Felicity Heaton Her Wicked Angel Virtual Book Tour October 5th-November 29th

Interview with Apollyon and Serenity, hero and heroine of Her Dark Angel by Felicity Heaton

Thank you, Laurie, for having me here today at Bitten by Paranormal Romance as part of my Her Wicked Angel Virtual Book Tour!

First, here’s a little about me. I’m a paranormal romance author and I’ve been writing since 2005, and went indie in 2006. I love to write big worlds, populated by vampires, shifters, demons, fae and angels, and I have several series. This tour is about the Her Angel series, where passionate angels fight to protect the women they love in a deadly war between Heaven and Hell.

Today, I’m catching up with Apollyon and Serenity, the hero and heroine of Her Dark Angel, which was the first book in my Her Angel paranormal romance series, who also appear in the latest book, Her Wicked Angel.

Blog tour with romance author A.L. Kessler

In the Light of the Moon is the first in my paranormal romance series Dark War Chronicles. Kassity is a panther-lycan that owes the vampire Lucius a debt and that is why she kills for him. Lucius rules over a territory and will use anything he can to control his people. He’s not willing to let go of his prized cat, even when she meets her fated mate. Kass is tired of her life with Lucius and wants to gain back control over her beast, but one thing keeping her from leaving is her family. The Black Moon Clan has gone insane and has slaughtered every female except for Kassity, the one who got away. Cornered now by The Circle, the unofficial rulers of the vampire kind, they need to get Kassity back and deliver her to The Circle.  They hire a mercenary named Jaxon, he goes where the money is and isn’t afraid to rescue Kassity from the big bad vampire. Needless to say, things get interesting.

The world of DWC is one where the government and very few civilians know that supernatural creatures exist. There is a war raging between every like of creature and everyone wants a different outcome. Each book in the series will reveal a little more about the different sides of the war anywhere from vampires, to Hunters, witches and fae, no creature is out of question here. Things are about to change. Choose your side.

An Immortal Soul
By Poppy Dennison

Mind. Body. Soul. There’s something magical in those three words, a yearning for balance that hides deep with us all. Or, if you’re one of my readers, it means that you can finally get your hands on the final book of my Triad trilogy, Soul Magic.

I knew from the get-go that Soul Magic would be the hardest book for me to write. How to really delve into the magic of the soul? I created a world where all three types of magic are pivotal, but Soul Magic…man, I’ve got to tell you I was biting my nails as I told this final story.  This book features Cormac, a centuries old vampire as he comes to terms with his past—a past which has come back to haunt him.

When I first created the Triad world, I looked at other famous vampires as inspiration. What stood out to me the most was the duality of their natures. The romantic hero vampires we all know and love (Angel, Eric Northman, the Salvatore brothers from The Vampire Diaries) all seem to have this good side/bad side that really draws me in as a viewer and a reader.

Will Eric change his wicked ways for Sookie or will he always have his bite first, think later attitude (In Eric’s case, I’m voting for the second…he is a sexy bad guy, don’t you think??) I love watching Damon Salvatore smirk his way through an episode as he watches his brother struggle with his vampirism.

I approached Cormac’s character in a similar way. Much like Eric Northman, Cormac’s been around for a couple centuries. In my world, his immortality is connected to the Soul Magic he receives after being turned into a vampire. But Cormac is different—he started life with the Mind Magic of the mages and the remnants of that magic still reside inside him.

Interview with author Mary Ellen Taylor

Mary Ellen Taylor interview

Hello Mary, I’m so happy to have you here with us today. After reading your book I fell in love with the whole setting, the character and the bakery itself. Would you please tell everyone your inspiration for writing The Union Street Bakery?

Adoption is very near and dear to my heart.  My youngest child is adopted and I couldn’t help but notice that adoptees have lots of joys but also worries and concerns about family.  Seemed natural to take these emotions and work them into a character.

I loved how you entwined the paranormal, history and mystery all together. But what I really enjoyed was how the mystery and history seemed to unravel as I was reading. So, my question is how hard was it to keep up with the history and mystery during your writing process?

Guest Author/Giveaway Ashlynne Laynne

Ashlynne Laynne’s Interview with Ascher and Shauna Rousseau

Ascher and Shauna both appear through bi-fold patio doors leading to a cozy lanai, overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

Ashlynne: (stands and hugs Ascher) “Ash, it’s so good to see you.” (hugs Shauna) “Shauna you look fabulous. You’ve been working out?”

