I am a huge fan of Caris Ronae because she does great world
builds in her books, so when I saw this at netgalley I just had to try it. It’s
not bad I just couldn’t get into this story like I wanted to. I would have
loved to have read this as a novel because I wanted to know more on the world build
and the romance between Gerrod and Abigail. I really liked the plot and I do
believe this will make a good series as the series continue. I know a lot of
readers will think this book falls short, and in ways it really does, but I
want to encourage anyone to give the next book a try before you totally quit
this series because not everything will be worked out in a novella. I know I myself
will be continuing the series. I do want to mention there is a very sweet scene
and it’s the first one I have ever read where a human heroine took care of the hero
vampire in the way she did. I really enjoyed this scene.
