Guest romance author Kellysten

Please welcome romnace author Kallysten

“You know, I could make it really good for you,” Nicholas whispered, his lips brushing the back of Andrew’s ear. “You wouldn’t have to do a thing, I’d take care of you.”
With a quick laugh, Andrew bucked, and promptly reversed their positions so that he was lying on top of Nicholas, pinning his hands down above his head.

“Not the way it works,” Andrew said in a low, rumbling voice. His eyes were glowing with molten gold. “I’m the one who takes care of you, remember?”

Nicholas arched his hips up so that his cock pressed against Andrew’s, both of them as hard and needy. Nicholas lowered his eyelids, affecting a coyness that was a mere echo from a long-gone time, and tilted his neck to one side to present his throat to Andrew.

Guest romance author Dianna Hardy + giveaway!

The Time To Be Independent.
by Dianna Hardy

Whatever you think about Fifty Shades Of Grey, it cannot be argued that its success has brought, not just romance, but super-steamy / erotic romance into the limelight. Something that was closet is now mainstream.

As an independent author, I have to say that I’ve noticed a difference in attitude and my readership since that book was picked up by commercial publishers. Friends and acquaintances, who would never have asked about my books before, suddenly are asking.

When I wrote The Witching Pen (paranormal romance) one year ago, the fact that I wrote sex scenes in a book that would otherwise have been mainstream, simply counted it out of the running for any kind of acknowledgement from general readers. Now… there’s never been a better time to be an independent author. One by one, self-published authors are finding themselves picked up by big publishers, but more than that, they are finding that their readership is growing because of a new acceptability and accessibility within the mind and public consciousness, that wasn’t there before.

Laurie’s upcoming Indie Romance Convention is another example of how now is the time to be independent, if you were ever going to try.

From The Witching Pen (book one of The Witching Pen Novellas) to this third book out today, The Demon Bride, my writing life has been one fast-paced, amazing journey that I hope continues to grow stronger every day.

The Witching Pen Novellas are available in digital and paperback format. All info and buy links can be found on the series website The Witching Pen Novellas.

The Demon Bride
(Book Three of The Witching Pen Novellas)

Two thousand and eleven years after the birth of the Failed One, the Witching Pen will be made manifest on Earth by the Great Shanka Witch of the Old Scrolls. By her hand, the Earth will rumble and shatter, and all dimensions will bleed into one.

The true purpose of the Witching Pen has been revealed, and it must be destroyed before an apocalyptic prophecy comes true. There's just one problem – the Pen is indestructible.

As everyone searches for much needed answers, Elena lays down plans for a radical mission to save her mother from the Shanka's shadow world.

Meanwhile, Mary has finally discovered who she really is, and what that means for the human race.

What Mary doesn't know, is that Gwain has been searching for her for over ten thousand years, and had lost all hope of finding her. Now that he has her, he's faced with an impossible choice: does he save the woman who altered his very existence, or does he sacrifice her to save mankind?

The Demon Bride eBook is released TODAY in Amazon stores and Smashwords (other retailers to follow). All download links can be found at Dianna’s website.

The Demon Bride paperback (released 31st October) can be pre-ordered from

Guest author Amanda Arista + giveaway!

Please welcome Amanda Arista!

-How'd you get the idea for this book?

A wise woman once said that your first novel is always a little bit autobiographical. Books are therapy and your demons will be confined to the page. What these wise women failed to mention is that every book you write is autobiographical, especially in Violet Jordan’s case.
In the case of Diaries of an Urban Panther, Violet was unabashedly me in a slightly taller, slightly more stubborn, slightly more preternatural version. Diaries was born out of an intense need to see a normal chubby heroine in paranormal situation. I’d read every necromancer and vampire hunter out there and couldn’t see me on the page. Yes, they were strong and I like to think of myself as strong, but they kicked ass. I try not to make a habit of that. They have guns and cross bows and I have a Louisville slugger under my bed and I dog with bat-like ears.

The Road to Hell is Paved with Bad Intentions

Welcome to "Keys to the Coven," a humorous, tightly-plotted, sometimes dark urban-fantasy/romance set in an original universe where karma is power, sex is karma, and it's not who you know but whose soul you own that matters.

When I started “Keys,” I had an (I thought)  scathingly brilliant idea for an erotic fantasy. My hero, Max, is a demon who has to have glorious life-affirming sex with women in order to maintain the emotional connection that keeps him in the living world.  Lots of women. Lots of sex.