Shauna: (sits in a wicker chair opposite Ashlynne) “I’m facing the trials soon, so I have to focus on my conditioning.”

Ashlynne: “So, what are you doing to prepare?”

Shauna: “Ash and I run a lap around the island every morning and he’s teaching me to use a javelin and daggers.”

Ashlynne: Is Ascher fair, or does he run laps around you while using his vampire speed?”

Shauna: “You know Ash; he’s such a practical joker sometimes. He’s always jeering me and telling me to move my ass.”

Ashlynne: “You look great, Shauna. I’m sure you’ll pass with flying colors.”

Caves – Some of the World’s Most Naturally Creepy Places

Paranormal romance fans understand creepy.  They like creepy.  A little bit, anyway.

But creepy, in paranormal terms, is something that is manufactured by ghouls, goblins, demons and spirits…and authors with very good imaginations.

Caves, though…caves in their natural state are the creepiest and most frightening places you can find, and you don’t need a souped up scary movie soundtrack to enhance the sensations.

Cavers – people who like to climb down into the bowels of the Earth – or Potholers, as they’re also called – have got nerves of steel and a brain that is wired slightly differently from the average human.  They have to have, because caves are not pleasant places.

Let me explain.

There’s possibly a good chance you’ve been in one or two caves in your lifetime.  Tourist locations open to the public, where you can walk in and have a look around at the stalactites and stalagmites, while a tour guide or self-guided presentation tells you about how old the cave and the fossils found inside it are.

It’s fascinating and chilly and you’re pretty glad to get out into the sunshine at the end.

Fair summary?

These sorts of caves that have been opened to the public are the MacDonalds version of caves.  They’ve been retailed and tamed to the point of inoffensiveness.  Access to the cave is paved over, made safe and accessible to all.  Lights are strung up and in some cases, air conditioning pumped in.  The cave floor itself is swept smooth, and paths and steps built and poured, while hand rails are constructed to ensure you have something to cling to as you climb up and down.

If there are any pockets of offensive or dangerous gas, noxious water, hot water, or too cold water, they’re removed or diverted.  Tourists are kept away from unstable areas where cave-ins are possible, or the floor is simply too difficult to walk across (until concrete paths can be poured).

The flip side to all the guiderails and paths and lighting is that while the human tourists are being shepherded carefully along narrowly defined routes, the impact on the natural flaura and fauna is being kept to a minimum.
But what humans don’t see, with all that careful shepherding, is what a cave is really like, without its make-up on.

You might tend to think of a cave like you see them in the movies and on TV; with conveniently flat, sandy floors, and tunnels that run horizontally to provide access to the main chambers.

Caves are nothing like that in reality.  They’re pitch black, unlit spaces in the earth where shifts in tectonic plates left gaps and holes in the rock and earth.  Time, water and erosion did the rest, and what you’re left with is fantastically shaped spaces that often have no identifiable “floor” at all, or walls, or a roof.  When you make your way through them, you begin to understand how the continents were formed and are still shifting and shrugging every now and again…and how truly insignificant humans are, with all their surface activity.

The toe of land at the bottom of Western Australia (where it says Cape Leewin on the map) is riddled with caves.  Some of them have been commercialized just like I described at the beginning of this post.  Some of the caves are well known only the local pot-holers.   But there are more areas deep inside the cliffs and earth of Margaret River than have ever been discovered.

It’s that raw opening in the centre of the earth feeling that I tried to convey in Terror Stash.  There is one scene in particular where the three main characters face what is called a “tight squeeze” in caving terms.

See if it creeps you out.  And not a ghost in sight.

Guest paranormal romance author Mandy Harbin

Please welcome Mandy Harbin

First, I want to thank Laurie for letting me invade her blog today. She was the first blogger who contacted me and said she just had to interview me after reading the first book in my Woods Family Series, SURROUNDED BY WOODS.  So ending my tour on the last book in the series at her site is bittersweet, but totally fitting.

It’s been almost two years since the first book was released, which is really hard for me to believe. It was the first book I’d ever published, and I’ve learned a lot since then. I’ve also accomplished so much during the past two years as well. I just signed a contract on the 14th book that I’ll be publishing and have achieved PAN status with the Romance Writers Association. I’m not making Maya Banks’ kind of money, but I’m at a place in my life where writing isn’t just a hobby any more. And I love that!

