4.5 Stars! Danielle Smith successfully completes her first foray into the BDSM arena with Demon's Slave. Hot and steamy, this features characters from Smith's other books: Rose, half angel, half human - Nephilim; Striker, half demon, half human; Alexius, Rose's angel father and Striker's demon hound, Trash. This is definitely a stand alone book, but the finer relationship nuances may be missed if reading the series out of order. I haven't read the others yet and I didn't feel like I was missing anything. It only made me more anxious to read her other books which are on my to-read list.

Rose and Striker have been together now for two plus years and it is Striker's big 3-0 birthday and Rose has the perfect gift for him. She is giving him three days and nights of "total submission" to be his "devoted servant", to be what he wants, to do what he wants with her. She's putting her pride aside for him for his 30th birthday.

In the process, she is humorously able to thumb her nose at the powers that be "upstairs". We get to see how much Striker is desperately in love with Rose. Yes, we see bad boy Striker show his vulnerable side several times in this story. Rose gets nice and mushy in here as well.

Striker uses a naked Rose for his breakfast plate in a deliciously sensual scene. There is also a couple of scenes in an old abandoned church, a closed bar where Striker does his cage fighting and a steamy (pun intended) anal shower scene. Rough BDSM is the theme for the three days which is the whole point of the birthday gift. But at no time is Rose hurt; it is very evident she is enjoying herself and is definitely getting off on everything he does to her. The very minute she uses her safe word, he freezes. Needless to say, Striker enjoys his gift very much.

This is a 'not to be missed' book for Rose and Striker fans, BDSM fans, and paranormal romance and urban fantasy fans who don't mind and/or like a little rough sex with their paranormal. Don't wait to add this to your wishlist.