Because this is urban fantasy, I gave Max another job (destroying evil magic artifacts), and since it needed conflict I plopped him into a story with a reluctant witch, Felicity, who’s immune to Max’s supernatural charm.

That meant one woman and…oops…not so much sex.

Max and Felicity set about breaking a family curse that would make her the concubine of an evil arch-demon. Since she hasn’t automatically hopped into bed with him, Max has to learn to interact with Felicity as a person. And since he’s not going away without completing his job (demon!), Felicity has to “witch up” and accept her supernatural powers.

In writing my latest series, I looked at the paranormal clans in my stories – vampires, witches and werewolves – and put them up against each other, strengths to weaknesses, in war and in the bedroom. I wanted to see who had the upper hand where, but also, how I could increase the heavy breathing, the orgasms, the relationships that broke all the rules in my little resort town of The Willows.

Book tour Bound by Decency by Claire Ashgrove

Please welcome Claire Ashgorve!!

What’s On A Pirate Menu?

Hi all!  I’m back again this month, and super excited to be able to talk about Bound by Decency.  This book, of the many I’ve written, is very close to my heart, second only to the Templar series.

So, if you were on a pirate ship (and let’s assume you’ve been invited not taken captive), and the meal bell rang, I think you’d be a bit surprised what might appear at your table.  Keep in mind pirate fare was always fresh stale, made with the finest stalest ingredients available.

Let’s take a peek at the menu:

Author guest post Rachel Carrington

Please welcome romance author Rachel Carrington

Imaginary Worlds—What’s Not to Like?

I write fantasy and paranormal romances. Both are popular genres and have dedicated fan bases. Readers are always clamoring for another chance to step inside a vampire’s castle or be whisked away in the magical arms of a wizard. And in every story, there is a unique world to be explored that explains why these romances are so well-loved.

Step outside reality and enter a place where the night is magical. Yes, dark creatures exist in those dangerous forests but so do vampires who will do anything to protect the woman they love, shapeshifters who unite with their mate for life, and werewolves that save mere mortals from certain death.

Imagine living in a world where anything is possible because everything is fantasy. You could see two moons on the same night or feel the universe surround you as you’re lifted off the ground in the arms of your vampire. You could watch plants grow and surround you as you walk, hear a bird actually call your name, and feel the ripples of the water as you glide across a lake that wasn’t there moments before.

And forget about the everyday boredom of commutes, time clocks, and grocery shopping.
In these worlds, you can explore with confidence, knowing you’re going to find something unique.

There is no doubt in my mind that, in spite of the dangers, I’d choose a fantasy world any day. Where else would you find the undead sexy or the glowing eyes of your wolf comforting? Certainly not in the real world.

Guest post Moira Rogers

Please welcome Moira Rogers!

Hello there!  I’m Bree, one half of the paranormal romance writing duo of Moira Rogers, and I’m on a wild and crazy blog tour talking about dangerous men and the women who love them. And I’m not just talking about their heroines—I mean all the women who love them, including those of us who read & write about them!  That’s why I’m here with an excerpt from Keeping Company With Bloodhounds, a book that gives all the dirty details about those dangerous warriors. (Even if it only exists in the fictional world of the Bloodhounds.)

Keeping Company With Bloodhounds is a fictional book of fictional gossip, and in the Bloodhounds universe, I imagine it would only be the first of its kind. When you have a lot of independent minded genetically modified super soldiers with base instincts and unnatural lusts, you're bound to get a good story or two out of it. Or ten.  Or a hundred.

Please welcome Sara Curran-Ross!

Interview With Lord Nathan Valancourt, Knight Of Swords

It is a cold morning in January when I visit the human hybrid vampire, The Knight Of Swords at his ancestral home, Keeley Park in the Hertfordshire countryside.  Snow lies thickly around the large picturesque home built in the sixteenth century and across the vast beautiful Parkland containing a herd of wild deer.  Somewhere in the distance, the eerie call of peacocks can be heard coming from the grounds as we sit by a large roaring fire in the drawing room.  It crackles and hisses warmth as we talk about light topics.  I am quietly pacing myself before I ask the important questions about his past and the sudden increase in the female hybrid slave trade.