I often get asked why I write paranormal romance, and the answer is simple. Because it’s awesome! There’s nothing like reading a book and not knowing just what the hero can do, or the heroine… hell, even the villain for that matter. When reading contemporary romances, the characters have limitations imposed on them, so that element of surprise is missing. Don’t get me wrong, I love reading all kinds of romance, but there’s just something about paranormal romance that satisfies everything this reader needs in a well-crafted story.

Unfortunately, some people in the romance industry might disagree with me on that. I went to a conference a few weeks ago and couple of the editors there—from major romance publishers—said they’d felt paranormal was on its way out and contemporary was the hot new thing. *sigh* Just because women snatched up copies of the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy in record numbers doesn’t mean that that’s all we want to read (BTW, I haven’t read that trilogy… I might be the only women left who hasn’t). The way I see it, fads come and go. Sure, contemporary might be hot right now, but that doesn’t mean we need to neglect our shape-shifting, vampire, angel, witch, and demon characters we love, too. My iPad can store a bunch of books and doesn’t care which genre they’re in.

So let’s keep our love for the paranormal genre alive. When Fifty Shades fades into the darkness, they’ll be a hot demon lover lurking to take its place.

In the meantime, if you haven’t tried my paranormal series, you can get book one, SURROUNDED BY WOODS, for free right now on Amazon and B&N! If you have any doubt about downloading it, just go read Laurie’s review on it. ;-)

You can also enter to win a $100 gift card to Amazon or B&N by entering here:

Thanks again for letting me ramble on today. Oh, and just because SURROUNDED BY SECRETS is the last Woods Family book, doesn’t mean it’ll be last you hear from this world. *wink, wink*

Please welcome Author Heather Killough-Walden

I write about vampires.

They say that to write well, you must write what you know. Many have mirthfully and even lovingly referred to me as a vampire. I always duck my head coyly and never bother to deny it.
There is a mystique to this title, and a verity in it as well. I am not quick to cast it off.

But there is someone who calls me something else, and this one knows me deeply.

My daughter calls me Moon Dancer.

I’ve never been a fan of the day. Even as a little girl, I felt there was something so pompous about the sun, so showy and pushy. It was selfish, the sun. It stole the spotlight and shoved real beauty into the background.
I would hide away and while away until the sun finally got tired of its bullying.
Then I would creep to a window or step outside – and smile.
An entire universe revealed itself; stars, planets, darkness.
The contrast of purple, indigo, midnight, and black against the pulsing twinkle of distant possibilities left me breathless.

I laughed out loud sometimes. As a child, I reached my little hands up and clutched at the endlessness, delighting in the light year pixie dust. Nothing blinded me. It only shared and entertained and pleased.
I dream at night, but not in sleep. I look up, and I imagine, and I wonder.
I always have.

My daughter calls me Moon Dancer because I come alive when the sun goes down. After twilight has faded into the sable shades of infinity, I breathe.
I dance.

In the forever – and on the moon.

Please welcome V.S. Nelson!

WRITING SERIES – An interview with V.S.Nelson, the author of Sekhmet’s Guardians.

I am so thrilled to be here! I originally wanted to talk about my two new releases but on my way here someone on the train asked me what the difference was between writing a series and a romance novel with a happy ever after ending.

I have to admit I was taken a bit off guard as I never seriously gave it much thought until the question was put to me. I merely wrote what the Guardians and the other characters within my novels dictated to me.
Thinking back, I guess I have always viewed the books I have read as on-going. I was often disappointed at the end of a novel when I discovered there wasn’t anymore to be read. Most of the time, when the author did a fine job of portraying the characters and their story and after the characters managed to fight their way through all the ups and downs, the romantic couple, who you came to love, fulfilled their destiny and became a couple–end of story. Or is it?

5 of my Guiltiest Pleasures

This could be embarrassing, but we're all friends here, right? Right? Good. Okay, so five of my guiltiest pleasures...

1.     Reading
Snuggling down with a good book for more than 5 minutes is a luxury most days. And when I say snuggle down, I really mean snuggle down. I'm talking comfy clothes, favorite chair/bed, a yummy beverage, a warm blanket and a great read. And you don't stop until THE END.

2.     A Glass of Wine and a Bath
Riesling for me please. Extra bubbles.

Ghostwriter

             By Lissa Bryan

Ghostwriter is a paranormal romance, but it is also about the “ghosts” that haunt us all: regrets, loss, and guilt. Seth is a ghost, but he’s also a man haunted by his horrible experiences during WWI.
Today, we would understand Seth suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder, and he could find assistance in therapy and medication. But during Seth’s time, PTSD wasn’t understood or recognized as a legitimate problem.

