Blood Spirit is the third book in the Sons of Navarus series and continues the story from the first two, Blood Avenged and Blood Betrayed. When I began brainstorming for this series, I decided that this wouldn't be one of those series where each book is a stand alone. I have a series of novellas like that, but I wanted this series' story to be bigger. So readers are introduced to the first Son, Vasilije, in Blood Avenged and very gently eased into the non-romantic plotline of a vampire civil war between the Sons of Navarus and the Archons. At the end of Blood Avenged, readers meet the rest of the Sons and it all begins.

In the second book, Blood Betrayed, readers meet Saint, another Son, and learn more about the Archons, the law and order vampires who want to take over the vampire world and mold it into their very sterile and cruel likeness. Each book in the series features the love story of one of the Sons but continues the series' plot.

Blood Spirit brings Terek's story to the forefront. Made a vampire in the mid-1300s, he was a monk in his human life and much of that spirituality still remains in him, even now over 700 years later. To many in the vampire world, Terek is almost a god himself because of how many vampires he's sired. Thousands call him their sire, and the vast majority of his vampires are females who adore him. For 700 years, he's enjoyed his life full of women but this Son seeks more. In each vampire he's sired, he's hoped to find that one soul who's meant for him.

For readers who've read Blood Avenged and Blood Betrayed, Terek is a very different hero. Vasilije was pure sensuality—sex on a stick, as one reader told me. (I love that!) And Saint was a dark and brooding hero, still sexy but tortured by his past. Terek is far more mystical, yet very earthy. Whereas Vasilije's power is sex, and Saint's is physical because of the way he looks, Terek's power is quiet and subtle, but no less powerful. It doesn't hurt that he has the power of telepathy, which has helped him seduce women for centuries.

In Ilona, Terek finds that soul he's been searching for, but convincing her that he's more than a sire with too many women won't be easy. Blood Spirit's heroine is strong-willed and determined to not fall for him.

And then there are the Archons. As the Sons try to figure out the Prophecy of Idolas to learn how to stop them, the Archons are intensifying their attack on the vampire world and the Sons. As a Son, Terek must fight to stop them just as the one woman he's waited for centuries finally has come into his life.
