As a war wages between the immortals of Atlantis and those
of the vampire realm, a Poseidon warrior fights to save his world—and the woman
he loves. And no risk is too great.
The desires of a high priest.
Alaric, Poseidon’s High Priest, has made a vow to Quinn, the
woman he loves and the leader of the Resistance: to save her friend Jack before
his last bit of humanity has been drained. Should Alaric succeed, there’s one
intimate danger: he may lose Quinn to the love of the man whose life he saved.
But damn Atlantis to the nine hells, he’s willing to put Quinn’s wishes first,
regardless of the consequences.
The warning of a threat reborn.
The final jewel of Poseidon’s trident has turned up in the
hands of mysterious Ptolemy Reborn, who claims to be descended from Atlantean
royalty. He’s about to reveal to the world that Atlantis is real, positioning
himself as king. But this magical terrorist is bent on chaos. The only warrior
who can stop him is following his own path, driven by the even more powerful
force of love. Atlantean powers over the sea could prove just as
cataclysmic—for Quinn’s love, Alaric might drown the entire world.
Review:
Cool Climaxing Wrap-up!
It's hard to believe Alaric the High Priest of Atlantis
finally gets his story of happiness with Quinn the Rebel leader which brings
about the wrap up of several unfinished scenarios from each cliff hanger
endings of the past 7 books in the series.
The book had several major climaxes to include Alaric and
Quinn's HEA, the Rise of Atlantis, the ending of Anubisa the Goddess of Chaos
and Night, the breaking of the High Priest sacred vows after Five centuries of
being celibate, and the future of the Atlantean stance in the new world.
I have to say that I was glad this book brought many endings
but it was a little rough getting into in the beginning but by the middle of
the story it got more interesting and won me over to giving it a 4 star.
The connection between Alaric and Quinn wasn't quite there
for me in the beginning which made it hard for me to believe Alaric's
dedication to wanting Quinn as his life time mate. The erotic scenes were mild
compared to the other books and if I hadn't of read the previous books to know
their past I wouldn't of believed the connection at all. However, the story's
other up ending scenarios involving the paranormal world building within this
series out weighed their romance and made the story worth the 4 stars.
The author did an excellent job bringing back the past
characters together again and to me it was the best part of the story and
humorous at times. As always though the author has a great way of writing the
intense warring scenes and that alone kept me glued to the book. Here is one
scene where I wish I could of been one of Poseidon's warriors and took part in
the scene.
"Good-bye, Anubisa," Conlan said. "You are done. This is
for my mother, and for seven long, wasted years." With that Conlan pushed
Alaric to the side and plunged his sword into Anubisa's heart.
"This is for my mother, and for the lifetime I missed with my
brothers," Justice said, and he plunged his sword into her neck.
"This is for all of our family over the last five thousand years
who suffered because you didn't know how to take rejection," Ven said, and
he shoved his dagger into her gut.
Ok, so you are thrilled like me right, thinking "The
Witch is Dead!" and that should do the trick in ending her, well guess
again - LOL I'm not going to tell you what happens so you have to read the book
to see how her end comes - Hint, lets just put it this way the Trident rules -
LOL.
The added evil spawn Ptolemy was the perfect demon that I
loved seeing destroyed, his actions kept the story intense and exciting as well
and his ending was truly electrifying.
The ending was perfect as of course Poseidon has the last
word or should I say plan for the future concerning Alaric, Quinn, and all
future Atlantean race - LOL
Great Read!
