My newly arranged TBR pile. Thanks to my daughter
Well when your a mom you tend to brag on anything your child does. Well mine has been board out of her mind. This is how bad. My daughter Jessica took on my TBR Pile she arranged all the books in alphabet order form the first names of the author, she done this in around an hour, when done she said "dont you think you can find what your looking for better?" Of course I said "yes, Now I can find what I what." WooHoo!
I think this was a huge job for a teen, I would like to give her something for this if you have a suggestion plese let me know.

A BOOK :) hehe I always liked it when my mom took me out on a mom-and-me date to the movies or something like that. You have A LOT of books in your pile good luck with getting through it!
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful stack of books! Looks like we have a lot of the same ones in our to-be-read pile. Happy reading!!
ReplyDeleteWow, there's some awesome books in there, some of which are sat in my TBR pile.
ReplyDeleteI used to do this all the time when I was younger for my parents. I hate things like books and DVD's sitting on a shelf and out of order. In fact when we moved my dad left all the DVD's for me to do. He said I'd only be in there after him rearranging it all, which is sadly true.
My first thought as a gift was the same as Lindsey's. It's still my mum's go to gift for me lol
Very nice. I like to sort my own shelves in alphabetical order when I get the random urge to reorganize. However, I've never done it based on the authors first names. Always go with last. Need to organize a tbr shelf, or bookcase some time soon.
ReplyDeleteHOLY!!! and I thought my TBR pile was huge!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome stacks of books. :) My daughter is the same way - she took all of my YA books and put them in their own book case. But I have to wonder if that was so SHE could better find something to read. LOL No, I'm kidding. She did it out of the goodness of her heart.
ReplyDeleteAs for a thank you gift for your daughter - what does she like? Is she a girly-girl? Take her to get her nails done. It can cost as little as $6.
Or if she is a reader like her mom - take her to the book store. :)
How about an I-tunes gift card? Or a movie?
Have a great day.

Laurie, not really sure what to tell you as something to do to repay your daughters lovely effort but have this suggestion in mind, how about a hug from her Mom and a big Thanks sweetie I love you very much. Why do you have to repay any kindness by giving a thing? Why are we all geared this way now? Can we not repay kindness with kindness back? I understand that she was bored but still if she did this to be nice to you the best repayment is to appreciate the effort and to let her know it by showing her!!!!
ReplyDeleteNow, can I "borrow" Jessica and have her come do mine? LOL
Wow...that is the mother of all TBR piles. I'm speechless! :)
ReplyDeleteI suggest taking her out for ice cream! Always been fun for me and my mom.
P.S: I have an award for you here!

ReplyDeleteBake her a cake.
ReplyDeleteMisspelled a few things, had to delete my ^ comment. Wow! That was really nice of your daughter. I did something similar for my mom last year, except i organized the 10+ boxes of romance novels she has in our attic. Except i just organized them by genre. Took me 5 or so hours, yeah i was pretty bored. I've read some of the books in your TBR pile and i can say they were excellent. And i have some of the others in my own TBR pile and i also added a few to my own after looking at your stacks as well. I have a question about one book though, would you be so kind as to tell me the title of the book at the very bottom of the first stack? As for an award, speaking as a teen myself. Depending on what she likes, you take her out for a mother-daughter spa day or you could like others suggested take her to a movie or get her an iTunes gift card or you could get a book for her or get her a gift card to a bookstore or you could get her a gift subscription to a magazine like Allure or some other magazine. Or you could take her out for dinner at her favorite restaurant or you could like someone suggested take her out for ice cream.
ReplyDeleteFashionably Fabulous-The first stack with the least books is And Falling fly by Skyler White or the last pile is Sherrilyn Kenyon Bad Attatude.
ReplyDeleteThanks ladies for the advice My daugher is one that doesnt eat much so food is always out, she has plenty of books. Movies sounds great and spa sounds really good she has been asking to get a maincure. But after I posted this today I told her I have to go buy new clothes for Showalter and Wards books signing and she said "Dont I get some too"? so I think I will do that. She is kind of excited to be having lunch with Gena Showalter, so I think new clothes would be good.
Just think this isnt all of my TBR pile I have more. If I dont quit buying like my daugher says I will never get done but then again do I want to get done? naw!