Gertrude Stein called it the “Lost Generation,” the men who came home from the war changed by their experiences, and tried to fit back in with a society that did not understand. Ernest Hemmingway—who may have been afflicted with it himself—wrote about it in his story Soldier’s Home.

Sadly, it is still an issue we are dealing with today as our troops return from Iraq and Afghanistan. Though we understand PTSD better now and there are treatments for it, the stigma remains. Many of those afflicted, like Seth, try to hide their problems, sometimes with tragic results.

Sara, who comes to live on the isolated little island in Seth’s old house, is battling “ghosts” of her own: a lifetime of emotional abuse from her mother, and later, from her boyfriend. She finds herself dumped and broke, and has to find a cheaper place to live.  She has a small advance from her publisher for an autobiography she is ghostwriting for a politician, but that will not last long.

The little house on the island seems like a godsend, and she loves it even more when she finds out it was once the home of Seth Fortner, her favorite author, whose books provided her with much-needed escape from her grim reality when she was young.

Sara is fascinated by Seth, but little is known about his life. His family is strangely tight-lipped on the subject of their famous relative. With the exception of Ginny, the woman who rented the house to Sara, his family doesn’t seem happy to have Sara living there.

Seth is not at all happy to have his solitude disrupted by Sara’s presence, and the situation becomes even worse as Sara begins to explore her new home. She finds a trunk of his letters in the attic and begins to unravel the mystery of Seth’s life, and his unexplained disappearance.

After his efforts to drive her away fail, Seth tentatively forms a friendship with Sara and she begins to draw Seth out of his shell bit by bit. In her dreams they meet and gradually fall in love. As he learns to trust her, she learns to trust herself. Perhaps in helping him to heal from his wounds, she can heal her own heart as well.

Thank you for the opportunity to share an excerpt of my paranormal romance Creatures of the Moon with you.

When detective Lydia Davis apprehends the serial killer she’s been tracking for months, she decides to relax with a camping trip. But after being attacked in the wild, she starts to change in a way that only Ryan Williams - a reporter who's far more than he seems - can understand.

Using his job to help him hunt for the feral killer, Ryan needs to help Lydia contain her budding urges through the first cycle of the full moon...or the curse will consume her soul. But how can he help her without revealing his own secret?

The following scene shows Lydia and Ryan just before an attempt to bait the serial killer they are chasing into the open:

“Over the last three months, twenty-two bodies have been attributed to the Butcher,” she called to Ryan through the bathroom door. “Fifteen of those were hookers or college girls cruising the bar scene. The other seven were homeless men. We set Jacobs up as a homeless man in the park.” She paused to apply lipstick.

“And we know how that turned out,” came Ryan’s reply.

Explicit or descriptive, is less more?

Tasting Fire is not your average paranormal, shape-shifting, romance.  In my story, twenty-thousand years ago, a heat loving bacteria that lives only in hot springs, infected primitive nomads in many parts of the world.  The bacteria when ingested orally allows the infected individual with just the right genetic makeup to add a secondary DNA sequence to their own genetic code.  Over the course of thousands of years this little bug has given rise to the many different legends of shape-shifting that have evolved on nearly every continent. Tasting Fire is the story of how one species in particular, the Pari of central Asia, fought to stay hidden and what happens when they are revealed to the world.

When I sat down to write my first paranormal romance titled Tasting Fire, back in the beginning of the year, I had a lot of plot issues to consider.  Among them was what type of verbiage to use in describing the sexual activity taking place in the story.  As this was my debut novel, I was unsure which way to go.  I needed the love scenes to read realistically and to create those scenes, I needed to be comfortable with the language.

I remember when I sat down to write that first love scene in the book, I was so embarrassed that I even picked up my cats who usually are my constant writing buddies and unceremoniously dumped them in the hallway outside my office and closed the door.  Three hours later, I had on my hard drive what must have been the worst love scene known to man (or woman).  All I can say is thank goodness for rewrites!

I remember vividly as I sat in front of my computer trying to decide how to write that first scene, I wondered how I should approach it.  My final decision was to write in the same manner as I preferred to read romance novels myself.  When I read an erotic romance, I personally prefer descriptive terms as opposed to more explicit language.  As a reader, I have found to be drawn more into the scene if the language is more descriptive than graphic.  One very strong example of that is the John Norman, Gor saga.  The first Gor novel was written in 1966 and the series has stayed popular ever since.  John Norman would go on to write 32 books in the series.  I don't recall any of the ones I've read having graphic language and yet the books are extraordinarily erotic due to themes of dominant males and submissive females.  Personally, I think they are more erotic due to their lack of graphic terms. I'm a big believer in less is more in literature.

