Sonya Loveday, first and foremost is a reader, an avid one. It is of that love that brought her to purchasing her first laptop in 2009, and publishing her first novel, Casted, in 2013.
In early 2014, Sonya expanded Casted and then went on to publish Spelled, the sequel to Casted in March, wrapping up the series, and her stint with Paranormal Romance. For now.
Not long after the completion to the Casted Series, Sonya tried her hand at New Adult/Coming of Age, a sub-genre of Contemporary Romance. Thusly, the Six were born with The Summer I Fell, which released at the end of July 2014. The demand from readers was instantanious, which brought about End Note, the second book of the series in December 2014.

Reviewing a Series on Amazon ~ Something They Did Right

I'm not sure how many of us may have noticed the new series pages on Amazon. I saw them and didn't really think much other than "cool, now I can see the whole series at once and read in order easily."

Not only that, but it tells you how many of the series you own and how much it would cost you to purchase the remaining books!! My one-click finger is going to love this - my wallet is going to hate this. It also tells you if the titles are part of Kindle Unlimited.

All the series information on one page - including the price to own all of what has been released is a great thing from both an author and a reader perspective. No more hunting down the reading order or trying to calculate how much it's going to cost you by adding it up book by book.

But there's more to them than that. A.L. Kessler pointed out to me last night that you can now leave a series review. This is great!!! Being able to read a review for the entire series is a great way to see if it stays strong through the end, or tapers off somwhere in the middle - all in one place.

I am going to go through my completed series (yes, completed only - my personal choice) and start leaving some reviews - I encourage the authors out there to encourage your readers to do the same! And you don't have to wait for the series to finish - that's just how I'm choosing to go about it.

Every instinct in Angelo's body screamed at him to lunge for his weapon. Instead he set his feet for impact, blocking her slashing claws. Unbelievably, after a few moments of struggling, she went still, all the fight gone...

Minka isn't sure she should trust the sexy Special Forces soldier who found her. Subjected to horrors, on the run from scientists set on locking her in a cage, Minka is terrified of the monster she's becoming...and somehow, Angelo is the only one who can calm the beast inside her and make her feel safe.

But can she trust the way he makes her feel when she's not even sure she can trust herself?

Yes! Finally a lead in the hybrid case and who may (or may not) be behind it all. All thanks to Minka - a new hybrid that Angelo finds running for her life and terrified.  Another very exciting, but not in a non-stop action way like some of the books are, story with lots of great moments of every sort. The development of this overall story arc was the best part of this book for me. Finally moving forward with some good solid information was great.

Minka is super special - in a lot of ways. She's incredible smart and has a heart of gold. She is a bit of a delicate personality as well. Understandably terrified and confused about what has been done to her, she latches on to Angelo and doesn't let go (quite literally). He becomes her anchor, the one thing she needs to continue to be the person she knows she is.

We've met Angelo here and there in the past books as one of Landon's ex-teammates. He's a great guy, but sometimes there just didn't seem to be much to him. I'm finding a hard time thinking of something about him that really stood out from all the other heroes. Incredibly protective towards Minka, they do make a cute couple. They have some adorable moments that you will just have to smile at - you won't be able to help yourself.

Feline shifter and covert agent Eden Bristow can’t help noticing how good Travis is at guarding her back—and turning her on. She hasn’t had much luck with guys, not once they get a look at her fangs and claws.

Travis doesn’t seem to have a problem with her being a shifter, and Eden is ready to make up for lost time. But one little thing is getting in the way of their romance—a gang of bad guys, and the vicious wolf shifter leading them.

This was a cute and exciting story, but I really disliked getting pulled out of the main storyline. I missed the old friends I've met along the way, and I really really wanted to know more about the whole hybrid mystery - and I didn't get that.

What I did get was a great stand-alone novel with some really fun characters. Eden was great - if a little too invincible at times. And Travis took finding out about shifters a little too well - but hey, it's a novella so we don't have a lot of time for people to really soak in new things.

While we get to see a few of our friends from previous books, they make very brief appearances - so no need to know what has happened up until now to really get into this one. This is more of a mobster vs cops type of story as well. A nice change from the super-secret-government-agency out to save the world type of story to mix things up a bit.

My Review:

Elizabeth seems to be your typical awkward yet attractive graduate student, but suddenly the world of legends comes bursting into her master's thesis and all hell breaks loose. Elizabeth finds herself swept away to a far away place - well just Chicago to start with, but that's just a little baby step for what's to come. Elizabeth is about to take the trip of a lifetime.

As Elizabeth begins to learn more of her family history, lots of other secrets start crawling out of the woodwork. There were times I didn't know who were the good guys and who were the bad. But they all want to use Elizabeth and her unpracticed powers for their own needs. Finn is at the heart of this conflict and does a great job of totally confusing me emotionally. I loved him, I hated him, I thought he needed to die a slow painful death, and then I wanted to smother him with love. 

Through the Veil is quite an epic adventure with some really amazing characters and creatures. I couldn't put it down for anything! And now I have to wait for book two - I'm not sure how I'm going to manage that.
