed

There are rules in business. Never hire a beautiful woman and never fall in love with her. Rule number one comes back to bite me in the ass every single time. You’d think a grizzly shifter of my stature could find a suitable mate without picking off his employees one by one.

Will Carrie meet Jed’s expectations to fill the role of a lifetime or will he have to pass on one of his engagements? Fur flies, stocks rise, and passion ignites in this paranormal shapeshifter romance.
A really fun office style romance. Carrie needs this job desperately, and Jed is determined to hire her even though he knows he won't be able to keep his hands off. I think what really made this memorable was the office drama. The receptionist was a riot and really had it in for Carrie - it was very well done and just added an element to help give this novella a little more depth.

Jed and Carrie are very sweet together, but Jed is denying his family legacy. When he's called home unexpectedly, he convinces Carrie to come with and pretend to be his girlfriend. I loved the reactions of the family and I really loved the book.

Why three stars?? I didn't get an ending. This is more of a serial style romance that a complete HEA of HFN ending and I wasn't expecting that at all! It really soured it for me because I was looking forward to that great ending moment and I didn't get it.

Corliss Rumdone hides behind her status as Healer to avoid the normal wolf pack hierarchical challenges. A forced mating changes the course of her life. Instead of Raymond, the beta wolf selected for her, she mates with Liam—her best friend and heir to the Alpha pair.

Liam whisks them away to a shifter retreat so they can allow the mating bond to settle in private. But interference from those seeking power and two terminal children arouse past hurts and challenge their new relationship. Even their home is not the haven it should be as Liam must watch Corliss fight for the right to stay his mate. For one healer, death becomes a weapon to balance life.
This one just didn't hit the spot for me. There was so much that I needed to know more about, or that just didn't quite add up. Corliss is the pack healer, which seems to be a very honored and special position, and yet she isn't treated that way. She seems to be looked down upon and is being forced into a mating she doesn't want.

Thankfully, her old friend Liam steps in and takes his place in the mating ceremony instead. I was good through here. It's what happens when they go on their "honeymoon" that I just had a hard time with. A random group of wolves seems to have it out for Corliss, we find out somewhat of a reason later, but at the time it occurs, it was just confusing.

While they are trying to figure out what is going on - even though they don't really know anything is going on - there's a family with two children that are dying and Corliss isn't able to save them. This seems like it was just thrown in to take up space and give her something to do later in the story as well.

There were some good moments, but overall this one fell flat for me. Things weren't tied together well and the bad guys were a little too erratic and out of the blue.

Piper Summers works like a dog juggling three jobs to put herself through veterinary school—driving taxis, delivering pizzas, and singing telegrams. Thankfully, Piper has her devoted dachshund Colin to help her keep things in line. That is, until she gets fired...and someone throws her a bone that is too good to resist.

Aiden Caldwell is an Armani ad come to life—a billionaire CEO who’s just adopted a dachshund from the rescue center where Piper volunteers. He’s hot on Piper’s tail to be his personal dog walker...but he may be after more than a walker for his wiener. The gorgeous, spirited Piper is everything he’s ever wanted from a woman—and more. But can Piper ever love, and trust, a man who has never learned to open his heart—or has she bitten off more than she can chew?
Must Love Wieners is even more fun than the title sounds. This was such a fun read from start to finish. A couple that just worked great together, some amazing dialog, a little over the top personality, and of course a couple cute pups. It was the perfect recipe for a book I couldn't put down.

Piper is a struggling student, trying to make ends meet until she can pass her vet exams and land a real job. In the meantime, she's working three jobs at once and things are just piling up and ready to topple. And topple they do, right into the lap of Aiden Caldwell, a super rich CEO that didn't know he needed to have his life shaken up until Piper does it.

When Piper's life begins to crumble around her, and they someone seems out to get her. When clues point to that someone being Aiden - well, there's trouble in paradise. I loved how the suspense element built up. The answer always seemed to be just out of reach.

The nice little topper on the cake of this romance was the dogs. Even a bit of romance there when two long lost buddies are allowed to re-connect. Well written and a great story. You won't regret picking this one up.

He was everything I thought I didn't need...

WARNING: This book contains dark and disturbing themes, strong language and over the top sexiness that may be uncomfortable for some readers!

Living the wild life, bad girl Nyx was all about sex, drugs and running wild. That is until one fateful night when a car accident killed both her parents and left her in the care of her controlling aunt. Nyx wakes up to the cold, sobering new reality: she needs to clean up her act.

She’s accepted at Blackworth’s, an exclusive theatre college in London where she’ll learn to do set design for the country’s best stage productions. But the only condition?

She’ll have to behave.

When hot, unpredictable Adam Morgan enters the scene, Nyx is more than a little tempted, and realizes that being good is going to be a little harder than she first thought. Bored with staying on the sidelines, and unable to resist this actor’s dark charisma, Nyx soon finds herself falling fast into an exciting world where pleasure, chaos and magic reign supreme.

Adam Morgan is a bad influence, no doubt about it. But he might also be just the bad influence she needs…
Nyx is a problem child, but she's trying to turn her life around. That means digging in and being responsible, following her aunt's directions or she's cut off for good. She's living her dream and attending theater school, but one bad boy may screw everything up for her.