Blog tour/giveaway with Moira Rogers

THE BACKSTORY

From the time we announced the final Red Rock ebook in 2009, people have been asking us when we'd go back to the Sanctuary world and write more about werewolves and their witch rivals.  In the beginning we didn't want to return--we had our four books and our two prequel novellas, and those were the stories we had to tell.  But people kept asking, and we kept saying, "Well, what if...okay, no, but maybe if..."

Please welcome Danica Winters!

Happy New Year!

This week is the week for resolutions and new beginnings.  I have a series of resolutions (as I always do) I will write more, weigh less (writing is not easy on the waist line), and I will spend more quality time with the family.  I am like every other woman—filled with goals, aspirations and dreams to be the most perfect version of myself (and men wonder why we are so hard on ourselves).

I know I will fail at some of my goals, I tend to allocate for a little regression.  I may not lose the five (alright, fifteen) pounds I would like to lose, but I have accomplished one of my dreams.  It has taken years and there has been hidden pits filled with self-doubt and self-pity.  There have been days filled with so much greatness it’s hard to believe it is my life.  In the last few years I have become a published, and somewhat well-known, author.

And it all started with a simple goal—one little resolution changed my entire life.  It was simple, write a little bit every day and see if I could write a book.  I wasn’t an English major, a librarian, or a teacher (though I envy all of those educational backgrounds); instead I have my degree in Anthropology (with an emphasis in Archeology).  I was just a normal woman, looking for a change, and filled with a dream.

This has in no way been an easy undertaking (like I said it has taken years—and will take many years to come).  There have been many more rejection letters than fan letters and acceptance letters combined.

This week marks a momentous occasion in the life of an author—this week (December 31st) my sixth book was published entitled, The Nymph’s Labyrinth through Crimson Romance.  I couldn’t be happier.  This book is the first in The Nymph Series, a three+ book collection.  I am in the editing stages of the second book entitled, Montana Mustangs, which will be available later this year.

The Nymph’s Labyrinth is the book that was in my heart.  The book I had to write because of my Archeology-loving background.  To me there are few things more fun than sitting in the bottom of a hole, dirty, sweat-covered, and searching for things that haven’t been seen or touched for thousands of years.

Draigh and Ardith Interview

Good morning! I'm Sabrina Michaels, Paranormal News Network. Today, I'm really excited to be interviewing the two people who are going to save the world from being overrun by horrible, nasty zombies. And with the possibility that the apocalypse might be coming any day now, Ardith and Draigh may turn out to be good people to know. How are you two today?
Ardith: Great, awesome really.
Draigh: I'm fine. I'd be better if I were out doing my job. That witch is creating more zombies for her army as we speak.
Oh, okay we'll talk fast. First off, can you tell me about your two organizations. You're both witches of a sort, is that correct?
Ardith: I'm an Epoch Mage, actually. We're able to travel through time to manage magical situations.
How exciting. The Epoch Council was started right after the Salem Witch Trials, right?
Ardith: Yes. Our job is to make sure nothing like that mess ever happens again. When someone steps out of line we bring them in and put them on trial in front of the council.
I see. How about you, Draigh? You're a Sorcerer?
Draigh: I'm a Sorceri Bounty Hunter. We hunt down magic users who break the law and take care of them.
Um, when you say take care of them you mean…?
Ardith: They kill them. Ruthlessly. Like animals. No questions asked.
Draigh: Shut up woman! You have no idea.
I take it you two often find yourselves at odds.
Ardith: snort
Draigh: Obviously you have an advanced degree in understatement.
What exactly is the problem between you two…I mean…erm…your two organizations?
Ardith: It's simple. Epoch Mages believe everyone has a right to have their side of the story heard. The Sorceri believe everybody has a right to do things the Sorceri way, or die.
The two women look at Draigh. He shrugs.
Draigh: I actually agree with the witch on that one. Except I'd add that the Epochs are incredibly naïve and hopelessly inefficient.
How about the two of you? I'm sensing real tension between you. Can you tell me why you dislike each other so much?
Ardith: How much time do you have? The man's a beast. He's massive and bulging and overbearing…
Draigh: She dresses like a whore and she's bossy…
Ardith: As you can see, he's uppity and judgmental…
Draigh: She thinks she knows everything…
Ardith: He doesn't listen…
Draigh: She charges blindly into situations with no care at all for her own safety…
Ardith: He hogs the shower…
Everybody blinks…Ardith's face turns red…Draigh shifts in his chair.
Alrighty then… So what's next on the docket after you two finish this job? Will the Epoch Council and the Sorceries Authority work together again?
Ardith: Doubtful. We really don't work together very well.
Draigh: Grunts, nodding.
What makes this assignment special? Why did the powers that be decide you needed to work together on this one?
Draigh: Because this rogue witch is dealing in death magic and she needs to be stopped.
Ardith: Apparently many Hunters and Mages before us have tried to capture her. Nobody has been able to do it.
Draigh: She's a tricky bitch.
So your bosses must think highly of you…to give you a job nobody else could accomplish?
Ardith: Snorts
Draigh: I think they're just running out of suckers.
Okay, well good luck in your search for the rogue. I really hope you get her. I don't relish having the world overrun by zombies. (Shudders.)
Ardith: I'll get her. Don't worry.
Draigh: You'll get her? Come on witch, you can't even enter a lust bar without starting a brawl.
Ardith: Ha! At least I'm not afraid of heights like a sissy girl!
Draigh: Scowls. Maybe not, but you are afraid of being underground aren't you? You get all clammy and twitchy like a hell hound in a church if your feet even sink a few inches into the ground.
Ardith: You're an ass!
Draigh: Cold hearted, skank dressing…
Sounds to me like you're a perfect match…
Ardith and Draigh: Shut up!
(Flinches.) Until next week, I'm Sabrina Michaels, Paranormal News Network. We scribe, you decide! Have a good one everybody!

