Biochemist Cresso Taylor lives the sort of lifestyle most men would envy—he has wealth, natural incubus charm, and more women than he can handle. But it’s not enough anymore. Not after meeting Genevieve Russell, the sexy scientist who works with him at Elcorp Laboratory. And she wants absolutely nothing to do with him.
After her fiancĂ© broke her heart, Genevieve has had enough of womanizers. She’s determined to steer clear of sexy-as-sin Dr. Taylor, despite the fact that his incubus allure makes her want to rip his clothes off. But when a secret admirer’s affection turns to the macabre with threatening notes and grisly gifts, Cresso appoints himself her protector. As she and Cresso hunt her stalker, she discovers there’s a lot more to the sensual incubus than she ever imagined.
Although part of the same series, this was a bit different than the first three. First, it doesn’t involve the overall major plot that the first 3 stories followed. Second, although paranormal elements are definitely present, this was more of a romantic suspense about a stalker instead of an evil monster trying to rule the world. From the start, we know that Cresso is in love with Genevieve but that she doesn’t want to ever fall in love again. However, we know she can’t resist too long. He’s just too amazing of a person for anybody to stay away from! One of the things I really enjoyed about this story was getting to watch the thought process of Genevieve as she realized she really could fall in love with Cresso. I understood why she was hesitant, and having her change her mind quickly wouldn’t have made any sense. But actions speak louder than words, and Cresso continued to show her how much he loved her with his actions. The story flowed smoothly and when the steam picked up, it was very steamy.
This is the 6th book I’ve read by this author, and I’ve loved every single one of them! All of her stories are romantic, steamy, well written, grammatically correct, and definite page turners! I can’t wait for the next one!
Great review Kris! I'm reading my way through the series ATM.
ReplyDeleteIts hard for me to think of a biochemist as sexy...I have known way to many nerdy ones.
ReplyDeleteBut it sounds like Cresso has a problem being mistaken for nerdy biochemists...
Thanks Megan! I hope you enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteI actually don't know any biochemists, Lexi, so that thought hadn't occurred to me. How funny!
