Hump Day Humor: HUSBAND WANTED

HUSBAND WANTED

A lonely woman, aged 70, decided that it was time to get married. She put an ad in the local paper that read:

HUSBAND WANTED!
MUST BE IN MY AGE GROUP (70's),
MUST NOT BEAT ME,
MUST NOT RUN AROUND ON ME,
AND MUST STILL BE GOOD IN BED!
ALL APPLICANTS PLEASE APPLY IN PERSON.
....

On the second day she heard the doorbell. Much to her dismay, she opened the door to see a gray-haired gentleman with no arms or legs sitting in a wheelchair.

The old woman said, "You're not really asking me to consider you, are you? Just look at you ... you have no legs!" The old man smiled, "Therefore I cannot run around on you!"

She snorted. "You don't have any hands either!"

Again the old man smiled, "Nor can I beat you!"

She raised an eyebrow and gazed intently. "Are you still good in bed?" With that, the old gentleman leaned back, beamed a big broad smile and said, "I rang the doorbell, didn't I?"

Series Overview

In the time of Tudor rule, when the land grew untamed and the men fought fiercely, the HIGHLAND HEARTS trilogy follows Scottish warriors of the Macbain and Munro clans on their quests for justice and survival. This historical, paranormal romance series sweeps from the raw grandeur of the Highlands to the opulence of King Henry’s court, where bold strategies, royal intrigue, and murder twist together with white magic as these warriors become entangled with three English lasses from very different lives. With secrets exposed and distrust shadowing their happiness, can they conquer the darkness to win the purest form of magic that exists – love?
In total, the HIGHLAND HEARTS series includes three main, full-length novels, CAPTURED HEART, TANGLED HEARTS, and CRIMSON HEART. A very short novella (13K words), HIGHLAND HEART (missing the all-important “s” at the end) is a prequel to the series, revealing how the first dragonfly-magic came to the western Highlands. UNTAMED HEARTS is a long novella (40K words) which bridges the gap between TANLGED HEARTS and CRIMSON HEART. Review: Passion's Sacred Dance (Harshad Warriors #1) by: Juli D. Revezzo

Title: Passion's Sacred Dance (The Hardshad Warriors #1)
Author:Juli-D.-Revezzo
Source: Review Request
Length: 298 pages PDF
Reviewer: Emi

**I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review**

Battling mounting debt, Stacy Macken is determined not to lose her historic art gallery. When Aaron Fielding appears and offers to help, she fights to keep the attraction sizzling between them from clouding her judgment. He may be her savior in disguise--but can she trust him?

Aaron intrigues her with tales of the Tuatha dé Danann, sworn warriors who protect humanity from the monsters seeking their destruction. If Aaron can prove what he claims, she would give up anything to help--even the gallery he claims is sacred ground. But with her property set to stage the next epic battle, she needs answers. An old family diary will confirm the ancient legend is true, if only they can find it in time.

If the battle is lost, the enemy will take control of Earth for the next five hundred years. Stacy and Aaron's budding love might only complicate things.

Passion's Sacred Dance was a good read. The concept of the story is very interesting and there was enough action and steaminess, I just felt a bit confused and thought it lacked info.
Stacy is the owner of the Historic Center but is in debt and needs to figure out a way to keep her center, Aaron is a Harshad Warrior and Stacy's guardian. There is an impending war between the Harshad Warriors and the evil they have been fighting against for centuries, and Stacy is right in the middle of it. Tho she has had some sort of idea since it is part of her family history.
Like I said, the storyline is interesting, Ancient warriors fighting against evil to prevent humankind from suffering an Apocalypse, but as the story went along not all of the background was known and more information was promised to be told but never mentioned.
It was a good read, it kept my attention even though I was a bit confused. I'll most likely read the next one too, I'd like to see what happens next and if there is more information given.

Review: Gathering Storm by Victoria Danann

Title: Gathering Storm (Order of the Black Swan #5)
Author: Victoria Danann
Source: Author Request
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Release Date: September 19, 2013
Reviewer: Jasmyn

THE NEWSLETTER: Z Team, a.k.a Zed Company, is transferred to Jefferson Unit, which is being temporarily retired as an active hunter facility and converted to a research / training institution. Sol takes his first vacation – ever – leaving Glen in charge with Storm supervising. Rosie is proving to be an extraordinary little girl and Deliverance is in BIG trouble with her mother.

THE SURPRISES: Storm is really not himself. Former members of B Team must reunite to preserve his image and reputation. No one could have prepared for the surprises Rosie delivers, least of all Glen.

THE ADVENTURE: The Ralengclan send a second wave assassination team to Jefferson Unit at the worst possible time, when it’s been left defended by only Z Team, Glen, Elora, Sir Fennimore, and the trainees.

*Highly recommend reading this series in order if you want to follow the storyline*

Victoria did exactly what I was praying for and fleshed out one of my emerging favorite characters.  We get to watch Glen become a major player in the storyline and I loved every minute of it.  His character really shines and we get to see what kind of man he is when the head of Jefferson Unit takes a vacation - and leaves the rookie in charge.  Of course this is just setting up disaster and it strikes in several forms - Storm goes missing between dimensions, an invasions from another dimension out to assassinate Elora, and sweet little Rosie.

Sweet little Rosie is growing by leaps and bounds - literally.  We get to watch her grow up - all the way and it's amazing how well Victoria Danann wrote this.  She is another character that I know I am going to love as she works her way into the storyline.

A perfect addition to the fantastic series - book six is coming soon and I'm itching to get my hands on it.