If lust were flames there'd be scorch marks across the ages!
Ardith is a time traveling witch, a member of the Epoch Mages. Draigh is a Sorceri Bounty Hunter. They H-A-T-E each other. When they're thrown together by the elders to chase an evil rogue witch through time and save the world from flesh eating zombies, they quickly discover that, while their minds may tell them they don't like being together, their bodies don't quite agree. In fact, if lust were flames, there'd be scorch marks across the ages!

Vampire mythos classic vs. modern

Serena Zane

Over the centuries the mythos of the Vampire has both fascinated and disgusted us. Like a car accident, we just can't look away. The thought that something so beautiful could be so dangerous is almost irresistible for the human race.

As a person, I have a love of all things paranormal: vampires, werewolves, witches, etc... As a writer, the history of each has taken on a sort of morbid fascination for me. Due to the fact that there are so many different legends that have been created about the Vampire, I took what I loved most about each and then added my own twist on the vampire vs. werewolf wars of legend.

Zaniac vampires, as I like to call them, are created. In their own sub-culture, a priestess in Egyptian times fell in love with a young warrior. However, he spurned her affections, and as a curse she created the first vampire. Each vampire after that was created from this first 'original'. Zaniac vampires can shape-shift, fly, have heightened senses, mind-control, and telepathy. Silver can kill them. As is traditional, they cannot be exposed to sunlight, are affected adversely by Holy Water, and a good old fashioned stake will take them out. While they can 'fall in love' and do so intensely, there is no such thing as a 'lifemate' unlike in my favorite novels by Christine Feehan.  They do have a marriage ceremony that ties them for life and vampires do not believe in open relationships once married. Adultery is punished by death. However, before marriage, they are rather promiscuous. Zaniac vampires are immune to drugs, or disease, and are of course immortal.

The legend I have created to make this my own is a twist on the old vampire vs. werewolf wars. In Zaniac history werewolves were held as slaves by the vampire race. Werewolf blood is like a drug for vampires, creating a sense of euphoria. It is highly addictive. The werewolves rebelled back in the Middle Ages and a great war was started creating a rift between the two species. In the Dark Warrior series, vampire Damon Blake falls for Nikki Adams, who is part-werewolf. This creates numerous issues that Zaniac's can experience throughout this ongoing series. My newest release, Bane, explores how old grudges and beliefs can effect one's life. In my Hunter Diaries series, the vampires are very traditional and follow the old school form of vampire legend. In my release Insidious Whispers, Phoenix is endowed with a magical ability that will surprise you.

Just for fun, I have included a comparison chart below of some of my favorite vampire legends. Check it out, and let me know what you think!
