Kevin, Renee, and Amiko love each other. Like the triangle—the strongest geometric configuration—their love is both simple and complex, made more complex, perhaps, by the BDSM nature of their sexuality. Kevin is the apex of their union, a sexual sadist and dominant personality. His women, both intelligent and attractive, are submissive, but only to him. He would never harm them, but Kevin, driven by the narrow focus of his sexuality, finds pleasure in inflicting sexual pain in a controlled manner, rewarding good behavior with pleasure.

When Amiko is stolen from their triad, kidnapped by a crazy woman who fancies herself in love with the Asian beauty, both Kevin and Renee are beside themselves with concern for her welfare. They need to find Amiko before something ugly happens to her. From captivity, Amiko tries to help them, but her trail of “breadcrumbs” might just get her into more trouble than she is already in.

Kevin’s forceful nature demands that he take charge of the search and rescue operation. Renee’s love for her sister-in-spirit compels her to accept danger. Amiko must be saved. Any other outcome, the ruin of their carefully nurtured triad, simply cannot be borne.

I was pleasantly surprised by this story.  Or shall I say, painfully surprised..  I should be punished for having my doubts.  I did not really think that so much could be packed in to 70 pages. 

First the good stuff:  The synopsis pretty well covers the events that unfold.  But the authors’ talent for description and detail was very well done.  The way these three cared so deeply for each other was palpable through the pages.  Their passion and absolute need for each other was a powerful thing.  In addition, the exciting elements involving the special security teams they used for their rescue were very impressive.  Lots of action-packed details and a few “ouch” moments too…  (fingers, that’s all I’m saying…)

The more challenging stuff:  This is purely a personal opinion, not really a criticism of the author.  I cannot claim to fully understand the true dynamics of a relationship such as these three had.  Their unquenchable thirst for pain was a bit disconcerting at moments… I nearly had to say my SAFEWORD!!  I think the only thing that kept me from doing it was that their deep connection to each other was so tangible, I couldn’t be so quick to judge.  But I think the author did a pretty good job of helping this little reviewer understand something.  It wasn’t so much that they simply “craved” pain for the sake of pain.  It was that they knew their Master needed an outlet for his sadistic needs and they loved him so much that they knew they were providing him that outlet with their Submission.  It was bigger than them.  It was their gift of trust and they placed themselves in his care.  But “ouch” sometimes!!... Not sure its for me.

Ultimately, I thought it was well written and a surprisingly balanced story containing love, sex, action, tragedy, revenge, and of course Triumph over evil.
