Would you tell everyone a little about yourself?
I’m one of the most successful self-published authors who’s
never been traditionally published. A lot of my success is due to the fact that
I’m extremely prolific and work very hard at perfecting my craft. But that’s
not everything. Lots of people can write a good book: selling it is the hard
part. I spend lots of hours every day, promoting my work, making sure it is
available on as many platforms as possible. That’s also brought me to getting
my books translated into other languages to reach foreign language readers. So
far, several of my books have been translated into German, French, and Spanish.
And soon, my first audio book will be available too. I never stand still. When
there’s a new idea, I go for it, try it out, see if it fits, and if it does, I
repeat it. Writing is not just a passion for me, it’s also a business, and I
treat it with respect. It’s giving me lots of opportunities and enabled me to
do what I love. I have the best job in the world.
What sub-genre do you write?
Paranormal Romance. Occasionally I dabble in historical
paranormal romance too.
Who/what is your writing muse? And in what environment or
conditions do you write?
I wouldn’t say that I have a muse, or if I do, I don’t
really know who or what it is. Words and stories just come to me. I wake up
with new ideas and scenes in my head that I have to somehow weave into stories
and turn into books. While a lot of other authors write to music, I find it
very distracting. I need absolute quiet around me to really be able to be
creative and write. Occasionally, I can achieve that in a quiet coffee shop,
but most of the time I write at home in my office with the door closed. My most
creative time is in the morning, so I try to get my writing quota done before
lunch and then do all publishing related work later. I do set myself a goal for
each day of how many words I want to write or which scenes or chapters to
finish. It helps me keep on track with my self-imposed deadlines.
What are you working on at this time?
I’m working on book 6 in my bestselling Scanguards Vampires
series. It follows the story of Quinn, the vampire who now runs Scanguards
Headquarters in New York. Because his fate is linked to somebody in his past,
there will be some historical elements in the book, and that’s also why it’s
taking me a little longer. I need to do historical research to get things
right. I hope to have the book ready for a late summer release.

Cruishank, but that’s the issue she’s suddenly faced with when encountering
Aiden, a man who calls himself an immortal Cloak Warrior. At first, she doesn’t believe his outlandish claims, but when confronted with his powers of walking through solid objects and making himself invisible, she has to make a choice between her parents, who suffer from Alzheimer’s, and the greater good of humankind. Excerpt of Edge of Passion (Cloak Warrior #1)
With slow movements, he
reached for her. “Just so you’re cloaked,” he whispered.
“Yes.” Her husky voice
was barely audible.
Snaking an arm around
her waist, he drew her into the curve of his body. When her sweet backside
connected with his groin, he clenched his jaw shut to prevent himself from
moaning out loud.
Fuck!
He’d never survive this night.
In three heartbeats,
his body pumped more blood into his cock, making him as hard as he’d ever been.
Leila’s breath hitched.
She’d noticed it and tried to move away from him.
“No,” he breathed into
her ear, tempted to suck her soft earlobe into his mouth. “I won’t do anything
you don’t want me to do.”
Yeah, where had he
heard that before? As if he would be able to stop once he started.
Pressing his palm onto
her stomach, he pulled her back against him. His hard-on ground against her
butt cheeks, begging to be let out of its confines.
“Aiden ...”
Did her voice sound
just a little bit aroused, or was this simply wishful thinking on his part?
“We shouldn’t ... it’s
not r—”
“Right?” he finished
her sentence and pressed a soft kiss on the spot below her ear. “It feels right
to me.” Even though he knew it was wrong. Somewhere in the Cloak Warrior rule
book it was written, but for some reason, the rules didn’t mean anything to him
at that moment.
Perhaps this was how
Manus seduced his charges: with sweet words and tender caresses. Aiden could do
the same. In fact, it didn’t feel like a lie to do this. Whispering sweet
nothings into her ear involved no deception, because the things he wanted to
tell her felt real.
She sighed and relaxed
against him.
“Leila, do you remember
what you did earlier tonight when you were in your own bed?”
A gasp escaped her, and
he felt her body shift as if she wanted to get away from him again.
“It was beautiful
watching you.”
He planted kisses along
the graceful column of her neck. Then he allowed his hand to move. His fingers
found the waistband of her PJs and slipped underneath.
“I wanted to join in
earlier. You excite me.” In snail’s pace, his hand traveled lower. “Let me
pleasure you now. Say yes,” he urged as his fingers dove lower and delved into
the nest of curls guarding her sex.
“Aiden, we can’t ... I
don’t know you ... it’s ...” she stammered at the same time as her hips
tilted toward his hand.
“Say yes, and I’ll
release the tension in your body.”
He moved another inch
lower, his fingertips now reaching the moist flesh at the juncture of her
thighs.
“Your body needs this.”
And he needed it too, needed to feel her shudder in his arms.
He nipped at her skin
where her neck met her shoulder and felt her shiver. “Say yes.”
With a sigh, her answer came.