The Knight Of Swords or to refer to his human title, Lord Nathan Valancourt is not a man or more importantly, a vampire to be crossed.  He sits before me in a red leather armchair dressed immaculately in a black Armani business suit with a silk silver grey tie.  At 6”3 inches he owns a formidable sense of presence.  Nathan’s striking dark good looks and sleek black hair worn long at his neck frame his piercing blue eyes to perfection.  They easily captivate your attention holding you his willing prisoner.  And boy does he know the effect he is having on you.  Nathan Valancourt is very aware of his powerful affect on women and how he may exploit it to his advantage.  It is the type of arrogance that makes you want to slap him but adore him for it all at the same time.  It is no surprise that back in the nineteenth century before he made the change from human to hybrid Taleian vampire he was in his own words, a ‘womaniser’.

Guest Author Jaye Frances + giveaway

Thank you, WildAboutBones, for hosting me on Bitten By Paranormal Romance today. I really appreciate the opportunity to talk about The Kure, and to let your readers know about my on-going “Resolve To Read” promotion through Amazon.

Part of the challenge of writing this series was drawing on historical references to accurately establish not only the setting, but also the dark and mystical practices that were very much a part of the deep south during the time period of the story.

We're Smitten with Em Petrova and a giveaway

Crash into Me

By Em Petrova

Stimulating moments and music seem to go hand-in-hand. I think we’ve all heard that one song on the radio that sends us back in time to a school dance, when we swayed in the arms of a boy we crushed on. ( If I tell you mine, it will give away my age.) Or we hear a song we danced to at our weddings and the warmth of the day spreads through us.

For me, as an erotic romance writer, I also use songs as my muse. One of my FAVORITE songs to write sex scenes to is Crash into Me by Dave Matthews Band.

Okay, so disregard the video elements because no one really understands videos anyway, right? But listen to those lyrics—it just screams tortured hero, doesn’t it? A man who longs for a woman so much he can think of little else. He sleeps, eats, dreams, and breathes her.

Also, the song has the perfect rhythm to make love to—hips bumping, lips meeting, clothes peeling off, skin caressed… You can see how this song inspires a love scene every time!

What are your favorite love songs? I’d love to hear your choices! And please read on for a special excerpt from my latest release Outlaws of Love.

Getting Smitten with Suzanne Rock and Her Leading Men with a Giveaway

Top Five Most Romantic (and Sexy) Leading Men In the Movies

Hi everyone! With Valentine’s Day fast approaching, people turn to all things romantic, and that includes romantic movies. I don’t know about any of you, but when I think of romantic movies, I always think of the sexy leading men. These guys charge onto the silver screen and sweep the heroine off her feet. They sweep *us* off our feet as well. So for this blog, I thought I’d list my top five most romantic leading men. Do you agree with me? Let’s see…

#5 – Patrick Swayze – Dirty Dancing This was a tough call for me, since I loved him in “Ghost” too, but since Dirty Dancing ended up on a more upbeat note, I went with that. ;)

Favorite Line – “Nobody Leaves Baby in the Corner”

He’s the tough yet sexy dancer who loves Baby for who she is and gives her the self-confidence to stand up for what she believes in. What’s not to like?

#4 – Collin Firth – Bridget Jones’ Diary

Favorite Line – “No, I like you very much. Just as you are.”

He’s shy, he’s a little self-deprecating, and he had me as soon as I saw him in that ridiculous Christmas sweater.

#3 – Richard Gere – Pretty Woman

Favorite line – "You and I are such similar creatures Vivian. We both screw people for money”

A rich businessman sweeps a girl off her feet and gives her everything she desires? Sign me up!

#2 – Humphrey Bogart - Cassablanca

Favorite Line – “Here’s looking at You, kid.”

Perhaps my favorite movie of all time. Who doesn’t fall in love with Ricky and his bar? It’s so romantic, so tragic, so beautiful. Truly a classic.

#1 – Michael Douglas – Romancing the Stone

Favorite line – “You’re the best time I’ve ever had.”

Hey – I’m a romance author, how could this NOT make the top of the list? I think almost every romance author points to this movie as one of their favorites. Perhaps we all have a little Kathleen Turner in us, and we all hope that Michael Douglas will come in and sweep us off our feet. ;)

So there you have it – my favorite top five romantic movies. Do you agree? Is there a movie I left off the list? Tell me about it!

Guest Post with Clarrissa Lee Moon + freebie

Welcome Clarrissa Lee Moon

Hey readers,
The number one question always thrown at me is...why do you write about relationships that have more than one partner? And how would one, in fantasy or real life, deal with so many egos?

