Please welcome Villain #1 Lord Derssen!
Lord Dressen pulls a
chair up to Charlene’s desk.
Charlene: *looks up from her typing* Hi, Kyle.
I’m glad you’re here. Bitten by Paranormal Romance
is having a special week where we interview…
Dressen: Yes, well, I have a request. *sits*
Charlene: Oh, okay. *swivels to face him and leans back in her
chair*
Dressen: I don’t believe you portrayed my intentions
accurately concerning Anna in the Cornerstone Deep books.
Charlene: Oh?
Dressen: I’ve wanted her a long time.
Charlene: Yes.
Dressen: And, I’ve given her countless opportunities
to accept my attentions.
Charlene: Yes.
Dressen: And, the way I understand it, it was my
standing as a Grand Marshal that kept her from being at my side.
Charlene: She was looking for her soul mate, Kyle.
Dressen: But, she can’t get past the idea that a nobleman
might be that soul mate.
Charlene: Well, Cole…
Dressen: *lifts
his chin* Cole Shilo need not have part in this conversation.
Charlene: Ah. So,
you feel justified in what you’re doing to get her to see your side of things.
Dressen: Yes.
It’s justifiable. But, I have one
concern.
Charlene: Oh?
Dressen: The reader may see my actions as cold and for
one purpose. I’m not only doing this to satisfy
desires. I love Anna.
Charlene: I see.
Would it help to have a scene between you and Anna that’s a bit
more…sensitive? Show them you want her
to be happy despite all that you, uh…put her through?
Dressen: *straightens in chair and smiles* Yes. Show
that I’m not self-serving and ruthless.
I do want her to be happy when I finally get her.
Charlene: Oh.
Well, I’ll try to work something in the storyline to express your…feelings
for Anna better. Will that help?
Dressen: *nods with a sigh as he stands* I’m glad we had this conversation. *tugs at his vest* Now.
What was this about an interview?
Charlene: *grins and waves a hand* Nothing.
I think I can make things work here.
Dressen: *looks at his watch* Then, I have matters to finalize.
Charlene: The new curfew? The manipulated harvest?
Dressen: *holds up a finger to accentuate his
point* It’s the only way. *turns and leaves*
Charlene: *smiles and swivels her chair to view the
closet* Okay, he’s gone. You can come out now.
Anna: *opens the door and peeks out* Is he for real? *sits in the chair and shakes her head* He is so messed up. You’re really going to make him look all
sensitive?
Charlene: *turns back to the computer* With his personality? *chuckles*
There’s only so much that can be done.
Cornerstone Deep blurb
It's their nature - long lives and
rebirth. They're from another dimension, one gifted with advance abilities, but
they serve in Cornerstone Deep. They're the Wizards of Shilo Manor.
They outlive the mortals of this realm
by thousands of years, and when it comes to love the cruel fact is reinforced.
Reincarnation doesn't exist on this plane. They lose their wives to death with
no hope of reuniting. Yet they continue to accept others for whatever time they
have together. Save for Cole. His love for his last wife still burns in his
soul four centuries after her death.
When the service they render to the
noblemen of Cornerstone Deep brings him face to face with Anna, something
unexpected happens. In a realm of silent souls, hers calls to him.
He responds with a kiss—one that joined with the spell of servitude she
inhaled, binds her soul.
Breaking ancient covenants, angering
the lords, and bringing the gods' wrath upon him, Cole tries desperately to
undo his wrong and free his love—despite the determination of the Grand Marshal
to keep her.
