Please welcome Pia and Annie!!
Interview with a Succubus
Hi, I’m Annie Nicholas and I’ve dragged my current heroine
along with me to hold my hand during this interview.
I’m Pia Blyton and I’m forcing Annie to come out of her
shell. Sort of… (pushes Annie to the
front of the class)
What? (blinks) I write paranormal romance and Pia is my
succubus. Wait, not mine-mine, but my character in my new book.
(whispers) Starved for Love.
Starved for Love. She has three boyfriends—
Not boyfriends, suitors, big
difference.
How?
Boyfriends implies I love them. I
can’t allow myself to do that. It’s too dangerous for my mental health. Suitors
are more like… contracted lovers? Geez, that makes them sound like prostitutes.
(laughs) Some of them would prefer that, but I don’t pay them. The contract states
that we have sex every nine days so I can feed.
What do they get out of it?
Dude! (gestures at her body) All
this.
Every nine days, divided by three boy—suitors that equals…
Yes, yes, every three days I have to
orgasm so I can feed. Don’t look at me like that. I’m not the writer. You
wouldn’t want to be around me if I don’t feed either. It can get ugly, well
actually, I’m told I get more beautiful, but that’s not the point. I get
demanding and horny and no one’s safe.
Are you close to your day three now? (clears throat)
(tosses Annie the evil eye) Yes, I
have a date after this so you’re safe.
It’s Zur-Sin’s day. His contract is
different than the others.
Oh yeah, the vampire. *sigh*
Don’t let him hear you say that!
It’s vampire MASTER. He’ll make you remember the title if he ever hears you
refer to him like that. And that’s why I
have to wait to feed. It’s not night yet. (glances at watch)
Don’t you want more in your life, Pia?
Of course I do! You know I’d do
anything to be in a loving relationship, but that’s not in the cards for my
kind. I can’t be faithful. Feeding from only one male will end up killing me.
Been there, done that, won’t be going there again.
Your parents did it.
They’re an oddity. It because of
them I have these stupid ideas. If they were normal, like the others of my
race, they’d think love was a weakness. I’m doomed. It would mean I’d have to find an incubus who
believes in love. I might as well wish for the moon to be made of cheese.
Maybe you can teach an incubus about love instead.
(snorts) He’d run the other way.
Trust me. All incubi want from succubi is to feed off us. We’re a meal ticket,
prey, and a fast lay all rolled into one. That’s not love. Hey…wait a minute,
this interview was supposed to be about you.
People, Annie writes paranormal
romances with a twist. Nothing ever seems what they appear to be. If you’re
bored with the usual story tropes check her out at www.annienicholas.com or
www.annienicholas.blogspot.com She’s even giving away her very first
published novel (2010), BAIT, for free on all sites like Amazon and Barnes
& Noble so you can test the waters.
Thank you, Pia. (bows)
Starved for Love, a romance about a succubus who believes in love and an
incubus who only believes in lust.
When her demon lover doesn't arrive for their arranged rendezvous, Pia is forced to ask her vampire lover to step in before her energy becomes dangerously low. In return he demands a favor and Pia finds herself in the hotel suite of the mysterious Valerio Hunan, who seduces her with a devastating kiss. Too late Pia learns he's an incubus who wants to lure her into marriage—a marriage without love.
As an incubus used to bedding a variety of succubi, Val doesn't understand Pia's yearning for love. He needs a succubus wife to provide him with a steady source of energy. But he wants Pia for the passion and renewed interest in life she makes him feel. Can Pia convince Val that sex isn't just for survival and love is for more than the weak?
Blurb:
After almost dying of starvation to remain faithful to a
mortal lover, succubus Pia Blyton now shields her heart by feeding solely on
men she won't fall for. The only trick is, to create energy to survive, she
must achieve orgasm. At least that rules out bad sex with her three lovers. Too
bad she's a sucker for falling in love. When her demon lover doesn't arrive for their arranged rendezvous, Pia is forced to ask her vampire lover to step in before her energy becomes dangerously low. ReplyDeleteYou really get a look into Pia with this. I loved how she answered what they got out of the deal. This interview made me want to read your book even more. What inspired you to write this book? Was Pia an easy character to write about?
ReplyDeleteSorry about the deleting my other comment I forgot to post my email.

Pia, your down to earth attitude pulled me into the story. I love your spunk.
ReplyDeleteAnnie, your writing is as always... amazing. Loved the book. No need to put my name in the pot, I already bought, read, and loved the book.
Have just started reading paranormal novels. Why have I been so slow? I am amazed at your great imagination. If I keep reading your books may be mine will get stronger.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the interview.