If one was being sarcastic, the easy answer is a lot of sex. But for real, the answer would be being great at diplomacy and always willing to be flexible and adaptable to any situation. One relationship is hard enough to deal with on a daily basis but to have to keep more than one man happy takes a willingness to go that extra mile in making sure all are happy campers.

Always making sure no one man has had more attention than any of the others; and women with children are already very good at this when you have more than one child. There really isn't much of a difference. Just kidding...but not:)

Most men, face it girls, are really just over grown children in the end. Men with power attitudes, power ties and the whole 'alpha ego' thing is the really big challenge. Juggling all alphas with no betas in a relationship is like handling nitro with a temper. Careful handling is needed on a 24/7 basis and you had better be real good at ducking and rolling when the fur flies. Never get in the middle of an alpha war. You'll just wind up feeling like Kibbles an' Bits at the end of it. Let them duke it out and be ready with the hydrogen peroxide and butterfly band aids afterwards, followed by intense love making and don't even think about saying no. They'll seriously need to blow off what's left of their testosterone- so bend over and like it with a smile.

So with all this in mind, writing about one on one relationships is easy. It's been done to death with several scenarios of how the relationships got started. Writing about polyandry relationships is much harder and therefore a challenge to me. Plus, I think women would be happier and bills would be paid more easily if there were more in a relationship than just the two. Seriously, two pay-checks barely covers monthly expenses anymore and both are exhausted by the end of the week to even think about making love. If there were more bread winners in the house, there would be more time for play and for love IMHO. But that's just my two.

So if you are one of the few lucky ones who have the time to read, then shoot on over to Amazon.com where Nightwolves Coalition will be free for kindle users Jan. 21st - 22nd to help you all with those monthly expenses. Just give your mate some loving this weekend and we'll call it even.

Have a howling good time both reading and loving!

Guest Author Ann Mayburn + Giveaways

Please welcome guest author Ann Mayburn

What Can Happen in Just One Night?

Think back to best date you ever went on, when everything seemed magical and you never wanted the evening to end. I know the memory of my perfect date night still brings chills and makes me smile all these years later, and I bet it does the same for you. There is nothing quite like that moment when you realize that you’re in love and the person you’re with makes you truly, deeply happy.

That is why I enjoy writing 1 Night Stand short stories for Decadent Publishing. Each book is about that one perfect night, but in this case the date is a blind date arranged by the extraordinary matchmaker Madame Eve. I love the challenge of writing a good story that can only last that one night and must end the next day. If I do a good job with it, my readers are left knowing that despite only having a glimpse of one night into the couples lives, they know that these two (or three) were meant to be together.Decadent1NightStand.blogspot.com

Of course the sexual attraction is off the charts, but I try to make each date about more than that. I try to capture that intangible chemistry between two people that joins them together not just at a physical level, but at a soul deep one. This is especially true in my ‘Prides of the Moon’ series.

Based on a fantastic world filled with shape shifters and magic blended with the modern day world I tell the story of a different couple with each book, but the stories overlap into a larger story arch. That allows me to fulfill the requirement of just one night, while giving my readers a much longer storyline to follow. Each story can be read and enjoyed on its own, but you’ll get so much more out of the series if you read them all.

My ‘Prides of the Moon’ series has really allowed me to explore all types of sexuality. Each pride is made up of an Alpha male and female along with their beta or betas. Bi-sexuality is common and not seen as something odd or different in my world. My characters don’t face any prejudice for loving who they love, something I wish happened in the real world. This leads to some interesting combinations and pairings of Alphas and betas.

An essential part of the world of the werepumas is bonding. When an Alpha and beta bond their souls connect so that they can feel each others' emotions and while making love bonded partners of the same sex can actually feel what their mate is feeling. Trust me, it’s as hot as it sounds. ;)

In the first book of the series, ‘Amber Moon’, I tell the story of Nick and Madeline Turea who are searching for the perfect beta female to complete their pride. As you read the story you’ll realize why there is no room for jealousy and mistrust in the relationship. Instead their trust in each other allows them the kind of trust that is the foundation for any relationship, conventional or otherwise.

I hope you enjoy my ‘Prides of the Moon’ series and I’d encourage you to take a peek at other books in the 1 Night Stand series from Decadent Publishing. With over twenty authors and counting contributing to the series you get a fantastic variety of stories. For me they’re like hot chocolate chip cookies right out of the oven, I can’t resist them. ;)

So tell me gentle reader, what was your perfect date?
