Apparently I wasn't the only one worried about Winter's fate at the end of Rising Shadows. To help calm us readers down and lead the way into Book Two (expected late Aug it looks like), Bridget Blackwood was nice enough to provide us with a little filler to let us know what's been going on.
Varian Caina believed his chance at love and happiness died with Winter, but what if
Winter isn't dead? Why allow everyone to grieve? Winter has assassins after her, sent by the Seelie Queen Tanith and faces a new enemy in the Unseelie King Corrigan. Can Varian turn his back on Winter or will he embrace his second chance? A short story in the World in Shadows series between books one and two.
I loved seeing Winter again and was so glad that she might still have a chance at her own HEA. It also set up a very tastely little conflict to add to the problems she's already having. I loved it! Can't wait to see how things end up in book two.

Great review! Thanks for reading Winter's Kiss. Hope you'll read Scarlet Fury when it releases for more.
ReplyDeleteI definitely want to keep reading. I love what you set up in both books so far and I see lots of exciting things happening in the next book.
