Nicholas was a great hero. He's just the right mix of dangerous, dashing, and lovable.
Mira throws caution to the wind a couple of times too many and displays some definite TSTL moments, but I think her overall personality made up for any DUH moments.
The mystery was a little predictable, but that was fine with me, because I usually can't stand a mystery that goes on until the last page of a book.
I recommend this one for lovers of the scarred hero and rags to riches troupe. (two of my favorites!)
Love this kind of hero. The scary, scarred, intimidating hero always reminds me of a Beauty and the Beast sort of setting.

DeleteBeauty and the Beast and the Little Mermaid were staples of my childhood. God knows I watched them enough.