Adam Morgan, she's been warned about him, but she just can't resist. The lead actor challenges her to expand her mind and her experiences. They experiment with mind games and acting out some pretty hot scenes. But in the long run, she's forced to make a decision between following her heart or following the rules.

This is a bit dark at times - and I love the way the story parallels the play they are producing. It was done very well and added an extra layer that I found very enjoyable.

Distrust is no match for desire as a proper young miss and a self-professed rogue hunt down a murderer in this thrilling Disgraced Lords novel from the USA Today bestselling author of A Kiss of Lies and A Taste of Seduction.

Arend Aubury trusts no one besides his fellow Libertine Scholars. After his family escaped from France, penniless and persecuted, only the Scholars took him in. So when the stepdaughter of the villainess who has been plotting against them approaches Arend with allegations against their enemy, he suspects a double cross. Yet Isobel is a tantalizing prize, with lips as sweet as champagne and skin as creamy as Camembert. Is she a feast for the senses—or a bitter trap?

Lady Isobel Thompson dreams of marrying an honorable gentleman with a spotless reputation, a trait that Arend seems to lack completely. But Isobel believes that her stepmother is responsible for her father’s death, and only Arend has the skills to uncover the truth. As a cover, Arend suggests a fake betrothal—and soon Isobel finds herself forgetting that their courtship is a ploy. He’s so different from the man of her fantasies, and yet he’s so terribly handsome, so dangerously intoxicating—and all Isobel wants is more.
A Night of Forever takes us further into the events of Arend's kidnapping - which we see from others' perspectives in the previous book. It did take me a few moments to find my place in the timeline, but once I was settled I really enjoyed the story.  Although, knowing part of the outcome did make it a bit less suspenseful for me.

Lady Isabel is the step-daughter of the woman the Libertine Scholars believe is trying to ruin and kill them. How could she not know what is going on when she is right in the middle of it all? Arend is determined to prove her collusion and is willing to take some rather extreme measures to do so. But or course this backfires, and he finds himself deeply intrigued by the lady.

There is a lot of action, and even though I knew how it was going to end already, there were a couple surprises along the way. I thoroughly enjoyed Lady Isobel. She had a quick wit and was fiercely loyal once she deemed you worthy of her trust.

I wasn't as fond as Arend, he's never been my favorite of the Libertine Scholars. A bit too roguish for my tastes - and too much of a blackguard to really seem like the hero. In fact, he's the one in need of rescue a few times. I'm all for a damsel rescuing her hero, but that isn't the case. In fact, she's rescued by someone entirely different (I hope he finds love) that I liked much better than Arend.

A great addition to the story of the Libertine Scholars, and sort of an end. There's still more to come and I can't wait to read it. As a series, it is near the top of my list for great reads.

Entangled Scandalous

A match made for mayhem.
“I’ve no intention of mating with this poor excuse of a man,” Lainie MacGregor declares after reciting her wedding vows. But it’s too late. Far from her beloved Highlands, her fate is sealed.
Ridley Malvern, Lord Caulfield, desperate for her dowry, agrees to marry a wealthy Scot’s daughter sight unseen. He is unaware his tantalizing bride is running from the law. Despite their sizzling attraction, all Lainie desires is to return to her clan. Attempting to make things right, Caulfield takes his wife back to the Highlands only to discover why her father sought the marriage—Lainie is wanted for murder. For her safekeeping, they must remain in England. Now Ridley needs to win her affections and prove that a wild Highland lass and an English lord, can find a love match, after all.

Excerpt
Ridley Malvern, Lord Caulfield—given the title of baron by the queen for saving her favorite son from drowning—was about to marry a total stranger.
He stood at the altar of the small chapel located on his parents’ estate, doing his best to appear the eager groom. As the organist played the first notes of a tune he failed to recognize, and his heavily veiled bride started down the aisle on the arm of her strapping older brother, Ridley’s gut wrenched. It was all he could do to keep from bolting. His eldest brother, Lord Eastleigh, stood beside him acting the part of groomsman. Eastleigh tilted his head toward Ridley and spoke through his teeth. “Do you think she might resemble her sibling?”
“God, I hope not. Look at his hair and beard, would you? They’re so orange and thick, he could hide a carrot with none being the wiser.”
Eastleigh’s lips twitched. “I doubt she sports a beard. But then, one never—”
“Sod off.”
Jamie MacGregor strode down the aisle with his sister on his arm as if heading into battle, his red and green plaid kilt fluttering about his bare knees. He was a broad-shouldered man with legs thick as tree trunks. A small knife tucked into the top of MacGregor’s heavy knit stocking reminded Ridley that a Scot was always prepared.
Ridley let out a soft groan. “Why the bloody hell did I agree to this charade?”
“Because you were too bloody stubborn to accept my offer of a loan.”
“Bugger me.”
“Thank you, no.”
When he’d been swimming in wealth, Ridley had halfheartedly engaged London’s ton in his quest for a proper wife, yet none had met his stringent requirements. Now that he’d lost everything he’d worked so hard to achieve, he was about to wed Lainie Margaret MacGregor, a Highland lass he’d never set eyes on until this very moment. He had to remind himself that the marriage would make him fabulously wealthy.
But at what price—my soul?
