A Valentine’s Fairy who doesn’t believe in love, a human who can’t let go... can one wish change them both?
It’s her first year as the Valentine’s fairy and Amelia has been given an impossible task. Gavin Peters wants his ex-girlfriend back but fae magic can’t make people fall in love. If Amelia is to complete her task she’ll have to get creative, and that creativity includes ignoring her own, rapidly developing, feelings for the human she’s been tasked with.
Gavin has pined for his ex-girlfriend for months so when his kooky new secretary Amelia offers him a wish he knows exactly what to request. But when his ex returns Gavin begins to wonder if what he’s wished for is really what he wants. Can his Valentine’s fairy grant him another wish, and if so, will that wish bring them more than either could ever have imagined?

Sexual

I enjoyed this short erotic romance story especially the writing style of the author. I also liked the concept of a Valentine Fairy. The sex was very steamy and plentiful. If they weren’t engaged in the act, they were thinking about it very vividly! I really liked Amelia. She was sweet and funny. I had a hard time finding anything endearing about Gavin which made it hard to enjoy the romantic side of this story. I would have liked to have seen more time devoted to him taking care of Amelia outside of the bedroom.

Interesting how fey magic here cannot make people fall in love. It's a great spin for making the reader pine for love.
ReplyDeleteYet I wonder: when all the lore I've read about the fey suggested people are so easily mesmerized by faeries. That's why so many people disappear without ever being found - they're lost inside a faerie mound. (Vampires can also mesmerized the object of their affection.)
Isn't that part of what makes romance so alluring ... to think we could be magically entwined by someone so powerful?
Hey honey! Just popping in to see how you are doing and say HI! Hugs to you!
ReplyDeleteHi Vamchair, thanks for your thoughts. Yes, I've always been intrigued by the idea that fairies can mesmerize humans and I wanted to put a completely different spin on it. Human emotion is so complex it seemed to me to make sense that fae can do everything BUT change those emotions. I do agree, that the idea of being of being magically entwined to someone is an alluring thought, but what happens when that magic fades?
ReplyDeleteThanks Cecile, hugs back!
